Over ten years ago my husband and I were driving from Chicago to Tampa and somewhere in Kentucky I remember seeing a billboard that was all black with five white words, “I do, therefore I am!” I’m certain that it was a Nike ad, but for me I found this to be completely profound.
Take running for example. Most will say that a runner is someone who runs five days a week and runs under a ten minute mile pace. Well, I can tell you that I never run five days a week and on my best days my pace is an eleven minute mile. I have run quite a few half marathons and one full marathon. No matter what anyone says, I am a runner. I do, therefore I am.
I’ve taken this same thought and applied it to so many areas of my life: cooking, gardening, quilting, and yes…writing.
I may not be culinary trained, but I love to cook and my family and friends loves to eat my food. I cook, therefore I am a chef!
My thumb is not black. I love to grow herbs, tomatoes, roses, and lavender. I garden, therefore I am a gardener!
I love beautiful fabrics and I can follow a pattern. My triangles may not line up perfectly…but who cares, my quilts are still beautiful when they are finished. I quilt, therefore I am a quilter.
I have been writing my entire life. It is my husband who finally said, “Who cares if people like your books or not? If you enjoy writing them and you love your stories…then write them.” He has always been my biggest fan and he was right. Being a writer has always been my dream and what I said I wanted to be when I grew up.
So, I’ve told you who I am and what I love to do…now I’m going to tell you the why.
I have two boys that are three years a part. My husband and I want to instill in them adventure, courage, and passion. We don’t expect them to be perfect at things, we just want them to try and do. It’s not about winning the race, it’s about showing up in the first place. We don’t want them to be discouraged by society stereotypes, we want them to embrace who they are and what they love. After all, we only get one life.
In the end, they won’t care how many books I actually sell…all that matters to them is that I said I was going to do it, I did it, and I have loved every minute of it.

A capa linda e a sinopse me chamaram a atenção logo de cara e eu queria muito ter amado essa história, mas infelizmente não foi possível.
Eu gostei dos personagens e estava curtindo a leitura no início, porém conforme fui avançando o meu sentimento foi mudando.
A história segue um ritmo lento, deixo claro que não tenho nada contra isso, até prefiro, mas o que realmente me incomodou aqui foi ter a sensação de andar em círculos e sem muito progresso. Achei que os pensamentos dos personagens tiveram uma repetição em excesso e isso tornou a leitura um pouco cansativa.
Enfim, eu gostei de muitas partes, assim como outras não me agradaram. Novamente sinto que não era o momento certo para ler esse livro. Talvez se meu humor fosse outro, teria curtido mais e não me apegado tanto aos pontos que me incomodaram.

My favorite Kathryn Andrews book to date!
I'm so happy I was able to read an advanced reader copy of this book. I've been chomping at the bit to read it ever since I heard that Kathryn Andrews was writing another sports-centered and southern charm romance. I just LOVE that combination -- football and the beach? Antiques and lemonade? Big southern mansions and small town, charming little hearts? SIGN ME UP.
I will say, the beginning was kind of slow for me. It's hard for me to sign on to the "fake husband" possibility, and it's always been that way for me as a reader. I was actually a little worried that I wouldn't be able to get into the story.
But MAN, was I wrong!
After the first 10-15% or so, I was ZOOMING through this book! I absolutely loved Camille and Reid. Their relationship grew with genuine connections, with opening their hearts to each other and slowly finding comfort together. The lust between them was OFF THE CHARTS, which gave me that angsty feeling that I love so much. And since I'm from Tampa, I loved reading about their romps around town, their drives to and from Savannah, and their days spent at the beach. Sigh. LOVED IT!
For me, the most dazzling part of this southern romance was the conflict. I'm a sucker for well-written conflict, and Andrews nailed it with Chasing Clouds. The tension was so well-built, the climax so well-executed. I was holding one hand to my mouth, shaking my head and speaking out loud to my Kindle like I could talk to the characters and tell them what missing parts they couldn't see. It was fantastic. By the time the end rolled around, I was on the edge of my seat and ready to burst. THAT is good writing, y'all!
This isn't just a romance, either -- it's a story of self-reflection, of understanding how we tick and WHY we tick that way. It was a deep dive of family values, family impact, guilt, expectation, and more. And what I loved most was how Reid and Camille found love in each other when it seemed the last place they were ever meant to be was in each other's arms. SIGH, talk about fate!
Overall, I highly recommend this book -- especially for a light, swoony summer read. Kathryn Andrews didn't just get a hit with this one, she knocked it out of the park. Angsty, sexy, and surprisingly witty, I devoured every page. 5 stars!

