What could be better than waking up next to a hot guy? Waking up sandwiched between two of them.

Quinn Preston, a financial analyst, is not happy when her friends dare her to pick up a handsome stranger at a wedding reception. What better reason to give up men when her previous long-term relationship had not only been lackluster in the bedroom but he had cheated?

Logan Reed, a successful business owner, can't believe that he's attracted to the woman in the ugly, Pepto-Bismol pink bridesmaid dress. And to boot, she's more than tipsy. After turning down her invitation for a one-night stand, he finds her in the parking lot too impaired to drive. He rescues her and takes her home. His home.

The next morning Quinn's conservative life turns on its ear when Logan introduces her to pleasures she never even considered before. And to make things more complicated, Logan already has a lover.

Tyson White, ex-pro football player, is completely in love with Logan. He has mixed emotions when Logan brings home Quinn. But the dares keep coming...

Note: This book in the series can be read as stand-alone. It includes an HEA ending. It is intended for audiences over 18 years of age since it includes scenes between all three characters - MMF.

Another of my "I'm-on-a-total-bi-menage-kick" purchases from All Romance Ebooks. Maybe the best of the ones I've read so far from my ebook shopping binge. There was only one area that kept the book from being really great.

Series Note:
No known series.

Summary:
Quinn Preston has just been through a bad breakup when she has to attend a wedding and wear a wretched pink dress. She's chugging down some yummy drinks at the bar when she meets just about the sexiest guy ever, Logan Reed. Attraction sizzles but Logan has no intention of sleeping with a drunk girl. So he takes her home and lets her sleep it off at his place. Soon as she's sober, though? Logan has her naked and bent over a table.

Which is what Logan's live-in lover, Tyson White, walks in on. The pair had been talking about maybe bringing a woman into their relationship so Ty is not all that surprised to find Trev with a woman. Quinn, though, is totally shocked to find out that Logan is bisexual and has a lover. The two ask her to stay and "spend some time" with them, but she's not sure at first.

Eventually, Quinn gives in and the three share some smokin' hot sex. Trevor is convinced Quinn is meant for them. Tyson isn't so sure...he's worried that Quinn will come between him and Logan. And Quinn....well, what started out as a hot affair is getting more complicated by the second.

Review:
There were quite a few things about this book that I really enjoyed, and one area that held the book back from being a really awesome read. I'll start off with the good parts...

I liked the beginning of the book: a scene at a wedding where Quinn is drowning her sorrows, hating her dress, and meets sexy Logan. It was just an intro that worked for me and gave me a good sense of these two characters.

And let me be shallow for a moment...but yet, the two heroes in this book were seriously smokin' hot. Two buff studs, one a white guy with long hair, a pierced nipple and tattoos. The other a dark-skinned black man, former football player with lots of muscles, a hairless body and tattoos. Ummm....yeah, can you say YUM!!! I was more than a little distracted at times by how hot these two sounded and how much I would have loved to have seen them together ;)

All of which made the sex scenes in the book really really hot. Logan and Tyson alone were hot together, but the scenes with Quinn were well done. Hot, hot stuff.

On a less shallow note, I liked that the author dealt with some of the emotional, cultural issues dealing with the three together. Tyson has insecurities about Quinn adversely affecting his relationship with Logan. Quinn has to deal with her prudish, staid family and how they will deal with her not only being involved with two working class men, but with one of the being black. That kind of stuff definitely added some realism to the story. And made the development of the relationship feel less like a sex fest and more like a romance.

My big complaint about this book, and it's one I've had with several of these bi-menage ebooks I've been reading, and that's with character development. Once again I was left feeling like there were too many things left unsaid about the characters. I wanted to know more about how Ty and Logan met. Logan had been involved with a man before, but had Ty? It's never said. It he hadn't, how did he deal with attraction to a man? What about Ty's family...I don't think they are mentioned at all. I wanted to know more about Logan's marriage and the badness of it. Etc etc etc. Like I said, I was just left feeling like my knowledge of the characters was incomplete. And for me, that takes a lot away from a story. I think I've said it before...if you can't connect completely with the characters, it's hard to fully connect with the story.

