They forced her into witness protection, not to protect her, but to shut her up. After testifying in a high-profile case, Gemma Saint, a young intern at an influential media outlet, is forced into WITSEC by corrupt DOJ officials to silence her. When Gemma’s testimony at a retrial threatens their elaborate conspiracy to control the upcoming presidential election. Gemma learns from her WITSEC Inspector her identity was compromised and someone in the DOJ has sent a team to kill her. After her Inspector is shot, Gemma sees only one chance to survive and resume her old life—expose the conspiracy, completely. She seeks help from Lex James, a young investigative journalist. Gemma offers him the biggest story of his career. But Lex was recently given custody of his deceased sister’s four-year-old, twins, Josh and Caleb. Sparks fly when Lex and Gemma meet, and the boys see their mother in her. But can she endanger this fragile family? Can she run away, sacrificing her life and the course of her beloved country? Lex has difficult choices, too. But the highly gifted boys, Josh and Caleb, have their own opinion about what should happen. Set in the beautiful Central Oregon desert near Lake Billy Chinook and Crooked River Ranch, No True Justice is clean, high-action romantic suspense at its best. A story with chills, thrills, love, and laughter.
H L Wegley's stories are always Christian and always inspirational, with a climate of suspense and a forecast of stormy weather. What else would you expect from a Meteorologist?
He published a high-action, romantic suspense, 4-book series through Pelican Book Group. The stories include cyber -espionage, human trafficking, and cyber terrorism, all written to CBA standards.
His award-winning, 3-book, political thriller series, with romance (also CBA-compliant), released across the year 2016. Book 1, Voice in the Wilderness, Gold Medal winner in Readers' Favorite awards, is currently on Amazon with numerous reviews. Book 2, Voice of Freedom, Silver Medal winner in Readers' Favorite awards, released in late May 2016, and Book 3, Chasing Freedom (The Prequel), released in October 2016.
In addition to his scientific publications, H. L. Wegley has published 2 non-fiction books, including his Boomer book, Colby and Me: Growing up in the '50s.
In the USAF H. L. Wegley served as an Intelligence Analyst, working closely with NSA and, after obtaining a degree in Meteorology, served as a Weather Officer. Upon leaving the military, he worked as a forecaster and a Research Scientist in Atmospheric Physics, where he published scientific articles, reports, and books. After earning an MS in Computer Science, he worked more than two decades developing large-scale computing systems for Boeing before retiring in the Seattle where he resides with his wife and where he writes. He is currently finishing his 12th manuscript.
This is the first book I've read of H G Wegley's and I have already downloaded, oh say, four more? In No True Justice, he weaves intrigue (could be from the headlines) and romance for Gemme and Lex. Faith is evident in their lives, but not preachy. The sparks are quick and one of my favorite lines ... 'don't tell my accountability group!' left me giggling, there was no sex, but just an uncomfortable situation in the midst of all the danger, poor Gemme had a moment of angst. The twins are fantastic. A quick paced read and the action starts out the door.
I loved Georgia/Gemma and Lex. Their relationship was sweet and believable for how fast time went for them. I adored the twins. Precocious, mischievous, and hilarious.
The beginning was a little slow and I also found a few word errors and strange pieces of dialogue that didn't fit. But once I got past the first couple chapters the action was awesome and I cringed every time I had to put the book down in the middle of such breathtaking action. The ending concluded everything very well (no nefarious fibbies left free). I loved No True Justice and I can't wait to see this awesome series continue.
After testifying in a high-profile case, Gemma Saint, a young intern at an influential media outlet, is forced into WITSEC by corrupt DOJ officials to silence her.
