Librarian Note: This is an alternate cover edition for ASIN: B016HDC0L0. The original cover edition is here.

There’s always one in the bunch.

The one who takes things a little too seriously – a little too far. The fanatic, if you will.

When a radical Pagan group blows into Tequila Key to celebrate the autumnal equinox, Althea Rose’s psychic senses start tingling. She goes on full alert after meeting Horace, a Gandalf wannabe who reminds Althea of an old man playing dress up. One look into his pale eyes sets her straight, and soon Althea’s best friend Luna is forcing her to learn a magickal protection spell before they investigate Horace and his festival. To make matters worse, Althea botches the spell and the results are…interesting to say the least.

Oh, and about that love life of hers? There’s no time for love when bodies start turning up on deserted beaches. Soon, Althea is in way over her head as the full moon starts to rise and the clock counts down on the killer wandering Tequila Key’s quiet streets.

Reading the first book in the series I thought that I would like to get to know Miss Elva better. And luckily right away in book 2 my wish was granted.
There is a lot of magick and hocus pocus going on in this mystery...quite a bit too much for my taste but it is written so fast paced and entertaining that I will read more.

This was a quick, effortless read. A fun paranormal with fun characters.

I'd really like to know, though, what eventually happened with the turtles and their beach. The potential loss of their breeding ground is a big deal.

This book is even better than the first! Althea is coming to terms that she may have more powers than she thought while finding that someone is trying to take them away from her and leaving dead bodies pointing to her. The characters are a hoot, the guys are hot and the plot is entertaining and intriguing to keep your curiosity peaked so you just keep listening the day away. So far all the books have been available on audio book with a narrator that really helps breathe life into the characters even more! I would definitely start with the first book and I can't wait to see what happens in the next one!

The adventure and fun continue. I knew this would be a good series. I love Althea, Luna and Miss Elva. They are the perfect mystery solving supernatural trio. I can't get enough of Miss Elva's sass. The story, mystery and romance are complex but wind together into a wonderful story. The characters grow and develop with humour and drama.

I just can't...

I will continue this series, because I think I owe it to an incredible author like Tricia o'Malley to give all her books a shot. But there was something about this one that had me shaking my head in annoyance through it all. Althea's selfish cattiness when it comes to Trace is horrible to read. Nobody ever truly calls her out on it. Case in point in this book, she spent an entire morning being a catty bitch to Trace's girlfriend, then the moment her own showed up, she forgot all about Trace, Sienna and her awful behavior, and because something unpleasant occured afterward, she just got away with it. I expected so, so, so much more from Tricia's characters. I expected strong women, yes, but also compassionate women who care about the small things and apologize, meaning it, when they're wrong. I expected women who could learn from their mistakes, yet Althea does not appear to learn much at all. I can only hope she becomes a kinder, less self-absorbed person in the next few books. A character who takes things more seriously and who doesn't think she's above listening to sound advice when it's given. Right now though, I just feel a bit let down.

I give this story 4.5 Stars. The gangs all back again and trouble is a foot once more. People are dying and evil is walking the streets of Tequila. Throw in a pesky ghost and a few new love interests for our favorite people and sit back and watch the fun.

This story had a surprising little twist at the end. Not your typical paranormal story, I really liked the part the Goddess played in this installment.

Unfortunately for some love does not always run smoothly. As with the first story their is a completion of the mystery portion of the storyline while the love story is a work in progress.

Another fun story. I really like the female characters. The men however not so much! Cash may come around but Trace is just plain awful.

Tequila for Two, Althea Rose Mystery, Book #2
by Tricia O'Malley

Another fun read from Tricia O'Malley. This book, #2 in the Althea Rose mystery series, finds physic Althea, her best friend, Luna, the white witch, and Ms. Elva, the Voodoo priestess, facing up against a character they met briefly in the first book -- a cult leader named Horace, a radical Pagan, who has come to Tequila Key to host a pagan festival for Maban, the autumnal equinox. They believe he is responsible for the two murders they once again find themselves involved in. But is Horace the killer?

Great plotting and proof-reading. Consistent characters who continue to grow as the story continues. The new Sheriff (the Coastie Captain from the first book), Trace, Beau, Cash and Hank, fill out the rest of the cast, with an introduction to Cash's brother, Dylan. There is plenty of action and danger, some red herrings, a fun mystery, and no cliffhanger ending. Yes, a quick and fun read.

Tequila for Two is a funny paranormal romance/mystery that focuses mostly on Althea and her friends living in the small town of Tequila Key. In this installment, a group of Pagans are having a festival in the area and have descended on their home in huge numbers.

Despite a dead body showing up in very 'magical' looking circumstances, and lots of suspicion about the involvement of the Pagan group leader, Althea and Luna end up going to the festival with Miss Elva.

This one is a mixed bag because it goes deeper into the love triangle bit, despite it becoming more obvious that one of them is better suited to her. At the same time, in this book she is able to show some growth in her abilities - even if part of it was making a pretty big mistake.

The mystery element of this series isn't terribly mysterious, and I think most people will have sorted out the killer before the end, but it can be an enjoyable easy read.

I am hooked on this series! The characters are likeable and "fight evil" with their good magick. This time evil comes as the leader of a Pagan group meeting on Tequila Key. When he tries to steal Aletha, Luna, and Miss Elva's magick he is in for more than he bargained for, as they protect themselves and as many others around them as they can.

Bodies and possible boyfriend, Cash, compete for Thea's attention. With some interesting twists, you will find yourself racing to the end of this second in the series of exciting books. A new character slips through the veil and joins the friends as they try to take down the Pagan leader and solve the murders.
Exciting and fun in a continuing series.

