It’s hard to resist a good old-fashioned treasure hunt.

And far be it from Althea Rose to do so. Even if her boyfriend, Cash, is less than thrilled about it. When an esteemed institute in London hires Althea and her dive master buddy, Trace, to document a high-stakes treasure expedition, they are pulled into game that neither of them had realized they were playing.

In a race to find a rare Aztec emerald lost on a sunken pirate ship, Althea is forced to use every trick in her book to stay alive.

Even magick.

What a great adventure! I loved this installment. Did it have magick ?...Yes it did, but it was much more about the adventure of finding treasures on sunken ships and threats of people who wanted to get their hands on the loot.
I'm just a bit disappointed at where the relationship between Cash and Althea is heading but then on the other hand this opens up other opportunities...

Althea Rose and her band of misfit friends are treading dangerous waters as they are commissioned to assist in finding shipwrecked treasure sending her relationship with Cash straight for the rocks. Emotional turmoil, murder, intrigue, double cross and so much more are in the cards for our favorite gang of Florida misfits! This audio series just keeps getting more entertaining! I can't wait to see what happens in book 4!

Great mystery and entertaining characters. This time the mystery involves sunken treasure and lots of diving. I have loved every book but I think this is my favourite so far. Mysterious new characters, romance angst and powerful artifacts. I just love this series! What I enjoy most is that each book is unique. The mysteries are well thought out and presented in a way that lets me participate. So much fun!

Anywayyyy this was a quick treasure hunting mystery, Althea needs to do a lot of growing for a grown woman and hopefully this whole live triangle is over. Rafe is a hoot and his disgust with Hank is hilarious, he obviously knows a lot about the treasures so they need to learn to ask him things directly!

Loved this! Probably my favorite in the series so far. Lots of fun and I love the dynamic with Thea and Trace. There was a lot of drama as well, which was nice because it helped to keep me guessing the entire time.

Aletha and Trace have been diving together at least twice a week for years. It gives Trace an opportunity to dive for enjoyment without the responsibility of watching the charter people he usually takes out. It gives Thea the chance to take underwater pictures for that part of her business. While mutually good, recently their strong friendship has been ruffled by Trace's interest in something more personal from Thea. She is trying to decide what is going on with Cash, and puts Trace off.
Meanwhile, they are hired to lead a treasure hunt for a large emerald lost 200 years ago in a shipwreck. What they get instead is murder and threats and all sorts of unpleasantness!

This exciting mystery has best friends, romance, and magick with ghostly help. The treasure hunt is exciting and you feel like you are on the dive with Aletha and Trace. It makes the popular fantasy come to life through the author's wonderful descriptive writing.

Be sure to read this series in order so you know the characters and all they have shown they are capable of in the past. Then get ready for some more twists, turns, and surprises!

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review.

I give this story 5 Stars, this is my favorite in the series so far. I just love Rafe and I can hear him in a puzzled Pirate’s growl “You didn’t ask”! Once again Althea has gotten herself into trouble and this time she’s taking Trace along for the ride, or maybe he’s at fault for this one. Chase on the other hand is turning into a real horse’s behind, someone needs to slap some sense into that whiny boy or ban him from Tequila and don’t get me started on his lovely family.

It was fun to spend time again with the kind hearted but totally kooky people of Tequila Key. I’m hoping we’ll get another installment in the series soon with some HEA’s for our favorite citizens. Hmm… I wonder if they make a spell for giving a repentant ghost a second chance at life and love?

3.5 stars, rounded up

I read the first two books in this series and to be honest, wasn’t overly impressed. But because of the O author, and because this book was available for free from Audible+, I left it on my to-read shelf. Maybe I’m in a different frame of mind now, or maybe this story wasn’t as annoying as the first two, but I liked this book more than expected.

Althea, the MC, and her friend Luna, are nearly polar opposites, but they complement each other. I love Miss Elva, Rafe the pirate ghost, and Hank the Boston terrier, but could do without Cash, Althea’s so-called boyfriend, who doesn’t want to accept her for who she is.