If it hadn't been for that one issue, this would have been a really great book...4.5 stars or so. But it was still a hot, enjoyable story. I'd love to read a sequel about these three and how they are dealing with the repercussions of their relationship coming out.

WARNING, this book contains: explicit sex and language, m/m, m/f, m/f/m, bi-menage HEA, oral, anal, light D/s & bondage, a little role play

Have you ever met someone and found them to be kind of off putting, but then you have sex with the person anyway (because the person is hot) and then the sex is awesome so you don’t really care that the person is kind of annoying? That’s this book. You might feel dirty afterwards (because you don’t really like the person or the characters that much), but it was fun so what the hell? Besides it’s just a book. Minus one star for the pony tail, creepy introduction of Ty, and all the other annoying stuff. Plus four stars for hotness.

“What kind of sex do you like?” His voice sounded low and gruff to his own ears.

“The kind where I get to come.”
What a steamy ride this story was! As smokin as this book was, I would have be just fine with Ty and Logan alone. Two super sexy alpha men, Ty and Logan are in a committed relationship. They deeply love each other and have talked briefly about bringing a woman in for a few fun times. Logan meets Quinn at a wedding and she ends up spending the weekend with the men.

I had so many questions about the men as a couple! (forgot Quinn!) Ty was Logan’s second male relationship, had Ty been with anyone else? What about Logan’s ex-wife? I really wanted more on them individually and as a couple. I believed the love between these two men, but claiming to love Quinn after only two week? Pfffff, that was just silly.

The author did touch on a bit of classism and racism but I felt the story would have been better had this been a larger part of the story.

Overall, there were a few cringe-y scenes and I simply didn’t really enjoy Quinn’s character. This could have been a really great M/M romance without her.

This was a really good book that was picked for me in a pick it for me challenge. Quinn Preston, a financial analyst, is not happy when her friends dare her to pick up a handsome stranger at a wedding reception. What better reason to give up men when her previous long-term relationship had not only been lackluster in the bedroom but he had cheated and broke up with her in an email. Logan Reed, a successful business owner and dominant, can't believe that he's attracted to the woman in the ugly, pepto-bismol pink bridesmaid dress. And to boot, she's more than tipsy. After turning down her invitation for a one-night stand, he finds her in the parking lot too impaired to drive. He rescues her and takes her home. Tyson White, ex-pro football player, is completely in love with Logan. He has mixed emotions when Logan brings home Quinn, but the dares keep coming. This was a really good book this was my first time reading this author and I liked the dynamics between the characters like Ty knew that Quinn had never been with black man or a man of his size or how they each had insecurities. I wish the author would have went into more detail about each of the past when it was clear that Logan and Quinn had been hurt by their parents for who they were especially Logan. This book was hot the sex scenes were very well written and I had to stop to get some relief several times. I would definitely recommend this book it's a very hot m/m/f.

I picked up this book because of a recommendation not thinking anything of it. I listened and enjoyed it, and then I went to review it on GR and found I had already read it.

It is interesting because I don’t remember reading it and usually I do, but I will say it was pretty great there are parts I am not completely sold on and parts I loved. There were a lot of sexy times. So if you in the mood for some MMF this has the story and the sexy times.

For me it’s all about the story, I want to know how they find a third if they want a third and why. How each person brings something new to the relationship I love that. Because they could have chosen to stay a twosome but they both knew something was missing. That is why I love MMF so much.

I wanted more from the end. I think Quinn was acting a little selfish and that whole coming out part just didn’t work for me. But the rest was great.

I very much enjoyed the narration I think all three narrators did a great job. The growls… I swear swoon!

I read mostly m/m romance books but I always have my eye out for a m/m/f ménage, especially one where there is still some m/m action and not just m/f action in the threesome. Double Dare fit the bill. I even liked Quinn from the beginning, she did not annoy me throughout. Oh, Logan and Ty...where can I find two men like them? Definately going on the hotness shelf. Beyond the well written sex scenes between the three of them, the two guys or a combination of the two, there was a connection between them all. There was also some light Domination, spanking and bondage, phone sex, very low angst...what is there not to like?

Logan, Ty and Quinn proved to be a good threesome and I loved them together. 4.5 stars

2 good idea stars

Something different, a ménage with 2 guys. One black one white and a white girl. The author was trying really hard to be inclusive but every time she mentioned the black guy she alway referenced his color. It wasn’t needed and thus felt forced.

