Brand-new horror from Nick Keller (Death Head), Conor Nolan (Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Giants), and Kelly Fitzpatrick (Shade the Changing Girl).
As summer comes to an end, three friends start senior year with a bang by exploring the mysterious past of their school. But before the night is over, their adventure turns into trouble when the kids set loose an evil that seeks to prey on their worst nightmares.
This was OK. It definitely had a Stephen King or Locke & Key vibe. The story was just missing some pieces and could have used another issue or two to flesh things out more, especially some of the horror elements. Conor Nolan's art was decent but all the characters looked the same age whether it be 11, 17, or 40, all the characters looked like teenagers.
Received a review copy from Dark Horse and Edelweiss. All thoughts are my own and in no way influenced by the aforementioned.
Bedtime Games comics is classic spooky horror "boogeyman" style. Some nosy kids release supernatural being with his own agenda which is not very promising for other people around. The art is nice, colourful and it gives "comics for kids style" feel to me. The story is not super smart, but well executed. The quantity of background for characters surprised me, and maybe if there would be less of it, there would be more space for the finale, which felt shortened and rushed. But I enjoyed it, it was thrilling, but at the end it felt a bit "undercooked".
some friends sneak into a tunnel and i guess awaken some kind of boogeyman? this was messy & not well thought out or executed and the art was.... ugly.
