After what I’ve been through in the last year, there’s nothing I’d like better than for everyone to leave me the hell alone so I can figure out what’s going on. Sure, things have calmed down a little. Haven is mine and Lacey and Maia are settling into their new lives. Well, for the most part anyway.

The only problem is that I can’t seem to shake off the feeling that something big is coming, and if I take my exorcist’s word for it, it’s something I might not be ready to deal with. Yeah, I said exorcist. A bad feeling isn’t the only thing I can’t shake, the fingerprints of an older magic are still lingering on my soul, and I don’t like admitting that I need help… but I need some serious help.

To top it all off, things aren’t exactly calm in New York, and leaving Maia and Lacey behind while I’m getting a magical spa treatment is anything but ideal. I’m sure they can handle the shop on their own, but I’m not so sure they’ll be able to handle the vampires.

Ophelia Turner is still feeling the effects of her brush with an ancient Daughter, and her attempts to have the malevolent presence exorcised from her life are taking more of a toll than she's willing to admit. After a brush with Meridian in New Orleans, Ophelia begins to realize that there is something bigger being planned, and the safest place for her and her friends is as far away from New York as possible.  But sometimes, the best plans are entirely impractical.

Trapped between a Laudan civil war, a moody teenager, and a baby bat that has bitten off more than she can handle, Ophelia will have to make hard decisions and split second choices that will affect not only her life, but the lives of everyone she's ever loved.

And she might not survive it.

This was the most action packed book of the series. I mean, all of the previous books had a lot of action in them, but this one was just wow. And again, the author managed to keep the action going from three vantage points, which was amazing.
Eli and Bishop were barely present which allowed the story to focus on the witches and the baby vampire. Unlike the previous books, this one does not have a calm time before the storm, this story starts off with a storm. The author did a fantastic job keeping the fast pace whilst still working on further character development and the relationships between characters.
Ophelia, Lacey and Maia are in a lot of trouble due to the issues from the previous book. The war is brewing, each one of them is trying to figure out the way to overcome the challenges and deal with the issues at hand, and Vivienne is landing help in hand from New Orleans. I love all four of these characters, with their distinct personalities, and the relationships they build with each other.
There were a lot of unresolved issues from the previous book and some of them are slowly unraveling, but some mystery remains, I can't wait for the next book. Warning for cliffhanger haters, this book ends with a worst cliffhanger ever, and I loved it! I still think this is one of the the best series out there.
The series makes most sense if read in order, which is: Witchmark (Daughters of Hecate 0.5), Sticks & Stones (Daughters of Hecate, #1), Moonlight Burns (Daughters of Hecate Book 2), Power of Three (Daughters of Hecate Book 3), Vampire Punk (Daughters of Hecate Book companion novella), and upcoming Haven (Daughters of Hecate #4) and upcoming Sands of Time (Daughters of Hecate #5) and Dark Path (Daughters of Hecate Companion Novella).

This book starts off with a kick and doesn’t slow down. Although they may have killed Magdaleana she is still around, haunting Fee. Fee doesn’t want to let anyone know how bad this is affecting her but it seems it’s going to take a lot to make Magdaleana disappear. Lacey has not returned to Spinal and the other vampires think she is acting too good for them. So they are not going to let this perceived slight go without retribution. Maia is trying to look good for Fee while helping Lacey out but she has her own issues. She is obsessed with the book she took in Spain.

This book jumps in right at the end of Power of Three. Fee is haunted and trying to completely get rid of Magdaleana. She hates asking for help but she is haunted and worried what she has left lingering on her. If that wasn’t tough enough, then there is the vampires with their feathers ruffled and trying to kill the girls. Plus it doesn’t help that there is a war on the horizon but the girls are still looking for more information which puts them in the front lines.

I really liked this book. The action kept my interest and the story had me flipping pages like crazy. I this crazy family and hope that they are going to come out of this war. But it’s not going to be easy and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.

Meredith Medina is one of the best urban fantasy writers around, and the very best at multiple POV writing. The Daughters of Hecate series is a wondefully unique and refreshing look at the witching world through the creative style of Ms. Medina. This latest adventure is filled with magical warfare as vampires attack, and ancient shadows lurk to seek vengeance! This is not a book to miss.