Plus when you find yourself skipping through the sex scenes that doesn’t bode well for the book. This felt like a forced we can love who we want regardless of gender or race, with a little bit of reality thrown in. And I mean a little. It skimmed the surface of reality.

Good premise and idea but poor execution.

5/12/2021 - Whole series is on sale on Chirp. $1.99 for book 1, $3.98 for books 2&3, $4.97 for books 4-6

5/19/2021 - I know I read the first few books a couple of years ago – but that was before I was regularly writing reviews. Experiencing this as an audio has been on my radar for a while and St. James announcing the Chirp sale on Twitter made buying the entire series easy.

Since Double Dare takes place over a few weeks this is best enjoyed when you’re looking for insta-love with a heavy emphasis on steamy, steamy fun. This definitely qualifies as NSFW. Unique to most MMF books is that this starts with Logan & Ty in a long-term established relationship. Bringing in Quinn for what quickly turns from “one-night-fun” to “we can’t live without her”. Includes MF, MM, & MMF scenes.

This ends on more of an HFN than HEA. Ty’s former teammate, “Long Arm” Landis, is featured in book 2, Daring Proposal and Logan’s sister, Paige, is featured in book 3, Dare to be Three. So I’m hoping we’ll get some regular updates on Quinn, Ty, & Logan.

Note: There was a scene that bordered on dubcon for me, so be aware if you’re sensitive to that.

Narration:
Coughs. Well then. Um. Yeah. Whoah! Ava Lucas, Teddy Hamilton & J.F. Harding did a fantastic job. I loved that each character had their own narrator. While each brings their own unique voice to the audio, I liked that the personalities of the other characters stayed consistent no matter who was performing.

This is definitely one of the better menage books I've read lately. Despite the rapid development, the story is warm and wonderful. The guys have money, but it's not unlimited. The woman has a career and a family. The sex is steamy but not over the top.

I'll read the next one.

This should have been a DNF

I just don't get why this book got so many stars unless all these people were straight white people. The characters all deal with self-hate and had issues that were just scratched on the surface instead of explored. How are you bisexual but hate being called gay? In fact your response is to emphasize even more how you love women-not women and men but women. How can anyone reading this see themselves in any of these people unless they are vapid and obtuse...or possibly racist and elitist also?

This is told through the white girl's POV and maybe that's why these readers can connect to a white girl. Never mind that she is a manipulative, mean girl with no backbone using people to make herself feel good. She obviously doesn't like her friends but still hangs out with them and criticizes them in her head. She can't stand her ex but can't say I don't want to ever see or hear from you again and don't hang out with my family. She eats with him and just glares at him when he's around. Even flirts with him in front of her lovers when she is proving some unknown point. She's 30 years old and can't stand up to her parents, so she throws a tantrum at a public function at her parents to make them see her an adult while forcing two grown men to out themselves to prove their love?! Ultimate trash.

As an FYI, anyone who doesn't see color in a black person is undermining my personhood and can't connect to me to even begin to know me as a person. This isn't a good thing for you to erase part of me to make you sound more accepting. For another why was there this uber stereotyping of the black man--an athlete, oversized dick, undercover brother who needed saving by a white man allowing him to buy into his company after an injury? Mentioning his color a couple times is fine for describing the character but constantly sexualizing black skin with the black/white comparison imagery during sex and how dark Ty is (can barely see his tattoos because his skin is so dark but yet he and Logan have a white tiger tattoo. How do you not see a white tattoo on brown skin?) just seems like fetishizing the experience with black men, bisexuals, and biracial couples in general. Turns me completely off. Side note: My friends and I discuss exactly how off-putting it is to have white guys approach only to start talking about how he "only" dates black women and/or how "different" they are than other women gets them a quick shutdown. We don't want to be your experience based on some idea you have of people who look like me.

I have a disorder called finish what I start reading, so I read this entire book thinking maybe these are the thoughts of a white woman in the 80s because of society and interacting with POC could possibly be new post Jim Crow laws. I didn't see a time period in the book and no one these days thinks whore at a woman wearing a low neck, low back, high split, tight fitting dress. Infiniti cars came out in 89. Damn near close to the 90s. Guess how surprised I was to find this book was copy written in 2010. No excuse to be this out of touch without clearly marking this as a period piece.

