The spoiled, unhappy wife of a wealthy industrialist usually gets whatever she wants from her husband, Lane.
Now she wants his soul.
Gwen Butcher unleashes dark forces into the once grand estate. She quickly loses control over them causing everyone in the mansion to experience frightening paranormal activity. Most of the servants flee. Her marriage ends, but not the way she expected.
Lane retreats to the cellar believing he can never emerge from the cold, dark basement if he wants to keep what’s left of his sanity.
A distant relative and his wife, Corwyn are sent as caretakers to both the estate and Lane Butcher, but soon the young wife finds herself abandoned in the sinister house. Once Corwyn discovers the real reason for Lane’s retreat from the world, she believes she can help him. That is, if she can keep her own sanity in a haunted house. The mansion has the tragic past to prove those rumors of a curse correct. There’s only one thing strong enough to break the curse. Love.

Kristine Goodfellow lives with her husband on the east coast. She has two grown sons and two spoiled cats.

The author is a Starbucks devotee and finds the coffee house a favorable writing venue as long as she is wearing her headphones to keep her from starting conversations with whomever sits next to her. Back in her school days the nuns always said her chatter was a distraction to those around her. Throughout her life, she's proven them right. Ms. Goodfellow continues to collect characters and make friends.

She wrote her first novel in 2001 and has loved every moment of the writing journey. A sufferer from TMIS - Too Many Ideas Syndrome, she can find a story in any situation and feels deprived if she doesn't get writing time every single day. Ms. Goodfellow has finished nine full-length novels in the genres of gothic romance, contemporary romance, pyschological drama and horror. She's also very good about answering email, so drop her a line.

I love the story. It's the right kind of long and drawn-out. Never a dull moment. Suspenseful and oddly romantic. I could NOT put it down, I was so drawn to the story. I adored how tortured Lane is, he is an amazing character. It's so Beauty and the Beast. It's one of a kind and I want more!
It's so perfect, I even make my sisters listen to it. I cannot say enough about this book.

Mansion on Butcher Lake was an amazing read to say the least. The story line was easy to follow, unpredictable, and absolutely captivating! It was almost impossible for me to put this book down, needless to say there were a few nights I stayed up way too late reading only to be tired the entire next day. The writing was extremely descriptive and I had a vivid picture in my head the whole time I was reading. The characters were well thought out and the main characters very easy to get attached to. This book was so good that as soon as I finished the book I got the chills. Mansion on Butcher Lake is, hands down, one of the best books I have read in a very long time. I would recommend this book to anyone!

A Creepy Disturbing Bloody Tale

This is a strange tale, Lane, the main character is tormented and tortured slowly, both mentally and physically by his wife, Gwen. You are taken on a freaky, alarming tale, trapped in the walls of Iron Heights, a crumbling mansion on Butcher Lake. The servants, do their best to help Lane and the author, Kristine Goodfellow brings the characters all to life, vividly.

Kristine is a skilled writer and her words flow effortlessly, painting a gruesome web of demonic hell. The pages turn quickly and I enjoyed this book.

This is a thrilling read and I highly recommend it. I will not be going down to a cellar any time soon!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author had fantastic character development; the people, placed and images she wrote about were believable. The twist and turns were one after another and I didn’t see most of them coming. She wrote the unexpected. I highly recommend this book!

Interesting plot I just wasn't into it. I wasn't sure which characters I was supposed to like and I didn't really care. I read it for the plot. If there wasn't a conversation happening the book didn't progress. It was lacking something.
