Con esta lectura termino mi racha de buena suerte * suspira *.
En esta ocasion no disfrute tanto de la lectura, me parecio muy precipitada ( incluso para lo que me tienen acostumbrada estas autoras ) y me hubiera dejado mas satisfecha si las autoras hubieran desarrollado mejor la trama, me dio la impresion de que algunas partes estaban tomadas con pinzas.
En resumen, no entra dentro de la lista de las mas destacables de Alexa Riley.

Not going to lie here, the whole story in general gave me the weird creeper vibes even though it wasn't written in that way at all.. I ended up not being able to get over it. Of course it was an incredibly fast read so I didn't really have much time to get with the program. Major has fallen for his daughters high school friend Annie. Full disclosure I knew what to expect from book one and still went ahead and read it.. So there is that.
Major comes home from his dangerous mission, surviving only on thoughts of Annie at home, to finding her gone. Now he has to go and find her but to his surprise its not just her he rescues. Annie has been hiding a secret from him. He is bound and determined nothing will get in the way of his HEA and the author is quite obliging in that area. lol.
In all honesty I feel like this shouldn't be a book of its own as its more like an epilogue off the last book but whatevs!

I’m going to say this for one I already knew what was going down, even before Eli did or maybe when he did...Because for one, when I was reading book two... Maggie father told Alice she looked beautiful he definitely was checking her out and staying claim to what he knew belonged to him... then when she walks in the kitchen or was it the living room? I forgot, but when she walked in when Eli and Maggie walked into the kitchen to meet her, her face was flush...
Not only that when she was sitting in the chair, and Thomas (Maggie dad) was squatting down between Alice's legs... you could tell something was up, even when Alice states that her mom boyfriend hit her in the head... I had a feeling something was up with them. For one Alice was acting so weird, then with her throwing up when Maggie walked in to check on her... clearly Maggie didn’t see any signs of pregnancy...when everyone knows that’s one of the symptoms of a pregnancy... bad enough Alice was acting weird when Thomas disappeared literally crying more than Maggie but Maggie didn’t see it she was to blinded by Eli 🤣.... then after she got Eli back she halfway care and was wondering what was going on with Alice... I think Eli knew all along; minus the baby especially when Thomas came back and found out Alice disappeared...
But at least in the end; Maggie accepted Alice being with her dad, and giving more a brother and two more brothers, but also making Thomas a granddad and giving Eli a family that he always wanted...

Thomas was held up from a rescue mission. Alice was pregnant and can’t stand worrying about Thomas’s safety so she left. Thomas brought her home and fucked her so she got the memo she will not leave him again. They told Maggie, his adopted daughter about their relationship. 6 years later, they played with ties.

Se por um lado adorei a história de Eli e Maggie em Hr Touch, por outro não consegui gostar nem um bocadinho do casal (Alice e Thomas) deste livro que está diretamente relacionado com o do outro livro. Já desconfiava deste relacionamento à medida que fui lendo Her Touch e desde logo aquela relação me soou muito pouco convincente e não tem nada a ver com a diferença de idades dos personagens, só não consegui mesmo nada gostar deles, nem tão pouco identificar-me.
Ainda bem que era um conto, caso contrário acho que não teria terminado esta leitura.

HERO /HEROINE:
Alice grew up in an abusive household and didn't have friends. Until she met Maggie and Maggie brought her home to meet her family. Alice fell in love instantly.
Thomas is committed to his career, his country, and his adopted daughter Maggie. He never loved a woman or felt like his family was lacking in any way. Until his daughter brought home her best friend. He took one look at Alice and he knew he's been waiting for her his whole life
OVERALL THOUGHTS:
Alice was a broken character in Her Touch and I was so happy that she was able to find a safe place to live and also the secret romance with her and her bff's dad.
In this story she is very emotional and alone. Even though the reader knows Alice would never lose Maggie or Thomas, we could still understand that she is a sweet character and has had her heartbroken so many times by the people who are supposed to protect her. At the end of the day, she's a scared, and pregnant teenager.
Thomas finds her and lays it all out, he wants this baby, he wants Alice more, he'll love and protect her forever and he'll never let her go.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
We did not get a full length story of their secret taboo love affair and it makes me sad.

Esta es la resolución de la historia del Comandante y Alice. No puedo decir q sea la gran cosa xq la mayor parte ya lo pudimos adivinar en Her Touch y para lo poco q resultó esto, no hacía falta q se tomaran la molestia de hacer dos libros separados. Podrían haber hecho una sola historia con ambas parejas y aprovechar para darle todavía más sustancia; xq lo de Alice y Thomas resulta interesante pero no lo llegan a explotar todo lo q se podía. En "Her Touch" xq los únicos q hablaban eran Eli&Maggie y aquí xq lo poco q hablaron Alice&Thomas solo fue desde la mitad de la historia.

I didn't feel this story. I was excited to read it, but didn't feel any chemistry. I think because I wanted to know about encounters from the first book (the bbq when Thomas and Eli spoke, Alice dressing up before the mall, etc) This story made Alice seem very weak, so it didn't make sense for Thomas to be so in love with her. It was still cute, I just needed a longer story, and though I will re-read the first book, I won't with this one

I already gave a positive review for this story at the end of Her Touch”. I still maintain that review her. Classic AR romance gold!

I felt like Alice and Thomas' story was rushed a lot. They deserved a longer narrative about how they ended up together—even though there would have been many recapitulations of previous events from Eli and Maggie's book.

This was a bonus book from Her Touch it is super short and again sweet right up Alexa Riley's normal The Major is Maggie's Dad and Alice is Maggie's best friend. I just wish we could have gotten an entire book for this couple. Very cute and Major is a perfect Alpha to Alice's sweetness.