Ok, so I started off liking this one but the m/m/f factor never really worked for me. Everytime Quinn talked about 'her boys' I cringed and wanted to yell, "Heiffer, they're not yours!" The whole point of including a 'third' is they're supposed to provide something that wasn't there before (balance) or enhance what's already there. Quinn did neither.

Issues:
I appreciate that the title is Double Dare, but the guys getting her to come over the second weekend by saying, "We dare you" was silly. How old is she?

Quinn just seemed like a horny s-word, and I don't know why that is. I have read other m-m-f books and really rooted for the female.

The three of them didn't DO anything together, other than have sex. This gave the menage relationship zero depth. By contrast, Ty and Logan cooked, roughhoused and worked together. You could clearly see the love there.

Their possessive need for each other, Quinn as 'theirs' and Logan and Ty as 'hers' was unconvincing to me. I didn't see it.

Quinn's need to solve every problem by getting drunk was not endearing.

I didn't like that my Ty was jealous and that Logan didn't seem to do anything to fix that. He told him to talk to Quinn but by the time Ty did, he was already over it. Awesome! *rolls eyes*

The auction - Uhh boy. First of all, the guys were right to call Quinn out on being selfish so to have them not only do a 180 on their decision, but 'out' themselves as a couple at the charity event (something they'd avoided doing before) was way too fantastical for me. I was rolling my eyes the whole time. Also, they didn't have the money to make necessary repairs etc for the business but they had 30K to drop on an auction for her just so her ex wouldn't win her?? Riggght. Don't even get me started on outing themselves as a threesome to the attendees.

This all really sounds like I don't like m/m/f books but, while I do prefer that women stay out of grown men's business :-), I have totally read a few that I really liked! This one, however, I only completed so I wouldn't waste a loan.

PS. +1 for making Ty(son)..not Tyrone thank God....a dark skinned brother with dark brown eyes and a bald head. A welcome respite from cafe au lait MCs with blue and green eyes.

-1 for the 'Nigerian scam artist' comment that Quinn made when Ty when Ty sent her the email. Not funny or cool.

Yes, please!

When Quinn Preston met Logan Reed, the sparks immediately flew. When Quinn went home with him, she didn't expect Logan's longtime boyfriend Tyson White, but Quinn's more than willing to be the filling in a hot guy sandwich! With Logan and Quinn's wild chemistry, Ty isn't exactly certain where he fits in the scenario anymore, nor is Quinn sure of her place with the established couple. Thankfully, Logan is certain enough for the three of them.

Mmmmmm, yea…that's the stuff! I love nothing more than a hot as hell MMF read, and DOUBLE DARE delivers! The book is light on plot, but seriously, who gives a damn when there's so much yummy delicious guy on guy on girl action going on! The three of them together was like throwing a frozen turkey in a deep fryer, heat boiling over from the word go. There wasn't a whole lot of depth with any of these characters, nor was there a giant misunderstanding or fight, but for what this was, hot bisexual ménage erotic romance, it was just perfect. Except for the ending, that I thought was abrupt and I'd have loved to have had a nice tidy little epilogue wrapping up the decadent threesome.

Bottom Line: No OM/OW; MM, MF and MMF sharing; some condom use; lite BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; no violence/murder. - See more at: http://glbt.theromancereviews.com/vie...

Wow. Just... wow.

Jeanne St. James just popped my menage book cherry, and she wasn't gentle at all. Not in the slightest.

Double Dare is book 1 of her Dare Menage Series, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I wasn't sure what to expect in a book like this, and I was pleasantly surprised by how intertwined the character's relationships are.

Was it hot? Of course. Smokin hot. I blushed and giggled more than once, y'all. But it was more than that.

Quin Preston meets Logan Reed at a wedding reception, where her friends dare her to try to pick him up in an effort to get over her ex-boyfriend, Peter. She does end up at Logan's house, although not for the reason you might assume, and the next morning they have a little tryst. Everything is awesomesauce...until Logan's lover, Tyson White, walks in. And oh boy oh boy....crazy hot and insane times ensue.

