Holy smokes! JR Ward is just trying to kill me with this excerpt and sneak peek into the first 3.5 chapters of Consumed! My heart is pounding and I think my blood pressure just shot up and then it’s done! Ack!!!
Amazing anticipation! Danny and Anne are throwing their own sparks in this blazing story of a somewhat forbidden love.
JR Ward is on fire! This snippet is on fire! You just have to read these Novellas in order as they will lead you into the main story, Consumed.
Sorry! I got to go. I have to dive into it now because I cannot wait any longer.

I'm so glad I signed up for the ride.
It's another fire. Same as any other. Anne and Danny are on the job. But Anne believes she's a one-woman show and breaks protocol. Her rash decision led to her very destruction. Trapped under debris in a burning building, the only way to save her is to cut her out. But Danny hesitates. This is the woman he sees forever with. Will she ever forgive him for what he must do? Will he ever forgive himself?
I loved the intensity that I was teased with in this excerpt. It's not just the connection between the characters but also their connection to their lives, to their jobs, to the fire. I know that the actual book involves a bit of a mystery and I think I already figured out the culprit. I'm excited to see how it all unfolds!

Holy hellfire and brimstone!
So I just finished reading Parts 1-3 of these prequels to the upcoming release of "Consumed".
The first two parts tell the tale of a very simmering and explosive chemistry between two firefighters: Anne and Danny, and their struggle to fight their attraction. Let me tell you... super hot!
Then came Part 3.
Oh Part 3 you made my heart race with adrenaline and anticipation and dread.
I cringed.
I tensed up.
I actually closed my eyes, and then realized I should probably keep them open to find out what happens next, devouring each word despite my wincing eyes and wrinkling nose.
I bite my nails preparing for the worst.
And then...
And then, it all just stops.
STOPS.
Sweet mother of all cliffhangers.
*PULLS AT HAIR*
WHAT THE F**K HAPPENED??!!!!
You'll have to read "Consumed" to find out ;)
And this is just the BEGINNING people!!!

Anne is consumed... by fire, her father, her own demons or love, I'm not sure.
This is the first 3 chapters of Consumed and it blended so much emotional angst, action, suspense and romance, I couldn't help but sob. Two firefighters fighting against how they feel about each other, survival, death, sacrifice, all in the midst of a raging fire inside a building. I can't give anything away but I'll leave you with one thought to ponder...
If the man/woman you love is trapped in a fire and can't escape, would you die with him/her or would you do whatever it took to save him/her? Even if it means never holding his/her hand again?
I have to read to see what happens next... and you can too in early October.

Damn. That was tense. This was the first 4 chapters of Consumed and it took no time in firing up. Pun intended. I'd definitely read this book.