I enjoyed Chasing Clouds, it was a pleasant distraction from work and I was pretty invested in Reid and Camille making their 'fake' marriage a real one. Both main characters were likeable, and pretty well developed. In fact, there was a lot I liked about this book. I especially enjoyed watching Camille reclaim her life, even when I found that story line to be a bit improbable. She was such a nice person, it would be nearly impossible not to want to see her happy. Reid was practically perfect , if a little single minded. He was a very compassionate man who loved taking care of his family. There were times the story seemed to be crawling along at a snail's pace, which was a small issue for me. Then I would remind myself these were two people who were just getting to know each other, so it made sense for them to take their time. I had two big issues with the story, which is why I just couldn't give it a higher rating. The first, was Camille's dad. This character was such a cliche, he was practically a caricature. He was a horrible person, but not in a realistic way. I do believe people like him exist, I just thought this particular characterization bordered on cartoonish; it just didn't work for me. The second issue was the big conflict, my least favorite--the lack of communication/misunderstanding. I could see it coming a mile way, and was hoping I was wrong, but I wasn't wrong. It was too predictable, and a little melodramatic, to boot. Overall, I'm glad I read it, and will look for more from this author.

Parte in maniera assolutamente inverosimile,prosegue noiosamente quasi fino alla fine dove ci sarà uno sprazzo di luce che darà un minimo di dinamica alla storia ma in ogni caso nulla che possa salvarla...,per il resto assolutamente piatto e sdolcinato...
Eh io chissà cosa credevo leggendo la trama...😓a mio parere una delusione totale...

La trama mi ha attirato, l'ho iniziato pensando che sarebbe stata una storia da occhi a cuoricino, invece no, mi ha delusa!!! La storia è partita bene, per poi perdersi in una noia, senza nessun mordente fino al 70% del libro per poi riprendersi, e commuovermi un po', un piccolo sprazzo di romanticismo 😅...

The concept of Chasing Clouds was simple yet so unique in my eyes. Although I think that there are quite a few books with the same plot, it was exciting but especially new to me, since I haven't read a story like this before: A stranger speaking up at a wedding ceremony right before the "I do" and trying to save the bride he doesn't know from the groom and the marriage. I've never heard of anything like this happening in real life. It's more of a movie type of concept, or a book in this case, something what dreams are made of because it seems too romantic to happen to real people - unfortunately. But why shouldn't something like this happen for real? I'm sure that Kathryn Andrews believes it can happen to real people which is why I am happy she shared her thoughts on this with the reading world.
Even though Camille and Reid share this special bond which was already visible in the beginning of the book, they are total strangers. Their behavior, their actions, their thoughts, and how they dealt with their situation in general seemed real and believable.
What I also loved about the story was their slow-burn relationship. There was an initial attraction from both sides obviously but there was no insta-love when they first met. The time they took to get to know each other was appropriate and not rushed. Kathryn Andrews really knows how to write her stories.
"Don't ever be sorry, because I would do it all over again if it meant bringing me here to you."
Getting to know the main characters was really exciting, especially Camille's personal and family story was intriguing. It was also quite shocking which is why I was rooting for her throughout the whole story. I was really happy for her but also happy with her because
I also met or rather read about some old friends aka characters from previous Kathryn Andrews' books. It's cool that the stories are so entangled with each other.
"To love oneself is to love life."
The only thing I didn't quite like was that certain scene in the epilogue. It was just a little too much for my liking.
All in all, Chasing Clouds is an amazing book and the reason why I love reading Romance books. It's not cheesy or too sexy, it was angsty, romantic, lovely, and oh so sweet.
I can't wait for her next novel.

Fortuna che all’inizio della lettura ho visto una recensione che mi ha preparato al peggio, perché altrimenti avrei avuto aspettative altissime che sarebbero state deluse alla grande.
Il potenziale c’era, per quanto la storia sia un po’ surreale e inverosimile, se raccontata bene la si poteva accettare (ho letto cose molto più irreali di questa in fondo), peccato che più della metà del libro sia una noia mortale (ho fatto davvero fatica ad andare avanti): oltre a non succedere praticamente niente, venivano pure ripetute le stesse frasi e gli stessi concetti in continuazione. Al colpo di scena si arriva oltre il 70% e per quanto abbia risvegliato un po’ il mio interesse, non basta a recuperare le sorti dell’intero libro. Per me è proprio no.

