Rate this book
Fall in love at Bayside, where sandy beaches, good friends, and true love come together in the sweet small towns of Cape Cod. Bayside Summers is a series of standalone steamy romance novels featuring alpha male heroes and sexy, empowered women. They're fun, flirty, flawed, deeply emotional, always passionate, and easy to relate to.

**BAYSIDE ESCAPE is a USA TODAY Bestseller**

Hold on to your hat for Violet's wildly hot love story! Lizza is up to her old tricks again, and Violet is in for the surprise of a lifetime!

Two years ago Violet Vancroft was a nomadic artist who never wanted to put down roots and Andre Shaw was a prominent Boston physician whose roots ran too deep to unearth. Their love didn't stand a chance-or at least that's what Violet believed when she received a plea for help from the sister she'd never really known-so she snuck away like a thief in the night.

Now Andre travels the world setting up new medical clinics, and Violet has finally found the family she'd always craved and the roots she'd never known she wanted. When their paths cross unexpectedly, it's not the reunion either one imagined. But they've never stopped loving each other, and after the dust of anger and hurt settles, passion ignites even hotter than before. As the end to Andre's time at the Cape nears, reality sets in, leaving them no closer to a future than they were before. Violet and Andre are forced to dig deep to discover if they're destined to live apart forever or if true love really can conquer all.

I just want to make it clear that this is not my first read & Melissa Foster happens to be a TOP 5 of my author's! Therefore I have read almost every single book of her's and also have read this entire series.

I LOVED Andre so much in this. Actually I loved both characters because they were unique and strong in their own. I loved Andrew because after having gone through his hardship, he is standing strong and willing to put himself out there again. The reason I loved Violet a.k.a Daisy is because she is BADASS, but also sweet.

When both of them get a chance to come back where it all started, they attempt to pick up where they left off-ish, i say ish because they could never pick up where they left off. Because when you have two people who thought would spend the rest of their life together BOTH get heart-broken...where do you go from there...even years after.

I have to say that i mostly LOVED Andre's parents...his mom is the shit haha! Also means that one of my favorite scenes were when they got to meet Violet.

But, this book broke my heart...I can't say much because I don't do spoiler alerts BUT i will say that you might need some tissues & the happily ever after ending...is magical!

I am rating this a 5 PLUS & HIGHLY RECOMMEND! This can be read as stand-alone but I would recommend the whole series!!

I read half the book before I gave up. I don't even know how I managed to get there. I don't know if I am on a book funk or something because everyone else is loving the book, but I couldn't bring myself to finish it and I know what didn't help with the whole situation. The only bright spot was the mention of Brindle whose book is one of my most anticipated reads of 2019. I assume Andre was one of the men she mentioned spending a lot of time with.

Before you accuse me of misogyny or hate or anything else, note that I have said the same things (and worse) about other books and male characters.

Here is a quick summary of Violet and Andre's relationship. These two were together 2 years before the events of the book, but Violet got a call one night and she left him without saying a word to him in order to go back home. In present time Andre is her mother's date at her sister's wedding (no worried though he doesn't sleep with the mother). That was a bad start for me and the book. Things became worse when Violet went to Justin's place and we found out that they used to be f*cking buddies and guess what. RIGHT AFTER she returned to her home town (and from what I gathered that was immediately after she left Andre) she decided to sleep with Justin to f*ck Andre out of her system. I didn't need to know that. 10 nameless men would have been a better option if you ask me. The final nail in the coffin came when she had a speech about how she never got over him and she was still in love with him and blah blah blah. Yeah lady, I definitely believe you. Of course, Andre said the same things and he did say that he tried to be with other women and that made things even worse. I am sorry, but I am not buying these lines anymore. Girl you didn't even try to move on after Andre like any other person would do. And you left me without an explanation or something while they could have worked things out. She was jealous and she had no right to be. At least I hope that by the time Justin's book arrives, I will have completely forgotten about the two of them and it won't be mentioned in his book.

