Snow Valley Romance

Caught Kissing the Cowboy

Rate this book
She was caught kissing the wrong cowboy…or was he Mr. Right?

Tomi Jensen thought she’d landed the ultimate role when she was cast opposite of her Hollywood crush, Jake Kelley. It only took a few weeks of working with the self-absorbed actor to make her regret ever taking the part. When the film location for Whisper Falls changes to Snow Valley, Montana, Tomi is determined to finish filming so she can move onto bigger and better things. Throwing herself into her role as a small-town veterinarian, she shadows Dr. Ian Davies, the local vet her sister has been trying to set her up with for the past year. While Ian is single, extremely good-looking, and nice to old ladies and children, Tomi isn’t looking to fall in love, especially with a man who never plans to leave his hometown. But spending two weeks with the hot cowboy complicates everything, and soon Tomi’s dream of becoming an A-list actress starts to fade into the background as she and Ian grow closer. Still, when an opportunity for a bigger role comes her way, Tomi needs to decide what she wants more…living in the limelight or living with true love.

*Happy Sigh*

This was such a fun read, I couldn't put it down! Tomi is an up and coming Hollywood star and is thrilled when her next movie is set to be filmed in the hometown of her sister, Piper (you may remember her from Destiny Came Knocking). To really get into her role as a veterinarian Piper sets her up to spend a couple weeks shadowing the town's handsome, and single, vet Ian Davies. The spark really fly between Tomi and Ian! From their first meeting their chemistry was just jumping off the pages. It was so fun watching their story unfold. There were a lot of memorable and unique moments for these two. It was a captivating story and I totally LOVED how things end up, I was not expecting that!

Overall, this was a fantastic story, really fun and great characters. Definitely one to grab and enjoy this summer! I can't wait for more from Ms. Anderson, she always delivers some great swoony romances!

It's no secret that I love a fun celebrity story and this one has the roles reversed from the usual tale. Tomi is an actress and has come to Snow Valley (her sister's new hometown) to film. She has to shadow Ian for her role as a vet and the sparks instantly ignite.

There are a few fictional locations that I feel right at home in and wish that I could visit, or even live in, and Snow Valley is one of those places for me. I love how each story incorporates characters from previous books in the series and I feel like I have a lot of dear, sweet friends now.

Both Ian and Tomi have no intentions of getting together, despite her sister's wishes, but they just can't deny, nor stay away from the electrical currents flowing between the two of them. I think I almost got shocked a few times from the intoxicating zips of romance zinging between them. I loved how they adapted to their directions in life and to their individual dreams.

This is a delightful fluff read and I enjoyed every delicious minute of it.

I thoroughly enjoyed “Caught Kissing the Cowboy” by Cindy Roland Anderson. I have now had the privilege of reading five works by Ms. Anderson and have awarded five-stars to four offerings. I was pleased to find this to be a well written, light-hearted, and enjoyable read. She offered great character development and a storyline that kept my interest from beginning to end. At the risk of revealing a spoiler or two, the scene where Ian finally has enough and confronts “pretty-boy” Jake Kelly had me had me cheering him on. I was a bit disappointed when he held back and did not mess up Jake’s face. I recommend the clean, contemporary western romance to my friends.

Cute!

Somehow I was expecting this to be a novella, since it was a “Return to Snow Valley.” I was pleasantly surprised to find a full-on novel, and was compelled to stay up late reading it!
Full of humor, embarrassing moments while Tomi is shadowing veterinarian, Ian Davies, and more embarrassing moments as they are caught kissing over and over again. I loved every minute of it!

Content: clean (some kissing)

Tomi Jensen has always wanted to be an actress; it's in her blood! So when she gets an opportunity to play a vet in the town where her sister lives, she goes early so she can follow a real-life vet to learn more about her role. That real-life vet is Dr Ian Davies, the same man her sister has been wanting to set her up with.

There is no lack of chemistry between Ian and Tomi, but there are lots of seemingly insurmountable obstacles: Tomi is supposed to act like she's in love with her co-star Jake Kelley (to keep him happy so he doesn't ruin her big break), which is getting a lot harder to do when she is falling in love with someone else. She knows they are only filming in Snow Valley temporarily and she can't leave acting.

Romance, clean; series, but stand alone read
3.5 for me as a reader, but rounded up. Cute revisit to Snow Valley. Great characters, and lots of cameo's from other novels/novellas. Tomi and her acting career, and Ian and his veterinary practice made for a cute fall! They had great chemistry, were genuine honest hearts, and fun premise. Best setting, cute fall, and some great moments in this Hollywood in Montana backstory novel. Great for a quick romantic read!

Caught Kissing the Cowboy (Return to Snow Valley Romance) - PG
Violence: none
Language: nothing offensive
Sex: no sex, some kissing

The thing about these Snow Valley romances is that you really need to read them all at once and together because there are obviously old and dear friends that you get to revisit when you read. Still, a good story!

Tomi, actress, is playing the role of a veterinarian in her movie. She shadowed a real veterinarian, Ian, for two weeks. Light reading, so I read it one sitting. They have to keep it professional, but the more Ian and Tomi were together it was difficult to remain professional. You have probably heard of the saying 'if you love sometimes you have to let them go', Sacrifices are the name of the game where love is concerned. Tomi had lots of new experiences while assisting Ian on his rounds. Delightful story. Recommend this one.

