The narrative was well crafted to tell a compelling story about the rejection of evil and finding faith. While not dwelling on the gorey aspects of the horrors of the inquisition the narrative clearly shows the monstrous nature of this period of depravity. The salvation of the main character is skillfully woven into narrative contrasted with his depravity. I finished understanding both the evil permeating a man-made religion and the true plan of God in loving and redeeming His creation. So I felt the story was well crafted and believable. The weaving of historical fact was outstanding and made this very worthwhile to read. I feel like i learned much in a very readable work.