Casting a circle

Althea Rose is a psychic tarot reader who also possesses magick. Her best friend Luna is a powerful white witch. Both of them stand in awe of Miss Elva, a powerful voodoo priestess. When Luna tries to teach Althea how to cast a circle of protection, the rule is no alcohol. Althea thinks one drink will be harmless. As the casting goes awry, a pirate ghost named Rafe is accidentally brought to this world. Even worse, the next morning, a body with holes drilled into its skull and saplings planted in the holes is found in the circle. Now Althea, Luna and Miss Elva are on the hunt for a murderer. Accompanying them is Rafe who has a huge crush on Miss Elva. A humorous mystery with just the right amount of romance.

I read the first book in this series ages ago and didn't care enough for it to read the next book. When I saw book #2 in the Audible Plus catalog, I decided to give the series another chance... and my opinion hasn't changed.

I know a lot of other readers who love the series, so I'm not sure what the problem is for me. The MC is so ditzy she really rubs me the wrong way, but I don't think that's the whole problem. The mystery was good and I didn't figure out the killer until near the end of the book, but I would like to know what happened to the turtles!

The next book in the series is still available through Audible Plus, so I'll keep it in mind if/when I get *really desperate for an O book, but otherwise, I'll pass on reading more.

The excitement continues as Althea battles her love triangle and fights to uncover a murderer who has struck twice in the town. A radical pagan festival is going on, and Althea quickly crosses swords with the weird leader of the sect. The story introduces Rafe, a pirate spirit who appears after Althea botches a protection spell Luna is trying to teach her. After chasing Althea for a while, the pirate ghost meets the voodoo priestess, and falls in love. As in the first book of this series, there is a lot going on with several story threads intertwined. The characters are hilarious, and the suspense builds throughout the story as the various threads play out. A very enjoyable book.

Tequila Fun

I grabbed this book when I found it for two reasons. (1) I wanted a light, fun read and (2) I had read a fantastic non-cozy book by Tricia O'Mally set in Ireland. Imagine my surprise to find an author who can write a fantastic and suspenseful romance AND a fun cozy mystery both!

I love Althea Rose! She puts her foot in her mouth and screws up enough to remind me of myself. Althea is a psychic with a smattering of magick who gets herself into one mess after another. And besides that, she has to deal with being honest about herself with her new boyfriend.

Get it, you'll love her too.

Entertaining paranormal action mystery series

Entertaining paranormal action mystery series. A great cast of characters and an eclectic and entertaining storyline. Althea and one of her best friends Luna own a magic shop in a little Florida Key town. Althea is a psychic sorceress and Luna who is a white witch. There are a few supernatural around the small town they live in. Including a voodoo Queen Who is a bit more than she seems. You may even run into a ghost or two. Follow along as Althea Luna and her friends live life and solve murders mysteries and other trouble to come along. Extraordinarily entertaining check it out.

Horns and Turtles

We get to enjoy a bit more of Miss Elva in this story. She is such a wonderfully intricate character, I just love her.

Tricia O’Malley continued to build strong female characters through Althea, who just can’t help herself as she finds herself in yet another hot mess, and Luna, whose power is just starting to become obvious.

The story is not short of delicious men, as we get more Cash and Trace but also Dylan and the new Chief!

Definitely an excellent follow up to book 1. Can’t wait to dive into 3.

Enchanting Mystery

This series is as fun and exciting as you can get. I'm not a fan of magic and spells but love the excitement and predicaments that the main characters, Althea and Luna, get themselves into. If course I can't leave out the rest of the hilarious characters who all play a part in solving mysteries and murders in Tequia Key. Looking forward to reading book three in this series!

A good follow up in the series.

I love all the characters that make up Tequila Bay. They are funny, quirky and completely loveable. This mystery was not as good as the one from the first book but it was great getting to see more of Ms Elva and a new friend named Rafe. Althea is as klutzy and insecure as ever but hopefully we will continue to see her grow as an individual over the course of the series. Overall, a fun, quick read.

HA! This book was amusing. Zoe is stuck in a sort of love triangle and is mostly confused about all of it. Her best friend is a witch and trying to teach her how to manager her OWN power – that she didn’t know she had. Miss Elva gets involved with a ghost. Oh and there’s a crazy pagan dude running around with horns glued to his head. All in all, though, there’s some serious things going on in Tequila Key too. Murder, mayhem and kidnapped people. Makes for a really fun read!

Very enjoyable

Two books into the series and I am pretty hooked. These are full of interesting character that I want to know more about. They are fun relatively light detective stories with a touch of witchcraft thrown in set in the Florida keys.

The series is kind of Stephanie Plum meets Harry Dresden (Dresden files) with a splash of Carl Hiaasen. They are just fun enjoyable books,

I loved this second in the series book. The interaction between the three female characters was often hysterically entertaining. Althea's casual demeanor in direct opposition to the seriousness of what was going on was very amusing.

The mystery itself had me thrown for a small period but I knew the villain (no spoilers) would be coming back around when he was introduced so it wasn't a total shock.

Can't wait to read the next in this series.

Well written, unusual, exciting!

I have read an amazing amount of urban and humorous modern fantasy and this series totally blows me away! Very fresh characters and situations, a tasteful streak of steamy, and the cutest dog I've yet to meet. Thank God for Kindle Unlimited because I absolutely Must read all of the series. Makes vampire and wizard fiction seem stale by comparison. Go, go quickly...read them!!!

Fun

This is the second book in a series about Althea Rose, a psychic, and her friends, Luna, a white witch, Miss Elva, a voodoo priestess, and other denizens of the small Florida key where the series is set. This is not a literary fireball, but it’s a good, entertaining read — just the thing for lazy summer days. I really enjoyed it, can’t wait for more.