What I loved most, though, is the way the romantic relationships are explored and progress between all three of them. It made for a very interesting read, indeed!

I'm having a problem with reviewing this book. It was an engaging, hot book of a menage relationship. Great chemistry between the characters and a nice flow. It fell flat for me at the end. Sure, I kind of got a HEA but there were loose ends of her parent's feelings and of other drama. I've trolled the other books of the series and no mention of the characters names. I feel a bit like I was left with an unfinished book, that would have been perfect had the author just written another 50 pages.

Very steamy but story arc and characters were weak. The h is supposed to be in her thirties, yet she acted like a college student. She gets drunk when she was a bridesmaid, showed no care for her friends and the H stopped her from drink driving. I liked the guys, they felt like lovers but not sure what they saw in her. More focus on story and characters needed.

I have mixed feelings about this rating and review. On the one hand, the book was super hot! Right up there at the top of my list. But on the other hand, I think everything happened a little too fast for me and I never felt a connection to the characters, or between Quinn and the guys. Now, Ty and Logan? I believed them as a couple! Just not so much when Quinn was with them. Also a button of mine that was pushed was the racism. While it wasn't the overt hate kind, and was more along the lines of upper crust snobbery, it was still there and not a topic that I chose to read about when given a choice. Had I known it was mixed in to the story, I probably would have passed on the book. I'm hoping the rest of the series doesn't have more of the same, as it looks like they are all interracial couples as well.

This is my first time reading this author and I really enjoyed her take on a MMF relationship. Not one entirely based on the carnal side, but one with real feelings and love. It's an unconventional relationship by society standards and not one that is widely accepted. Yet, for some it works. This story was one of those. Sadly though, it doesn't come without costs. Are those costs worth it? I would say that is really up to the individual. In this case, it was well worth it. I am going to continue the series as she caught my attention in a good way with the story and characters. I would like to read more. I listened to the audio of this book and the narrators did a great job.

After finishing Boys in Blue: Max I had to read more by Jeanne and pre ordered the next in the series Marc, but the problem was it's not out until the 12th and I had to read more from her so I got this and a few others that she's written knowing they'd all be great after reading Max.
Wow! I wasn't disappointed it grabbed me from the first page. It's the sort of book that you lose track of time and you're half way through it before you take a breath.
I could imagine Logan being totally yum and Quinn had been dared to have a dance with him. She had sworn off men after being unceremoniously dumped on valentine's day by Peter after years together.
After knocking back a good few drinks at a wedding she didn't want to be at, wearing a god awful bridesmaid's dress she hated she was feeling brave or maybe it was the pull she felt towards Logan that made her go up to him, he'd bought her a drink and she could imagine doing all sorts of things with him... Where did that come from? She'd never done anything like that before with Peter, everything with him was the same and boring.
She had a warm feeling in the pit of her stomach and a tingling down below, Logan felt the same as soon as he saw her.
Jeanne has such a talent when writing erotic books that make them seem right and nothing smutty. More tantalising and real, it's a brilliant storyline how Logan and TY rescue Quinn from herself. She has no confidence and they have so much to teach her because she's beautiful.
You really feel like you connect with them and can feel what they are going through. Logan and TY have been together for a long time and loved each other before Quinn, with her they have found something they had been missing even though they hadn't realised it yet .
The story is loving heartfelt and real. You can feel every emotion poor out of the book. Jeanne has such a way with words that make you feel a pull from the book and the need from all three of them, they connect so well and know how each other feels and what they want without having to ask. It's erotic yet normal at the same time, I've never felt such an emotional tug from a book the words pulling at you. It makes you feel with them as if you are there and you know them personally.
It's a beautiful book with raw emotion and Quinn had been given her life back how she wants it, she hadn't realised this is what she'd been missing until it happened. Both Logan and TY were beautiful men both inside and out loving to give and please, Quinn had never had this before and she wanted more, but more of what she didn't know yet because everything was new territory to her and they were the perfect teacher's that she could trust not to hurt her.
I don't know how Jeanne does it, she makes the book come alive, you want and need more and you get it with every turn of a page. It's amazing and a fantastic storyline with brilliant character's both main characters and those in the background. You are that taken up with the three of them that you forget there are others in there as well sometimes, but they make the story come alive that bit more.
You want Quinn to be happy and you know that Logan and TY can give her that and you want to shake her at times telling her it's okay to be loved and to let herself go, you know she can do it and you trust the boys to teach her.
The book had humour in it as well that makes it all the more real, which Jeanne writes so well that it flows seamlessly from page to page.
I've never been so taken with a book before in a way I was with this book. The connection was there from the start and I felt the emotion pour out of it, the erotica was so hot, steamy and real wow... It was all written so well it was a brilliant story meshed together perfectly.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that likes a great story with some of the sexiest steamiest scenes I've ever read! I can't wait to read the next in the series... Now!
*I would say if you were under 18 this book isn't for you. Also if you don't like men on men, menage or bondage I'd not read any of this book!

