Padrien Townsend was thrown head first into the street life, when he’d gotten wind of his mother’s life teetering in the balance. His friend, Don, offered him a job but it required that he traveled. With Lena Townsend’s next breath depending on a down payment, Padrien accepted his friend’s offer and sought a means to fly under the radar. Frenchie, a pretty faced nurse, assisted Padrien in his money mission by providing him with the transportation needed to make his first trip. Once the duo realized the ease of transporting narcotics they began dropping pounds of marijuana across a tristate area. Padrien and Frenchie masterminded one of the largest drug scandals to hit the state of South Carolina, until the law got involved. What started out as a quick trip, resulted in a ride of their lives.
Driven is the story of Frenchie and Padrien and how they both become entangled in a web of love, lies, drama, friendship, and crime. Padrien is suffering from great loss and needs help finding his way. Frenchie is dealing with her own issues, and is desperately seeking a way out. The two meet, and the sparks begin to fly… but the conflict also arises.
This book goes through multiple twists and turns, much like a road trip, as you travel through the plots and subplots. The author clearly took her time to spin this well-thought out tale. Great read, and I wouldn’t mind reading another book by this same author.
