“I feel like I’m walking through somebody else’s life. I think we need to separate for a little while, at least until I can get my head around everything.” Three years ago, Austin’s world came crashing down. After suffering a traumatic brain injury during a car accident, Noah, his lover of four years forgot who he was. The loss devastated Austin, leaving him unable to love anybody else. Now, on the verge of a new relationship with Mr. Perfect, Noah rides back into town a changed man. He’s nothing like the man Austin once loved, but that doesn’t seem to bother Austin’s heart or his body. Noah tried for three years to forget the man who claimed to be the love of his life. After spending three years rediscovering himself, he’s ready to go back and face the one person he can’t remember, but his heart can’t seem to forget. The only problem is that he made a mess when he left, and Austin seems to have found somebody willing to take his place. As the two draw closer to each other, they will both have to decide if they can let go of the past in order to build a future. When memories fade, can love still survive? *** This is an unusual story. I felt angst just reading about these two men. Men who used to be together, in love, until an accident took one man's memory, Noah. Now, 3 years later, Austin, in therapy, has decided to move on. But his budding relationship with new man, Gabe, is affected when Noah turns up out of the blue. Noah isn't the same man as he used to be. There is anger, angst, and lots of feelings all around. But, there is also lots of lovin'. This is a short (2 hr.) story, and we get an HEA, but the depth is light. Just take it as a quick, fun, romance. ENJOY !
I really like the premise ; it's very different from most amnesia books. I just really, really wish it was twice as long because it would have been so much better if it had happened more gradually. Minus one star for a rushed story and a half star for the rather unnecessary twist, so 3.5 rounded up.
I never know what to expect when I receive an ARC from this author. Every book I have read has been different. I have not yet met repeating characters or seen a recurring theme. Usually I like/love the stories; occasionally I don't. That is down to personal preference, rarely because they are badly written or poorly researched.
Fortunately, this is one of those that I love. It is quite short; I read it in just a few hours. I blinked and I was at 37%, then blinked again and it was 60%. At least that is what it felt like.
I didn't want to like Noah at first. How could he do that to poor Austin? The Austin who had kept Noah's final phone call for three years? And although I didn't like the way Noah left, I did finally understand why he felt he had to go.
Told from Austin's POV, we see inside his mind as he finally works out that Noah is more than his “face”. At times, things did feel a bit rushed, particularly the (re)growth of love and passion between them. You get that with a shorter novel. Despite this, it is never not believable. I'm not sure if I can say that about the Gabe incident! That is my only niggle.

Decent writing but lazy/rushed storytelling. This book started off with a great premise. It seemed to be working its way into unfolding into a story that challenged the MCs to actually work on their problems, and fall in love anew. Then all of a sudden it’s wrapped up in 2 chapters??? It just felt as though in the middle of writing it, the author decided they didn’t want to tell the story anymore.
There were some things I loved about this book - especially the way the amnesia plot was handled. It was different than most amnesia plots I've read and yet more believable. I really do wish the book was longer as there was so much more I wanted to see but what I did see I loved. However, I really wasn't crazy about the plot twist with the "other guy" - it was out of left field, strange and very unbelievable to me.
This was a nice cute story. One of the main characters lost his memorable the other was stuck in the past waiting for the memories to return. Austin did not and was unable to realize things changed but stayed the same. His expectations blinded him to what was in front of him and once he released those expectations he could really see Noah.
Wow, I can’t imagine having the person I love not remembering me after four years of being together. Noah suffered a traumatic brain injury from a car accident not remembering Austin when he woke up. This left the two young men in emotional turmoil and pain.
When Noah decides to leave Austin, both men try to let go of the other and move on from a past that once was a blissful relationship. Noah had to find out who he was and Austin was devastated and broken for years after. With Noah rediscovering himself it didn’t mean he was the same person when Austin met him again years later. Even Noah couldn’t remember Austin he could never forget him or the feelings he felt inside for the man.
Now with the opportunity presented before them, Austin discovers a new Noah, one that is the complete opposite of the man he had loved. Now Austin had to discover for himself if he could accept Noah as he was and not expecting him to be the old Noah.