I was very disappointed with this book and it makes me sad. I love Melissa Foster's books and I have mostly given them 4 or 5 stars with 3 being the lowest, but I couldn't finish the book. I hated the Justin/Violet part of the story and how quickly she decided to move on. And they were apart for 2 years. Maybe another time I will revisit the book and try to be more positive.

PS. I changed my original 2 star rating to 1. I just can't get over the sadness of not liking this book, but I am tired of the same trope.

I will admit that Violet wasn’t my favorite character in the Bayside series. Violet exemplifies the word badass. Swearing, gruff behavior, black clothes and a motor cycle—yes-that’s Violet. Her behavior bothered me but, Violet loved her sister Desiree and would do anything for her. I knew underneath the tough talk and black leather there was a story waiting to be told.

Bayside Escape is one of my favorites Melissa Foster novels. It’s so much more than I expected. There are a lot of family and trust issues and so many secrets. Violet keeps a huge piece of herself separate from those who love her. Learning why she’s led a double life adds so much depth and emotion to the story.

Violet and Andre met in Ghana when they volunteered at a Physicians Around the World clinic. They shared everything and were passionately in love until Violet left in the middle of the night. The reason she left? Her mother, Lizza, lied to her and told her Desiree needed her. Neither Andre nor Violet has forgotten what they shared.

Andre arrives to Desiree’s wedding as Lizza’s date and this sets the stage for a fabulous, passionate story for Violet and Andre. I loved that Andre accepted Violet and acknowledged her creative side and the tender, emotional side to her personality.

Loved this passage:
'It was the understated strength and confidence he resonated that had drawn her in. His ability to soothe or tale control with a single glance, a single sentence. When they’d met he was a busy physician with no time for bullshit-Trust me or trust. There is no other option.'

This book has all the feels—it’s emotional, passionate and heartbreaking. Violet and Andre’s story captivated me from the first few pages. Andre is Violet’s true north and their journey home is a excellent read.

This one took me a while to get into. I was probably about half way through and still not feeling that I was really into it, so I put it down for a couple of weeks. When I picked it back up, I finished the rest of the book in one sitting.

It seemed to take quite a while to get going for me. Also I would keep trying to place everyones names because there are so many characters in the worlds that Melissa Foster has created, and whilst they can be read as standalones, I've read so many different ones all over the place, it makes me lose my concentration sometimes trying to place who belongs where.

I didn't mind either of the main characters in this, but in saying that, I didn't really connect with them either. There were so many characters in this book, with all the secondary characters, that there was plenty going.

A bit more angst in this one than in some of Melissa's other books, but nothing over the top either. not my favourite book of hers, but I still look forward to reading more, and learning more about some of the other characters in this one.

From the first moment I read her work, I became a fan of Melissa Foster’s novels. Her stories of family, love and friendship always leave a lasting impression. Once again, she delivers a gripping and emotional tale about love, family and friendship.

I first met Violet in Bayside Desires and since then I wanted to learn more about her. Secretive and complex in nature, I could not wait to peel away her layers and learnt what made her tick.

Violet has no filter. She says what she feels and makes no apologies. However, behind the feisty exterior lay a heart which had the capacity to love beyond measure. The thing is, few people has seen this side of her. Prickly in nature she allows no one to get close to her, until her sister, whom she never had much of a relationship with, and her crazy friends wormed their way into her heart without her even realising it. Only one other person had accomplished this, but her fears got in the way and she made a decision that would change both their lives. Fate however has a way of stepping in and shaking everything up as Violet would discover when her past collided with her present.

Andre spent three years trying to get over the woman who turned his life inside out, then up, and left him with no warning. All attempts failed, not even his new venture as it reminded him of her. Therefore, an offer from a free spirited woman to spend time in the Cape seems like the perfect solution. Then he came face to face with Violet and all the emotions he thought were buried came bubbling to the surface.

I loved both Violet and Andre. Andre is such a sweet person. Despite being hurt before he is still willing fight for Violet and their love. He saw beyond her tough facade. He knew all her issues, but loved her in spite of them.

My heart went out to Violet. I could not imagine having the life she had has a child. The lack of stability, afraid to get close to anyone, knowing she will not be staying in one place too long.

