“Would you mind if I took a turn on this one? I could be your birdman. Get in with her friend first before you insult her and get a drink thrown in your face.”
Bert is trying to help his cousin hookup with the hot brunette across the bar. Victoria is content with her inability to garner attention next to her attractive and boisterous friend.
A wingman has his role in dating, but Bert is tired of playing the part.
Renee Ericson is the author of More Than Water and the These Days series--After Tuesday, Forgotten Yesterday, and Deciding Tomorrow.
Originally from the Midwest, she now resides in a small town just outside of Boston with her husband and three children.
Most winters, Renee can be found skiing with her family on the slopes of the White Mountains. During the summer months, she likes to spend every spare minute soaking up the sea air at the beach. All those moments in between, she is talking to imaginary characters and caring for her children.
This was a quick read, light and entirely adorable, without drama and any sort of heaviness. I’d have loved more adventures from these two, but this was a great start.
