The Legal Affairs Boxed Set #1-5

Rate this book
The Legal Affairs Boxed Set is a sinfully sexy collection of five sizzling novels. Whether it’s a steamy workplace romance or an enemies-to-lovers romance you seek, the Legal Affairs Boxed Set has you covered! This boxed set includes:

Legal Affairs: McKayla’s Story—Two days ago, I had a torrid one-night stand with a stranger. Today, he’s my new boss. Matt Connover is all kinds of forbidden temptation wrapped up in a deliciously wicked package, and he’s made it clear… he’s only interested in sex. Between you and me, I’m afraid my heart won’t survive these Legal Affairs.

Confessions of a Litigation God: Matt’s Story—My name is Matt Connover. I am a Litigation God. Other lawyers quake before me. Women crawl on their knees just to spend the night in my bed and when I’m finished with them, I walk away without a backward glance. I am well satisfied with my life and there isn’t a damn thing I’d change about it. That is, until McKayla Dawson came along.

Clash (Book 1 of Cal and Macy’s Story)— It might be fair to say that I despise Macy Carrington. We clash in a battle of wills every time we’re around each other, and yet… I still fantasize about being lodged deep within her body.
I have never encountered someone that grates me the way Cal Carson does. Any interaction with “Saint Cal” ends in a verbal clash of epic proportions, and yet… there’s no one I’d rather have in my bed than him.

Grind (Book 2 of Cal and Macy’s Story)— Macy Carrington is not the woman I once thought her to be. I’ve done things with her that would never have crossed my wildest imagination, and I can’t ever seem to get enough.
Cal Carson is not the man I once thought him to be. He is my fantasy. But no matter how hard Cal tries to grind me down, my heart and secrets are mine and mine alone.

Yield (Book 3 of Cal and Macy’s Story)— Macy Carrington is broken. The strong, beautiful woman that I’ve unwittingly fallen in love with is all kinds of broken from a secret that she has carried for far too long. A secret so dark, she has gone to great lengths to protect it. A secret that I’m terrified will one day rip her away from me. If she would only yield to me completely, I know I can set her free.

What a fantastic box set! I've only read Matt and Mac's story so far, but am excited for Cal and Macy next! Here are my reviews for the first 2 books.

Legal Affairs
I don't know what took me so long to read this, but once I started, I didn't want to stop! McKayla (Mac) and Matt's story was a mix of taboo (boss & employee) and even a bit of enemies to lovers. Their sexual chemistry is undeniable, but what happens when a one night stand turns out to be so much more than these two bargained for?

Honestly, I had a love/hate relationship with both Mac and Matt. I loved Mac's determination and sass, but sadly it would mysteriously disappear any time Matt wanted something. For too much of the book I felt like Mac was a doormat and even when she recognized it, she still let her desire for sex override any rational thought. Matt was a sexy alpha, but I found his bravado and cavalier attitude a little grating as the story progressed. I understand that he's closed himself off emotionally and is a brooding hero, but often times he was just a plain jerk to Mac. He did have his moments though, when his armor fell away, and I loved that Matt so much. I'm hoping the next book, Confessions of a Litigation God, will shed more light on what he was thinking and help me understand him better. As much as I enjoyed Mac's POV, I think I would have loved this book if Matt's POV had been incorporated into the story (versus being a separate book). Overall, this was a sexy and entertaining read!

Confessions of a Litigation God
This book is essentially Legal Affairs in Matt's POV, but there are also never before scenes between Matt and Mac as well as other characters in the book and an extended epilogue. I definitely loved finally getting inside of Matt's head since there were plenty of times in Legal Affairs that I was dying to know what he was thinking.