I loved how Violet found her own and opened herself to family, love and friendship. There is a side to her she did not share with her sister and newfound friends. They saw her as a trash talking biker chick, but there was more to her. She was selfless, artistic and sweet, traits only Andre were privy to.

I could not help but root for them and I hoped they would both get it right the second time around.

Conclusion/Recommendation
Bayside Escape is an emotional story about second chances and coming to terms with the pain of your past. It is about forgiveness, letting go of the pain and hurt and opening up yourself to love. I recommend this latest offering from Ms. Foster to fans of contemporary romance.

I know, I know I start off each of my reviews for a Melissa Foster book saying what a fan I am but I seriously am a huge fan. I have enjoyed each of her books I have read and have eagerly awaited reading a few as well, Violets story is one of those books. I have been in love with the badass Violet since we met her and I couldn't wait to get my hands on her book to find out what made her tick, I knew there had to be a story that would pull at my heart strings and boy oh boy was there!

Violet didn't have a "normal" childhood at a young and impressionable age she was taken away from the only father she ever knew and her sister and she traveled from place to place with her mother for years the only semblance in her life was the summers where she was able to spend time at her grandmothers with her sister on the cape. Unfortunately this didn't make Desire and Violet's relationship stronger it only kept the wedge there and in a way made it deeper. I this book we find out EVERYTHING that Violet had been through as a child, teenager, and even now as an adult. And we finally get the story about the man she broke up with...and WOW that was something!

I LOVED Andre! The man was totally in LOVE with Violet and wasn't afraid to show it. He was patient when he needed to be but he knew when to push as well. They were great together.

This has been my absolute FAVORITE book of not only the series but of Melissa Fosters books that I have read to date. I may have said that before but I honestly don't think I will be saying that again for a while because this story was just that good!!! If you enjoy a good second chance romance that is filled with love and sexy times I highly recommend reading this book. Each book in the Bayside Summers Series can be read as a standalone but I think once you meet everyone you'll want to read each of their stories. Happy Reading!!!

Bayside Escape (Bayside Summers Book 4) by Melissa Foster

The appeal of Violet is that she holds nothing back. Her boundless energy, fiesty spirit and smart mouth are how she copes with a broken heart. Why is it that the people that exude such strength on the outside tend to be covering up the bruises they carry on the inside? Andre and Violet are a wound that never had the chance to heal. Their relationship is messy, endless and in need of more than a bandage. The wounds cut deep. The pain has a life of it's own. For Andre, Violet is the one who walked away and left him with a broken heart. For Violet, Andre is the man who has the power to break more than her heart. Bayside Escape takes a mess and turns it into something beautiful. Unforgettable is too tame a word to describe this couple. Soul - stirring is more accurate.

Audiobook Review: Bayside Escape (Bayside Summers Book 4) by Melissa Foster (Author), Devra Woodward (Narrator), Aiden Snow (Narrator)

In the past I've had the pleasure of reading Bayside Escape. Violet and Andre are my favorite couple. For me that's something special, because I never forget a character or the way my heart feels when I meet them for the first time. This couple is hard to forget, no matter how many times you revisit their journey. Emotion bleeds off the page and takes root in your soul. Foster continues to outdo herself, each story she writes is better than the one before. Woodward and Snow turn haunting to magical. No one does unforgettable, like Foster.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
4.5 stars
This is the forth book in the series and should be read in order so you don't miss anything with this group of friends. This is Violet and Andre's story and I think it might be my favorite so far.
Violet is Desiree's sister and she is kinda standoffish, she takes off and doesn't tell anyone where she is going. Keeps things to herself, doesn't dress like a girlie girl and rides a bike. So when their mother Lizza shows up at Desiree and Rick's wedding with a much younger man, Violet can't believe her eyes.
The only man she ever loved and the one she left behind. With her emotions all over the place, she doesn't want to let her friends know that their is a past with her and Andre. But the air sizzles between them.
Andre has tried for years to forget his one true love, but nothing has worked. So taking a trip with the carefree woman he met to the Cape, might help. But when he sees her daughter, it turns out to be Violet, the women in his heart. Andre wants to rekindle the relationship with Violet but he knows he can't rush things because she might run again. He is hurt when he learns she has been at the Cape for the last three years, putting down roots without him.
Can Violet and Andre make a relationship work a second time around? Will she be able to explain why she left in the first place? What will happen when she tells Desiree about her other life and what she has been doing? Will she be able to let her two worlds collide? Will Andre be able to leave without her if that is what she chooses?
This story was great and the pain and heartache Violet felt seemed to come right off my kindle. I just wanted to hug her and tell her to trust her love for Andre and go for it.
Melissa Foster has a way of telling a story that will bring right in with this group of friends as if you are there with them. You will laugh and cry with them and in the end I hope you love this story as much as I did.