«Camille.» "Deglutisco e allungo il braccio per prenderle la mano. Lei me lo lascia fare e avvolge saldamente le dita intorno alle mie. Le sue sono fredde, lisce e pallide, e rispecchiano il suo lignaggio, laddove le mie sono calde, grandi e più scure, un’altra netta differenza tra di noi. "
E così inizia la storia incredibile tra Reid, famoso giocatore di football, notoriamente allergico al matrimonio, e Camille, una ragazza dolcissima e affabile in ogni occasione, che però da sempre indossa una maschera di compostezza e perfezione al solo scopo di compiacere i suoi genitori.
Cami appartiene a una ricca famiglia di Savannah per cui sente addosso il dovere di apparire sempre perfetta, impeccabile, rispettosa delle regole sociali. Pur di soddisfare le pretese di suo padre, accetta di sposare un uomo che non ama, suo amico da sempre e a detta di tutti perfetto per lei.
Il suo futuro è stato deciso a tavolino; suo padre è un politico influente che tiene molto alla sua immagine pubblica e non considera affatto il disagio di sua figlia nel vivere quella che di fatto è solo una finzione.
Nel momento che dovrebbe essere il più emozionante per una donna, ossia il rito della celebrazione delle proprie nozze, Cami ha un ripensamento, ma è un attimo fugace. Il dispiacere di deludere la sua famiglia, soprattutto il nonno che vorrebbe vederla sposata, e le convenzioni sociali contrarie a un suo eventuale rifiuto, non le danno la forza né il coraggio necessario per tirarsi indietro.
«Non si tratta di essere felici, ma essere leali alla nostra famiglia e di fare il nostro dovere. Ricopriamo tutti un ruolo, l’abbiamo sempre fatto, ed è ora che io assuma il mio.»
Ma c'è Reid, inaspettatamente, sull’altare difronte a tutti, fronteggiando Patrick, a offrirle una via di fuga e un assaggio di vita insieme.
Inseguendo le nuvole è una lettura scorrevole, affatto scontata, che spinge il lettore a porsi delle domande, soprattutto su quei punti lasciati in sospeso e nel dubbio, in modo sapiente, per instillare curiosità.
Intorno ai personaggi c’è un mondo da scoprire, fatto di segreti inconfessabili e di rimpianti. Un’aura di spiritualità che si coglie fin dall’inizio e che arricchisce la trama; all’apparenza può apparire inverosimile ma è stata pensata per chi ama sognare.
«Resteremo distesi sulla spiaggia a osservare le nuvole. È un rito di passaggio dire gli animali e gli oggetti che si vedono nel cielo.»
«Questo significa che le inseguiremo anche?» Ridacchia.
«No, ho smesso di inseguire le nuvole perché l’unica cosa che mi interessa inseguire sei tu.»

I've read Kathy's stories before and her writing in this case has a nice easy flow, this makes her story a joy to read and perfect to devour in one sitting. She perfectly delivered the story of a heroine who learns how to stand up for herself and a hero who is dumb struck by this heroine.
The result is a story that's endearing, charming and sweet.
Chasing Clouds is such a heartwarming romantic story, I highly recommend it.

And after reading Chasing Clouds by Kathryn Andrews, I can add a new book to that all-time favorites list.
Chasing Clouds is one of the best books I have EVER read. I seriously feel like shouting that as I type this because that is how true that last statement is. I LOVED every single word of this book, and I truly cannot say enough how much it gave me, how much it owned me, and how it truly is one of the best books I have EVER read.
I honestly don’t know if I have the right amount of words to really capture what this book gave me and allowed me to experience while I read it. I just don’t feel as if my words are good enough to capture what Kathryn Andrews so beautifully captured and created in this book. As I read this story, I felt as if I was on fire in a way that I have never quite experienced before when reading a book. This book ignited something in me with its characters as it all unfolded. It had this light and spark and tangible magic that flowed through me as I experienced this story with Camille and Reid. It had me living and breathing and feeling every ounce of this mesmerizing story in a way that truly owned me from start to finish.
Experiencing that is just one of the many things that made me love this book so much.

It's hard to write a spoiler free review of this book. I will try because right now I am all in my feelings. Kathryn Andrews always leaves me totally and completely in love. Not just with the hero or heroine but with her words and the aspect of her stories.
I adored Reid. His passion, dedication, thoughtfulness, and his heart. He was selfless in all this except his vulnerability. That was his fault. His past playing a subconscious part in his present. He is the true definition of action speaking louder than words. My heart, my brother, a piece of my soul was touched with his every word. His thoughts, conflict, memory, and drive.
Camille, so much to say without giving too much away. A shell of a person from neglect, guilt, society views, and her own inner thoughts. Chasing clouds as a way to escape a reality that she didn't want to live. Finding herself in a mist of the great escape.
Yes this book is deep but after "The End" your mind will go deeper.