I generally enjoy reading the male POV more and Sawyer Bennett writes it so well! Honestly, finally having Matt's inner dialogue was both a blessing and a curse for me. On the one hand, it shed so much light onto his reactions and decisions, but it also often showed how callous, manipulative, angry, and just plain mean he was to everyone especially Mac. I'm still having a hard time with some of the half truths and straight up lies he told Mac. He didn't help his cause by briefly considering the possibility of a threesome with Macy, having sex with Mac and then perusing (though not initiating anything on) the One Night Only site, or allowing Kylie to openly flirt with him in front of Mac (even though he did not reciprocate). I know that the selfish, arrogant, and closed off Matt is not truly who he is, but I just thought he was a dog for the majority of the book. I understand that he solved many of his "issues" with sex, but it got really old and being privy to all of his sexual thoughts and desires was overwhelming. There were times I really wanted to throw my kindle and tell Matt to just F off, but there were others where I really felt so sad for him and could sympathize with how emotionally closed off he had become. Thankfully, the epilogue really saved him and readers finally got to see the confidant, kind, and loving side of him. I really enjoyed seeing certain scenes from his POV and also getting details on scenes that occurred off the page in Legal Affairs. Overall, this was an engaging and entertaining story and I'm glad readers got both Matt and Mac's POV's.

5 stars for the first two, and 4.5 stars for Cal and Macy's story. While Cal and Macy's story is hot, there's also a lot more drama going on, and at times it feels a little like a soap opera. I enjoyed it, but not as much as Matt and Mac's story. Macy was significantly less mature than the three lawyers and I found it difficult to sympathize with her actions at times. But it's a well written book (or three books as the case may be) and Cal was well developed enough to make me understand why he would put up with a hot mess like Macy, and she did finally redeem herself. This set is worth buying and reading.

Having read the first two books in this series, I had to grab the box set so I could read them all over again with the other three novellas. It is a treat when they are all boxed up and in one place to discover.

The first is MaKayla's POV on her relationship with Matt.
The second is Matt's POV, and I felt it was more intriguing than the first.
Their relationship was steamy for sure, but also had a few rocky moments of insecurities and immaturity. Personal growth and reassurance along with communication was the key for this couple to get their HEA.

The next three books are Cal and Macey's tale. This one kept me absorbed completely wanting to know more about this opposites attract couple. I fell more attracted to Cal with every book, and my heart broke for poor Macey's and her back story.

I am hard pressed to decide which is my favourite couple. It might take a re read of them all again to make up my mind.

Why it took me so long to read these books is beyond me! Sawyer Bennett just gave me the best box set I’ve read!

McKayla and Matt are the first couple we meet and they are pure sex from the get go. Their chemistry is simply amazing and I was hooked from the moment they met. There were plenty of times I wanted to punch Matt in the face but my god, what a story! I also loved reading Matt’s POV.

The second part is Cal and Macy, which again had amazing chemistry because the absolutely hated each other!! Each with their own issues, both of them broke my heart.

I am completely and utterly smitten with this box set and it will be a definite re-read for me!