Though things should be good now that Ophelia owns Haven and the girls, Maia and Lacy are out of her apartment and settled above the shop. Somehow she just can't shake the feeling that bad things are coming.

She still feels the touch of the crone they defeated shadowing her mind. Even with Vivienne's help she hasn't quite gotten rid of her. Will that evil witch ever be completely put to rest?

Then there is the trouble with the vampires. They killed a number of Meridian's children in New Orleans, but Ophelia is sure he is making more trouble here. When will he make his move? No one will be safe then! Will the wards hold against their enemies?

There is a battle coming! Join the Daughters of Hecate for the adventure of a lifetime.

I’ve been waiting anxiously for this book and isn’t that such a gorgeous cover?, this is the best book so far in this series and I was so excited to read it. I’m not going to give any spoilers this book is just too good to give any and knowing me I will get carried away with myself and give out too much. This is not a standalone you do need to read them in order but let me tell you it’s worth it. This story starts off with a bang there’s action galore from the first page I loved it. I think I swore when I got to the end and there was a cliffhanger lol, but Meredith knows how to keep you in suspense but if you want to know more then read the blurb and that will give you the gist to this story. A fantastic entertaining story a 5 plus +++++ ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

CHIP, CHIP, CHIPPING AWAY!!!
If you're looking for an action packed, fast paced, hard hitting, thrill seeking, page turning bombshell that hooks you from the start and reels you in for the duration. Congratulations my friends you've found it. Yep! Right here, this bad boy hits harder than a freight train at maximum speed. You're on a wild rollercoaster ride with a realism that's both startling and believable. All the twists and turns and unexpected surprises that keeps the suspense and danger hugging the curb without any traction. As the tension builds and tempers flare the outcome isn't going to be pretty. Meredith is on a roll and from where I'm sitting everything is about to come together in such a powerful and explosive blast. The question is who's going to be the last one standing when the dust settles. Meredith did an amazing job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Great job Meredith, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us

It was sad seeing the girls disjointed still. However they were a bit more bonded. Keeping secrets is never good, as all three learn in the book. I'm fascinated by the fact that they are being pushed towards Hecate. The Laudans are disappointing, especially Bishop. Seeing a glimpse of the Laudans connection to Hecate and why they don't like the Daughters was intriguing. I look forward to reading more in the next and last book. I received this book at no charge and all opinions are my own.

Book 4 in the Daughters of Hecate series, Haven sees our favourite trio once again in dire straits. The story is action packed and filled with danger, while Ophelia, Lacey and Maia struggle to come to terms with what the future may hold.

The book is well written and continues the story beautifully, adding just enough information from the history of Hecate and the beginning of the Daughter's to intrigue the reader, with a great build up for the big finale in book 5.

I don't know how Meredith Medina does it, but this book had me raring to read every word. I couldn't have read it quicker. I love this series so much, and I can't describe the feeling I got when I read at the end of the book that there would only be one book left til the end of the series. I'm really excited to see what other series Meredith has in store for us. (I'm also itching to have physical copies of these books, I hope it happens one day!)

The action just keeps coming in this series! This time around, the author focuses mostly on Maia and Ophelia, with just enough vamp action to keep us vampire lovers happy!

Ophelia is still suffering from her encounter with the evil Magdalena and enlists the help of Vivienne, a witch in New Orleans. Let me just say that I love her character! Having spent time in New Orleans, this character is totally appropriate for that area!

Maia is still trying to learn to use her newly found powers, but Ophelia is so caught up in her own problems that she isn't much help. And, poor Lacey is still trying to figure out how to be a vampire.

The conflict between the Daughters of Hecate and the Laudans is still present and heating up in this book. I did miss Eli, since he wasn't present for most of this installment. But, there is plenty of magic, visions, action, and more. Ophelia and Maia are both growing more powerful, but to what end? And, poor Lacey just keeps falling deeper and deeper into her situation.

Favorite quotes:

"I'm not a big fan of the feed lot. Free range tastes better."
"Haven't you seen any movies? The minute you read anything aloud, serious s**t goes down."
"You, Lacey and Maia are the fulfillment of everything the goddess intended for you."

The author does a wonderful job with her character and story development. This is the type of book that makes you want to read as fast as possible to see what happens next. But, you have to slow down to savor each and every scene.

I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I am sure that the ending will be awesome!
