I'm obsessed with this manga ๋࣭ ⭑⚝ It's so good??? And adorable as well! Single dad x his son's schoolteacher romance that is so very heart-warming, sweet, and touches your heart from the very first page.
In this second volume, I love how Tama Mizuki formats the story, because you're getting like four sections, each representing a season. The mangaka showcases the story in these seasons and how much the relationship develops. I loved that! The summer break, meeting the parents, fall with the start of school once again, winter with Christmas and giving presents, and spring with the new school year. Everything is well-crafted and I adored every second of it.
We also have a few misunderstanding and you know me, I adore when it creates friction and angsty scenes, so I was so excited to see how it went. We have a sick scene where one feels like the other doesn't trust him to be there for him and so on. I love the direction this story is going and I can't wait to read more in the next volume <3
There's not really much to say because it's just plain adorable but it was so sweet to see the three of them go through the four seasons together. (spicy sidenote: that is exactly how a kotatsu should be used if you ask me)
I definitely am way too obsessed with this series. Oh man, I cannot get enough. And I thought it’ll be 5 volumes but there are six out in Japan?! I really hope we also get the sixth one licensed bc for now I don’t see it on Seven Sea’s website. This story and the characters are just ADORABLE. So much growth in their relationship and yet still some things that need to be worked on - pretty realistic. We also saw Hitsuji’s fear for getting caught being his student’s father’s boyfriend for the first time, which I think ill be delved into deeper in the upcoming volumes. Hinata is still such a cutie, I want to poke him. And Hatoyama really grew as a father and as a boyfriend. The art style is still stunning and even though this volume was a bit more episodic than the last, the story still flows very nicely and there is a red string connecting everything. Cannot wait to buy and read volume 3!!
While this wasn't quite as fluffy as volume one, it was still very good. The main couple faces some realistic challenges to their relationship, but the sweetness and genuine love this little family has for each other keeps them going.
Just as cute as the first one if not cuter. Seeing their little family grow through the 4 seasons is so special I was giggling and kicking my feet. This manga is so good
Absolutely loved. It did exactly what I hoped, which was slowing down the pace now that the story had been expanded into a full series. Every narrative beat was perfect. I loved the seasonal progression in their relationship, and their development as a family.
Their communication is so good and so realistic. They stumble over things here and there, and get frustrated with or hurt by each other, but they always circle back to talk through it or apologize or clarify why they reacted/spoke the way they did.
Hinata might be the cutest manga kid I've seen. Loved how quickly he got attached to his paternal grandma, whom he hadn't met before, and his slightly older cousin. Loved his regular "good morning" and "good night" texts to Hitsuji. Loved his interest in animal books and his stubborn determination to be grown up like his classmates and have his own bedroom - dragging his dad's futon out into the hallway to accomplish his purpose. Loved the leaves project, which was realistically kind of terrible-looking but incredibly sweet, and his way of not forgetting his mom but also wrapping Hitsuji into his life.
And I loved how much Hatoyama was trying to make Hitsuji a part of their family, too - from introducing him to his mom and brother (albeit with some misinformation that he had to apologize for later), to pretty much outright proposing to Hitsuji, telling him he wanted to be with him ten years from now, and forever.
There are lots of little worries, like Hitsuji feeling like he's not fully a part of their family, or won't be accepted by Hatoyama's mother - that kitchen scene was heartbreaking - or even the issue of dating a student's father.
I really look forward to seeing what happens in the next volume. Have a strong feeling this will be in my top favorite series when it's all complete.
Me encanta Hinata😭😭.
I think I would’ve preferred this if the high school crush feelings weren’t brought back as soon as volume one. It definitely would’ve stuck out more to me if it went the yearning angle instead.
The first volume also didn’t contribute much in regards to the ex-delinquent father angle, which by the way is also one of my gripes because where’s the delinquent aspect???
The story had two plot devices going on - the delinquent daddy trying to be a father to his estranged son and the tender teacher coming to terms with his feelings as his old high school crush came into his life again. And my humble opinion, is that, none of them were handled well. It definitely could’ve given more emotions looking at the plot but I don’t think it succeeded. I was rather bored.
The story picked up a little at the second volume as they become boyfriends and balance their relationship with their own personal lives. The bonding with the son was implemented better too. But I decided to stop the series at volume two.
This story is very tender and sweet. This continues the Japanese Manga romance of two working class adults.
Hitsuji and Hatoyama are becoming more like a family. Hatoyama's kid just loves Hitsuji. They are acting more and more like family. There are many sweet moments between all three characters. Plenty of sugar in this one.
