Hail to the king is a wonderful story that shows us the progressive relationship between Ryn and Desmond. The path of Ryn’s life hasn’t been easy. Having been blackmailed by a family member and then made to pay by a sleezy man from work she is definitely down on her luck and stuck in a hard and dark place. Scrimping and saving to help her sister, trying to keep it together and getting stronger by the day… Ryn just wants to survive. Enter Desmond King, helping Ryn to pick herself up and become the woman she is meant to be. He is strong, brooding and short on words but can see what is inside Ryn, even when he sees her vulnerability and the situation, she finds herself in, he seems to be her quiet strength.
What I really liked about this book is the slow burn between Ryn and Desmond. Desmond is completely honest about his sexuality which is really refreshing and Ryn seems to take everything in her stride. There are definite moments where your heart breaks for the two of them but they have an enormous amount of strength which can be seen throughout the book.
There are some moments in the book such as the scene with the sister where I think she deserved more than a good telling off, but overall this was a really good read.

Desmond and Kathryn's story is darker than the rest of the series, she's been a rape victim/slave for the last 3 years. Desmond is a Dom and the man that helps save her.
Once the King brothers destroy the man that kept her under his thumb, they set about helping Kathryn in whatever way she will accept. She refuses to take any of their money, so they hire her as Cal's PA since she has the qualifications. She loves her job but she is still suffering from depression and is kind of drowning herself in her job to keep from thinking about it.
Desmond finds himself lusting over Kathryn, but he also knows that he isn't what she needs after all she's been through. He had a traumatic childhood experience so he understands what she's going to go through, so instead he does small things to help her with the trauma recovery, slowly becoming her friend.
Watching Desmond who is basically a human robot because of the amount of control he exerts over himself and his world(his response to his trauma) slowly start displaying emotions was sweet, and watching Kathryn learning to trust both brothers was empowering.
Desmond's kink is consent which I've never seen before and was intensely satisfying. It's present in most stories but it's the actual act of consent that turns him on/gets him off.

This one kept me up much longer Than I anticipated and away from work in The morning.
Ryn is one sweet girl That was cought in The middle of nad things (I recommend reading book 2 for even better background but it can be read as standalone). She has some issues and she needs help/Time And some more things In The end Bug for That you will have to read The book.
Desmond... Is A one hell of A man. I was not sure what to think about him but... now when Im after The story I think I have New fav małe character for now!
I really welcomed That this book was not oversexed and There was really A lot going on! And The author made sure That one thing That is mostly out of The scenes was There which I was glad for! But what it is? You have to read The whole story That I will be devouring soon once again!

Kinky billionaire romances are such a guilty pleasure! They are all over my reading history and I have no defense except I love the fantasy of "what if the people with all this power wielded it ethically?"
On that note, the Kings of the Tower series is an archetypal example, creating a kink community where ethical behavior is the rule and breaking from that norm is punished ruthlessly by moral billionaires.
Hail to the King continues a storyline that touches on one of those breaks, which means it contains some heavier than normal content. It's tricky stuff and not for everyone, but I love Ryn and her billionaire. It falls into the highly specific genre of "woman mistreated by a dominant but unable to walk away from kink is gently courted by The Dom of Doms in her community and is carefully able to reclaim her pleasure, also get revenge", a shelf it shares with His Domination by Cynthia Dane. And I love Monica and Henry, too, so...

Hail To The King (#3) by May Sage: ***** heartwarming and sexy, with a slow burn.
I loved this story! Ryn is a wonderful, strong and caring woman, who is taken advantage of by family, and then blackmailed and abused. Des King seems to have it all, but was kidnapped and traumatized as a child. Accordingly, they both have demons that changed them, and they end up being perfect for each other. A really good storyline with a nice HEA. Some BDSM, skillfully intertwined. Disclosure: I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it.

I loved Desmond and Ryn story!
You can see a little of their story in the previous book but in this book. This book just started after the end of the previous book but some chapter are about the past and others about the present.
This book is longer that the previous book and what I expected, however, after reading it worths because all is well explained. Also, you can see a little about other characters. We can meet Callum a little more and I can’t wait for his book.

So friggin good.
Addictively brilliant. Thought the book was absolutely wonderful. Heartbreaking, evil, annoying, sexy, funny and just so good I had to read in one sitting. Kathryn has been to hell and back too many times and thank god Desmond finally acts on his suspicion. It’s tough reading but the story is well told and just pulls you in. Forgive me but id hoped for more descriptive payback for the sister and the ex boss. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

This book made you keep turning pages from the very beginning.
This book will work well if your reading it without reading the first two books although you get more out of it if you read the other books first.
Run and Desmond have their moments and when they do they drag you in even further.
Wonderfully written and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

Oh my god!! What a book! The story rocks and gives you insight not only with this storyline, but pieces of the other books in the universe, too. I really liked the character development for some of the minor players that I can definitely see upgrading to star roles in the next installment. I can’t wait to read the next one!!

This is the third book in the series and the third book of May Sage's that I have read and I can't wait for the fourth.
I was intrigued and caught right up in the storyline. The characters are deep enough to understand their reasoning, and give away just enough of themselves to make the story worth reading.
You do not have to read these in the series, they work as standalone, no cliffhangers.

I am so in love with this series!!!!!! The brothers are all hot as hell. Desmond had a heart of stone until Ryn came along. Ryn had no confidences in herself until Desmond came along. This is a must read! On to the next book. BTW May Sage can truly write a book!!! Keep up the good work Sister.

Desmond and Ryn’s story is so deliciously emotional. The horror that was the last three years of Ryn’s life is just beyond words. She is the perfect match for the oldest King brother, bringing out his softer side. I highly recommend thus read. I freely reviewed this ARC.

As this story is more triggering than most, I had to pause reading several times. But it is the mark of great writing that I still felt the need to finish the story. Desmond is everything, and Rye is so strong. A fascinating tale.

Another great story in the series!
Desmond and Ryn were everything I was hoping for. I loved the storyline even with the few typos running through the writing. Can't wait for Callum's story.

Fantastic
This book was fantastic. The way Desmond & Ryn’s relationship evolved was definitely unique. I just kept getting sucked deeper into the story and was sad when it ended. Can’t wait for the next one in the series!

It is an okay read
I gave this book 3 stars because the love scene was not hot enough. For BDSM, I expected the sex scene to nearly burn through the page but it didn’t for me. It lacked the emotional entanglement component.

Another steamy, sexy, Kings book from Sage. I have already purchased book 4 and look forward to continuing the series. I love how she brings in past couples and keeps their storyline alive.
