This is a really great book!! At first I was getting a bit mad at MacGregor, and was siding with Regina, but then we got to know his past a bit better and saw repeatedly how he acted with his scrap of a baby and her... man, my heart was completely lost to the man.
The plot was really interesting, with great characters appearing all the time, hot scenes between the main characters and there was also real development and growth from both of them.
I liked reading about the Indians at the time, how they suffered and fought. The author is very talented, indeed.
At I was getting to the end of the book, Regina (or Violet) was starting to annoy me a bit, but I got her point of view, and she redeemed herself... the end was really sweet. I wish I could have Pierre and/or MacGregor for myself. I'll be reading it again soon. ;)

I love Mountain Man "MacGregor" he was verrryyy clear in expressing his feelings. Sometimes behavior of Regina really pissed me because she wants to run away from Mr. Two Hearts because of her own reasons but such circumstances arose n she realized that she love him. McGregor also realized how to use lovely words while dealing with his beloved Violet. It was an enjoyable read.

Mountain man

Great story with outstanding character.it's like you stepped back in time and found situations which confronted our early Americans. Feel sure you'll like this book.

It's always sad when you come across a book that showcases the author can simultaneously write well while also delivering a bad plot

the entire relationship of the characters is based on body betrayal
the author for some reason, and she should really check that, decided that it would be super coherent to portray a woman that has just been beaten and abused as someone that cant stop thinking of the "lean hard body" of the guy that's forcing her to marry him
it's as if she has no trauma at all

the heroe in no time is forcing himself on her and the heroine is displayed again as crazy about his touch

in a matter of days she's already calling the man that coerced her into sex "dear" and other nonsense

and we're supposed to think it's hot and romantic
ridiculous really

good writing skills gone to waste

This is a charming tale of a woman’s fight to be free from her controlling and brutal father. Stranded in the primitive American wilds, she’s faced with the choice of freezing to death or marrying a woodsman. Choosing life, she’s determined to find her new life away from controlling men. What she finds is love.

I loved this story. I loved the heroine’s spunky nature and driving will to live life the way she wants. I also fell in love with the live interest. Being of mixed blood, he’s had a brutal life and only wants the best for his infant son. It was heart wrenching at times watching these two vastly different people discover love and fight for the right to be together.

Picked up a cheap copy from Amazon and wasn't disappointed. The language is a little hard to understand at times, there are bits that aren't described fully and I had to reread. However I enjoyed this as a forgotten heartwarming romance.

I loved MacGregor and his gruff ways and his love for his motherless baby. The only thing keeping me back from five stars is Regina needing to have a stern word with herself, she should of realised her love for MacGregor sooner. What a guy!