Kathryn Andrews is one of those authors I have read from her very first book. She was one of those authors whose writing I connected with and she never fails to deliver a book with great characters, emotion, heart, passion and love, and Chasing Clouds was no different.
The fake husband trope has been exhausted but Kathryn Andrews brings her own spin on it marrying the affluent, southern girl to an NFL football player, going against the huge wants and expectations of her parents and everyone else in their stuck-up town. However, it is how they came to be married that had me hooked and seeing as that was how the book started I was sold all the way to the end.
Camille was a girl you couldn’t help but love, she had her past and Kathryn Andrews makes you wait for the killer blow but I had an inkling as to why she felt the need to appease the wants and forced marriage her parents wanted her to have. Camille felt this overwhelming responsibility even though it wasn’t hers to harbour.
Reid was a man that was all about the ball, women and definitely marriage were never on his radar until he found the need to be the only voice of reason in a really shitty situation, he surprised himself. Now stuck with a wife he didn’t want, he needs to keep up appearances but the more time he spends in Camille’s company the more the lines begin to blur.
I loved that this relationship starts as strangers, to friends to more and it was this slow build that led to some fantastically developed characters and ones that you couldn’t help but champion along from the very beginning. I loved that even though Camille was born into affluence, she was just a normal woman at heart who had her own ideals and aspirations and wanted so hard to keep to them.
Their story is packed with familial conflict, a little angst and a whole lot of heart, chemistry and passion and Kathryn Andrews carves their story perfectly. While I feel there was some artistic license with the wedding it didn’t bother me at all and I just read it for the love story it was, who cares about the legalities. I loved the tension, the build-up, but most of all it was the development of the characters themselves. These two had to love themselves before they could love another and it was this realisation that really opened the floodgates for one of the most romantic meet cutes and beautiful blossoming relationships I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Totally loved it.

La storia è molto dolce, Reid protegge Camille portandola a casa sua a Tampa in Florida e nella quotidianità riconosce di star bene con questa ragazza che prima vuole avvicinare come amica per poi cedere all'incessante desiderio di averla tra le sue braccia passando per un sentimento vero e complicato come quello dell'amore. Lui non ha mai detto "ti amo" a nessuna e, complice una luna di miele improvvisata nella spiaggia di Anna Maria Island, finalmente darà sfogo ai suoi reali sentimenti.
Arriva in Italia una nuova autrice: Kathryn Andrews che ci racconta una storia dolce ma dai risvolti inquietanti, Reid e Camille sono i protagonisti.
Camille sta per sposarsi, nel giorno più importante della sua vita è tutto pronto tranne lei che non ama l'uomo sull'altare, Patrick l'ha delusa e lei non ha mai veramente provato un sentimento forte nei suoi confronti. La politica, una famiglia aristocratica e un padre molto autoritario non fanno che obbligarla a compiere quel passo. Camille è una gemella e nella sorella Clare ritrova tutto quello che vorrebbe essere, fiera e combattiva e la fortuna di poter decidere il proprio destino. Lei invece è debole, compiacente e indossa spesso la maschera dei sorrisi di circostanza per tradire la sua vera personalità. Capelli biondi, viso da bambola di porcellana e occhi di un azzurro limpido ama ristrutturare vecchi mobili usati rendendoli vintage con l'arte del shabby chic, ex ballerina classica, quando un ragazzo formula le sue obiezioni e la salva dalla tragedia di un matrimonio senza futuro non smetterà mai di ringraziarlo e di chiedergli continuamente

Questa storia mi ha lasciata perplessa, da una parte trovo che sia scorrevole e ben scritta nonché piena di dolcezza che intenerisce il cuore ma, dall'altra parte, mi trovo a pensare che sia assurda e priva di consistenza. Inizia decisamente bene ma si perde subito con lo svolgimento del matrimonio durante il quale accade qualcosa di inverosimile che mi ha lasciata incredula e basita. Superata questa prima parte speravo che la storia si facesse più interessante invece, per gran parte del libro, l' autrice non racconta nulla di rilevante, descrive solo intere giornate che scorrono piatte e noiose tra i due protagonisti che si sono "sposati" pur non conoscendosi affatto. E qui scatta la delusione perché sinceramente mi aspettavo che accadesse qualcosa di più brioso tra loro e che per il resto si sviluppasse in maniera più dinamica ed accattivante. Dato i presupposti rivelati dalla trama era facile immaginarsi una storia che fosse più avventurosa, avvincente e ricca di colpi di scena. Solo verso la fine la storia finalmente si anima grazie ad una scioccante rivelazione che cattura l' attenzione e dona più slancio e interesse alla lettura. Non amo le storie scritte a mò di lista della spesa trovo inutili tutte quelle descrizioni sull' abbigliamento indossato al momento e dei vari gesti quotidiani come lavarsi i denti a cui molte autrici purtroppo si dedicano, resta comunque una lettura gradevole che consiglio solo a chi ama storie sdolcinate che a loro modo fanno sognare senza pretendere troppo.

The whole meet-cute is unconventional, the friendship they build is a fabulous journey, and the falling in love... *happy sigh* There are little surprises along the way, and at a couple points you WILL need tissues. One of those points came for me while I was in the waiting room at the dentist, which was a bit awkward, but SO WORTH IT!

