When Kenna Sutton is tasked with driving home newly returned Beck “True Blue” Collier, she expects the strategic Army mastermind to be a pasty number cruncher. Never at a loss for words, Kenna is nonetheless rendered speechless by the gorgeous, hard-bodied and utterly inexperienced Army Major that lands in her passenger seat. Outraged by Beck’s lack of a welcome home after seven long years overseas, Kenna takes matters into her own hands, giving Beck something he’s only ever fantasized about in his bunk.
Beck has never shied away from a test of will and Kenna gives new meaning to the word challenge. One problem? Kenna’s father is the Lieutenant General presenting Beck with a Silver Star and Beck is determined to treat Kenna with the respect she deserves. Kenna has other ideas, however, tempting Beck’s resolve at every turn. But how long can one lonely, starving man hope to resist the woman he craves?

---> 0,000001% incl. this one
The last point is actually the reason I read this book. And I loved loved loved that he was a virgin and she wasn’t – incredibly amazing!
Very cool and strong heroine. Very cool! Very sweet, strong and caring hero. Decent guy!
"I’d like to know if you’re spoken for, Kenna." "No. I don’t let men speak for me."
Their 1st sex-scene was sooo hot! *fanning myself*
All fine, all great, I was enjoying the hell out of this and then……..
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa …………………………………………………………………………… He called himself her daddy… “I’m your daddy now, Kenna.”
Alex was shocked. Kiki was sick and Leonor was mad.
WTF???? Why? It literally came from nowhere. NOWHERE!!! It didn’t add something to the story, it only ruined my perfect book! Daddy???........... Grr! So NOT my kink…..
I mean, hero was such a great guy, he treated her like gold and I didn’t even flinch, when they said ‘spanking’, because hero’s 1st reaction was one of the best: “I don’t lay hands on women”; but then the ‘daddy’ made his appearance…. I mean, they mentioned ‘daddy’ 4 times in general… not much, but for me it was more than enough. Without ‘daddy’-references I would have clicked 5 stars.
The Major’s Welcome Home is a stand alone novella by Tessa Bailey. This is a quick read, around one hundred pages. It’s definitely steamy but also, you just can’t help but to love these two characters.
Major Beck Collier is twenty six years old and has been deployed for six years. He is a strategic analyst who has been indispensable to the army but he has also seen things he’ll never forget. He’s returning home without his closest friend, a man he felt responsible for, and for this he can’t forgive himself. After spending a couple of days on base, he will be going home to take over his family’s peach orchard in Georgia.
Kenna Sutton is twenty two years old and is also Lieutenant General Sutton’s daughter. Kenna has lived her life trying to win the affection of either of her parents in any way she could. When she was younger, it was in negative ways. Now as an adult, she still finds herself trying to please her father but it never helps. When Kenna is sent to pick up a returning Major, she is expecting an older man who has spent his time sitting behind a desk. She was in no way prepared for the man she came face to face with. And even more surprised at what he shared with her. All she wanted to do was to make him feel better, to welcome him home in a way that would help him. When she snuck away, she figured she’d never see him again. She was wrong.
These two were so perfect for each other. They just naturally filled up the spaces left by the cruelty of life. Beck was able to see Kenna like no one else ever bothered to do. And Kenna was able to show Beck what life could be like, that whatever happened between he and Kenna was good and right. This was so steamy, but also so sweet. I enjoyed it so much.
“Am I hurting you?” “N-no. Keep going, keep going.” “Scream then,” he growled in her ear, hips starting to pump at a brutal pace. “If it doesn’t hurt, then scream.”
This book was HOT AF. It’s 98 pages, it’s on KU… the hero is a hot muscly former soldier. Please read it.
LOVE BECK. One of the best alpha male virgin heroes I've met in recent history. How that man got to 26 without getting screwed out of his mind by enterprising women is beyond me. Lucky for our heroine Kenna.
"Get up on my cock where you belong."
YES SIR!
Not much going on here besides the two MCs' relationship and that's just fine. Loved every bit of it. They both have personalities I like. Their connection went beyond sex, and I really like how that came through in the story.
Don't recall this author...but I will be checking more of her work out.
So I was at a bit of a loss as to what to read after having read a highly emotional book. I just wanted something light and quick to read before bed. Two hours later I am reading reviews for random books I will never read when I came across the dirty talker tag and it grabbed my attention HARD. So obviously I had to check out the best dirty talking list and of course my smut mouthed queen was on there multiple times. Most of which I have read, several I want to read but for some reason one tiny part of my brain can't explain I am waiting to read and then there was this one. 108 pages of KU awesomeness.
Oh my god it was perfect. The hero was just written to perfection and I loved him. Damn was he so hot I just couldn't stand to put him down. And of course our heroine was strong, sassy and all kinds of kick arse. But this book absolutely nailed the dirty talking and had some steaming hot sex scenes, however for the length of it I also did connect with the characters and I just wish there were a dozen more of these.
I really can't rave enough about this book. It was so HOT.
