Tony Moyle was born in the small town of Shepton Mallet in 1976. He's spent the last four decades attempting to find a third reason for the town to be famous behind Babycham and a Frank Bruno heavy weight boxing fight. Although he studied Chemistry at Exeter University he was terrible at it and instead fell into a role within the business community. After twenty years of deliberation and prevarication he published his first novel, 'The Limpet Syndrome.' His second novel, and sequel, 'Soul Catchers' is out in November 2017. He lives in the small town of Ashington at the base of the South Downs national park with this wife, Laure, and two children. He regrets that he still currently has a day job.

Brilliant!

God against god. Paper accountants. Reincarnates crossing four universes in a day. Chilli con carne or apple crumble? Life lessons and moral compasses.
Best quote: " Life is really difficult. Treasure it. Go out and live it, because one day it won’t be there anymore. Mankind might not get another chance. The next person who is offered the choice I was given might not make the same decision. So go and live…and try not to fuck it up.”
Just brilliant!

I loved book one! I liked a lot book two. Book three, not as much. It felt rushed and a bit like the author had become bored with the subject. Nevertheless, if you read book one and book two you have to read book three where all is wrapped up. Though wrapped up much differently than you might guess. Moyle is excellent at plot twists. In all three books of the trilogy, he excels at taking you down one road only to surprise you that you are somewhere else. The characters are well developed though at times it is hard to follow what has happened to one or two of them. A lot of things are in this final book which is what made it feel rushed and as if the author just wanted to finish the storylines. He did bring everything to a close (always appreciated by this reader - I hate being left with unknowns). I will definitely read more of his books - as, even when I didn't like a book as much, he still has a sense of humor that matches mine (twisted).

Dead Ends by Tony Moyle is the third book in the How To Survive the Afterlife book series. If you're looking for a humorous read with some great characters, I highly recommend this series!

I took my time getting through this one so I could really take it all in. Even so, I was so sad when it ended simply because I didn't want it to end!

Full disclosure: I was given a free copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. This did not affect my rating in any way.

“Notes from Book 2” section- I love that Tony adds a little section like this to get the reader back into in the story! This is such a useful addition!

I also really enjoyed that in the first few chapters, when we first see each character again, Tony finds the perfect way to give a little recap. Whether it was in an inner monologue the character has, during a conversation with another character, or simply in a quick summary in the narrative.

Speaking of characters, it was so great to see my favorites back again! Sandy was still power hungry and bossy. Roger was still a bit insufferable. Vicky was so condescending and funny. The sloth, Gary, was too funny! I loved seeing his dialogue and how his storyline progressed. Brimstone was perfect and hilarious! Nash was great! Scrumpy was so adorable! He is still one of my top favorites, especially when he was being a bit fresh with other characters! Grace was a bit quiet, as she mulled everything over. But man, when she had her speaking lines, they were so powerful! Ian was still an adorable mess.

There were also a bunch of new characters! My favorites have to be the sheets of paper that folded themselves into humanoid origami. These creatures were called the Accountants of Neutopia! The ones that panicked and folded themselves into planes or paper fortune tellers just cracked me up! I also loved how they poked fun at Accountant A being in charge, even though they had just come into being. Accountant M was my favorite! I loved how quick and witty he was! For example, in this exchange with Accountant A:

"Improvise."
"With what?" asked M.
"Your minds."
"My mind is logical. I don't think it does improvisation. Isn't that more of a creative thing?"
"God! M, you're more inquisitive than a four year old."
"Then it would appear I'm a quick developer."
"You're a pain in the arse."

And lastly, I've said this before, but I will keep saying it for any novel that Tony uses this writing style in; I LOVE the way he begins some chapters seemingly out in left field, but then suddenly it jumps right back into the story and it all makes sense. For example here, chapter three. The first nine paragraphs are all about hospitals and the stressors that are related, all written out in a hysterical way. Then suddenly, we're back in the story because a character is standing outside of a hospital. Just wonderful!

Well, I enjoyed this book much more than the previous two. It may be that I had got into tune with the author's writing style and sense of humour, or maybe he had got into his stride, whatever, it was good. I laughed in several places and enjoyed some of the character development. There were a few odd points. Some of the spelling is incorrect, I was reading the Kindle version so maybe it appeared in the conversion, I'm not sure. There was an odd mix of British and Americanisms. The Brits don't watch TV eating potato chips. But apart from one or two minor niggles I would happily recommend this series, I just hope it doesn't go on too long losing its momentum like some series can do.

The third and - so far - final book in "How to survive the afterlife". I think perhaps for me the best one too. As in the other two the writing is humorous, very much in the style of the late Sir Terry Pratchett and this helps the story line flow along. Many questions arising in book two are closed, unlikely hero's appear who were villains - although one villain remains very much so!!
I am looking forwards to reading more of this authors work - he's definitely made it on to my Favourites list :)

STP would be proud

As a life-long Terry Pratchett fan I have searched high and low for some-one else to read that would draw me into their world, leaving me excited and desperate for the next page in the journey. Tony Moyle's has given me hope and just 3 books in he is already starting to feel like an old friend. Come in, sit down, have a coffee and be transformed

Epic ending! I loved the trilogy. Well written, witty and an interesting take on the afterlife. Laughed out loud at times and shared some pithy observations on life that were just right and well thought. More of this, please !

These books have been consistently fun, and the world building has lingered since I read the first. I will be rereading.

A fun read

The concept is fun, as are the “happenings” in the storyline, but I found myself getting sidetracked by spelling, grammatical and tense mistakes in the text. I would suggest to the author that it would be highly worthwhile to have this and future books - which I believe are intended for children (I admit to not REALLY fitting the category at 69yrs of age) - edited to correct defects which could undermine the readership’s school efforts.

Another wonderful read from Mr. Moyle. I read the 3 books without pause between them. His stories keep me up at night - I get to a point where I have to know what happens next and don't want to put it down!
I set all three books to the same 'finished reading date' as Kindle let me move from one book to the next easily.