Althea and her business partner, Trace, are hired to dive for and photograph what amounts to buried treasure. Only after they accept the job do they learn that these specific jewels are supposed to be cursed, which appears to be the case when a person related to the job is found murdered. Because they are the primary suspects, Althea and Trace, with help from their friends, are determined to find the real killer.

There were several serious suspects, each with their own motive, and plenty of red herrings to throw us off the track. I had one person firmly at the top of my list, but I was proven wrong. The identity of the actual culprit surprised me, although I probably should have figured it out before it was revealed in the book.

Now I have a dilemma on my hands. Knowing that the next book in this series is no longer available as a free listen from Audible+, do I add it to my already overflowing to-read shelf and hope I can find it elsewhere?

A lovely day for a sail in Tequila Key

Althea and Trace are contacted by an English professor who is chasing a shipwreck which went down off the coast of Tequila Key over two hundred years ago containing a magnificent haul of emeralds. Of course being Althea things are never straight forward, the main stone La Serpienta is cursed, but that's not going to stop Althea and Trace taking part in the most exciting dive of their lives, and getting paid handsomely for it. As always though it's not long before things start to go wrong, they find out there's a curse, not just an old pirates take but a proper curse, then the man who hired them is found dead. Cash thinks Althea should walk away, he's begining to get frustrated by the way deadly trouble always finds Althea lately and he's not wrong her life has changed dramatically since they met but Miss Elvi says they can't walk away the whole world will be in danger of the wrong people gain possession of the emerald and release the power within it, so Althea has no choice but to do whatever it takes to make sure they find and keep the emerald safe even if it might mean the end for her and Cash.

Althea Rose is a psychic and has somewhat recently discovered she's a witch too. She and her friend Luna have a beautiful shop, Luna's side, and tarot reading, Althea's side, in their hometown of Tequila Key. Thea also dives with her friend Trace and does underwater photography. When she and Trace are hired for a dive job and pictures, it seems to be a treasure hunt and they're excited. At least until the man that hires them is murdered and both of their homes are broken into! Between the neice of the dead man being a pain and other weird things going on, there's a mystery to be solved. Althea and friends come together to get it solved. There's lots of adventure, scary thrills and laugh out loud moments in Three Tequilas. I totally enjoyed it and will definitely be reading more of the Tequila Key series. I definitely recommend this book.

Thrilled

I have to admit, I wasn't a huge fan of the second book in this series, but this one was oceans better. Tricia O'Malley is an incredible author who tells incredible stories, but in the second book, it was Althea's, in my opinion, catty and self-centered behavior that I could not stand. Every person has flaws, but I felt that book showcased them too often. It was so refreshing to see her grow in this book, and I suppose, knowing where she was, that growth means much more for her having been there. This story was a page turner and had me laughing aloud at several points. I'm genuinely excited to continue reading now.

Funny and light hearted. Except for the antics between Thea and Cash. He’s decided to be a jerk this book. Sad! Anyway, I love that even though there was a death this book, it focused more so on a different mystery. Pirates and treasure hunting is always fun! Less of Luna and Beau this time around, but more of Miss Elva, who, let’s face it, is serious, but also amazing comic relief! Little bit of background on Rafe too, which was cool. Overall, I’d say it was the best book yet. It also feels to me that it is leading up to something. Magic, yes, but something else too. Like a huge mystery to be solved by the end of the series – whenever that may be. I’m looking forward to it.

There is not much to be said about this great book. Althea and Trace are hired to dive a few wreck sites in search of a priceless emerald that turns out to be two and of course with the evil intents of some who follow them and threaten them. With the help of their friends and a ghost it all ends up well. But it looks like Cash might be out of Althea’s life for good... Is he? I love this series and can relate to all the joys and scares of scuba diving. I just feel I’m the one down there with them. Great story again. But I don’t want to say too much. No spoilers. Can’t wait to get to the next one! Very well deserved 5 stars.

Althea and Trace gear up to take on a diving treasure hunt for a really big payday, and right out the gate they discover a dead body involved in the expedition. But does that put them off their search for a sunken pirate ship and some magical rare emeralds owned by an Aztec God? Of course not!

