Jade Jones discovered her passion for creative writing in elementary school. Born in 1989, she began writing short stories and poetry as an outlet. Later on, as a teen, she led a troubled life which later resulted in her becoming a ward of the court. Jade fell in love with the art and used storytelling as a means of venting during her tumultuous times.

Aging out of the system two years later, she was thrust into the dismal world of homelessness. Desperate, and with limited income, Jade began dancing full time at the tender age of eighteen. It wasn't until Fall of 2008 when she finally caught her break after being accepted into Cleveland State University. There, Jade lived on campus and majored in Film and Television. Now, six years later, she flourishes from her childhood dream of becoming a bestselling author. Since then she has written the best-selling "Cameron" series.

Quite suitably, she uses her life's experiences to create captivating characters and story lines. Jade currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. With no children, she spends her leisure shopping and traveling. She says that seeing new faces, meeting new people, and experiencing diverse cultures fuels her creativity. The stories are generated in her heart, the craft is practiced in her mind, and she expresses her passion through ink.

Y’all know I’m a Jade Jones fan. I got a lot of her books from being in her group but she is one of the authors that I’d use my Amazon credit on anytime and I have.

I listened to the Cameron Series books 1-8 on Audible. I really enjoyed watching Cameron and Jude amongst other characters in the book grow from teenager to adults with kids of their own.

Like any other relationship they went through up’s and downs. Illegal business, strip clubs, murder, side chicks, backstabbing, jealous friends and more. If you’re a lover of urban fiction this is a ride you might want to take.

Lord, this series evoked so many emotions. I was so over Cameron letting Poco drag her into mess after mess. At what point do you get fed up and stop letting someone pull you into their bullshit? First, Poco started a fight, then robbed a guy and got Cameron beat up over it, then let her get jumped, and then took her to a party, left her there, and Cameron ended up getting raped.

Then, to make matters worse, Cameron finds out that her man Silk was sleeping with Poco too. I was so happy when Cameron finally whooped Poco’s ass all up and down that dorm. Poco definitely got her karma, with a little help from her baby daddy.

Man oh man, Silk really showed his true colors. It is crazy how he cheated on Cameron for years, but the second she decided to move on, he completely lost it. I honestly never thought he would take his own life. That part truly shocked me.

And just when Cameron didn’t need any more betrayal, her own friend Tiffany turned into Poco reincarnated. Tiffany drugged Cameron, tried to sleep with her man, was robbing people, and sleeping around for money. Then there is Erica, Jude’s crazy ex, busting up Cameron’s cars and trying to keep her away from him. Erica eventually admits she has struggled with mental health issues for years and ends up attacking both Cameron and Jude before being hauled off to jail.

Just when Cameron thought she didn’t have any family, she meets an aunt who reveals she has a brother. The author does not immediately reveal who he is, but later we find out that when Cameron is abducted, the guy who killed Poco is actually her brother. He saves Cameron and ultimately dies in a shootout.

Meanwhile, Jude gets sentenced to five years in jail. While he is away, Cameron starts working at a bar and meets a new “friend,” Kiki, who turns out to be mentally unstable. Kiki sleeps with Cameron’s new man Marcus, falls in love with him, and ends up shooting Cameron. Marcus kills Kiki to protect Cameron.

At the same time, Jude comes home early and is ready to reclaim his woman. He and Cameron get back together, move to California, and try to raise their children away from the lifestyle that once afforded them everything.

But in a heartbreaking twist, when the series fast-forwards, we see their kids drawn right back to the very lifestyle Cameron and Jude tried so hard to protect them from.

Whew, what a ride. This series had betrayal, heartbreak, survival, love, and full-circle moments. It definitely kept me hooked from beginning to end.