Max Hudson’s heartfelt writing about these two estranged men, who still love one another, but dealing with something that’s extremely complicated is amazing. You can’t help but feel the pain, acceptance and joy throughout the book. I loved the book and both of the MCs as I’m sure anyone else would as well. This story of Austin and Noah is both saddening and hopeful. Infuriating and scary at times. The author gave us a story of great loss, not due to death but loss of memory. He lead us through the process a person goes through with the loss of a loved one. The pain, the denial and the anger as well as the need to not let go at any cost, until you have no choice in order to stay sane. Through a bit of this book I was so extremely sad that Austin could not let go of Noah's memory. Couldn't move on even though he really needed to to heal. Then he finally let go of the last he had of Noah. He started to date. Then his world tilted on it's axis. I will leave you there. You need to experience what happens next on your own. Just know this, it is a fantastic ride. I was given an Advanced Readers Copy in exchanage for my honest review of the book.
An excellent book about Austin as he struggles with his sense of loss and grief over Noah his boyfriend walking out on him after he traumatically loses his memory. Three years and not a word. Austin is finally giving up and trying to move on, but it is hard. He has a man who is pursuing him, but he can't find a spark. Just when he has decided to move on, Noah makes an appearance in his life again. The two men must face challenges as they struggle about what happened before. There is some stalking going on in the story and some violence, just enough to put some meat on the bones of the story. I would recommend it to anyone to read. In his latest book “ FORGET ME NOT” Max Hudson adds just the right amount of tension when a new reader may have begun thinking, “Oh, just another soft romantic novel!”
Hudson has a deft use of words, summarising difficult situations succinctly, with energetic dialogue, coloured with memorable phrases.
His ability to lead the reader gently along one path, is only surpassed by an equally believable journey down a new and excitingly different one that he then takes the reader on!
This is the twisting turning journey of two characters, each suffering from an unavoidable incident, leaving both with scars mental and physical.
This adorable story involves Austin and Noah. I really felt for Austin and how much he struggled after how things ended with Noah after his accident. The two finally crossed paths again. The initial interactions were awkward yet cute in it's own way. I loved reading how the two rebuilt a relationship and Austin was able to see Noah for him, not a comparison. The adult scenes were hot. I highly enjoyed reading Noah's soft and caring side. Excellent read, one of my favorites by this author. I plan to read again.
This was a good quick book about second chances. Noah had an accident and got amnesia. He and Austin his long term lover found it hard coping with the loss of memories that had together and split up. Three years on Noah comes back looking for the man he couldn’t stop loving. Austin can’t get over Noah and although he looks the same, he’s so different from the man he used to love. This was a new author for me and I really enjoyed the book.
I haven't read something from Max Hudson that I didn't absolutely love. And he always hits me right in the feels!!!!! I went into this book completely blind. And I have to say that this book was painful at times. How hard it must have been for both these men to deal with the aftermath of a tragic car accident. They both dealt differently and some of it wasn't easy on my poor little heart. But I loved this book so much
I loved Austin and Noah's story. It was great! I loved how I could feel Noah and Austin's emotions and felt a connection to them. Also, I just enjoyed their journey back to one another. FYI, contains mature content. This is a M/M gay romance. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Loved the book but was really disappointed that it was so short, I loved how they found each other again and how it was twisted around so that it was actually Noah who was the heartbroken one,,really lovely story though, strong characters just needed to be longer. I liked the writing a lot. I thought that it was very easy to get hooked into. The story line tugs at the heart strings. It made me sad to think that the main characters were separated because of an accident. This story is all about the second chance at love. I loved the characters and the dialogue. I thought they were well written.
I loved this book. It was super sweet and sad at the same time. I was really easy to sympathize with Austin and easy to understand both sides. Great book.

At first Noah and Austin were not able to understand what needed to be done because of Noah's loss of memory due to a car accident. Noah left for three years then returned. Wow, it's amazing how they found each other again!
This one really touched my heart. To have the love of your life lose his memory of you then walk away because he couldnt handle not being the person you loved really hurt my heart. So glad they had a happy ending.
The premise was good and I liked it up until around 65% really well. But then the pace changed and it lost its potential. I was disappointed how the rest was handled.
I've read a few books where one of the characters sufferers from memory loss due to some sort of accident, however, this was quite different from them in a very refreshing way.
It broke my heart to see Austin come to the realization that "his Noah" was gone and he wasn't coming back. I mean WOW, not only did he have to watch the love of his life almost die, he had to then deal with Noah not recognizing him at all, and then on top of that, Noah leaves him. And at first you think oh, he's just an a#hole for leaving, but then when he explains why he did it, now you're hurting for both of them. Here's the refreshing bit -he doesn't get his memory back. Isn't that great ? There still should have been a little more back story and character building, but honestly that may be me just being greedy. I really did enjoy this book.
