Hajime and his party are on the way to the Haltina Woods when they run into Heiligh's princess, Liliana. What she reveals shocks Hajime. Aiko, the teacher that Hajime owes so much, has been kidnapped. Hajime decides to alter his plans and run to her rescue. However, in order to save her, he'll need to first make it up the Divine Mountain. Awaiting him there is the toughest challenge he's faced yet. A battle with God's Apostle.
This novel was probably the weakest one in the series so far. I enjoy Arifureta overall, but not so much for volume 6.
Normally I'd give each volume 4 stars, but I give this one 3 stars because I didn't like how it focused on Hajime's classmates instead of Hajime, Yue, and the rest of the main group. A lot happened in this book, but it didn't pique my interest as much as it could have.
Not to say that volume 6 was boring; it was definitely action-packed. I just didn't care that much about Eri, Shizuku, etc. I never became attached to the classmates startng in volume 1. Hopefully, volume 7 will focus more on Hajime and company.
Arifureta is still a solid light novel series. I'd even consider volume 6 to be solid, but it could have been better.
"You don’t do something because you have the power to. It’s because you want to do something that you obtain the power necessary to achieve it." - Hajime
A quote that resonated in my heart going into 2021.
Well, well, well. Six volumes for us to see Hajime take the revenge we have been waiting for. I have to say, it was a bit disappointing, but still satisfying. With this revenge we see another antagonist take the front stage, and I have to say, I am a bit surprised at this choice. The author even talks about it in their afterword and what a surprise it is. For me, all I can think of is the difference between standard novels and light novels. In a normal novel, we would have had foreshadowing of this from the very beginning. But in light novels, often written from web novels which are very much seat of the pants writing, there isn't often that level of forethought. So the fact that from what I can see, there was no foreshadowing, is not so much a surprise.
Still, this book was pretty good. It encompasses the last part of the second season of the anime (I read this first before watching the anime), and is honestly a good to stop the anime. There is a lot set up here, and I am curious as to what all will happen after this now that Hajime's group has grown as much as it has.
I will point out that Hajime continues to get over powered, and despite this potentially being something that could have dragged down the story and made it boring, there are still things that challenge Hajime and almost take him out. Everything is still not an easy cakewalk. (I will say that there are many points where it is for him, but unlike other light novels *cough* *cough* Overlord, Vol. 1: The Undead King, there are actual challenges to Hajime and his party, even as overpowered as they are.)
So if you have made it this far in the series, I am sure you are going to continue reading. I am. Hopefully it won't take me almost a year to read it though. (been too busy) So yeah, if this series has been your jam, then this book will continue to bring you pleasure and will entice you along.
This novel jumps right in. While he successful, we do see Hajime actually struggling in a fight against Noint. Of course he isn't surrounded by his harem of over powered women at the time, but it was honestly good to see him actually have to work for something again. And we got to see some of the others actually doing some good. Almost as if Hajime wasn't the entire focus of the book. *shocker*
I for one was glad to see there was some more about other characters. We get to see what happens to several of them (granted, not the biggest names, but still... ) And to have Eri on the cover who isn't actually one of the harem...
Even though, once again, the majority of the bonus stories were meh to me. I'm not docking a star for it since the main story was good and because they weren't so full of sex unlike some others.
Verdict: A solid entry into Arifureta. We see story lines for several characters rather than just Hajime. I felt like I learned something about the world, the characters and enjoyed my visit there.
It has suddenly turn dark, but has little impact because of the ABSOLUTELY zero development of the other characters in the class. More than half the class dies off, mainly the nameless people. But this book... Eri on the cover is Bae omg, she's way more unconventional compared to the cover art of Yue and the other girls. It's giving me mixed feelings because of the character with the least description turning out to be the best looking one.
Finally a good volume where something notable happens in this series! I wish the illustrator captured Shea's killer smile better, she finally had some cool action solo time and the image was underwhelming. On the other hand, I was sad to see Shizuku loose most of her coolness, I hope she'll get her groove back. Overall, this volume got me intrigued for what's coming up next so I guess that's a good sign!
Hajime never intended to get involved in the war between the demons and the humans, but when the royal capital is attacked while he's in it, he can't help but get caught up in things. In addition, conspiracies are multiplying like crazy: Aiko's been kidnapped because of what Hajime told her, some of the people around the palace have been acting very strangely, and some classmates are not what they seem.
This volume continues the trend of excellent fight scenes. Some of them are the expected curbstomps---the invading army was pretty much doomed when it picked a city Hajime was in---but Hajime is starting to attract the attention of higher-level fighters who can match or exceed him in combat, which keeps the overall book more interesting.
Aiko had some good moments too, although I still dislike how she's basically falling in love with Hajime over something he did while she was dying.
I'm a bit mixed on the other student conspiracies, though. Some of this has been set up over the course of a few books now, and it was nice to see how that plays out, but others just felt like the author went "Welp, you need to be evil now." I don't entirely buy the reason or the behavior because there was just no clue ahead of time. (And no, the nameless student segments hinting that someone is evil don't really count for me, since we can't see it in the person's behavior otherwise, and those scenes could just as easily apply to others.)
Overall if you've been enjoying the series so far, this is another good entry. I rate this book Recommended.
This is one of my favorite series like I finished these books in like 2 days they are so good and I usually give it full stars, but they keep trying to push the teacher as an option and can we not? Can we just not? Like how about we don't? Like I know you tried it and it's just a no so like how about we just stop? You're good.
Good story, nicely written with lot of action and funny moments. The characters are evolving nicely, and was good to see how the author write more about some characters in this volume.
I have been enjoying this book from start to finish and still enjoy rereading the whole series again and again! I continue to enjoy it even now after reading it for the fifth time now ...
Man, I knew stuff was going to go down, but not like that. Call it chocolate rain, because sh*t really hit the fan in this volume. All I can do is tremble and worry about what's to come in future volumes.
Best novel I read(the only one I read) haha . I know I will remember this story for the rest of my life. Also, after reading first 4 volumes and watching the anime again I was so happy That they were able to make this story come to life. Can't wait for season 2.
In this volume Hajime gets caught up in the gods' game even more as the capital where all his classmates are is getting attacked by a stupid amount of demons and monsters.

It has been a while since I started this series and getting back into it. I stop a while back because I was waiting for the next one and just never picked back up. That is life for you. Either way I still have not caught up to where I was in the web novel once upon a time but it is getting close. This one is definitely one of the better ones with the nonstop action and rollercoaster of emotions. It is a good read.
3.5 Sterne