Such a great book! A first time author and I really enjoyed her writing style. I got this book through Kindle Unlimited from Amazon. I enjoyed the flirty banter between the main characters and the funny moments that had me laughing out loud. I love it when I story can do that! And it can't hurt that the story was set in one of my favorite states...Montana!

Ian and Tomi hit it off right away and quickly became friends that led to love. It was a little fast but it made sense so I don't count off for that. The attraction was there from the very beginning. And there was a lot of kissing....like, a lot! It's a clean book which is also another plus.

Rating: PG -some implied harsh language but nothing that was ever typed out, lots of kissing (some intense at times)
Language: no profanity or use of deity - some "mild" swear words that were actually never mentioned just implied
Recommend: Yes!

Tomi is an actress who's film relocated to my favorite small town Snow Valley. Her sister lives there so she was able to spend time with her and of course her sister has been wanting to set her up with the one and only Ian Davies but she's not interested in dating anyone. Ian is the town veterinarian and Tomi has to shadow him for her role and oh boy the steamy chemistry was just oozing off the pages...Like fireworks were going off from day one. I loved the characters, the witty writing and the strong connections. I love when a celebrity is involved. They had to figure life out and I loved how it ended.

One of the best!

I love most all of the Snow Valley stories, and I love most all of Cindy Roland Anderson's books - this one is a new favorite from both!

I've loved Ian from previous stories, & I'm so glad that he finally got his girl. Tomi was perfect for him, as was this story.

Clean romance level: passionate kissing of get-me-to-the-church-on-time intensity

Sizzle!

What a wonderfully romantic story. I can’t wait to read the rest in the series. Who in their right mind wouldn’t want to move to Montana & fall in love with the HOT vet?!?
Oh, I almost forgot....I already love a hot retired farmer/rancher in Nebraska.
Any man with such a loving heart, for children and animals of all sizes, has sizzle +!!

A good read!

Ian and Tomi are such a cute couple and great people. I like that there was no pretense or misinterpretation of feelings and events. I also like that Ian and Tomi professed their feelings when they felt them.

This was a cute story with likable characters.

I think if the kissing and the attraction had been left out, this book would be a fraction of its current size. I would rate this 3.5 and round up to 4.

Could have been great, except for the Other Man...

Characters:
Tomi Jensen - 25 - Actress
Ian Davies - 31 - Veterinarian
Jake Kelley - Actor - The Other Man

Summary:
Tomi is an actress who arrives in Snow Valley to shoot a movie. She shadows Dr. Ian Davies because her character is a veterinarian. Her sister lives in Snow Valley and has been wanting to set Ian and Tomi up on a blind date. She spends two weeks shadowing him but works months with him later.

My Review:
The story started out great. I really liked Tomi and Ian. They have good chemistry and they are flat out funny together. There were many moments where I laughed at something they said to each other. They had the cutest way of flirt teasing with one another, I loved it. Their romance heats up pretty quickly. They both resisted at first, Ian had some very narrow minded views about Hollywood and actresses. Tomi hated the cold and didn't want to stay in Montana for long. They put up token resistances but gave in fairly quickly, their attraction was too strong. Their first kiss is smoking. I may have swooned a little. The kisses after that kept getting hotter and more swoony.

When Jake was first introduced, I assumed that Tomi was in a fake relationship with him to promote their film. That happens in Hollywood. I was OK with that, as long as she told Ian and he was OK with it. When I realized that she wasn't going to tell him and that more than likely he would find out in a way that would hurt his feelings and cause drama, I started getting annoyed. Add to that, she was leading Jake on. Even though Jake is a douche, he still thought Tomi was infatuated with him and that she was exclusively into him. Jake wasn't exclusive but he expected Tomi to be otherwise he'd have her removed from the film.

I stopped reading the book at 56%, I DO NOT read books with Other Man/Woman in them. I kind of got mad at this point. I would have never started the book if I had known. Normally, when I dislike a book so much that I don't finish it, I leave a 1-star rating. I am not going to do that here. I liked this book and Ian/Tomi too much to do that. I just can't stomach the Other Man/Woman plot device.

This is a really good book. It's well-written with likable characters. If you are OK with the Other Man trope, then I suggest reading this book. This book would have been a 5-star rating for me, if Jake hadn't been in it.

Location: Snow Valley, Montana

Romance Rating: This is a sweet, clean romance with no swearing or sex. The romance is believable. The HEA was well done and left me feeling happy. The epilogue occurs 3 weeks later but it's a solid one.

Continuity Issue:In the last chapter, Ian has a birthday. He turns 33. Months passed in the book, not two years. I skipped from 56% to 95%, surely two years didn't pass during that time?

Favorite Quote(s):

“My husband has thought of a few names combining our two names. I told him he can name any children he gives birth to. Otherwise, the final say is mine.”

“All this time I’ve been looking for a girl I can spend the rest of my life with, but what I found is a girl I can’t live without.”