Hands down this is my favorite Bayside couple by far, and I have loved them all, but Violet and Andre hit bullseye with all the feels. I loved every minute of their story.

Their powerful feelings instantly begin to stir deep inside as they are unexpectedly reunited at Desiree and Rick's wedding. Andre's pain and sense of loss since losing Violet previously is really quite overwhelming. Both confused on how things ended before, their infectious feelings for each other go from pain and built up tension to the deepest longing that simply oozes of the pages in to your heart, so clear, so emotional.

Violet has so many walls surrounding her from years of feeling hurt, unloved, and abandoned that she copes by putting up a hard exterior and comes out with some awesome wise cracks to cover how she really feels deep down. She's a girl who speaks her mind with no second thoughts, tact and diplomacy go right out of the window. I liked Vi before but I came to love her so much after this.

Andre is heaven sent, he gently and lovingly chips away at her battle amour with love and encouragement to allow her softer, vulnerable side to appear here and there. With patience, which Andre will have, there's no doubt in my mind that theirs is a beautiful love waiting to grow stronger day by day. They know each other so well, they have a beautiful understanding of each others wants, strength and weaknesses and how to bring the best out of each other.

Gaining a better understanding of Lizza's ways was another plus point, even though alien to most people, I could see how her thought pattern worked and how she could perceive her actions as good intentions.

Emotional in parts, fun in others, this was such an uplifting and enjoyable read, when I finished I was left with a full heart and a smile on my face.

I have been waiting to get to know the real Violet and what was under all the badass and sass since she was introduced. I always new there was more to her and I was not disappointed.

Violet hides the real story of what she has been through and the heartbreak under a tough exterior that is hard to crack but underneath there is a beautiful soul who loves with her whole heart, a heart she will protect at all cost. However at her sisters wedding a blast from her past has her in turmoil, Andre was the one she let get away as she was scared of her heart being broken again.

Although Andre and Violet never stopped loving each other for Andre, Violet left and that broke him He doesn't want to lose her again but also treads carefully, he is patient as he worried his 'Daisy' will run again and he won't be able to handle it.

I know I keep saying this in all my reviews but one of the main reasons I love Melissa's books is she deals with issues that are not what you would normally read in a HEA but this makes her books real. The emotions that filter from each word, sentence and page really touch you and that is something not all authors can achieve.

A brilliant book for me is one that leaves me thinking about what I have read and how I am feeling long after I turn the last page and Melissa achieves this with ease.

Melissa's books are the ones I know I will read for the rest of my life, highly recommended.

chemistry, secrets, tears, chocies

Overall 5 out of 5 stars
Performance 4 out of 5 stars
Story 5 out of 5 stars

The chemistry between Violet and Andre keeps you in the story. How could he be with her and show up to a wedding with her mother? The journey back to a second chance with the one that got away will make you a believer that true love exist out there somewhere. These two had that chance to cement their romance over time, space, and a foreign country. Something had her run and left him heart broken. Just because she ran did not mean she was not invested in the romance they had.

Love. True love can span time. It can keep your heart true and open all at the same time. Its the kind of love that you want to help you through the hard times of life. It helps you keep your eyes on the prize. Clearing up old hurts and opening up the door to more was just what Andre and Violet (Daisy) needed to have the second chance at making their love so much more than the first time allowed.

