Brice is my best friend, but lately I’m having very unusual feelings toward him. I’m having trouble seeing him as my platonic buddy. He seems to be having trouble seeing me that way too. I had a bright idea that we could maybe help each other out and relieve a little tension. Unfortunately, now that we’ve crossed that line, I can’t go back to just being his friend.
However, Brice isn’t ready for anyone to know how we feel about each other. But as much as I love him, I’m not sharing him. He needs to make a decision.
Brice and Peter were best friends growing up. They went to college and had planned to be roommates until housing messed up. Peter has had Patrice as his girl friend for awhile now but their relationship is lacking. The problem is Peter isn't really attracted to her anymore but he can't keep his eyes off of Bryce. Peter has just about decided that he is bisexual and the only person he wants is his best friend Brice. When Peter's roommate moves out and Brice moves in, the temptation grows worse. Peter suggests that they can give each other a hand (literally) to help release stress and Brice is willing. However their first time turns into a full sexual encounter which brings out even stronger feelings in Peter. Brice however is unwilling to admit that he is bisexual or gay and wants to hide their sexual relationship.
This is a good friends to lovers story with the stress of coming out of the closet. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is the 2nd book in the My Best Friend Wants Me series. Each book can be read as a standalone. This best friends to lovers is an MM book. Brice and Peter have been best friends. Peter is struggling with how to tell his friend that his feelings have changed for him. Once they decide to cross that line. It's Brice who has an issue with coming out and letting people know they are more than best friends. This was a quick but very steamy read. I am loving this MM series.
This one was less steamy than the one before it with just two intimate scenes between the pair. It absolutely works as a standalone. I'd warn that there is some cheating as the first scene with Brice happens while Peter still has a girlfriend - even if they are on the rocks because he can't perform, it still counts as cheating to me. As with book 1, they don't use condoms either. Still, there was some sweetness in there. I did like the epilogue with the friend group and talk of parents etc.
A short novella so really quick to read. This book is based on Brice and Peter. I found this one highlighted how young the characters were because the maturity wasn't there. It felt like there was no give and take. It is a single POV so we see the story from Peter's viewpoint. It would have been useful to know what Brice was thinking because his head seemed all over the place. It has a HFN ending. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Ok story. The drama in this one felt very juvenile to me, like, Junior high or even elementary school level. I may or may not have rolled my eyes a time or two. Good for some entertainment at least.
I’d recommend if you like these tropes but maybe check out the sample, as this is not in KU, to see if it’s right for you.
I received a free copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and am voluntarily leaving a review.
These two guys Bruce and Peter have a rough road to travel. But figuring things out together is always the best solution to any problem. I liked how the story flowed, it had good pacing. I would certainly recommend this book to others who enjoy MM romance
This book was pretty good. Brice and Peter’s feelings for each other change, and Brice has a hard time dealing with the potential fallout of that. Peter is super hurt of course and it almost breaks them. Thankfully they figure it out and get their HEA.