I read these as individual stories, so here is my reviews for each story:
*Legal Affairs: McKayla's Story
This is one of those stories that will keep you glued to your reader. And perfection between Matt and Mac. Mac is fresh out of a bad relationship and out of law school by a year. Her roommate gets her to join a dating service that specializes in one night stands. Mac is reluctant but does it anyway, time to move on with her life. When she meets the man and they begin their night together, she realizes it is what she needed. One night and no strings attached. But nothing goes according to plan. When the law firm she works for is bought out by a bigger company, she meets her new boss and guess what. Yes he is her one night stand. And when all hell breaks loose, they can't stay away from each other. There are a lot of different emotions while reading this one, from happy, funny, pain, hurt and sometimes you will want to kill Matt. Just pick this one up and enjoy the ride that Sawyer Bennett will take you on, it is well worth it.
* Confessions of a Litigation God: Matt's Story
I fell in love with Matt in Legal Affairs and fell even deeper in this one. Seeing his POV gives you the insight into what he went through and how he handled these situations. And most of the time his feelings and hurt would get him into more pain and heartache. While Matt is trying to keep things between him and Mac in a sex only relationship, Mac is trying to not fall in love with him. But how does she do that, he is a litigation God and sex on a stick and a fantastic lover. But when Marissa pulls her crap again and again, Matt has had enough and feels like Mac is trying to trap him. Even though he knows she is not, so he begins to put space between them. And Mac is hurt and after talking with Cal, they decide to go into business together. Opening their own law firm. Before Matt lets Mac resign, he has to confront Cal and find out what happened with him and Marissa and to forgive him. Cal and Matt will never be best friends again, but he can be civil for the sake of Mac. The ending is absolutely perfect and I am so glad Sawyer decided to give Matt is own story. So read the Legal Affairs from Mac's POV and then read this one. I think as a few others have said, you would not have to read Legal Affairs first to understand what is going on in this one. I would also like to see a story from Cal's POV and one from Macy's POV.
* Clash (Book 1 of Cal and Macy's Story)
Another great addition to the Legal Affairs series. This one is about Cal and Macy. Cal works with Mac and Macy is her best friend. While Macy and Cal seem to clash at every meeting, they don’t see the sexual tension that others see between them. It happens at Mac and Matt’s son Arron’ birthday party. While Cal is thinking who would throw a one year old a birthday party with caviar and champagne, but who else but Macy Carrington. The one person who seems to want to flaunt her wealth. But Cal doesn't understand about Macy and maybe he will learn about what makes her tick. While Macy is still using “One Night Only” the dating service and Cal doesn't see why she doesn't do relationships. When she is being sued from someone from a past date through the service, Mac asked Cal to represent her. While Mac is a friend, Cal is not. But what about the time they spent in the pantry? Can Cal and Macy connect on a different level? Will Cal be able to resist her to represent her in court? I love this series and can’t wait for more.
* Grind (Book 2 of Cal and Macy's Story)
While Macy and Cal start a relationship of sorts, she wants to keep them a secret. Doesn't want Mac to find out just yet. After all Macy doesn't do relationships but there is something about Cal that she is drawn too. When she is being sues and the have to fly to Utah to meet with the sleaze and her lawyer, Cal tells her that as soon as this lawsuit is over, she will be his until it is time for the to get to the airport to fly back home. Macy is enjoying the time they spend together and when they come to an agreement, will Macy hold up her end or will she run? Can Cal go to the club and do what she wants him to do? Will he make her see that she is special? Can he keep his heart from being broken in the process? And what an ending, the FBI has showed up to take her in for questions about her fathers company? Can Cal save her now? Will Mac and Matt be there to help her too? This is a great story and I can't wait for more.
* Yield (Book 3 of Cal and Macy's Story)
This is the third and final book for Cal and Macy. When you read the first two, you wonder how much pain will they have to go through and will they finally be together? Well I can only say that this ending is perfect. Macy has to learn how to love herself before she can love anyone else. And with the help of Mac, Matt and Cal she will learn that if someone loves you, then you never give up on yourself. I don't want to give the story away and will say that you should read the whole Legal Affairs series. It will be an emotional roller coaster ride but you will love every minute of it. Sawyer Bennett will have you crying one minute and then laughing the next, she will rip your heart to pieces and put it back together. If you haven't read anything by Sawyer, then you should grab this series NOW and enjoy. You will not be disappointed. I loved this series and wish there would be more someday.

This is a box set of previously released books. It is great to have them all in one set.
The first two books are about Mckayla (Mac) and Matt. Each book is told from his and her perspective.
Matts book the second book has extra info at the end to wrap up their story. What starts off as a one night stand ends up being OMG I just slept with my new boss. Matt tells Mac they must forget their one night and have work only relationship. But when Matt can't resist Mac anymore he says lets have a sex only relationship and keep it secret. Mac thinks she can handle it a decides to enjoy it while she can. I feel Mac was a little bit of a doormat because Matt did a lot of "We are over, to No we are not" attitude, Mac kept going back to him. But overall it was a good story. 4 stars
Cal and Macy's stories are next and I just love this one. Macy has a horrible secret and it eats her alive, to the point that she thinks she is unworthy of love. She has sex only and no seconds. Her and Cal just don't get along, but because Mac is their best friend they see each other a lot. When one explosive moment of heated and hot sex changes everything for them, they embark on sex only relationship which Cal finds harder and harder to do. He is falling for Macy and she is locked up tight. I didn't love Cal in the firs book, but the way he treated Macy and fought for her made me love this story. 5 stars for me.

