Brilliant ! An absolute all star stuff ! Mick Bose really outdid himself with "Lie For Me." Couldn't put it down.
What a great story and an amazing plot with excellent character development. Dark and Twisted. The action and suspense never quits. Full of unexpected twists and turns. Couldn't get the story out of my mind. This is my first Mick Bose read, already subscribed for the ARC as I have become a fan of him. I look forward to reading more from Mick Bose in the future. A highly recommended novel for those who love thriller with dark, twisted plots.
I wasn't sure at the beginning if this book was going to be as good as his others but I wasn't disappointed in the least. Definitely a few surprising twist that made it a even more compelling read. I had to stay up late to finish it off. While flipping back through the past and present made a complicated story line when it was over it was the author's way of making it even more spellbinding as you realize the pathology of a psychopath years in the making.
Every now and then you come across a read which is fast-paced, exciting and almost impossible to put down - this IS that book!
Emma has a very happy and contented life with her husband, Jeremy, and her daughter, Molly. So when she receives several notes threatening Molly, it turns her world inside out. Who could possibly be doing this - and why? It seems the perpetrator is not giving up and Emma begins to realise she is being shadowed wherever she goes. When her husband's life is threatened, Emma knows that she has to 'woman up' and put a stop to it all, whatever it takes. She needs to put a halt to the downward spiral which is dominating her days and nights.
This is a different direction for this author, but no less captivating than his excellent spy thrillers. An imaginative and compelling plot, splendidly written and so gripping! I savoured this novel, and have no hesitation in recommending it to those who like a well-written and riveting thriller. It definitely deserves a full house of stars!
My grateful thanks to the author for the opportunity to read this novel. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.
I received a free advance e-copy of this book and have chosen to write an honest and unbiased review. I have no personal affiliation with the author. Mick Bose really outdid himself with "Lie For Me." Wow! What a great story and an amazing plot with excellent character development. Dark and Twisted. The action and suspense never quits. Full of unexpected twists and turns. Couldn't put it down. Couldn't get the story out of my mind. In my opinion this is his best book so far. I look forward to reading more from Mick Bose in the future.
This was a captivating story. It had interesting characters and suspense on every page. This was a boo I couldn't put down until the end. Highly recommend .
Emma Dixon seems to have it all! A great husband and wonderful daughter..but life isn’t always as it appears. What lengths would you go to to save your daughter and keep your secrets safe? Emma received some disturbing messages and threatening emails about Molly. At the same time some Emma has some unexplained events happen that bring suspicion upon herself. Someone is stalking Emma and danger becomes imminent , what will it take for the truth to come out? This was a pretty decent read and it definitely captured my attention, however there were a few things that just didn’t really seem to get answered nor fit into the story line.. This book did keep me guessing though, just when I thought I had it figured out which is always a plus for me! All in all a good twisted read!!
When I first started this novel I didn't think it was for me, but as I got into it I just had to keep going. Normally I go for police procedures or similar but this did peak my interest, and I did manage to work a lot of it out myself, but that is why I love a good thriller so I can pit my wit against the authors. I have always loved this authors writing and always a great story but the Arla Bakers to my mind are still the best. One thing I did find annoying was that it floated back and forth some 20 odd years, yes you needed to know why but I haven't met an author who has not started a book with the older date and finish with the present time, perhaps someday somebody will tell me, but until then a great read.
An amazing story of secrets and lies. Emma, Jeremy and Molly are a happy little family with lots of hope for the future; but Emma is now in big trouble. For 8 years she has been hiding a terrible secret which has actually left her vulnerable to evil people emerging from her past attempting to totally destroy all that she loves. This is an incredible story of love, loss, good and evil. The story consists of nail biting suspense and twist and turns, page after page. I highly recommend this story, but be prepared to be shocked at the ending.
Full of secrets, misdirection, danger, love and family. Emma had a lot on her plate, especially protecting her daughter and trying to keep the man she loved. She was a strong woman, though she hung onto her secrets tightly even from her husband. As things escalated and Emma found she could not trust those close to her, she felt more isolated. The ending was worthwhile. At times, I felt the story dragged, but overall, it was an interesting story.
I received an ARC, and this is my unsolicited review.
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and found myself second guessing every thought I had continuously. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
This story grabbed me from the first page and drew me in. I couldn't put it down. The characters were believable and the twists kept me guessing. If you enjoy fast paced stories with a strong female lead, this book is a must read. I received an advance copy of this book via the author and this is my honest review.
This is a different type of book from ML Rose as. he normally write Police procedurals which I enjoy. There is some Police involvement in this psychological thriller but it centres around a woman who has an interesting past which is slowly revealed throughout the book as the plot develops. A well written easy read.
Not bad, but almost too many things going on. Crimes everywhere and no one is even curious as to investigate. Plus I have a few unanswered questions. Like why did it take 8 years to come back for Molly. Who really hit Hen.
This has a good storyline but I feel bits of it needed tweeking. Also there are words missing and extra words in wrong places, I think it needs proof reading a few more times.
Hard to describe. A former lover who is a con artist, murderer, and stalker? How about a best friend that has never really been your friend? Oh, I forgot, the police don't believe you either. This book will keep you wondering until the end. I was gifted by the author.
Wow! This book really has you on the edge of your seat. I had to keep reading long after I should have taken a break because I had to find out what was going to happen next. So good. Loved it.