Violet finds exactly what she has wanted all her life but once thing changes the course of her life and the direction of her future. Andre was not looking for a love to turn his world around but he found that with Violet. Torn apart by circumstance they both find a chance to reunited and make that love of theirs burn.

Sweet Escape was sweet, endearing, touching. There were tears all around. There were truths discovered. Secrets were shared. Family was more than just blood. Friendships expanded. Melissa Foster knows how to open up a story and invite you to meet new characters and want to know more about them. I look forward to meeting all the new faces (Wicked brothers) meet this time around.

Narration by Devra Woodward and Aiden Snow was spot on. Aiden always brings the goods and make the males sound hot and sexy while still keeping the characters clear. Devra brought me clear and concise female voices and gave a distinction to the males. Hold on tight this one will have you needing some tissue and someone to hug.

I have been dying to read Violet’s story from the moment we first met her in Bayside Desires. She is one feisty, strong woman who keeps her cards close to her chest, and I always knew there was a side to her she wasn’t showing her family and friends.

Violet Vancroft is not only feisty but she also has a heart of gold hidden underneath that tough exterior that she hides behind. We also knew that she had loved and lost but she never really spoke about it too Desiree since moving to Bayside. But Violet’s world is turned upside down when her estranged mother Leeza walks in with Andre, her ex she left two years ago in Ghana!

It seems to be a shock for both Violet and Andre meeting again after so long and Violet is angry to say the least that her mother is with him. But it turns out Leeza’s carefree breezy spiritual attitude has brought Andre to Bayside with her for the sole purpose of fate to intervene. I hated Leeza when we first met her and I still dislike her, she is too flighty waltzing in and out of the girls lives, but that's an whole other story!

I love second chances, and Violet & Andres story was heartfelt, when you learn of her reasons for running all those years ago. There love is strong, passionate and hot as hell.

I really enjoyed this book! It was a nice second chance romance story and I really loved seeing the connection Between Andre and Violet blossom. This was the first book I’ve read in this series and although they are able to be read as a stand-alone, I really want to read the others so I can get to know and understand all of the characters on a deeper level. This was a really enjoyable read, I loved it!

‘Bayside Escape’ is the fourth book of the Bayside Summer series, and the long-anticipated story of ‘Violet Vancroft’.

For those of you who are die-hard fans of the Bayside Series like myself, I am sure you were all eagerly awaiting the book that would unravel her as a character just like I was.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review, and I can honestly say that I adore Violet and Andre’s romance. This book had me laughing at Violet’s snarky sass one moment but then crying at her soft vulnerability the next, a softer side which has been shaped by the trials of her past.

Violet is badass and is confident and not afraid to express herself to those around her, or so we thought, and as a reader, you learn quickly of her double life and the secrets that she has kept hidden in a desperate attempt to escape pain and heartache. But when Andre unexpectedly turns up unannounced at her sister’s wedding, she is unable to hide that he had been the one she’s tried to run from.

This book is all the things I wanted from a romance, it is hot, sexy and Andre is the sweetest most adoring book boyfriend to date. He knows the ‘real Violet’, and instead of allowing her to remain hidden, he very much encourages her to come out of her shell and be honest to those around her who loving have opened themselves up to her.

Together Andre and Violet are the epitomai of ‘Love is patient’ and that the ‘heart wants what it wants’, and like all Melissa Foster’s heroes and heroines, they are uniquely relatable. Topics such as abandonment and dyslexia are discussed within this book, and I truly believe that Foster puts a voice to all the suffering that goes on in the everyday lives of her readers. She knows how to depict heartache and pain, whilst conjuring a raw passion that you can help but want more of. But the way which she describes love is what makes her books addictive and makes you want more.

This is a perfect read for romance lovers. It can be read as a stand-alone or as part of a series. I would recommend to anyone wanting to get completely engrossed in a new author or a compelling story.