Come si può restare indifferenti davanti a una cover del genere? Appena l’ho vista ho desiderato leggerlo.
Inseguendo le nuvole è un libro dal sapore dolceamaro, una storia che fin da subito instilla nel lettore delle domande che troveranno soluzione solo verso la fine. Camille e Reid sono personaggi che hanno molto da dire sia divisi che in coppia, Reid crede di avere tutto ciò che desidera, Camille è consapevole di vivere una continua finzione, ma non sa come uscirne. Non potrebbero esistere due persone più diverse di loro eppure, quando i loro occhi si incrociano, capiscono che il futuro può essere diverso. Sta a loro decidere se puntare tutto sull’ignoto o proseguire sulla propria strada.
Camille odia la vita in cui è intrappolata dalla nascita, odia tutto tranne sua sorella e suo nonno. Loro sono gli unici che la capiscono e la appoggiano incondizionatamente, amandola per ciò che è davvero. I genitori e il fidanzato hanno però deciso di ingabbiarla e di soffocare la sua vera natura, ed è per questo che si trova a un passo dall’altare pronta a essere la moglie di un uomo che non ama e che non la renderà mai felice.
«Sei tu che dici sempre che il nostro destino è scritto nelle stelle.» Le sorrido. «Questo è il mio destino.» «E tu rispondi sempre che le stelle non si muovono, siamo noi a farlo. Perciò potresti semplicemente andartene. Ti supplico di andartene, per favore. Non sarai mai felice con lui.» «Non si tratta di essere felici, lo sai. Si tratta di essere leali alla nostra famiglia e di fare il nostro dovere. Ricopriamo tutti un ruolo, l’abbiamo sempre fatto, ed è ora che io assuma il mio.»
Il senso di lealtà nei confronti della famiglia è mal riposto, loro l’hanno sempre manipolata, plasmata e comandata senza chiederle mai cosa volesse fare davvero, cosa la rendesse felice. Basta lo sguardo di uno sconosciuto per capire che lei odia la situazione in cui si trova, detesta ogni minuto della festa prenuziale.
Reid ha poche certezze nella vita, ama sua madre e suo fratello, ama giocare a basket e non si sposerà mai. Invitato dal fratello Nate come accompagnatore al matrimonio di Camille, appena posa gli occhi su di lei si rende conto che è profondamente infelice e questa certezza si acuisce quando sorprende il promesso sposo a spassarsela con una ragazza, sorpreso da Camille. Reid si propone per prendere a calci l’idiota e consola Camille scossa, non tanto per aver trovato il fidanzato con la cugina, quanto per doverlo sposare comunque, nonostante tra loro non ci sia nemmeno una briciola di amore.
Ed è proprio questo il campanello d’allarme che risuona insistente nella mente di Reid e che durante la funzione religiosa lo spinge ad alzarsi e a fermare il matrimonio. Il suo ‘mi oppongo’ gridato forte e chiaro non può essere ignorato e permette a Camille di risvegliarsi dal torpore e di decidere di volere altro dalla vita. Certo i passi da compiere per tornare a riappropriarsi di ciò che era saranno parecchi, ma grazie a questo sconosciuto dagli occhi magnetici, e all’appoggio del nonno, tutto sembra possibile.
«Congratulazioni, figliolo. So che sarete molto felici insieme.» Sorride smagliante e si sporge in avanti per baciarmi sulla guancia. «Sono davvero orgoglioso di te. Le cose trovano sempre il modo di risolversi per il meglio, non dimenticarlo mai.»
Ovviamente un matrimonio deve essere celebrato e così Reid prende il posto dello sposo e convola a nozze con Camille. Nozze che per essere credibili devono avere un minimo di durata e una convivenza. Reid non avrebbe mai pensato che mettersi in casa una donna potesse essere così rilassante e Camille non avrebbe mai pensato che vivere con un uomo la facesse sentire così al sicuro. Il loro rapporto cresce di giorno in giorno, non c’è fretta, si stanno conoscendo come amici, senza mettere in mezzo il sesso che andrebbe ad accelerare il processo e forse a rovinare tutto. Camille comincia a lasciarsi andare, accantonando la paura di far emergere la sua vera essenza repressa da troppo tempo e Reid potrebbe perfino abituarsi a questa ragazza che gli sta migliorando la vita tanto da pensare di voler dare una possibilità a una storia tra loro.
«È incredibile che siano passate solo ventiquattro ore. Ancora non riesco a credere di essere scappata da Patrick, da loro.» «Credici. C’è un sacco di tempo per riflettere sulle cose. La palla è tua adesso, e io faccio parte della tua squadra. Puoi restare qui per tutto il tempo che vuoi.» «Della mia squadra» ripeto, sorridendo. Le sue labbra si curvano all’insù e i suoi occhi luccicano con ilarità. «Cosa posso dire? Sono un ragazzo sportivo fino al midollo.»
Camille è una ragazza semplice e piena di sogni messi da parte. Ha bisogno di qualcuno che creda in lei e che voglia vedere cosa nasconde dietro la maschera di perfezione e compostezza che ha indossato per compiacere la propria famiglia. Reid ha bisogno di avere al proprio fianco una donna che gli dimostri che può essere indifeso, vulnerabile ed esposto senza che lei se ne approfitti. Camille e Reid insieme compiono un’evoluzione importante e capiscono di aver bisogno del sostegno dell’altro per continuare a migliorare, ma non tutto va come si vorrebbe e spesso le incomprensioni e le omissioni possono arrivare all’improvviso e distruggere tutto. Riusciranno Camille e Reid a costruire un rapporto solito o alla prima folata di vento il loro castello di carte verrà spazzato via?
Inseguendo le nuvole non è un romance scontato ed è questa la caratteristica che più ho apprezzato. La scrittura di Kathryn Andrews è scorrevole e le dinamiche tra i due protagonisti sono coinvolgenti. Nonostante io sia una fan sfegatata dei rapporti di odio/amore mi sono appassionata alla storia di Camille e Reid perché dietro questi personaggi c’è un intero mondo da scoprire mai banale. Quindi smeraldi, se anche non siete fan delle storie insta love credo proprio che vi toccherà dare una possibilità a questo romance, sono certa che non ve ne pentirete.