This was a great romp, and one of my favorites in this series so far. I really like Trace, and I was glad to see him be a focus of this book in a way that meshed so perfectly with Althea's personality. And who could tell a pirate story without plenty of time with the Tequila Key resident pirate ghost? He definitely makes it an entertaining story.

I enjoyed this third book in the Althea Rose Mystery Series. The conflict between Althea and Cash added to an undercurrent. The mystery itself was interesting as I enjoy a good treasure hunt just like the next person.

There were twists and turns between the characters and the mystery started quickly. O'Malley wove the premise into the dialogue and interspersed it with every day conflict and romance which kept it nicely in the Cozy category for me.

The way the main characters have developed just throughout the first three books has been amazing and I would love to spend an evening with them.

It took me a couple days to read this in between my job and taking care of my kids, but I finally did it and it was great! Since I just read the end I’ll begin there with my review. I’m so happy for Rafe and his “lovemountain” lololol. Rafe adds quite a bit of character to these stories. I always love stories involving ghosts that only few can see.

It was a bit touch and go for awhile there with the “English” woman. She was shady.

Then there’s Cash…sigh. That is a sad tale, but maybe for the best. I don’t care either way, just as long as Althea is happy in her choices and doesn’t get herself killed!

Next is a lil Novella, book 3.5 Tequila Shots & Valentine Knots.

Treasure hunt

This book takes althea on a treasure hunt.plus she asks herself hard questions about how different her and cash is.I found that kind of sad he doesn't want her in danger but being she can read people she is always in danger when bad people come to town afraid she will figure them out.I would of liked it better if her and Luna was consultants to the police.not some Nancy drew.I liked her comment about Scooby doo gang.some humour in this is funny.
I don't like the kiss others when in relationship or soft of relationship.what about trace and sienna shouldn't she comment on that?

I’ve loved every book in this series but this one fell short. Even though I love the characters and the mix of magic and mystery, this storyline felt rushed and not well developed.

I really liked the idea of a treasure hunt and wanted to find out more about El Serpiente. Unfortunately, the story went nowhere and I was left feeling underwhelmed with the ending.

Too bad because I really wanted to like this one.

Excellent

This book was really great! How very pleasing to find out that Althea is finely maturing and not such a bitchy brat and nowhere near as stupid as she seemed in previous books. Tricia is an awesome writer and makes all the characters in her books seem so real that it's easy to feel personally involved and in a good way. I really didn't like Althea in the first two Tequila books but am glad that she has chaned for the better. Great read!!

The third book in this series was better than the second one. I laughed at some of the thing that happened in this light paranormal cozy mystery. There were some things that were very obvious to me. Such as being followed because of a locator attached to the boat. Why put the location on the ships computer when you know that the docks have no security? But overall enjoyed the book.

Loved it!!!

I am totally enjoying the Althea Rose series! Having a love for the ocean, book 3 has been my favorite so far. If you have not read the first 2 in the series, they are both fantastic and I recommend you do first to really get to know Althea, the series main character! I'm off to read book 4.

Another great book in the Althea Rose Series!

Tricia does it again with another wonderful book in the Althea Rose series! Each addition proved to be better than the last as you get to know the characters more and more. The author has a way of pulling you into the story, yet she still keeps the characters always a step ahead of you. I can't wait to jump into the next book!

Fun and entertaining story. I was apprehensive about the series at first as this type of boomerang my go to, but glad I bought the first book. Looking forward to reading all of them!

Great series so fun. Can hardly wait to see where Althea Rose and her friends venture next. Relaxing entertainment for me.

I had to take a break from reading “literary” books during my crazy busy season at work. I am so happy I found this well-written, fun, paranormal cozy mystery series. I have emphasize “well-written.” Cozy mysteries get a bad rap sometimes, but more often than not, the writing is good and the characters are surprisingly well developed. I love good book candy.

This is the best one in the series so far. The characters are established and developing. This time the mystery involves Thea and Trace diving for a sunken Aztec artifacts. Along with some help from the ghost pirate Rafe, the diving duo find lots of answers along the bottom of the ocean. This one was a lot of fun!
