You've heard the saying, "The bigger they are, the harder they fall."
Well, that's me in all my six foot seven glory when I first see the petite firebrand, Audrey Johansson. No, no, I don't literally fall to my knees and thank God for introducing me to the mother of my future giant babies. I'm far too rugged for such hopeless displays of schoolboy lust. However, on the inside, I immediately stake my claim on the ballbusting beauty and begin planning our entire lives.
As I see it, Audrey is a lost, little sheep searching for her sexy, super-sized shepherd. Unfortunately, her father isn't a fan of my breakneck, romantic plans. A tattooed, biker hotshot in their Kentucky neck of the woods, Cooper Johansson expects me to kiss his f'ing ring if I hope to cuddle up with his baby girl.
Never going to happen.
As the son of a junkyard dog, I can growl with the biggest of badasses. So despite Cooper's snarling threats, I have no doubt I'll win Audrey's heart as completely as she's stolen mine.
Brick Shithouse is the final book in the White Horse series. Containing sexual content, violent situations, and extreme profanity, this romance is only appropriate for adult readers age 18+.
Okay so I’m definitely in the minority here. This book has all 5 and 4* reviews and it’s about the joining of the Hayes and Johansson families so how could I not love it?
I’m not sure what’s going on with me. I really, really wanted to love this but maybe my expectations were too high and unrealistic.
I found it very similar to Chipper and Tatum’s story. Cap is like Chipper he knows on sight that Audrey is it for him, he’s patient and understanding and always knows what she wants and needs. He’s prepared to do whatever he has to do to spend the rest of his life with her. I loved Cap the angelic cherub that he is.
My problems came with Audrey (like with Tatum in the previous book). I’d expected (totally my fault) Audrey to be a cross between Sawyer and Bailey. I was waiting for the sparks and sarcasm to really kick in but Audrey wasn’t that.
Audrey rests her head on my shoulder and exhales all of her worries until she’s completely relaxed in my arms. I’m always surprised by how uneasy she is in her own skin. Her father is a badass, and she lived a charmed life. We grew up with the same luxuries, yet I wear my choices—good and bad—as a badge of fucking honor. Audrey, though, second-guesses even her best decisions.
The characters are great and the dialogue is sharp as always with this author but this wasn’t the book I wanted. That’s on me I know. It’s my fault I didn’t enjoy this as much as I hoped but I didn’t want another Chipper and Tatum I wanted Cap and Sawyer/Bailey. I wanted Audrey to make Cap work for it but I wanted her to be a force to be reckoned with. The daughter of Cooper Johansson.
It’s funny in places I especially liked the Tucker/Rando parts and I wish I could write a more glowing review but it wasn’t the book I’d hoped for.
Really enjoyed this. It has been a while since I have read a Bijou Hunter book and I forgot how much fun they are. Both Cap and Audrey are fantastic. I also love getting to see Cooper and Farah who are my favorite couple by Bijou Hunter.

If you are anything like me, you have been waiting for Casper’s book for some time. I loved Hayes(of course) and Chipper and Cricket but Casper had been a character that I have been very interested in since he first shows up, and then with each book I have grown more and more intrigued by him until I just couldn’t wait for his book, and actually asked Bijou Hunter when we would get his book. The dynamics of his family and how he responded had me so excited to see how his book would actually turn out and to see who Cap really was.
Working with his father(Hayes) Cap knows Cooper a biker will be stopping by to talk about some business, what Casper never planned was Cooper beautiful younger daughter to come along. The second Cap see’s her his world and plans change and all that matters is getting this girl to agree to be his. He knows she will eventually break and Cap is willing to do anything to make that happen sooner rather than later.
When Audrey’s mom (Farah) suggests Audrey ride along with her father she agrees, but never would she have guessed that she would meet the man she would fall in love with. Cap isn’t like the men from her town, and he isn’t scared of her father like most. Cap isn’t like any man she has ever met and though he is the most handsome man she has ever seen before she is shocked by how quickly her feelings follow right along. Spending such a short time together Audrey can’t believe the turn of events nor can she believe she is willing to make such big changes, But Casper and their future are worth it. Jumping head first Cap and Audrey fall in love fast and try to make a life for themselves and their two crazy families who have ideas of their own.
