Within the Juan de Fuca fault, monsters stir. A coastal town nestled just outside Seattle, Everett is a picture-perfect paradise, but the Indigenous myths tell of when the darkness came out of the ocean and killed everything, the world cleansed and begun anew. An unusual specimen washed up on the shore has Professors Charlie Wice and Carol Wheatley buzzing with excitement, but what the ocean has spat out is far more dangerous than either could imagine. As the darkness slithers closer, and the deaths start to mount, the residents of Everett and St Aloysius Island are locked in a battle against an enemy as implacable as they are numerous. As the earth shakes once again, another battle looms on the horizon – fast flowing and deadly. Who will survive when the ocean bares its fangs?

I've lived in Bend, Oregon my whole life (which is becoming increasing rare in this boom town.) After the U of O, I wrote Star Axe, Snowcastles and Icetowers.

While trying to write full time, I started filling in at a local book/comic book store, Pegasus Books. Eventually, I became full time and then manager, and then 30 years ago, I bought the store.

My wife opened her used bookstore, The Bookmark, ten years ago and is also writing these days. She has a book online called, Telling Tree, which is wonderful, and will publish her the second book of her trilogy, Once on a Blue Moon.

I have two sons, Todd, an artist, and Toby, a chef.

So my writing career took a back seat while I tried to keep the store alive and raise a family.

In the last few years, the store has become stable enough that I've been able to come back to writing and I've been writing like crazy.

I've just sold a four book deal to Books of the Dead Press. Led to the Slaughter has been released e-book and will soon be available in print form on Amazon. I also sold a trilogy, The Vampire Evolution, which consists of Death of An Immortal; Rule of Vampire; and Blood of Gold.

I've been very busy, with several other books in the works.

I hope you guys will check out my books. I try to make them entertaining and fast reads.

My interests are pretty varied. I have a special place in my heart for B horror movies though. Bring on Tremors and Lavalantulas and Sharkansas Women's Prison! It's great fun and has an odd amount of calm about it. Though McGeary writes fantasy and alt-history as well, I really wish he'd keep his focus in this niche because he is fabulous! In my opinion, he's the best B horror writer out there today. If you want to prove me wrong, send me your stuff, otherwise, I'm keeping my opinion!

So...Snaked...I knew I'd love it before I picked it up. I have a special fondness for the Tuskers series and I assumed this would run along the same lines. We have lots of characters with lots of personality without lots of time building them. We have horror and gore, but not 'ewww I can't read this anymore!' entertainment. What surprised me is that I was expecting this to be a creature feature, and it ended up having the natural disaster element as well! I should probably read the book blurbs on the back sometimes.

In short, because I've been typing too long anyway, if you like campy horror, you absolutely won't be disappointed. This is quick, relaxing read that will give you a few creepies and willies. It's easy to love the characters and the plot. Editing had a few small issues, but I really didn't mind.

So many snakes!

Just what we need...another, more deadly, species of sea snakes. These particular snakes are on a mission to kill. Oh, and another problem...they are everywhere! The journeys of each character are done so well. There are many different challenges with each character but the snakes bring them all together. I was actually freaked out by the snake attacks but that just made me keep on reading. I loved the storyline. A fantastic horror story with a different twist.

Awesome wild ride of a book! The diverse characters are a fun way to experience the story; reading this was like watching a horror movie, it's so visual and visceral!

as with other of Duncan's books, I found I had to read it all at once, when I start, I have a hard time stopping. Liked it and will reread it again.
