Flint has had a crush on Lexi since he was fourteen. Being two years older, Lexi never registered he existed. Twenty years later… Lexi’s personal life has come crashing down. When Lexi’s at her lowest, having a handsome man hitting on her sure feels good. It can’t hurt to flirt back, right? Maybe he’s the diversion she needs right now. While Flint might have the chance to make his high school dreams come true.
This is a stand-alone book, but much more fun if read along with the other Prince stories.

Work Stuff -- I've spent many years working high-tech in Silicon Valley at both large companies and start-ups. This has given me plenty of war stories and a rich understanding of how things work in the valley. I use this as a backdrop to my stories.
Family Stuff -- I'm a mom of a wonderful teenage daughter.
Book Stuff -- Coaching my daughter's soccer team was the inspiration for the Princess series. I watched all these wonderful girls and imagined what they would be like in ten years.
The Prince stories were inspired by all the single 30-somethings I know who are all working hard and still looking for that someone special.
The Reunion series was motivated by me going back to my high school reunion. The love stories are all from my imagination but many of the interactions were real.
Background Stuff -- Most of my stories take place in Silicon Valley. Not only do I live in Silicon Valley but I find it a unique and dynamic place with lots of smart people who work really hard. It also has its own culture I rarely find correctly represented in our media. I think most people who write about Silicon Valley have never worked at a Silicon Valley high-tech company. In other words, they really don't understand why it is the way that it is, they just write about the manifestations of what they see. I hope my books are a fun and an under-the-cover look, at high-tech Silicon Valley-style.
When I was looking for a second location for my stories, I wanted a place that would be different from Silicon Valley. That's why I chose Western New York -- where I grew up. I liked that it was three thousand miles away so the weather was different, the land was different, and it has a very different economic base.
Why I write -- A few years ago I had a cardiac arrest, spent four days in a coma, and lost ten days of my memory. With my damaged heart, I spent the rest of the year laying on my couch trying to get oxygen to my muscles and reading ... a lot. I found I liked books that have a first-person narrative, are relationship-driven and have a happy ending. These three characteristics were in all romance novels.
My Niche -- What I didn't see in most of the romance books was intelligent women with non-traditional jobs, a strong group of friends, and a loving relationship with their families. Since I have no desire to try to fix a broken man or date an unrepentant bad boy I found the typical romance men to be unappealing. That doesn't mean my hero's don't have issues. It's just their issues can be solved by opening up and falling in love with a great woman.
Where I get my ideas -- I got my idea for my books from life. My first series “The Princesses” is about 20-something men and women who live in Silicon Valley and are transitioning from college to full adulthood. For my second series, “The Princes”, I aged the protagonists up so they are dealing with issues people in their 30's face. With my third series “Reunion” I felt the issues and lifestyle of adults in their late thirties were universal and the stories did not need to be tied to Silicon Valley.
The author provided a copy of the ePub in exchange for an honest review.
Mother, wife and doctor, Lexi is living a busy life. Her home life changes when her husband informs her that he is leaving her for her best friend. Yes, it is complicated. She is shocked, confused and afraid. Flint is living the life—single and professionally successful. He had a secret high school crush on Lexi as a teenager. Flint never forgot her and when their paths cross their delightful story unfolds.
The author shares their journey via Flint’s and Lexi’s points of view. The author brilliantly creates character-driven novels. Their connection feels real and natural. This novel is well written and fast-paced. The secondary characters add depth as well.
The Story of Flint and Lexi is Anita Claire’s third instalment in the Silicon Valley Princes series. Flint and Lexi’s story can be read as a standalone but read the series.

Lexi is married with two small children, and I mean really small children, when her husband up and leaves her. Things aren't looking good for her and this was really sad especially since it was more than what met the eye initially. I must admit that I don't particularly enjoy reading about a cheating spouse, especially one that has small children but when the author can dish out some poetic justice to said spouse I'm all for it....and boy did she!
Flint has had a crush on Lexi since he was fourteen, and she was sixteen, they didn't run in the same circles but Lexi was on the same soccer team as Flint's sister so this meant he saw her quite often and he definitely noticed her! I really enjoyed the stories he told her about his "Fantasies" once they were together.
At the beginning we travel through several years with Lexi and Flint running into one another, on one hand I enjoyed it because we got a sneak peak into Flint's feelings for her during that time but on the other it felt a bit choppy to me. I guess I wish the author would have spent a little more time during each time period showing us what each of them though instead of only Flint's POV.
This was a nice slow burn that really did heat up quite nicely. If you are looking for a childhood crush come to fruition this is the perfect story for you. I have enjoyed each of the books in the Silicon Valley Prince Series and I look forward to reading more of them, especially Logan's story...that Peter Pan syndrome can't last forever...can it? Happy Reading!!!