Bayside Escape by Melissa Foster is book Four in the Bayside Summer Series. This is the story of Violet Vancroft and Andre Shaw. This can be a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Violet and Andre were once hot and heavy into each other until Violet slipped away. Violet didn't really know what she wanted it thought until she made contact again with her sister. Andre feeling the loss of her tried to move on with his live and his career. Then an unexpected meeting between the two set sparks flying again...but can they move past their first encounter to make this one their last? Such a fan of Ms. Foster writing. I can never recommend her books enough...Loved them.

This is the story of Violet and Andre. Violet had lead a nomadic life thanks to her mother. Because of this she was scared of commitment. So when she met and fell in love with Andre she was terrified of getting hurt. That’s when she left him behind. Since leaving Andre she has put down roots with her sister.
She has never forgotten Andre and knows he’s the love of her life. She was floored when at her sister’s wedding Andre arrived. She was flooded with emotions, so was he. Will Violet give into love? Will Andre forgive Violet for walking out on him and breaking his heart? You’re going to have to read this book to find out.
What I will say is that I couldn’t put this book down. If you (like me) enjoy romance books that are hot and steamy, this one won’t dissapoint. I also love how Melissa Foster makes her stories believable and interesting. I have truly enjoyed all of her books. I can’t wait to read her next one!

Bayside Escapes is full of amusement, romance, and friendships. All the characters in this story help bring this book to life and make it a fun read.

Violet seems like a strong woman who is not afraid to say what is on her mind. Violet's lack of filter is my favorite thing about her. Violet is far more than she seems. She has a huge heart, but she keeps it guarded.

Andre is determined, a leader, and caring. Falling in love before made him rethink his life and what he wanted to do with his career. He seems like a natural people-person and wants to do good.

I wish the story would have reflected or had flashbacks of when Violet and Andre first met. With Violet's personality, I'm sure it would have been very entertaining.

I really enjoyed getting to know a few new characters in the Bayside community. I really hope Justin gets his own story.

I received this story as an Advance Reader's Copy. I volunteered to leave my review. All opinions are my own.

WOW! This book was a fantastic read...it has all the feels.
I have always thought that there was more to Violet, and that behind the brashness and cussing was a kindhearted person who just wanted to be loved. This story is captivating. Violet and her man will leave you swooning. Plus we have all the usual gang at Bayside, the 'sexy' breakfasts, and Lizzy makes a reappearance. A right romping good read. Loved it!

Violet and Andre prove to us that different can often mean difficult; but not impossible. Violet's free spirit and Andre's strong roots are a combination that most would think couldn't work -- yet with time, the lines blur and we see how deep the two intertwine with another. Our hearts ache at how Violet could up and leave Andre; but as we dive into her life, it's easy to understand why she left. Andre takes what little he has left of Violet and seeks her free spirit by traveling the world, pursuing his passions. Fast forward and the couple finds themselves sitting on opposite sides of the table. Violet is settled and Andre has developed a love for picking up to move as he pleases. It would be easy to see how he'd be drawn to leaving her in the same fashion, but when there is heat, that's hard to run from. And goodness -- there is heat! Melissa hits all those right places with her romantic encounters between this pair. I know I flushed and felt my heart flutter, causing me to gasp a few times! Violet's strong, hidden side acted as her protection but I loved how she expressed her self outwardly - you can't help to love her! Andre made me cautious -- too cautious -- but it opened up a view I'd never seen before. He was more closed off than Violet, in my opinion. By the end of the book, my heart was consumed by the love between the pair. Normally I add the male character to my 'book boyfriend' list but this time, I have a girl crush on Violet!

I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

Oh. My. Lanta. This read was ah-mazing!

Violet – hard headed, stubborn, tough as nails, mouthy, dark Violet. Who knew there was an entirely different side to her!?

I feel like my personality is quite similar to Vi’s dark personality so I loved being able to read her story.

I don’t remember reading anything about Andre or Vi’s love or Vi’s anything previously (I have read a lot of Melissa books so who knows!) but it was great to read about that romance and see Andre re-appear.

I love that Andre was able to challenge Vi and break down her walls so that not only us as a reader saw another side, but even her sister and friends saw another side.