Give me an experienced heroine any freaking day and I’ll happy for the rest of my life. Hero was a good man, respectful to the heroine. I was loving the heroine, she was strong and the best of all she wasn’t a shy little virgin who hid under covers, blushing because the hero wanted to have sex with her. I loved how "forward" or "aggressive" she was. But they lost me when out of nowhere the daddy kink came out. It was unexpected I was like
But overall I did enjoy the book. I didn’t even roll my eyes when he spanked her, his reaction was funny when she asked to be spanked. I wish she would’ve remained the strong woman that she was in the beginning. But she was a lot better heroine than the ones authors are trying to shove down my throat.
Ode to the Backseat of Kenna's Car This book is all kinds of lusty. Talk is so dirty, it's dusty. After a scorching hot ride in a way cool car, These two strangers go entirely too far. Hero Beck flashes a shocking V-Card, Until naughty girl Kenna slams him hard. When she blissfully climbs his rigid pole, He nosedives down the rabbit hole. The story rounds out with alpha sex kinks - And one part that truly, cringingly clinks. You'll find yourself wondering with them in the morn Was this a hundred pages of racy book porn?
A quick and sexy fix by Tessa Bailey is always welcome in my reading time. I found out she was releasing this short story again (it seems it was part of an anthology first) and you all know I am always ready to read anything by this woman because I love her stories and characters so much.
Yes, this is not my favorite piece of writing by Tessa but it was a good and oh-so-hawt novella to read between novels. I love a dirty talking hero and it definitely surprised me that he was a virgin! No complains because, as always, Tessa Bailey always delivers when it comes to smoking hot chemistry. Definitely check it out if you are a fan of hers and you want a quick fix!
I picked this up because it was short (i.e. low risk) and I've liked some of Bailey's books before. I'm dnfing at 80% because I can't take another sex scene. And no, the cover didn't actually tip me off that this is more Erotica than Romance. I checked and the cover copy and category tags just didn't line up with erotica, to me. But it is that, at least on my steam scale. At 80% we've had three not-short sex scenes that were, um, adventurous. And highly unlikely.
I think I'll still give it a pass as mismatched expectations and not rate it. Maybe the cover should have been enough?
It's got everything: Experienced heroine, virgin hero that gets SUPER excited every time he touches the h, safe read, and it has low angst but isn't boring.
"The Major's Welcome Home" is the story of Beck and Kenna.
In this story, we had Tessa Bailey delivering her magical smut with a hero returning from army who turns out to be a virgin, a military "brat" who receives him, and a chemistry so hot that there is literal dick bouncing. Though virgin heroes are one of my biggest pet peeves, and add that to a semi-promiscuous/experienced heroine is a combo I would normally never touch- this was a TB so ofc I wasnt going to skip it- and Im glad that I did because -Beck was yummy, alpha and so adorbs -Kenna was the pursuer at first, pursued at the end and a hidden hurt, softie inside -The sex scenes were bomb -The random daddy reference was hot -HEA showed trust I enjoyed this! Safe 4/5
This is pretty quick and super steamy. A little over the top and instalove-y, but it’s a military romance novella so that tracks and very obviously works. Uhm. Yeah that’s all I suppose. If you’re looking for quick, hot, and over the top… here it is.
What a hidden gem, my lord. A virgin alpha male layered with vulnerability, inexperience and Bailey's dirty talk trademark? My loins have been lit on fire.
Well that hot as hell little read was unexpected. Beck was a sexual repressed virgin with a dirty side ready to be unleashed and Kenna was the girl for the job. I found the entire thing both sweet and sexy as hell. Definitely going on my reread shelf!
The narrator for the podcast elevated the story just a little bit more.
4 Stars / 4 Steam Fans / Sept 7, 2019
This was a fun and sexy change of pace from what I am use to from Tessa Bailey. I enjoyed the semi-insta-love start to this story. Kenna is off limits and Beck is returning home from overseas. I loved that they both had issues to overcome and it wasn't simply about sex.
This specific video review will be included in the September 2019 wrap-up.

Virgin hero with a heroine who has spread her legs and been broken in by another man, she can’t give him the primal connection and bond of claiming her virginity, instead she’s given her trust, vulnerability and innocence to another man and I despise that shit in romance. There’s no swoon when the heroine has had another man on top of her, grunting and heaving and rutting away inside her and she can’t give the hero the gift of being only his. GTFOH the with that putrid, slimy BS. This book can go fuck itself.
I was so happy when I started to read this book: sweet and possessive hero, virgin beautiful inside and out hero, experienced sassy heroine... Together they were as hot as fire!!! But... This was till hero said: "I'm your daddy, your dirty daddy, and you are my little girl'... Author, why did you put this sh*t ??!!! Why? WHY??!!!
Safe read, no OP scenes, no cheating. It was my first book from this author and I'll look forward for more.
What a good book. I really enjoyed this a great deal. It is almost like a once in a lifetime to have a hero who is a virgin and the heroine who is not.
So this started off hot, an experienced woman welcoming home a virgin hero, nice change from the usual. But it kind of fizzled out from there. It was your typical instalove with almost no conflict or angst worked out quickly. I mean it was 100 pages so not much room for anything interesting.