oggi ho il piacere di parlarvi di Inseguendo le nuvole di Kathryn Andrews, contemporary romance tradotto da Paola Ciccarelli e pubblicato agli inizi del mese di maggio.
È molto difficile per me scrivere questa recensione senza dover spoilerare ciò che accade in questo libro. Inizio col confessarvi che questa autrice mi ha totalmente sorpresa, non solo per i personaggi che ha creato, ma anche, e soprattutto, per il suo stile e la peculiarità della storia.
Camille Whitley è la figlia di un ricco senatore del Sud. Un tempo era una donna forte e indipendente ma adesso, schiacciata dalle aspettative della sua famiglia, si ritrova incastrata in un matrimonio, ancora da celebrare, con Patrick Walker, un giovane rampollo dell’alta società. Ma proprio poco prima del fatidico sì, la vita le offre un’uscita d’emergenza sotto forma di uno sconosciuto dagli accattivanti occhi verdi. Reid Jackson ha semplicemente accettato di accompagnare suo fratello al matrimonio di un’amica e non avrebbe mai immaginato di ritrovarsi, invece, con un anello al dito. Eppure non è riuscito a fare a meno di pronunciare quel “mi oppongo” che cambierà inesorabilmente la sua vita.
Il motivo? Reid, suo malgrado, ha assistito all’imbarazzante scena in cui la promessa sposa ha beccato il suo futuro marito a spassarsela con una delle invitate. Ciò che non è riuscito a dimenticare è l’aver scoperto che lei non era tanto scossa per il fatto di aver trovato il fidanzato con sua cugina, quanto per il doverlo sposare comunque.
Nonostante non sia interessato a legami stabili, Reid non riesce a frenarsi e risponde al grido di aiuto che ha letto negli occhi della bellissima Camille e, visto che un matrimonio deve comunque essere celebrato, prende il posto dello sposo e pronuncia il fatidico “lo voglio”.
Letta così la storia può sembrare alquanto improbabile ma, credetemi, l’autrice è stata molto brava a dare un perché all’intera vicenda. Anche se il feeling che Camille e Reid condividono è visibile fin dal loro primo incontro, sono in realtà due estranei che si ritrovano a essere sposati. Ciò che mi è piaciuto molto è stata la scelta dell’autrice di non affrettare la nascita di un legame tra i due protagonisti. Anzi, nonostante l’attrazione sia palpabile sin dall’inizio, il modo in cui la scrittrice ha pensato e descritto il loro comportamento, le loro azioni e il modo in cui hanno affrontato la loro improbabile situazione risulta ben congegnato e credibile.
Camille è un personaggio che si fa un po’ fatica a capire all’inizio ma che si finisce per amare. Appare come un guscio vuoto ed è solo sul finale che si comprende da cosa deriva il suo schiacciante senso di responsabilità e la decisione di annullare se stessa per compiacere gli altri. Ma per fortuna al suo fianco c’è Reid che sin dall’inizio non cerca mai di farla essere qualcun’altra se non se stessa, la vuole così com’è e con lui Camille non sente il bisogno di recitare. Reid è perfetto per lei e ho adorato il suo personaggio, così passionale, altruista, premuroso e devoto, così lontano dallo stereotipo del bad boy di cui solitamente amo leggere.
Altro punto forte di questo libro è sicuramente l’attesa di scoprire la storia personale di entrambi i protagonisti, in particolare quella di Camille che si rivela essere intrigante e sul finale addirittura scioccante. Ciò che le è accaduto mi ha toccata nel profondo ed è per questo motivo che ho fatto il tifo per lei fino alla fine e non avrei mai accettato per questo personaggio un finale diverso da un happy ending. Per fortuna l’autrice non mi ha delusa.
La Andrews cucina il lettore a fuoco lento, svelando con calma la complessità dei suoi personaggi. Mi è piaciuto davvero molto leggere questa emozionante storia e sicuramente non mi farò sfuggire gli altri libri di questi autrice.