Off the bat, I give this ever long series a 5.5/10. This book should have come with a warning label with the amount of death, drugs and mental instability it has. To be honest I believed this series could have been wrapped up by book 5 but the unnecessary drama prolonged it to be what it is. The rating of 5.5 was for pure entertainment and ability of the author to keep the story going as far as it did. I probably should have stopped reading until book 8 because the stories of Cameron's and Jude's children (Journee & Justin) was not enjoyable to read. Another thing about this series that was not enjoyable were the grammatical mistakes and the misnaming of places and main characters and often times, I had to read certain sentences many times to keep up.

Cameron, Cameron, Cameron, right down to the very end, it seemed like she never learned her lesson and for someone who went through so many awful situations. Although she overcame so many things that were very gruesome, her character had no shine and this book was about her life. I wanted her to shine through it all. Most times throughout this book, I wanted to slap her. With no direction in life even after she ended up with Jude, she still lacked the tenacity to mature.

If I went on and on about this book, my review would be just as long as this series was. In saying this, if there is ever a story to be learnt from such a series, is that you need to ask for discernment for every aspect of your life especially relationships and, friendships.

Give it a read if you have time to, you may enjoy it.

I tired…

This damn series was like a bad soap opera that you just had to see the ending to. I made it to book 5 and just gave up. The character regression in this series was crazy. It was so many extra storylines and new people being add for absolutely no reason. Every dude Cameron talked to had the same tone. Nothing to distinguish them from the rest but the description of how they looked. She could’ve been with the same guy throughout the series and you wouldn’t have known if not from a different name lol.

I really wanted to like this series but smfh I ain’t never read something so repetitive Cam in love with a dude that ain’t treating her right, got a snake as a friend, friend set her up, new man comes in, old man fuck friend or Pure seduction, Cam now done for good, Cam move on with new guy. This book was tired af!

And how she a stripper her whole life but don’t know how to flip some shit to get money. Cameron was weak through this whole book I was waiting for her to stand on her own without a man. That shit ain’t never happened how she finish school for fashion merchandise and only got a store in the mall smh. Where was the logic?

Whirlwind

This series explored the highs and lows of life. Cameron Cameron Cameron.... Shows the strength of women when the world seems to be against you. Jude dealt with the pressure of becoming a man.Fake friends , death ,wealth, and betrayal can cause turn a level headed person into beast. Parenthood changes and softens the heart and maturity strengths morals. This book took me through this journey with explosive situations that I just couldn't stop turning the pages. Buckle up get some snacks wine and time this is definitely a great .

Whew!!!!!

Thank God this story finally came to an end! It was as if the author forgot what she wrote! Different circumstances, different ages, different back stories. Then certain storylines were never concluded like 1 what happened to Magyc, 2 how did Diane (Juicy) get out of prison and marry Soul, 3 what happened to their house with the millions on an Island, 4 how did Soul and Jude hook up and the list goes on and on. I'm all for street lit but I was ready for Cameron's dumb/naive ass to be killed a long, long time ago!

Great Story

I loved every second of this book, from beginning to end. The only thing I didn’t like was we never really got an ending to the Ericka situation or Roxie & the Asian guy. Also, Magyc & Roxie married?!? But they had broken up and she had moved on from what I read?!? Other than that, this was a great read with many twists and turns! Cameron went through hell but still came out on top with Jude!! Loved it!!

Thrilling story

This series had my anxiety on ten at times!!!!! If you want to read a hard core, throat cutting series, this is the one!!!! I almost stopped reading it at one point because of the amount of characters in the story!!! I could visualize the scenes in the story and I thought that Cameron would never be happy. She just couldn't catch a break!!! Great story!!!!! This series need to be a movie!

Good writing; ratchet content

Whoever likened this series to "The Coldest Winter Ever" needs a reality check. Jade is a decent writer, but the subject matter and characters are beyond ratchet. Cameron is stupidity in the flesh, as are most of the dim-witted characters. I didn't complete the series because it was the same scenario of poor decisions and melodramatic results. If you like this type of mess , great, but this isn't for me.

Addictive!

The series was addictive! I waited in anticipation to see if Cameron would make smarter decisions. At times I felt like she was too gullible and continuously let people put her in situations that were questionable