Hatoyama take Hitsuji to meet his family. His mom gets along with Hitsuji really well. His brother is cool too. Hitsuji things they have similar smiles, so he stares to observe. Hatoyama doesn't like that.
The story is told over a year so we see them during each season. Hitsuji has the kid in his class at school and so he has to be careful so as not to appear showing favoritism. At this point, they might as well move in together and save some money and time.
Great story. I look forward to more. I do wonder if they will get married. Hatoyama sort of, not really, proposed.
This was a pretty cute second volume with not much drama actively happening, however, there was a noticeable looming presence in the background of the plot of prejudice and discrimination as a result of homophobia. I liked that it was handled well and didn’t take away from Hitsuji and Hatoyama’s growing love story. Hitsuji meets Hatoyama’s family on a trip and little Hinata meets more of his family on his father side, which was all around adorable to see play out. I liked that it was hinted that Hatoyama’s figured out the relationship but didn’t say anything to the rest of the family, and even gave his blessing. Seeing Hatoyama continue to be such a good father to Hinata is also extremely heartwarming to see, especially since he does so while also being such a reassuring partner to Hitsuji. Overall, I’m curious to see what happens in the next volume of this sweet manga series.
series is so adorable. Volume two is sub- titled, "Basking in the Sunlight." It follows a year of the men season by season as their relationship grows. In the summer, they take a vacation to Hatoyama's family home by the beach. Things are kinda awkward when the men don't share the true nature of their relationship. But ultimately, Hatoyama tells Hitsuji he will introduce him as his boyfriend as soon as he wants him to. There are a lot of other heartwarming scenes throughout the year as the men navigate being a new couple and spend time together publicly and privately. This series is so sweet so far and perfect for any BL beginners. It has plenty of story and some well edited intimate scenes that don't feel smutty. I recommend this one for sure. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The way this series has a chokehold on me. The adorable little kid? The heartwarming relationship between the characters? The slowly increasing seriousness of their relationship? Please, this is both the cutest and sweetest series.
This was also surprisingly...spicy? I was not expecting that LOL.
I also thought the way Mizuki marked the passing of time by seasons was really smart and well-done. It also helped set the pace of the relationship between the two MCs.
I can't believe we only have three volumes out physically in North America 🙃
I have to admit, I enjoyed the first volume of this series far more than this one. I think the biggest flaw of volume 1 (the pacing) was worse in this volume. It feels like the mangaka is in a rush to tell the story, and I feel like she needs to chill 😂 This is a cute slice of life romance, it doesn’t have to go at breakneck speed!
Regardless, it’s still plenty adorable and enjoyable. I don’t regret reading it, and I will probably be reading volume 3 soon ✨
Open and honest communication in MY romance manga? It's more likely than you think!
This manages to deliver both the miscommunication and actions stemming from hurt feelings AND clear and direct discussions about why they acted that way. It all adds to a very human set of characters that can and will make mistakes with good intentions but ALSO resolve their conflicts and appreciate each others emotions more and more as they go. It's excellent? We love to see it.
Hitsuji is very self conscious when it comes to his position as Hinata's teacher and not actually a part of Hatoyama's family, though it's also clear that's what he wants more than anything. Even though he's a kid, Hinata doesn't tell anyone about Sensei being part of his family other than including him in artwork projects that he only shows to Hitsuji and Hatoyama. Very understandable and real emotions all around as they navigate this new relationship and their work/life balance.

This was soo cute. I loved the focus on the different and I love how open Hatoyama is with Hitsuji. His little jealous moments or anxious moments just make my heart squeeze. It’s so funny that he’s the one showing Hitsuji how to be more vulnerable. They are so adorable and I want them to be happy forever.
despite being a cute story, I gave up reading halfway through the second volume because I felt it was more of the same. I realize that my vibe needs a little more adrenaline and excitement, so this manga was too cute for my adventurous heart. Despite everything, I recommend it to anyone who loves romance with a pinch of drama.
It was interesting to see how they both are navigating their new relationship.
Hatoyama is all in. Hitsuji is worried about what would happen if they get found out. He is concerned about the consequences of a teacher dating one of his kid's parent.
I love how they are learning to communicate with each other.
Just as wholesome as the first one! With realistic relationship conflict and the communication needed to get through them, this family’s progress in existing with each other and learning how much they love each other is too cute for words.
I still think this is super sweet, but still don't like Hinata's proportions. They're so out of whack and the massive, adult-size head with the miniscule hands and feet freak me out. Still can't wait for more though!
definitely a bit of a step down from volume 1 but still cute! I'm curious how it's going to continue though as it looks like theres still a few more volumes idk what type of angst/plot could happen lol
