She saved my life. She’s breathtaking and mysterious. I want to know everything about her, but she keeps me at arm’s length. I’ll do whatever it takes to win her over.
Nick:
I’m not a religious man, but I have to thank God for sending this beautiful angel to my rescue. She’s perfect. Better than any dream girl I could ever imagine. The way Leah’s breathtaking eyes catch mine could bring a man to his knees. I’d write a thousand songs about those eyes. I have to find a way to make her mine.
Leah:
He doesn’t know the truth. I could never tell him, or he’d never want to see me again. In order to be with him, I have to escape my past and my pain. I could run away with Nick and forget it all in his arms. I can pretend to be someone worthy of him.

This is a sweet little romance with a dark undercurrent running through it.
Nick has been in an accident. He wakes up in hospital staring into the eyes of a beautiful woman.
Leah, the mystery woman, called the ambulance and stayed with him until he came round. She leaves, but not before he makes her promise to stay in touch.
They fall for each other pretty quickly, spending all their time together. Nice guy Nick can’t believe this gorgeous creature is in love with him; Leah can’t believe that someone can look at her like she’s everything.
Leah’s dark past catches up with her, though. She runs away, breaking Nick’s heart in the process.
The storyline is divided into four parts, which works really well. In the beginning, I thought the characters seemed a little too perfect, but as the story went on their ‘flaws’ started to show, making them seem more real.
All in all, a really enjoyable book, which is the first I’ve read by this author.
For the most part I liked this story. The writing was very good, I could see how it was thoroughly edited. I would read more just for that reason.
I didn't actually love the story itself. It's definitely NA so adjusting for that, their rashness and tendency to fly off the handle was appropriate. I felt the empathy from both characters needed work. They both needed big slaps in the face for their behaviors. Now relationships and reconciliations are never 50/50 but I felt like Nick owned and carried way more than his share. Even in the guilt and grovel department. I prefer all parties grovel when necessary so Leah lost me there. Her communication was also a huge thumbs down.
I don't know if I would reread this but it was worth the time I spent on it.
This novel took a lot of blood, sweat, and tears... Just kidding, but it did take me a long time and I learned a lot about the self-publishing process through it all. I love writing stories I would love to read, so I definitely enjoy this novel or else I wouldn't have published it.
Things are not how they seem in the first part of this novel, and you will begin to understand that throughout your reading adventure. I hope all you romance readers enjoy!
