Rate this book
Michaella walked into her apartment, expecting to prepare for an anniversary surprise night for her husband. What she wasnt expecting was to hear a womans voice coming from her bedroom. She hadnt expected to hear them laughing and talking about how he was using her. It was the last straw though, and she wouldnt take any more from him. Michaella would get out of this marriage and make changes to her life.He was known as Thumper to his friends. He worked when he wanted to, knowing he really didnt need the money. Thumper lived in a quiet little town keeping mostly to himself. Usually uncomfortable around women who wanted just a physical relationship, he felt an immediate connection to the woman he bumped into. When he found out she needed a friend, he was there for her. When she needed protecting, he was there too.Michaella never imagined how her life could be turned upside down with a cheating husband and divorce. She also never imagined how it could be straightened with the right man.

Became a Book Excellence Awards Finalist for The Retreat in the Romance category in 2019 & in 2020 for The Relocation. Also became an Elite Choice Winner in 2020 for her book Elizabeth.

Born and raised in Minnesota, Eleanor Jane resides with her husband, Jim, in central Minnesota. They have three daughters. Eleanor turned her writing into more than a hobby after her family found out about it and offered her the encouragement to get published. She is always working on new book plots. After acquiring a lake home recently, she enjoys the natural beauty of the lake and the wildlife as she writes. Some of her other hobbies are gardening, reading and spending time with family.

I had started to write while I was unemployed to fill my time. When my family found out, they encouraged me to get published. When "The Retreat" came out, those that had read it, asked for a sequel. It took a while to come up with new story lines but I have completed two sequels and working on two more.

Desperately needs an editor…

The storyline is great, but this is in dire need of a decent editor and proofreader.

Now, on to the actual story. This is a sequel to her first book, so Belinda and Carrick make a cameo appearance at the end. But the story starts with Michaela arriving home to her husband cheating on her in her own bed. Things move swiftly and she arranges a divorce along with removing her husband from her life. He hasn’t worked in three years or so, and is leeching off of her.

She arranges the separation and moves out to her grandmother’s home. And she meets Paul. Who is a security expert…

The ex husband is a nasty piece of work and things get seriously bad. He’s a complete wacko…

This sounded like it could be really good so I bought it. Had it been properly edited I would say it’s worth it. Since it has so many issues I won’t recommend unless the author gets this fixed. It needs it.

Very VERY poorly written. Needs a complete re-editing. Story premise is good, I liked the plot. However the writing and flow are really bad. Zero emotion in the writing, kind of feels like Chat GPT wrote the whole thing. Doesn’t flow like a book should. Not worth the $6.

Better tan I expected

This was a great read! This turned out better than I expected and aside from a few grammar mistakes, it was worth it. There was a strong FMC, who doesn’t take the cheating at all, and doesn’t run back. Finding a strong MH, that’s always a must, especially why he lets her in and doesn’t hide himself. All in all, I would say great novel.

reads like a robot…

Just a continuous stream of “she said and then he said “. Conversations were not like real people. Storyline was boring and predictable. Not worth any $.

cute.

This was a cute read. It was an insta-love, easy read. There were hard parts.. definitely not basic in that regard.

I liked the story concept and characters, but the writing needed more polish to make it flow more smoothly and believably. This was like a rough draft that didn’t make it to the editing stage.
