Coastal Adventure #2

Betrayed Devil

Traffickers work faster than lightning.
Chuck McGregor's vengeance comes even faster.

Former soldier Chuck McGregor doesn't see himself as a vigilante. He just sees people in need of help, and a system that moves too slow to help them. And, after a girl is killed, Chuck - with the assistance of some fellow veterans - sets out to punish the criminal syndicate responsible. Totally off the books and off the record.

But law enforcement views Chuck's group of soldiers as little more than a band of dangerous renegades that must be contained at all costs. Which means the government might be an even bigger threat to Chuck than the criminals who want his head...

Betrayed Devil (Coastal Adventure #2) - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Chuck McGregor's ex-Army, now P.I and a police consultant, in Tom Haase's exciting, all-action thriller Betrayed Devil, [which is book 2 in his great Coastal Adventure series] and he's using the large trust-fund inheritance (from his late father), to live a more relaxed lifestyle with his fiancee Darlene, at his luxury modern warehouse-conversion home and sailing on his yacht and planning their HEA together.
What caused a boat to crash into Chuck's home and explode?
Who is furious at the loss of a valuable item? Where does this item turn up - and who finds it?
When does the finder plan to turn it over to police? Who is Eddie?
Why does Eddie get involved with Ramon and the Tsarina? How did he know Ramon years before?
What position does Eddie get promoted to? How does Darlene die unexpectedly - how does Chuck react?

The damage caused by drug-smuggling and police corruption and the huge battle facing those who enforce the fight against them, is very relevant to our modern world, where the vast rewards often overcome any respect for the law by the perpetrators. Others' lives are far less important to them than their own profit and showy life-style.
Tom Haase tells a remarkably vivid story of one man's fight to revenge and honour the memory of the woman he will always love, (even in death) and to bring the guilty to justice, whatever the personal cost. Buy your copy today - it's a thrill you must experience!

Just started this new series, of what I hope to be a long running series, by Tom Haase. Fast short, to the point. He shows his ex military life and what shows to be a great guy. The type of person who you wnat to live next door.
Haase has him set in a warehouse in Savannah Georgia on the Savannah river. I can just picture the layout and the greatness of this young man's home. And of course, this is due to Tom Haase great descrioptions. I do want to live there when they make the movie. Perhaps a wacky Canadian expat who is more than just a little long in the tooth( yes young people it means old! ) who has a bag of bad jokes, great insight into people, more connections that the Bell telephone phone exchange! And cooks, reads and has great taste in older ladies. (Well, I think the idea would fly and certainly add to any book I was in I mean this Canadain was in)
POINT OF TRANSPARENCY: I was given access to this book on an ARC basis. I am attaching my opinion with out promise of further benefit or gain.

This is the second is this series. I really loved the first one. Like the writing style of the author; book moves fast like reading a Patterson or Kellerman book for me.

This one reminds me of the movies: the first one is great , the second one is okay and then the third one is great again. I think that is what will happen here. Which is why I gave it only four stars.

I personally have my own vision of where I can see this character going and some of that shows up in this book with the offer by the AG. etc. , but not quite what I was anticipating. Hey, not my character who is telling me what they want, lol, anyway.

I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest and freely given review.

Another very fast paced, well plotted action thriller by Tom Haase. His latest figure is Chuck McGregor. Newly minted millionaire and ex military this guys got moves to go with his brain! Mr. Haase always has a twisted type of plot and puts in some really good upsets. Just when you know what is goiing to happen, nope, wrong guess, wrong turn.
Like his writing and style. these short stoies go by far too fast but do refresh you.

I will advise here that I am an advanced reader for Tom Haase and have not been promised a pile of gold for my review. These are my opinions.

Chuck McGregor returns in Tom Haase's exciting, all-action thriller Betrayed Devil, [which is book 2 in his great Coastal Adventure series]. Using his inheritance and his military skills Chuck and his Seminole and Cuban friends once again unite to help thwart the rise of a drug ring in his home town. Not as vibrant as his first novel it still packs a punch. Can’t wait for the next installment.

Excellent read

Book 1 in this series was good but, a lot seemed to have been taken from the Donovan series of books.

This book however firmed up the characters and gave them a workable and fast moving story to get their teeth into.

Well done that man, I am very much looking forward to book 3.