I do so enjoy H. L. Wegley’s books. He is the best at writing political suspense with romance between the leading characters of course. If the FBI, backed by the DOJ, is trying to find you and kill you so you cannot testify against them how can you escape? This is just what Gemma, along with Lex is trying to figure out. The action will keep you on the edge of your seat. I like that K. C. Daniels from Voice In The Wilderness, appears in a supporting role. I also like that woven throughout is Gemma and Lex’s dependance on God to help them. And does He ever show up! Sometimes it is with the help of precocious 4 year old twins that will keep you laughing at their antics. Don’t miss out on this book, it is a winner. This book was given to me by the author with absolutely no requirement for a review. All views stated are my very own.
First, a few positive words. The plot was interesting, there were some precocious kids to add an element of humor, and the overall concept of the story was solid. The theme of the book can be summarized by this line: “When overconfident people’s arrogance causes them to underestimate others, incredible things can happen.”
There were some pretty big problems with the story. For example, there was a rattlesnake which could be heard from a thousand yards away, with a rushing river nearby. When the bad guys blow something up in a public place, what follows is totally implausible--a sheriff hangs around for a while, but there’s no huge search for bodies or ATF agents searching for days to grab every scrap of evidence. On many occasions, characters who presumably had access to a wide selection of weapons chose weapons which weren’t appropriate for what they were trying to accomplish.
The romantic element moved immediately into the characters expressing their hopes for marriage, leaving precious little room for the uncertainties, tensions, aspirations, and twists which make up a successful romance. Later in the story, there were attempts to insert some of those elements, but they fell flat because the big questions had already been answered.
The writing was mostly okay, but there were enough typos and other errors to be distracting. The conversations were never quite believable, and never quite fell into a natural rhythm.
Most of the problems could have been fixed with some more thought and some good advice. I wish I could recommend this book, but your reading time is better spent elsewhere. I'll probably read the third book in the series before deciding if I'm a Wegley fan or not.
Deb’s Dozen: Witness Protection Fails—She’s on the Run—Unlikely Candidates to Her Rescue.
High-action romantic suspense is a hallmark of No True Justice. Gemma Saint has been in the Witness Protection Program (WITSEC) since testifying in a high-profile case. One day, she suddenly gets a call from her handler telling her to run—her cover’s been blown. Confused, she starts questioning him, then hears a gunshot—and no other sounds.
Gemma, told a team sent by a corrupt official in the Department of Justice (DOJ) is after her to eliminate her, decides the only way to survive is to completely expose the corruption. She goes to a young journalist she’s heard writes the kinds of stories she needs told, Lex James.
But Lex just got custody of his sister’s four-year-old twins and doesn’t want to expose them to danger. Problem number two—the twins decide they’d like Gemma for their mom. With Gemma and Lex attracted to each other and danger lurking around every bend, determining the best course of action is a priority.
The thrill starts there, and Wegley takes you on such a ride you won’t want to put down the book until the end. I love that his writing is so well researched and his characters so realistic. You’ll love Gemma, admire Lex, and absolutely adore the twins, Caleb and Josh. No True Justice earns Five Stars!
H. L. Wegley has a varied background. He served in the Air Force as an Intelligence Analyst and also as a Weather Officer. As a civilian, he worked as a research scientist, then developed Boeing computing systems before he and his wife retired near Seattle. His tagline is “Always a climate of suspense and a forecast of stormy weather.”
H. L. Wegley gave me a copy of No True Justice, but I was in no way obligated to write a review.
A must read “unputdownable”!~! A great book to curl up with on an all day rain. Read the entire 245 pages just under 12 hours today. The book had me engrossed, captivated and very interested from the beginning (which is not easy to do until usually a little into books) Every chapter offers compelling, riveting and a very believable story laying out corruption. It was just the right combination of everything that the story is made of. Too add much sweetness and happy tones, the beautiful love story and the quaint lil family they become slowly and generously intertwines with the heroic suitability and great aptitude characteristics of each of the genuine “stars.” The picturesque stars are Lex an endearing gentleman; Gemma Saint, very much a young lady and “good girl” (love her whole name very perfect & fitting); the genius remarkable 4 yrs twins, Josh & Caleb, and let’s not forget our “war/warrior veterans” Wonderwoman KC and WITSEC Inspector Deputy U.S. Marshal CC. The brilliancy of the 4 year genius twins pulled on my heart strings, as if they were my own. I wholeheartedly embraced the reliance and assurance of the Christian fortitude that gently whispers in the storyline as well. Looking forward to other blazing and accomplished writings from this author.
