Waterfell Tweed #4-6

Waterfell Tweed Cozy Mystery Box Set: Books 4-6

Rate this book
Welcome to Waterfell Tweed, where things aren't as cozy as they seem...

Sandy Shaw was happy with her life running the village cafe and bookstore, until a series of murders in the sleepy village cause everyone to second-guess just how peaceful things are.

Join Sandy as she sets out to solve the killers, and get peace restored, in this box set collection of the fourth, fifth and sixth books in the Waterfell Tweed Cozy Mystery Series.

This box set includes MURDER MOST REMOTE, BANG! YOU'RE DEAD and THE BLACK ROCK MURDER

Each novella is around 30,000 words long and is a cozy mystery, meaning they are safe from swearing, sex, violence and cliffhangers. Each book can be read as a standalone but the series is best enjoyed if read in order.

This is the second box set in the series containing short stories 4 through 6 to continue the plotting of the Waterfell Tweed gang. Excellent characters and very good plotting make the stories enjoyable and consuming as you won't want to stop listening! I particularly like that each short story basically picks up where the last story stops or very shortly after. I really hope the author continues this series as I have become quite fond of the characters and want to see what happens in their lives next!

This is my review of the audio version as posted on Audible:

My comebak to the small village of Waterfell Tweed was as relaxing and entertaining as my first visit there:)

The second set of cozy mysteries with Sandy Shore in her role of a PI has all the advantages and all the faults (small ones, though:)) of the first. The mysteries are quite short but logical; these are crimes of passion rather than cold-blooded murders, with emotions running high and making you feel sorry for the culprits most of the time. The characters are an interesting bunch of people, and their personal lives develop throughout all six stories (in 2 box sets), which makes the books seem more real (life in Waterfell Tweed is not frozem in time:)).
The only fault again? Too few clues on the way to the solution - or was it me not paying enough attention to details?:)
Anyway, it's a fantastic set of relaxing cozies for a lazy afternoon:)

Narration by Ms Nagle is very good. I'll repeat what I once wrote: she varies voices enough for me to easily follow the dialogues but she doesn't overdo them, especially the male ones. She reads at a good pace and conveys the emotions and the personalities of all the characters very well, making the books really come to life. A very good inetrpretation of the series.

Another lightweight listen in a nice, gentle series. The stories from Waterfell Tweed always live up to their promise as a 'cosy', even if the village's body-count rivals that of Midsomer.

There are similar editing/grammar issues to the last collection but the stories are more consistent and the mysteries held my interest. It was nice to revisit familiar characters and I warmed to them much more this time round.

The narrator, Nano Nagle, have an entertaining performance, and I didn't find the Australian accent as distracting this time because I was accustomed to it. Her Scottish and Welsh were a bit hit and miss - but then so are mine!

Overall it was another nice, relaxing listen, and I'd happily revisit the series when there is another collection of the stories. I hope Sandy branches out into investigating other crimes, not just murders, as the village is starting to feel quite perilous!

Enjoyable!

4. Addictive!
This novella is the fourth is the series. Sandy goes on a book buying trip to Scotland, The Isle of Mull, with Tom. A visit to the castle should have been innocent enough, but murder seems to follow Sandy around… Yes, another murder. And someone needs to take charge. That someone’s name begins with S ;)
A lovely closed environment murder case. A party of eight, not inclusing Sandy or Tom, and one of them is a killer… WHO?!
Where Sandy was hesitant before, she shows some great leadership here, much to her own surprise. A very capable investigator, our Sand. Waterfell Tweed is totally addictive. Once I started the series I just couldn’t stop.

5. twistst and turns
We’re back in Waterfell Tweed and as much as I enjoyed Mull, it’s good to be back. Yes, it’s home, but it’s not peaceful! Another murder for Sandy to solve. This case is opening up a whole new world for her. A grittier, darker world, of gangs and hits. And she finds herself in some awkward situations, in this book! It wasn’t AS light-hearted and fun as the other books in this series were, but it WAS really good! It had twistst and turns I didn’t see coming! There were oohs and aahs, surprise and shock at the end!

6. Very enjoyable
This was a good cozy! Fun. Entertaining. Very enjoyable!

Waterfell Tweed Cozy Mystery Series: Box Set 2: (Books 4-6)
: Mona Marple

Books 4-5-6 in this series. Sandy and Tom go to Scotland on a book buying trip. As usual a murder happens and Sandy investigates. The next book continues on their way home. Another murder another investigation. Next book after they return home .....surprise surprise another murder. It was fun getting to see Sandy and Tom interact and meeting new characters. This is a great clean light listen. I hope there will be more adventures, I want to see what happens next.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Nano Nagle makes this an enjoyable listen.

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own.

This is a collection of books 4 - 6 in the Waterfell Tweed Cozy Mysteries. It is light and entertaining. The characters are quirky but very likeable. An enjoyable way to spend the afternoon.

All of the books in this compilation were narrated by Nano Nagle. She is a great job in bringing Waterfell Tweed to life with her creation of distinct characters and personalities through her vocal abilities.

Sandy has fallen in love and wants to spend more time with Tom. As usual something happens to occupy much of her time. A great fun read and getting to know Sandy and Tom better.

Not bad

I thought that the mysteries in the books were a little rushed. I enjoyed some of the new characters, but wish that the plots Were A little more detailed.