Ciò che non è riuscito a dimenticare è l’aver scoperto che lei non era tanto scossa per il fatto di aver trovato il fidanzato con sua cugina, quanto per il doverlo sposare comunque.
Nonostante non sia interessato a legami stabili, Reid non riesce a frenarsi e risponde al grido di aiuto che ha letto negli occhi della bellissima Camille e, visto che un matrimonio deve comunque essere celebrato, prende il posto dello sposo e pronuncia il fatidico “lo voglio”.
Letta così la storia può sembrare alquanto improbabile ma, credetemi, l’autrice è stata molto brava a dare un perché all’intera vicenda. Anche se il feeling che Camille e Reid condividono è visibile fin dal loro primo incontro, sono in realtà due estranei che si ritrovano a essere sposati. Ciò che mi è piaciuto molto è stata la scelta dell’autrice di non affrettare la nascita di un legame tra i due protagonisti. Anzi, nonostante l’attrazione sia palpabile sin dall’inizio, il modo in cui la scrittrice ha pensato e descritto il loro comportamento, le loro azioni e il modo in cui hanno affrontato la loro improbabile situazione risulta ben congegnato e credibile.
Camille è un personaggio che si fa un po’ fatica a capire all’inizio ma che si finisce per amare. Appare come un guscio vuoto ed è solo sul finale che si comprende da cosa deriva il suo schiacciante senso di responsabilità e la decisione di annullare se stessa per compiacere gli altri. Ma per fortuna al suo fianco c’è Reid che sin dall’inizio non cerca mai di farla essere qualcun’altra se non se stessa, la vuole così com’è e con lui Camille non sente il bisogno di recitare. Reid è perfetto per lei e ho adorato il suo personaggio, così passionale, altruista, premuroso e devoto, così lontano dallo stereotipo del bad boy di cui solitamente amo leggere.
Altro punto forte di questo libro è sicuramente l’attesa di scoprire la storia personale di entrambi i protagonisti, in particolare quella di Camille che si rivela essere intrigante e sul finale addirittura scioccante. Ciò che le è accaduto mi ha toccata nel profondo ed è per questo motivo che ho fatto il tifo per lei fino alla fine e non avrei mai accettato per questo personaggio un finale diverso da un happy ending. Per fortuna l’autrice non mi ha delusa.
La Andrews cucina il lettore a fuoco lento, svelando con calma la complessità dei suoi personaggi. Mi è piaciuto davvero molto leggere questa emozionante storia e sicuramente non mi farò sfuggire gli altri libri di questi autrice.

Inseguendo le nuvole è una storia che ha qualcosa di speciale. Un piccolo capolavoro che ho avuto il piacere di assaporare pagina dopo pagina, parola per parola. Vi chiederete cosa può rendere così speciale una storia d’amore a parte naturalmente la vena romantica, la passione, i sentimenti, il modo con cui il cuore prende possesso delle scene. Ebbene, penso che questo libro possieda, oltre tutto ciò che riesce a emozionare, quella sensazione di ignoto che senti sin dall’inizio aleggiare come un velo sottile e che crea l’accattivante curiosità di sapere cosa succederà subito dopo. Il dopo naturalmente sono le mille aspettative che si creano nei pensieri mentre scorri le pagine, fino a quando ti rendi conto che quel dopo non è neanche lontanamente così vicino a quello che invece si avvera come un qualcosa di meraviglioso. L’ignoto, in questo caso, è un uomo sconosciuto che ti offre la possibilità di fare un passo verso la libertà. Un passo importante che può cambiare la vita ma anche salvarla da un destino prescritto. Allora scruti negli occhi verdi e così profondi di quello sconosciuto e ci vedi un mare di possibilità, le sole che possono offrire l’unica via di fuga. Le parole di questa autrice riescono a raccontare quella sintonia che è difficile trovare fra due estranei, che non conoscono quale siano i sogni e le aspettative dell’altro. Eppure, a Reid e Camille basta uno sguardo per avere bisogno di essere avvolti l’un l’altro dal calore di un abbraccio. Loro non hanno un insieme da raccontare perché è il loro dopo che costruisce una storia di scoperte, di tenerezze, di calore ma soprattutto di voglia di stare insieme e trasformare attimi in periodi di vita. Reid è un uomo cui l’idea di relazione e matrimonio sono stati legami che non ha mai voluto, né cercato, ma ora Camille ingombra i suoi spazi, riempie le sue giornate e la cosa sorprendente è il naturale bisogno di viverle insieme a lei.