From the begining of this story, we feel the plight of Georgia, no one can imagine, how she feels. She knows, as Gemma, life was satisfying, filled with excitement,, a master’s degree in journalism. WITSEC .US Marshall. Cody sends her a text, an alert, but he used her real name, that was odd. Only person to go to was Lex James, a journalist, when she tells him FBI killed Cody, and now after her. Will the faith that Lex and Gemma have, be the connection to help her, and tell her story. Lex vows that he was in, and would not desert her, and needing to let her know. His hand covered hers, so she would know she was not alone. The beauty of those words to her, after being alone for eight months, isolated and with fear. Two months, to bring justice about, with a surprise ending, Josh and Caleb the twins were an added bonus. How does one sum it up, but to say, you will find this to be a treasure worth reading. I loved the first book, and this was just as gripping of a story, wondering how it would end. It felt real, the action you were part of. Looking forward to the next one. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
When I pick up a book by H.L. Wegley, I have a difficult time putting it down in order to get other things done. The excitement, suspense, action, entertainment, romance, and so much more keep me reading even when I have other responsibilities. I enjoy reading of the faith in action of his lead characters. The twin four-year-old boys in this story really kept things hopping. A favorite line was one in which Gemma tells the three Fibbies, her name for crooked FBI agents, that the IQ of the two young boys was higher than the combined IQ of her and the agents. Considering some of the dumb moves of the three agents, I think maybe the IQ of one boy was higher than their combined IQ. If I was ever in the custody of dishonest lawmen, I would love to have those two boys on my side. The sad thing about this story is that we are living at a time that we can see the potential for activities such as the ones in the story playing out in real life. We need to be prayed up and prepared for any eventuality. What a great story! I received a copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
Gemma Saint was an intern at a media outlet who was put into witness protection after she testified at a trial. She is very unhappy in her new life but accepting of it due to the circumstances. Those circumstances change with a phone call from her WITSEC Inspector in which he tells her to flee and everything she's been told is a lie. When she hears him being shot while they are on that phone call, she decides that only way she will live if she exposes whoever is behind this threat. In order to so so, she contacts Lex James who has an influential (and controverial) blog. She and Lex are drawn to each other from their first meeting and he agrees to help her. Lex has recently taken his genius nephews Josh and Caleb upon the death of his sister. They are taken with Gemma as well. Lots of twists and turns in this one as well as humor when the smarty pants nephews help out. Lex and Gemma's faith shines through as well. KC Daniels, a character from another Wegley novel, makes an appearance here as well. This is a first book of H. L. Wegley for me but it won't be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I did receive this book from the author.
No True Justice book 2 in Witness Protection series. This book sure kept my attention. It sure will not leave you disappointed. Just as No Safe Place did. I can not pick up one of Harry's books and read a few chapters and put it down. The suspense keeps me flipping the pages. Jammed packed with action and adventure. Also some spiritual. Little bit of romance. All makes for a great story. Characters are wonderfully written. Even 2 little Twin boys who will melt your heart. But be careful of them they may be 4 years old but they are genius's. Gemma is on the run. Being put in witness protection she thought she was safe but they have found her. She needs to leave so ones she cares for will not be harmed. The chase is on. You will not put the book down till done. Thanks Harry Wegley for another great story!