Everything about Vi is a bumpy road and I loved getting to know some of the other characters that we have briefly met before! (I feel like I need a big ol’ family tree to put all the characters on because someone is always related to someone!)

I love, love, loved this book! (Let’s be real, I love all Melissa books!)

This was a fabulous read that took me 2 days to read and if you love a good romance; you will love any and all romance stories by Melissa and will thoroughly enjoy this one too!

I love romance books and Melissa Foster is one of my absolute favorite writers. I have been following the Bayside characters for a while now and love each and every one of them. I couldn’t wait until Violet’s story came out and now that it is I loved reading it and seeing her get tamed, well as tame as she can be.

Violet and Andre story was amazing and so sweet yet not too sweet because if you’ve met Vi in the other stories you know she’s not into that mushy love stuff. Vi is a hard one to crack but giving the life she had and the thoughts she grew up thinking it’s no wonder it took a special, over loving, persistent guy to break her and get her to show the soft sweet girl inside.

Andre is one who follows his heart and speaks with his heart which is not something Vi is used too which terrifies her and she runs but not before actually showing him her soft sweet loving inside and leaving a piece of her heart behind. He spent years finding her again and he is not about to let her run again.

I just love the story and can’t wait to read more of the next ones. I definitely recommend you check this book out! You will be glad you did.

Oh my word, this book is so hot! I've been waiting for more of Violet's story for some time, and the fact that she is reconnecting with Andre, her one love, made this an amazing story!

Violet and Andre came together with a huge passion which quickly developed into love, but their lives were so different that Violet was determined that they couldn't make it work. So she ran. In the middle of the night. No forwarding address, nowhere for Andre to even start to look for her. And she moved on with her life, keeping parts of herself in separate little boxes so that no one knew the real her.

When Lizza returns for a wedding and brings Andre as a date, their relationship is back in the forefront, and Violet feels that she has no choice but to run. But now she's put down roots and loves where she is.

Can they get past their old problems in order to contend with the new ones? Can they work through how different their lives are?

This was such a fun read, and I absolutely loved hearing more about so many of the Bayside crew! I can't wait for more of their books.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Bayside Desires (Bayside Summers #1)
Bayside Passions (Bayside Summers, #2)
Bayside Heat (Bayside Summers #3)

This is Violet and Andre’s story. Violet left Andre two years ago when she didn’t think they would ever work. Now they cross paths again while he is traveling. The love and passion is still there but can they try again but this time make it work? Or is this a final goodbye before he has to leave for the next place he is needed? Can they figure out a way to be together or will all the pats hurts resurface and make them believe that they just can’t be together? Will the fight for a chance at a future together or give up and walk away?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

Violet is a rough tough female who has had a gypsy like existance due to the fact that her Mom was always on the move. Violet was afraid of commitment so when she actually fell for a guy she ran--. Her Mom pulled a fast one which got both Violet and her sister together--but Violet still had a life none of her friends knew about.

Then the man of Violets dreams showed up with her Mom for her sister's wedding with the guy she had run from all those years ago--Fiasco-as you can well imagine! Then her Mom took off leaving the guy behind---Would these two ever learn to trust each other again? Could Violet learn to trust her new friends and let them in on all she did that they had no knowledge of?

This novel is fast and furious with a lot of soul searching and a bit of comedy--much like life itself.

Bayside Escape (Bayside Summers #4) by Melissa Foster

M/F Second Chance Romance
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

This is the fourth book in this series and while they can be read as a standalone, I highly suggest that you read them in order, as several characters makes repeat appearances. Also, it will help you understand Violet on a deeper level.

Violet is the snarky, tells it as it is, sometimes inappropriate friend that everyone loves. Despite her upbringing, Violet's heart is pure and so giving. I loved this book because you were able to see a side of Violet that you normally don't get to see. She had so much going on and despite knowing that she now had a place called home, real friends and an amazing relationship with her sister, Violet still compartmentalized her life. Still reeling from a broken heart, she knows that by finding a group of people who don't know about her crazy history is comforting.

