Joe hopes he can salvage his relationship with his sister by finding her the perfect birthday gift. Unfortunately, the gift he makes her comes with a surprise of its own—and it’s definitely not the kind either of them want.
Now an ancient evil has returned to the world, and its singular aim is to release death and destruction—to punish all, whether they deserve it or not.
Tied to those who released its bonds, the spirit must first seek its revenge on Joe and his sister. If they fail to stop this immortal terror, then the rest of the world won’t be far behind them.
But how can you stop something you can’t even see, let alone kill?
Beware the ancient evil lurking beneath the glass! Caroline Clark has done it again, turned out another uniquely terrifying book that will have you tempted to cover your mirrors. Her writing style makes the fantasy so real you will be looking over your shoulder and leaving the lights on.
Joe and his older sister share a traumatic childhood. He loves her, wishing only to make her proud and protect her, now that they are adults. Joe is a craftsman, creating things of utility and beauty from reclaimed wood. However when he makes his sister's birthday gift from wood and a reclaimed mirror he chances upon unknowingly, at first, outside the scene of a gruesome family murder, an ancient evil is about to be unleashed.
This spirit feeds on the pain, suffering and death of others, targeting first those that release him from the mirror. Joe finds himself battling this immortal being to save his sister's life and his own. If it cannot be stopped this evil will keep killing all it comes in contact with, until it consumes humanity!
How can Joe and his small group of friends fight such a powerful being? One with the ability to travel through reflections? One that can't be killed? Grab this book and join the fight, but be warned, you may never look at mirrors the same again.
I tried reading this book late into the night but I was so creeped out, let me be honest here; scared, that I would only read it during daylight hours. Looking into a mirror on a regular basis is rather difficult for me now. This author not only twists and turns her storyline, she also twists the boundaries of imagination to create stories that play wicked games with your mind.
Joe loves his sister and friends to the point where it can sometimes be suffocating but that’s his nature as he always wants to save everyone. He dumpster dives to create beautiful things, including his sister’s birthday gift. However, little does he know that in what he sees as beauty lies a malevolent evil and severe repercussions are the ultimate outcome.
I highly recommend this book to all lovers of horror! -The Voluptuous Book Diva

A very creepy, very compelling story that will keep you awake all night... and maybe some extra nights too.
Very well written, and with appealing characters, this story about a birthday gif that is more than it looks is perfect for all of us who rejoice in horror stories, and I recommend it whole-heartedly.
What an amazing story to keep you up. Loved it. Joe tries to salvage the relationship with his sister by getting her a special gift. Unfortunately it turns out to be something neither of them expected. Don’t miss out.
Having read several other books by this author & thoroughly enjoying them, I was highly disappointed to find that I didn't like the storyline in this book, it was tedious, uninteresting & nothing about it really caught my interest...so much so I'll admit I struggled to finish it.
This terrifying tale will have you covering mirrors & shrinking from reflections in no time. Great read with some unexpected twist. And just when you think it’s over.... it’s not.
I love this author! She can really tell a scary tale. I love the action, the fear and victory that the novel contains. I would definitely recommend this book to those who love a good scary story.
Wow!! Another awesome book by Caroline Clark! Held me spellbound until the very end! I wasn't sure that it would end the way it did! I can't wait to read another book by this author!