I loved this book, but to be very honest with you, I knew I would. I knew Cap would be an amazing hero and adding in his crazy family and Audrey’s and I couldn’t have been happier. I loved seeing how tender and careful Cap could be with Audrey while also making sure she stood up for herself and became stronger. While at the same time always being their to catch her if she fell and kill anyone if they hurt the woman he loved. This is such a great romance where we get to see two people truly fall in love. Like all Bijou Hunter book I laughed so much reading this book.
Honestly this book is so full of amazing characters this book couldn’t be anything but perfection. I read through this book so fast and had I not been really busy with real life stuff this would have been a one sitting book. This is such a perfect summer read. It has everything you could want in a romance and is one of those books you get wrapped up in and can’t believe you have read so much of till you have to put it down when the real world interferes. Cap is such an amazing hero, Audrey is it for him and once he see’s her his mind is set on her and never waivers. He’s patient and kind to her and also brings out the best in her. Audrey is sweet and strong and grows so much in this book.
And then we have the two families. Hayes’s family is hilarious and hard not to love. I laughed so much reading his book. While they may be rough around the edges they love hard and protect those they care about. We also get Cooper and Farah in this book. They will always hold a very special place in my heart, they were the first book I read from Bijou Hunter and I honesty can’t tell you how many times I have re-read their book. Adding these two family in the mix made this book something special. I can’t recommend this book enough, it was such a fun amazing read.
Casper "Cap" Hayes knows his role in his family. His six foot seven stature and natural good looks has the women swooning at his feet and the men running off in fear. When he sits in on a meeting for his father, he does his best to prove intimidating but he doesn't expect the petite beauty Audrey Johansson to be her fathers backup. Cap knows Audrey will be his one day, but the angry fireball has to do her best to try to out sass, wit, and intimidate him before he can claim her as his own.
This was a thrilling read. I loved Cap and Audrey together. Cap is a bit of Candy and Angus Hayes rolled into one. There are a few really fascinating surprises in the book that I think fans of series will love. I need more, can't wait to see who and what is next.
I received this story from the author for a honest review.
This is the 3rd book in the White Horse series and this is Cap’s (Casper’s) story, I can’t believe he’s grown up and falling in love, but I love who Bijou has him falling in love with, she’s actually perfect for him and they are great together. So Audrey, is the youngest from Cooper and Farrah, and she’s a ball of contradictions both confident and insecure. I love how these two work together and help each other grow. I love all the family interactions, they had me smiling a lot, and as always, I love the epilogues.
This is the fourth book in this series and though technically it could stand alone, it’s much better if you read the preceding books. Plus they’re pretty funny so you’d enjoy them.
Cap Hayes is a giant of a man. He looks mean and threatening and knows how to throw and take a punch. He’s also a really nice guy who adores his strange family. He’s the baby of the family, born when his twin siblings were 9 or 10. He’s watched them get hitched (Hayes style) and have kids and basically become happier and he knows he wants that too.
Audrey Johansson is also the baby of her family. But instead of her family being regular crime bosses, they are biker crime bosses. She’s never felt like she really fit in with her family and never had a particular ambition other than to open a hipster bookshop with her cousins. When that fell through she didn’t know what to do. Audrey’s father and Cap’s father have had business dealings for years when Audrey is invited to go on a trip to White Horse, Tennessee from her home in Ellsberg, Kentucky with her father.
When Cap and Audrey set eyes on each other it’s insta-love time, the way it’s been for the rest of the Hayes family. Audrey takes the big leap and decides that she wants to explore a relationship with Cap so she plans to move to White Horse and rent a place whilst that exploration takes place.
This story is as much about Audrey working out who she is and how she fits into her own family as well as Cap’s, as it is about their romance. Their romance is sweet and passionate and really funny but the family interactions are just as important. They are probably more hilarious too.
It’s fun watching the baby of the family, Cap, get his chance to shine. In the previous books he was treated as the baby of the family and now he gets to step up and take his place in the family as a mature(ish) adult.
The banter, as always, in White Horse is fabulous. I sniggered most of the way through the book. Cap’s attitude towards his in-laws was pretty hilarious too.