Andre is almost ready to try and get over his "Daisy". When he agrees to go to the coast with a friend, what he doesn't expect is to see Violet, in the flesh. He's thrown for a loop and his reaction is less than stellar. However, he has never stopped loving and missing "Daisy" and when we learn exactly who Daisy is to him, everything falls in to place. Despite his feeling like Violet left him without warning, he tries to understand the situation from her perspective. He still loves her without reservation and because of that love, he realizes what their lives and their love could become.

I loved watching these two reconnect. It was real and heartbreaking, but it also gave the book a lot of hope. I really enjoyed watching their worlds come together and to see the softer side of Violet. I think that all of the characters were really well developed and it was great to see Violet and her sister connect on a different level too. I do wish that we were given more of a story on their mom. It seems like she's there and gone and all she does is make things worse. I want them to really get down and dig in with their mom one of these books, because it seems like they would benefit from it.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the fourth book in the series - I would definitely recommend that you read them in order, as this one pulls together many previous strands ... and finally gives us the insight into Violet's past as well as great hope for her future! I am assuming that you are up to date in my review.

Desiree and Violet's mother Lizza makes an appearance at Desiree's wedding and brings a most unexpected guest, Violet's one true love, Andre. As we learn why she left him, how he has changed, and that maybe, Lizza was interfering for all the right reasons, the most lovely romance unfolds. And Violet too, much like a flower, unfurls, and allows herself to believe that she will not be abandoned, and can share her life with all her friends.

I loved how she immediately recognised that Andre should share in all her worlds, and finally became confident enough to see how much she mattered to others. There were some really intense moments when she came clean to her friends and she definitely needed Andre, and her buddy Justin to lend her support.

Another totally wonderful, and engrossing read, thank you Melissa Foster for never letting me down!

Bayside Escape by Melissa Foster

Dr. Andre Shaw had no idea that taking a break to decompress and going to a wedding with a woman he knew and worked with would provide him with the opportunity to find out why Violet Vancroft left him without an explanation two years before. They got off to a bit of a rough start their second time around but once the air was cleared and they realized they were still in love with one another there was an easy romance to read and enjoy. The two are perfect together and provided me with a great evening of entertainment. I am curious to find out who Justin will end up with as well as wondering about a few other people mentioned in this book.

Did I enjoy the story? Definitely!
Will I read more books by this author? Without a doubt

Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Bayside Escape is book four of the Bayside Summers series of contemporary romances. This is a stand alone story, but to get the most from the series I suggest reading them in order as characters from the previous books all appear here.

This is the story of Violet and Andre and their second chance at love. The pair met abroad two years ago, but broke up when Violet was called back to the States. They meet once more at Desiree's wedding (Violet's sister).

I've looked forward to Violet's story, her tough, take no prisoners manner needed a man who could tame her. I hadn't expected Andre's story at all. I liked the connection to Brindle Montgomery and the Whiskey families that we meet in other books.

Violet has always been one of my favorite characters. She just has so much going on for herself. She may not see it but she definitely has it all together.

I've been waiting to read Violet's story. I was unsure if the man she left behind would play a part in her story or not but I love that Melissa Foster brought Andre back into Violet's life. Bayside Escape definitely kept me on my toes as I followed the life Violet had built for herself in the states. I was torn, at times, that Violet would find Andre again only for him to leave.

Pick up a copy of Bayside Escape to see what ends up happening with Violet and Andre. You will not feel let down. I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

I listened to the audio version of this book.
Ms. Foster just keeps writing better and better books. I love the greater background and greater depth to these characters. This is a second chance trope story of Violet and Andre.
What is the worst thing that could happen involving a guy you loved and left behind. Maybe having him show up at your sister's wedding as your mother's date? Yeah, it doesn't get too much worse than that. It does make it even a tad bit worse if you're not crazy about your mother to start with.
I really enjoyed listening to this book. I loved the relationship that rekindled between Violet and Andre and being the audience to how they came to trust each other again. Love is in the air!
I was given a complimentary copy of this audiobook. All thoughts are my own.