**Legal Affairs**
Why oh why has it taken me so long to read this series??? Loved this fun, quick, sexy read so much I had a hard time putting it down because it seduces you and entrances you. Makayla was fresh out of a relationship and a new lawyer who needed a night to let loose enter Matt well known lawyer and doesn't do relationships which is why he uses "One Night Only". What happens next was jaw dropping and so worth the read.... I'm sure you would LOVE to know right??? Then grab this book because you won't be sorry.

**Confessions of a Litigation God**
I loved reading this book because you read it from Matt's POV and boy was it hot!!! I loved that you get his perspective and thoughts but most of all the epilogue was amazing. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

**Clash**
OMG... Cal and Macy were hilarious and filled with so much sexual tension my pages were steaming! Macy is a firecracker and she is definitely going to have Cal exploding! On to the next book!

**Grind**
Wow this book was hot, hot, hot! Cal and Macy were definitely setting the pages on fire! They are an explosive couple that will leave you fanning yourself but prepare for one jaw dropping ending!

**Yield**
This final book in the Legal Affairs series is an emotional, all-consuming, captivating read that is unputdownable. Cal and Macy had me on the edge of my seat with the struggles they faced to get to the beautiful ending they both deserved. This read is one that you won't forget.

My heart did not stop accelerating, it was wild. I felt mad about things that were happening to Mac and how she was being treated and I wanted to bite Matt's head off! It has been a long time since I've had that feeling provoked by a story and it made me enjoy it a lot, to the point I didn't want to put it down. When your boss turns out to be the previous one full night rocking the bed stranger that gave you the best sex of your life, it will make a day in the office full of tension. That is what happens to Mac and between her and Matt being in near proximity, resisting becomes harder and harder. A hell of a sexy man, with a lot of unresolved trust issues living in denial but with an insatiable sex drive and a woman with a lot of desire and patience but a lot of self worth... That just sounds like the perfect recipe for good angst and fan yourself moments. What is better than that?!

Men are stubborn most of the time and it basically takes a slap to the face for them to appreciate what is right in front of them. This box set is full of of those. They are strong, powerful and mostly used to wining. But it just comes a point that they meet their match by being knocked off their feet. These stories are HOT and sexy. And you can't even imagine all the back and forth with these many lawyers and litigators.

Wanting to let loose a little and end her dating dry spell, McKayla allows her roommate to set up a profile on a dating app. The dating app is basically for people looking for one night stands, not happily ever afters. No names required.

After a night of scorching fun, McKayla arrives to work and finds the law firm she's working for has been bought out by a bigger firm. Imagine her surprise when her one night stand is introduced as her new boss! As it is against company policy to sleep with a coworker, they both realize their one night can't turn into more....until it does. But multiple "one night stands" does not a relationship make.

McKayla wants it all. A house, pets, kids, and a loving husband. Matt, having been burned by his crazy ex, vows to never go there again. His heart is completely closed off, until his ex best friend comes into the picture. Matt has to decide if life is worth living without McKayla.

What a set! I have not had the opportunity to read this series yet, but am glad I finally did! Sawyer Bennett does NOT disappoint! This box set is well worth the money. The sizzling energy, wicked nights, and witty banter are spot on! The heartache only makes the story more real, believable. I love that I am able to read them in order and don't have to wait for the next release too. I read a gifted set and all opinions stated are my own.