Una storia che va scoperta momento dopo momento, per aprire il cuore a due personaggi meravigliosi e guardarli mentre si concedono sempre più, giorno dopo giorno. Camille, che appartiene a una delle più importanti famiglie del Sud della Giorgia, abbandona l’apparente rigidità con cui ha costruito il suo aspetto e il suo modo distante di vivere, per riscoprire la voglia di libertà e il bisogno di essere sé stessa, ritrovando semplicemente quella parte dimenticata che aveva oscurato rendendosi troppo disponibile al volere degli altri. La dolcezza di quel ragazzo che viene dal Bronx riesce a farla sentire protetta, sicura e raggiante. E Reid, che oltre al Football e a un amore sviscerale per la sua famiglia, non aveva mai sentito così forte il bisogno di rendere felice una donna così bella e giusta per lui. Adesso, insieme a lei, scopre quell’armonia che pensava di non aver bisogno nella sua vita, costruita in modo che credeva apparentemente perfetto. Un romanzo pieno di amore e di voglia di inseguire la libertà per essere felici. Kathryn Andrews con una scrittura semplice e passionale riesce a entrarti nel cuore sgombrando ogni nuvola per guardare al futuro come a un mare di possibilità.

Definitely my favorite book by this author so far and I LOVE this author! I was blessed with an ARC and couldn’t wait to dive in right away! It’s a page turner! The story never stops...each page grasps you right from the beginning. There are twists you never see coming...there’s a beautiful love story...there’s tragic heartbreak. It has everything. I laughed, cried, SWOONED over Reid (hard)....it’s just a brilliant story you’ll thoroughly enjoy! The chemistry between Camille and Reid is off the charts. This is a must read!!

I loved this story!
There was such a gentleness to it that I felt it was one of those reads that slowly begins to wrap an arm around your heart and then, by the time you reach the ending, you find yourself in the a warm, safe embrace!
It was 'Southern Charm' meets'up and coming NFL starter' meets 'overbearing family expectations'...
I was literally floored at how seamlessly this was written...there was such an ease to the words as I found myself so invested in the storyline between the two easily lovable mains!
It's like this was a story that HAD to be told and the only author capable of doing this beautiful tale justice was Kathryn Andrews!
There was mystery, angst and such a powerful connection between Reid and Camille in this story that you will not be able to stop yourself from falling in love with these characters and their struggles as they both fight to find the happiness they both so desperately deserve!
Such a beautiful story with heavy accents of life lessons and core values laced through out the beauty written on the pages!
I couldn't recommend this book more!

Sorry, I just can't wrap my head around this idea. The storyline is beyond believable. Who does that for a stranger?!! Also, I'm not a fan of insta-love and this book was the epitome of it. I couldn’t pass 15%.

3 it was good until the last two hours stars
I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again. I really hate listening to a book and it’s overall, light and angst free until the last two hours when authors need to throw in that last bit of drama for the climatic ending. I don’t get it. Why? I HATE miscommunication in books. I loath it. Something as simple as having a conversation could have prevented TWO hours of hardship.
With that said. I liked the first part of the book. I’m not sure if I would have liked it as much if I was reading it since the pace was a bit slow, but I like slow paced books in audio format. I basically picked up this book because of the narrators. I love Callie Dalton and Stephen Dexter.
This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I don’t really know how I feel about it. I think if she will continue to have last bit of angst towards the end of the book for her books it might not be my cuppa.
The storyline was cute and I liked that the Hero saved her on the wedding day. I liked listening to them getting to know each other. The past hardships that Heroine went through was a stretch, but I went along with it.
Like I said, it was okay until the ending.

Oh man I loved this book! It had everything I love. Plot twists, romance, one swoon worthy guy, and so much more. From the very beginning I was hooked. Camille is a daughter of a southern Senator expected to marry the man her father has chosen, and live the life her father and fiancé have planned. At the moment of truth, a stranger stands up and objects. Reid is an NFL player who has spent his life focused on the game to provide a better life for his mother and brother. He has no desire to ever marry but he sees that Camille doesn’t want to marry Patrick and impulsively offers to marry her instead.
As they get to know each other they develop a friendship that grows into so much more. Reid is amazing. He’s caring, protective, kind, has a genuine interest in Camille’s wants and wishes, and don’t even get me started on his paper airplanes! Camille is loving and kind, but is conflicted. Will she give in to her family and go back to her old life or will she and Reid get the HEA they deserve?
There is so much more to this story than just a marriage of convenience that turns to true love. It’s about love, healing, and being true to yourself. The emotion in this book is beautiful and moving. It left me with a big happy smile on my face. I loved the mention of Beau and the others from the Hale Brothers Series too😊 Definitely read this book!