This is a great finish to the White Horse series as we see all of Cap’s family and how they have flourished over the years because his family is one of the most important parts of Cap’s story too. When you see the next generation of Hayes’ starting with their snark you know that they will continue being the weird rulers of White Horse for decades to come. Oh, how I hope I get to read about that next generation!
I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.
What can I say she does it again !!!
A fantastic addition to the series I was waiting for Cap's story he is so intelligent I think the brains of the group and he lived up to my expectations. The story is funny quirky and gives you so many laugh out loud moments including snorts !!! It flows really well and brings in all the gang which is always a bonus reading alongside your other favourite characters like Hayes, Cricket etc with my all time favourite Cooper Johansson and Farah (Damaged and the Beast). I liked how Audrey was slightly insecure and when she meets Cap he brings out the best of her and with his wise words always made her see sense but without taking away her personality. The storyline is very fast track romance but if you have read this series all the characters do have that. I think it is what makes this series special from Lust to Love in 0 seconds.
If you like funny romantic comedy this is the book for you, I suggest you start on book one but it can be read as a stand alone.
Five stars it really does not deserve anything less.
5 stars for emotional value, 4 stars for actual story rating lol I’ve been waiting for cherubic Cap’s own breezy and finally he mans the fck up and gets his woman (still with the help of his daddy tho lol) It’s not as great as i expected. I mean sure I laughed throughout it all but Cap just seemed too arrogant most of the time and Audrey seemed like a lost teenager who just follows her older boyfriend because she doesn’t know what to do with her life. I love the Hayes. Still enjoy that snarky shit stirring family dynamic. Makes me nostalgic and want to read Junkyard Dog again for old time’s sake. Cricket’s will still be my favorite of the baby bunch’s stories (because I love Poet’s dirty biker hillbilly queef saying family).
Now I’m feeling bummed out. Kirk is dead here, Jodi’s a gram and I feel like I’m as old and dead as they are. Kirk and Jodi’s was my favorite of the Johansson arc.
With the last of the babies settled down Hayes can finally get his vacation time and retire. I don’t know what to do anymore. Nothing to look forward to.
She did it again! This was such a satisfying wrap-up to the White Horse series. Cap (Angel) Hayes and Audrey JOHANSSON??? They were perfect together. Cap was strong and protective where Audrey was softer and a little scared. But she was just right in every way for Cap. Audrey completed Cap, was the other half of him and it was adorable seeing the giant fall in love at first sight with the teeny, tiny Audrey. Bijou Hunter keeps finding ingenious ways to interweave all of her fantastic series together. Cooper and Farah Johansson's daughter married to Angus Hayes' son? Craziness. But it works so well! Audrey thrives in White Horse and Cap becomes the man we always hoped he would be every time the family spoke of his "angel" ways. :)
I know that Ms. Hunter can only write so quickly, but I cannot wait for stories about Keanu (and maybe Lottie)? And Lily and Miranda and Colton. Oh, my!!!!
This is a good book. True romance, in the romantic crime genre, there was not a great deal of crime in this one. This is about the negotiating of an arranged marriage between two families, one a biker the other a criminal syndicate running a town sort of in a bad bad Leroy Brown kind of way. Both families extremely likable and familiar to fans of the author. This is not a forced marriage, more of a let's see if our kids like each other to our mutual benefit of we move on and continue to man hate each other. Lol. I can't help but feel that Rando is out there somewhere not afraid to say that her story is coming and it's better because it's hers...she just didn't want giant babies or to live in any town other than the best town-hers. she's probably also thinking everyone loves potato salad because it's awesome(even geese) and I have to agree potato salad is awesome.
This is the third book in the White Horse series, and it is Cap and Audrey's story.
OMG! I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK! I fell in love with Cap a long time ago, and I couldn't wait to read more about him! He is a mountain of man with a beautiful heart. Then there is Audrey. She is trying desperately to find her place in the world. Who knew she would find it with a giant in the backwoods of Tennessee?
This book/series is awesome! I loved how we got to catch up with both the Hayes and Johansson families! They are downright hilarious! This author has a wicked sense of humor that is present throughout all of her books! If you haven't yet had the pleasure of reading these books/series, you really are missing out!
I’ve been waiting for this story of Cap (Casper) and his leading lady Audrey for some time. Cap has just been a favourite of mine from the beginning, son of Angus Hayes and his wife Candy ( Junkyard dog) the family is hilarious with their dark humour.