Sawyer Bennett has given us five amazing reads in one Fantastic box set. We get Legal Affairs, Confessions of a Litigation God, Clash, Grind & Yield.
We meet McKayla “Mac” Dawson & Matt Connover in the first two books the way they meet is quite a interesting way. The chemistry between the two of them is so off the charts that you can’t help want to know there whole story. There are going to be many moments that you might not care for Matt but when you understand his reasoning you heart may soften a bit. I love the way Mac cares for Matt but you also see how she can understand Matt even at times there is hurt.
When you read Litigation God you get Mac & Matt’s story totally told in his POV and it’s Amazing Reading his thoughts throughout their story.
The rest of the box set is just as intriguing when you read all about Cal Carson & Macy Carrington.
Cal & Macy are not only friends of Mac but Cal is also Matt’s nemesis for past indiscretions that you learned in the first two books. Macy has her own issues throughout the books but you can’t help grow to understand her and totally love her just the same.
All in all these five great reads will have you sitting down wanting to read through this whole box set without looking up until your done.

Legal Affairs: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great story. Love that this is a re-release of the novellas into one book but that everything was still broken into each book. The flow is perfect and the characters are compelling and have fantastic chemistry.

Confession of a Litigation God: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love getting the story from Matt's POV. Even though you already know the storyline the emotions are different because you're getting a glimpse into the psyche of Matt. And it gives the story it's own unique flavor.

Clash: Book one Cal and Macy ⭐⭐⭐
They really are like oil and water, but wow when they come together it's spectacular. Cal just deserves to get his happily ever after. But Macy is so far away from the settling down type how this will work remissions to be seen.

Grind: Book two Cal and Macy ⭐⭐⭐
There are things lurking beneath the surface. But Cal is determined to show Macy she is worth being with. Dealing with law suits and drama didn't diminish what's building between them.

Yield: Conclusion of Cal and Macy ⭐⭐⭐⭐
There are so many secrets and the past comes out to rear it's ugly head. And through it all Cal shows Macy that he will support her and price she is worthy. And they are stronger together than apart.

The Legal Affairs Boxed Set by Sawyer Bennett is some of her best work and contains five books.
The first two books Legal Affair and Confessions of a Litigation God tell the story of Mac and Matt, two attorneys who meet through a paid sex service and then end up working together. The sparks fly between the two and I especially enjoyed Confessions of a Litigation God, as it tells their story from Matt’s point of view.

Books three through five include Clash, Grind and Yield and tell the story of Cal and Macy. This is an oil and water relationship and Cal ends up representing Macy in a lawsuit. They both fight their attraction to one another and Macy has some serious demons. Mac and Matt are prevalent in this series, too, which is a nice addition.

Both series get their HEA. Sawyer Bennett writes different genres, but I will say that I am a huge fan of her legal series and hope that she will return to it in the future.

Wow!! 5 hot and sexy books in one with amazing characters you can't help but fall in love with. Every word is so well written and every scene has a reason. Just incredible stuff from Sawyer Bennett.
Mac & Matt are simply amazing in the first two books. They are both smart and sexy and just sizzle off the pages. Matt will not be your favorite person at first but trust me, give the man a chance because he will knock your socks off by the end of their second book. Their story definitely starts out in an unconventional way but there is no denying the chemistry they have.
Cal & Macy's story spanning 3 short novellas, definitely steals the show for me. They took me on quite the emotional journey in between all the sexy shenanigans! They will simply knock your socks off and blow your mind! Insanely hot stuff!

The legal Affairs box set is such an amazing deal filled with amazing books! The first two books Legal Affair and Confessions of a Litigation God tell the story of Mac and Matt. After spending the night together, MAC funds out Matt is her new boss. Sparks fly between these two, but how will they handle this chemistry and work together?
Books three through five include Clash, Grind and Yield and tell the story of Cal and Macy. Cal and Macy are my favorite, they go through so much. They are complete opposites but have crazy chemistry. When Macy is being sued she is forced to work in close proximity to cal, who is representing her. They face obstacle after obstacle, but will they come out on top?

If Book 1 is any indication...

So this is the only series of Sawyer Bennett's that I haven't read. And oh my - I didn't know what I was missing.

Matt F-ing Connover is a god and McKayla is strong, but has a bit too much of a soft side when it comes to putting up with Matt's terms.