Usually when someone is put in the Witness Protection program it is for their protection from the bad guys who are after their life. But with Gemma Saint it was the total opposite. She was placed in it to keep her quiet so she could not testify against them…..The excitement starts when you open this book and read the first page. Wegley is a well informed and intelligent writer, he knows about what he is writing. This book is so interesting as it parallels this present day with the corruption we see in our present government. Saint flees for her life when her inspector calls her and tells her it is all a lie and she is in danger of being killed. There is so much action, danger even murder as the rogue FBI and DOJ tries to silence her and also the man Lex whom she has run to hoping he can publish her story. Oh yes and there is romance and a delightful ending. A great book.
She knew to much so they lied to her and put her in protection. When she finds herself with no where to turn she heads to someone she thinks she can trust. He is still spinning from the death of his sister and brother in law and now finds himself father to twin Einstein's. Yup and boy are they adorable yet dangerous, I had to add one star just for them alone. Don't let their age fool you they're no joke, well they are kinda funny. It's a great story of over coming fears and being led by signs and wonders while removing boundaries. They both have a lot to learn and we get to enjoy the ride as they figure it out. I do believe I have found me a great author who does the perfect blend of God's word, delivering the message and enjoying a great read in the process. This author's no nonsense style is right up my ally.
As with each of H. L. Wesley's books, I couldn't put it down! So many truths and parallels to our current political system, but written with the greatest truth aoven into the story. I highly recommend this and each of this author's books for the suspense, truth, romance, all told without vulgarity or coarseness. Overall one of the best authors to follow.

loved this book. It had mystery and suspense that keep you on edge right to the very end. Also liked that the fact that it is a clean story. It was refreshing to see the charcters did not kill when they could have and taken things into their own hands for revenge , but let the powers to be serve justice. The twins were very refreshing and funny additiontion to the book. It was fun to wait and see what to see they could think up next. I would highly recomend this book to anyone who loves to read about mystery and suspnce. I am looking forward to reading more books by this authur.
No True Justice, written by HL Wegley, is yet another great read! As always, Wegley takes a political fiction read and brings in just the right amount faith and romance to keep me turning the pages! Totally loved Gemma! What courage! Lex...yeah, he's a keeper and those twins! Josh and Caleb were adorable on top of being totally smart! Put these four characters together and you have a winner of a read! You'll want to read the whole series even if they are standalones! I was given an ARC of this book by the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own!
What a thrilling roller coaster ride of danger. Mr. Wegley writes truly excellent suspenseful love stories. Once I started this book, I couldn't put it down. Well written and engaging from the first paragraph. Kudos for a superb book. Highly recommend. I received a copy from the author. Opinions are my own.
What do 4 year old twins with IQ’s in the 200 range, a WISTEC escapee, a journalist trying uncover a plot to rig a presidential election, some FBI that have gone rouge … don’t forget the squirt gun and sand wedge … have in common? The making of a TRULY WONDERFUL book! Well worth the read that will also provide you some giggles
This is another exciting book in the Witness Protection series. I read while on vacation and took me longer to read as I wanted to really follow all the twists and turns. Exciting and keeps you on the edge. Another beautiful love story also.
Loved it, laughed at the antics of the twins. They Added an exciting bonus to your story line. Another night without sleep. Listened to my Kindle through the night 🌙 3 HLWegley books in two days, oh yes and nights
This book started with lots of suspense and just kept it going. There were many, many twists. Action packed. Loved the twins and their antics. Felt at times like I was reading from today's headlines.
An entertaining read! It sounds a lot like the political climate in the country today. I am convinced that the justice department in our country has a lot of people in it who hate our President and what he stands for.
These "stories" are unsettling close to current events in our U.S.A. government, journalism, and population. We desperately need real life hero's like K. C. , her husband, Lex, Gemma and the honorable law enforcement officers. May God to bless His people.
I truly and thoroughly enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down. I finally had to make myself put the book down so I could go to bed. The twins were absolutely precious. I could very easily picture some of the escapades they would perpetrate.
Really enjoyed this story of uncovering bad FBI agents and all the characters involved. I especially liked the identical twin 4 year olds with an exceptional IQ. It added a bit of comedy and laughs. Great characters!