It seems with have some meddling papas in this tale from White Horse as semi rivals Cooper Johansson and Hayes play matchmakers with the two younger children (early twenties I believe ) lots of laughs and lots of romance!
I like this series as it leans more to light hearted with a dash angst thrown in the mix. Another top read in my opinion definitely will be in my re read pile. Can’t wait for more!
I loved it! I loved Audrey and Casper. I loved the chemistry and I adored the banter between the characters. I loved that I was able to reconnect with characters from previous novels. This novel had me laughing out loud and embarrassing myself in public at my daughters softball game. This novel sucked me in from the very first page and I was sad that the novel ended on the very last page, I just didn't want to say goodbye to all of these characters. I love a novel that can make you laugh out loud and leave you with a smile on your face. That is what this novel did for me!
I think this is the last book in the White Horse series. It's Cap and Audrey's story. Lots of fun, humorous insults and time with the Hayes family as a group. I love breakfast at the waffle house and there weren't nearly as many breakfasts for me. I could spend every morning with them. As much as I've enjoyed Cricket, Chipper and Cap's stories Candy and Hayes from is still my favorite. I so wish it was available in audio.
I don't think Bijou has ever written a bad book, and this one just adds to the list of once you start you can't lay them down reads. If this is your first series with her, it will make you want to read them all,but if your a seasoned Bijou Hunter fan it will make you have found memories of familiar characters from it her early series. Can't wait to see what she has coming next!!
There's really not much of a story here. Honestly, it's the weakest book I've read by this author. I usually love how most of her stories focus on the main couple without too much extra stuff going on , but this one felt too light on plot. I kept waiting for something to happen , actually anything to happen, yet nothing ever does. I also didn't like how weak Cooper was portrayed. I did enjoy some of the banter.
It’s so sad to say goodbye to a series you love. Audrey and Casper’s story was the perfect ending for it though. Full of humour, sarcasm, rough and tough matchmaking, passion, um dysfunctional families and a love that most likely would survive WW3. I giggled, snorted and out right belly laughed my way through the book. Bijou never disappoints.
Love love love this Author laugh out loud sexy as sin with an awesome story that wouldn't let me put the reading greatness down . Took me three nights to read but wow what a great enjoyable three nights of was . Look forward to the next books out , with my one click finger at the ready. Fan-bloody-tastic.
What a fantastic story, bikers, families, love at first sight, intense attraction, romance, enough laughs to keep your interest right from the start. This book has it all, thoroughly enjoyable characters, a great storyline, and plenty twists laughs. I look forward to reading more from this author. Definitely worth your time to read.
The melding of two dictatorial dynasties (Reapers MC and Junkyard Dog) in the two youngest children. Hilarious all the way through. Insta-love, not a lot of action plot, and way over the top. I think Bijou Hunter is my new guilty pleasure. She has lots of freebies that start her series. Very addicting.
Even though most of these books are in some way instant love type stories, it doesn't feel that way. I get lost in the banter of the characters and the crazy family. I have a ton of other books I should be reading and reviewing but I cannot get enough of all the craziness that is this family.
I fell in love with Cap in Cricket's book and just knew his story would be the best out of them all. It was funny, heart warming, sexy and snarky . Definitely loved it and can't wait for more !
It's the meeting of two powerful families : Casper Hayes and Audrey Johansson. These two meet and Cap is ready to claim here in this latest White Horse book. Start with Junkyard Dog and finish with the kids a must read
This could be my favorite of the series so far. I truly enjoyed the back and forth between the characters. The connection was there for me from their first meeting. It was funny, but this author knows how to delivery that in spades. The plot kept my interest and I couldn't put the book down until it was finished. Happy Reading!
Sometimes planning by fathers doesn’t work out slow and easy. I enjoy reading about this loving biker family. This daddy’s girl finds her love with a giant. The families are quirky, funny which makes this an enjoyable way to spend your reading hours. HEA.
I thought the heroine was really immature. Her dad tells her to wait for him by their bikes (hers is pink camo and black) and she literally thinks Nope. My dad should know better than to tell me what to do. I'm definitely going to go get dinner with this strange guy I just met."