DNF at about 15%, almost DNF on the first 5 pages.
We open with Logan, who believes he is far too evil to be in church so he acts like an ass to a teenage usher at a wedding (because the question "bride or groom" was just too complicated for him to understand). He does at least have the decency to turn down the drunk chick coming on to him.
Quinn is the drunk chick. We meet her while she is mentally fat shaming one of her friends. Nice. Her friends dare her to pick up the hot guy Logan, but he turns her down. Then he runs into her in the parking lot just as she is about to pass out. For plot reasons he naturally has to take her to his house. She wakes up with no hangover & approx 5 minutes after stumbling into the kitchen her & Logan have some BDSM action with no discussion, no safe word and no condom.
Then Logan's lover Ty arrives and while Quinn is standing there naked Ty feels her up and the guys discuss her like she was a horse or a slave they were thinking of buying.
And then I DNF the book.

4 star review of Double Dare (The Dare Menage Series #1) by Jeanne St James

AUDIO REVIEW:

This book contains M/M, BDSM and M/M/F themes and had me intrigued from the start.

Having listened and read several books by Jeanne St John I was interested in how Quinn Preston, Logan Reed and Tyson White would blend together, particular y since Logan and Tyson were already in a committed relationship when Quinn catches Logan’s eye.

When Logan takes a drunk Quinn home to sleep it off, she has no idea how her life is about to change.

There is certainly chemistry between all 3 main characters and relationship combinations. This was a story that was steamy and hot. There was also humour within and I felt that the narration by Ava Lucas, Teddy Hamilton and J F Harding really brought the story to life for me.

Double Dare is well written and although there were plenty of steamy scenes I wanted more of an insight into their relationship other than in the bedroom. Perhaps the author will re-visit these characters again and we will learn more.

This book had major issues. The three of them had no relationship apart from sex, this gave the whole ménage relationship no depth. While the relationship between Ty and Logan is believable and apparent. Then Quinn was just plain immature, there are better and more grown up ways of standing up to your parents, and they don’t involve acting like a ten year old throwing hysteric fits. And she's a horrible selfish person, who doesn't give a second thought to the people she apparently cares about. Then to top of this book, Ty and Logan make a huge donation, that’s probably their entire savings and a huge setback for them, all just so Quinn doesn’t have to go on a date with her ex.
This book was so bad. Do not recommend.

Extremely hot sex scenes, but I struggled to get into the book rather. Logan in particular I found off-putting; it was never made clear if he had Tyson's consent to bring Quinn into their home and had sex with her, which makes his behaviour cheating. Which is something I don't care for.
Well written and full of scorching menage sex, including plenty of m/m action, but not quite my cup of tea, I'm afraid.

I wasn't sure why I picked up this book from Amazon, after it got home it just didn't seem like something I would want to read (M/M/F) -- but, instead, it kept me up later last night than I should have stayed up reading it. It was a lovely little fantasy and I have hopes that Logan, Ty and Quinn will make it work.

Logan, Ty and Quinn will leave you feeling envious that you couldn’t come up with a MMF like they have. Definitely one that will have you reading in one sitting because it’s just too hot to put down. Those three had chemistry and then some. Ms. St. James will have you laughing and needing a cold shower all in this one book.

I received this book as an ARC for a freely given honest review.

This is a hot MMF read. A unique read that will draw you In and hold you while tugging at your heart. I love the character's and the storyline. This is a five star read all the way.
I volunteered to read an advanced readers copy of this book