Brilliant!! This book was by far my favorite of not only this series but of all of Anita’s books I’ve read so far. The flow and pace was perfect. The plot was very believable (and maybe relatable to some). The characters had an organic, natural connection and they complimented each other really well. I like that the characters were not only “older” (mid-thirties) but they also acted like it, too. All of the supporting characters served their purpose and none of them felt out of place or unnecessary. The internal and external dialogue was very appropriate as they navigated through numerous matters that many people face every day. Every scene felt like something that could be observed in daily life. I love me a book that reflects life as we know it and this work executed that perfectly! I absolutely loved this story!!
Lexi thought she had it all, the career of her choice, the great husband, lovely home and two great kids. That was until she found out that her husband had a fling with her best friend, and he was leaving Lexi because the best friend was pregnant with his child. Lexi's life had turned to crap!
Flint had always has a thing for Lexi since high school, and with maturity nothing had changed. When Flint saw Lexi at a restaurant with a friend on a Saturday night, his interest was piqued and he wondered why she wasn't out with her husband.
A few chance encounters over the years didn't change Flint's feelings towards his high school crush Lexi, but her life is now more complicated. Will everything work out for them both in the unusual circumstances?
I loved this story because it was more "normal" circumstances of a divorcee and her challenges. How do you juggle being a full time worker, single mom and out looking for new relationships?
Matthew Flinter has crushed on Lexi Wallace since he was 14 years old and she was 18. Lexi, being older, didn’t even know Flint was around, so he adored her from afar. Fast forward several years… Flint and Lexi ran into each other a few times as adults, but the timing wasn’t right for them until he went out to dinner with another woman and saw Lexi across the restaurant. After talking to her, he realized the timing might not be perfect, but they seemed to be a bit more in his favor.
Lexi thought she had the world on a string, she was an established doctor, wife, and mother, until her life took an unforeseen turn. Suddenly Lexi didn’t recognize any aspect of her life. She had a 2 year, a newborn and life was in turmoil. Flint appears, again, in her messy life. What could a hot, single, successful younger man possibly see Lexi and her life? But Flint was determined to show Lexi he was the right guy for her.
This story grabbed me from the beginning. Flint is a well-rounded guy with his priorities in place. Lexi puts her family first, but also understand in importance of having time for herself, too.
Arc review for honest review. Lexi has a two-year-old son and a newborn when her husband Jake comes home to inform her he wants a divorce .she is deviated and overwhelmed .when flint sees her he sees something was wrong and has always has a crush on her since he was younger. this is their story of getting to know each other awesome story 10 stars
This book was sent to me by the author for a review. I enjoyed reading this story, even though parts of it got me worked up. Flint has always had a crush on Lexi since high school and when they run into each other at the store during Thanksgiving, Lexi just brushes him off because she is engaged. Years later when they run into each other again, Flint feels like it was meant to be. Lexi has just given birth to her second child when her husband drops a bomb on her. He is leaving because he has been having an affair with her best friend and she is now pregnant. He says he needs to be with her because they are now going to a family. that really got to me because what about the family he already has with Lexi? Do they not matter? When Lexi runs into Flint, she is gun-shy about going out on a date with him. When he finally convinces her, she ends up having more fun than what she thought she would. She can only see Flint on the weekends that her ex has her children. The more time she spends around Flint, the more fun she has and realizes that she is starting to fall him. Flint on the other hand, knows that they are meant to be together and will do anything to prove that to her. He wants to beat Lexi's ex to a pulp but on the other hand is glad that he is no longer in the picture because now he has a chance to be with her. When there is a surprise in the delivery of her ex husband's new child, he decides that he wants Lexi back. Lexi discovers that not only does she not want her ex back ever, but what she has with Flint is the real thing and is truly happy with him. I enjoyed reading this story and the characters were a delight. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.
* I was provided a copy for R2R.* This book was one of my favorites of all of Anita’s books I’ve read so far. The plot was very relatable to everyday life. The characters were "older" than typical romance novels which made it much more believable. Lexi is a mother of a toddler and infant. She is a wife and doctor. She seems to have it all when her cheating husband disrupts that happy life. Enter Flint, who has had a crush on Lexi since he was 14 years old. They navigate their relationship with the added pressures of children and friends. The supporting characters (her children, family, and friends) were worked into the story easily and enhanced the feeling of everyday life. You can imagine this story happening to someone you know. The only critique I have was perhaps their relationship was too easy--maybe a little more conflict to add some spice. That being said...Great Book!
I'm not going to rehash what the book was about, there are plenty of those "reviews" - only what i liked and didn't. I will say, if you like modern day realistic romance, this is a great book.
I started off thinking oh no, that honest review thing might come back and bite me - well after the first few chapters I was hooked. So glad I kept going! I think it is the back and forth of POV and trying to cram a bunch of backstory in quickly that didn't sit well... BUT... it was the shifts in POV once the story got rolling that I loved. I found the characters' insecurities very believable. The slowly built chemistry and trust between Lexi and Flynt allows you to go on the journey with them. It didn't feel forced and I truly enjoyed the book - enough to read it in a single sitting.
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Lexi a doctor and a mom who adore her children, but her husband just walk away from them. Dealing with two kids on her own can be really hard, hopefully there is Flint; a succesful businessman who just happens to have a crush on Lexi since high school. Against all odds Flint won't ever quit on Lexi, he is determined to stay in her life no matter how hard she tries to scare him away.
I've read both the Princess and Princes of Silicon Valley series and I must admit this is one of my favorites. I find the element of the children super funny and realistic. Anita's books have a unique way to portrait the reality of live in the most entertaining and captivating form. And even thought it can be read as a standalone after you read one you'll want to read them all. Xo
A Copy provided by the Author for an honest review...
A decent read , still wasn't a wow for me. The heroin was a bit of annoying always comparing herself to *the best friend* ... For the whole read she always complains about her children and about her life .
The heroin , A mother a doctor and single after a heartbreak from her husband... For the whole read she didnt stopped from complaining about how her child is always hyper. Almost hated the heroin cos seriously she is such a complainer for everything. Would gladly give it a 4* if the complaining were much less and there were a bit exaggerating parts and almost got me exhausted by reading it.. There were too much in fact had to keep reading it trying to not get into much in it ..
Lots to like about this book. Lexi was believable as a sudden single mom. The exhaustion, shock, stress of it all seemed true and made her likeable. Their dates were fun and Flint's willingness to win the girl was sweet. I loved his efforts at self control. I really enjoyed the whole story.
I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. This was not my typical book, but I found myself enjoying it anyway. Lexi was a character I could relate to and Flint was a good love interest. I would be interested in reading more from this author.
