The 7th installment in the hit 'Living Among Bigfoot' series. Upon being released, Tom seeks distraction in the warm company of friends where he learns that the recent happenings are more deeply rooted in the history of this sleepy town than he could ever have imagined. Living Among Bigfoot is a true story based on Tom's multiple encounters with the Bigfoot species.
Volumes 6-10 of the "Living Among Bigfoot" series continue the supposedly true story of Tom Lyons who had the unfortunate bad luck to get off on the wrong foot with an intelligent but apparently furious member of this hominid species. Tom sorts through who he can and cannot trust, deals with a bit of the paranormal and, of course, crosses paths with an all-powerful and secretive government agency who wants him to go away.
In summary, the books read like a well written and well edited, the Audible versions at least, conglomeration of all the scariest Bigfoot stories you come across in movies, fake documentaries and on YouTube. Though a fascinating read, all that's just a little too perfect for a true story.
I take Sasquatch very seriously and when someone presents a fake story as true, well, that's called a hoax. And, hoaxes do great damage to the community of committed researchers who are trying to document the existence of these creatures so they can be protected from vile humanity, vile governments and vile drug companies who would experiment on them with no regard for their intelligence.
These specific volumes drift too far into the conspiratorial to seem true. Also, the scary government men are just a little too scary and a little too powerful to be realistic. Further, the way things get wrapped up so neatly towards the end of these volumes doesn't ring true. If the author simply had not presented this as a true story then I wouldn't have any problem with it.
Lastly, I also found it insulting in Volume 10 when Tom was surprised a Southerner would be working for a government agency in California. As a Southerner who worked for the government in almost every state for three decades I can assure you we are fully aware of where California is, know how to drive there and, believe it or not, can even buy plane tickets without special help. He had no problem with an Australian character in his story, yet a Southerner from his own country gives him pause?? Jesus, that kind of ignorant, offensive shit gets old.
Old Reggie is the latest entry in the Living Among Bigfoot series from author Tom Lyons. This episode begins with a sad note from the last chapter. It is the first in the series that focuses on someone else's experience, as told to the author. Believe me, their story is just as chilling. I would never want to live in the woods, let alone go camping. This series exposes the darker side of Bigfoot and why people need to be wary. I am eagerly awaiting the the next entry in the series. A must read for Bigfoot and cryptid lovers.
As usual Mr Lyons sets us up to be entangled into his story. Old Reggie is no disappointment-we are diving deeper into a backstory that draws us even more into the legend of the “Hairy Man”. I cannot wait to read the next installment! I promise you will not be disappointed in this book or this series!
Tom Lyons continues to weave his tale of Bigfoot....both the good and the bad. This installment introduces an eccentric character that evidently had his whole family kidnapped by a clan of Bigfoot. Some interesting knowledge is shared about the species via a photograph. All in all, an interesting installment that will keep you on the edge of your seat!.
Still a very good, compelling read. The tale expands a bit but remains simple and not bogged down too much with extra details. I think the real beauty of this series so far is it's similarity to a story you might hear spoken around a campfire. It definitely started off that way and hasn't strayed too far.
Old Reggie's experience is more terrifying than Tom's at this point in the tale! I am literally so caught up in this engaging series that I am going this minute to purchase the next one!
Omg... Old Reggie! I can't stop reading Tom's mini books. But. I adore this series. Author continues to flesh out the details, insuring that the plot remains vibrant and evolving. Pick this series. Read this series! Thank you Tom!! #StillFormattingIssues
After reading the series to this point I find it frustrating to wait for the next bookl as previously stated i would just like it as one complete book.