This had more wit than I expected and I love the little asides throughout the story. It pulls you in as a reader. And the steam factor is wowza!!

I am so looking forward to Confessions from Matt's point of view. That's going to be extra special!! So glad I finally dived into this series.

I voluntarily requested and reviewed an advance reader copy of this boxed set.

Mac and Matt’s story was interesting. He has trust issues but their chemistry is undeniable. He also has baby mama issues. Their book was wonderfully creative and entertaining.

Cal and Macy’s book is slightly different in that a depending on how you felt about Cal from the previous book, these books leave you knowing he’s an amazing guy with a heart of gold. Macy has her quirks but is strong and getting her to come around for a relationship isn’t easy with her history. I loved this one though.

I had read Legal Affairs a while back, but had never read the other stories in this boxed set. Boy do I wish I had read them sooner! I loved reading Confessions of a Litigation God and seeing things from Matt's point of view! He comes off a little bit assholish, but more cocky and lovable than anything else. Also, I loved Cal and Macy from the first two books, and to see them have their own stories is amazing. And boy are Cal and Macy HOTTTT together. I really loved these books and wish that I had not stopped at Legal Affairs and had read the others before!

Great box set! The first two books are about McKayla and Matt. They had great chemistry! Their story was a little on again, off again - employer / employee - and he wants a just sex relationship and she wan't more. I loved the epilogue and how it all worked out. The last three books are about Cal and Macy. Their relationship is downright explosive! Macy believes herself to be damaged and unlovable, but that doesn't stop Cal and he never gives up on her. He is her knight in shining armor willing to do anything for her. Another great epilogue, I loved seeing four years later!

I loved this series! This is the series that introduced me to Sawyer and I have been a follower ever since.

Matt and Mac were so perfect! I love how she gave him hell when he deserved it and put him in his place! I also loved how he gave it right back.

Cal and Macy. If there was ever a more compatible couple, I don't know it is. Good grief, the tension between these two was incredible. Their story was HOT!!!!!

Just loved this series immensely! All ready read Legal Affairs and Confessions of a Litigation God which was fascinating. After reading Clash, Grind. And Yield with Cal and Macy the fascination just went up higher. How the past can rule your lives is sometimes destructive to yourself. You cannot grow or feel or even move on. But watching the way these two interacted made me laugh and sometimes feel sad but always looking for more. Sawyer Bennett you are the best.

Superb

I love these couples. Mac knew how to play the “I don’t give a damn attitude, I’m just doing my best work.” While Matt can’t understand how she can get under his skin. I love their chemistry and the give n take with those two. Sexy and sensual! Cal n Macy was a great explosive journey. I love how Cal was so patient and Macy so headstrong and alpha in a take charge way while being vulnerable. The sex scenes off the chart. A real feel good series.

That was a hot one! At times (very few times) I wanted to shake her, but overall, she wasn’t a doormat and knew what she was worth. He had his damage and she wasn’t afraid to set his ass straight about it. That was refreshing.

Neither were TSTL and it was a smart redemption story and one about forgiveness being about the one doing the forgiving. It’s never done for the one being forgiven…you can’t carry around all that negative stuff and live a life free of chains.

This is the box set with McKayla and Matt's stories told from both sides and then we get Cal and Macy's story. Oh my goodness! This entire series definitely cannot be missed! Lawyers but so much more and so much sexy goodness to keep the pages turning you will not be able to put this down! I wrote separate reviews for each book if you are interested...

Great value in this box set!

As always SB doesn't disappoint and this time it's the law world that she is taking by storm. These are an older series but don't let that stop you from giving it a try! Fun, flirty, bold and sassy heroines and lots of heat - just what you have probably come to expect from this author. Great series. Don't hesitate to give it a try.

Legally in love with this series😍😍😍😍
So this series is epic and a must read. I already am a fan of Ms. Bennett's writing and this series just makes me love her writing all the more. From Mac and Matt's story to Cal and Macy's story it's a hell of a ride. And Mckayla's book is already in the list of Re-read books. Loved loved this one and is an absolute must read.
