Genevieve has just purchased a beautiful historic home that needs a lot of love. Okay, maybe more than a lot, but she’s determined to make her dreams come true, so she hires a contractor to help her make that a reality. But when Barrett Cooper steps on her property, it’s like Thor himself has fallen out of the sky. How can she possibly think straight while having a heat stroke?

Barrett Cooper is focused on his business and nothing else. He loves restoring old homes but doesn’t get the chance to as much as he wants. When he gets a call about a job that piques his interest, he takes one look at the owner and knows this is going to be a hands-on project.

Warning: There’s a lot to love about this hulking alpha who knows how to build a house. But hands-off, because he’s falling hard and fast for the woman who has stolen his heart. With someone else trying to threaten what’s his, you’ll find out just how possessive a guy with a big hammer can be.

It's Live!

Sexy and sweet! This was another classic AR story and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Steam, sweetness and even some action/suspense. Definitely kept my attention and the pages turning!

-no cheating
-no pushing away
-great secondary characters
-no violence of a sexual nature
-dual virgins
-decent epilogues that weren't really far out - 2 weeks and 4 years

4 When You Know, You Know Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free
When I read AR, This I Know For Sure...I will get the Fantasy of True Insta Love with a very HEA that includes all sorts of messy love-making by a determined Alpha who has fallen immediately for his cherished Virgin who feels exactly the same way for him. The genius of AR is how this team is able to play with this over and over again by changing the "Hooks and Details" around the Main Themes.

As I have become hooked into reading these for entertainment, I have seen a pattern of branching out. Every now and again, AR will put out a book that is longer and has a few more layers in the plot and with the characters. Built for You is part of this group.

Genevieve is a woman who has a career working with the City. She is a research/speech writer for the Mayor and others. She loves her job and has worked hard to get where she is. She also has had interest in real estate and has finally found the home of her dreams. It does have some serious issues...it is over 100 years old...But the beauty, the bones of the house will make all of the work and expense worth it. She is explaining all of this when she shows her new home to her twin, Gabi.

Gabi is stunned she is able to even move in...They are looking at the house from the front yard. Ginny explains the interior is fine and how she had a co worker fast track the approval for her. When they enter the house, Gabi immediately sees why Ginny fell in love with it and gives her information for a contractor/construction company owner who would be perfect to assist her. He worked for Gabi and her husband Neal and the work was fast, clean and exactly what they wanted.

Ginny sets up an appointment with Barrett and also sets up a meeting with the co worker who helped her with the inspection. This guy Mark said the only way she would get it done was by going out with him...At the time it didn't seem to be a big deal but now after a bunch of text messages wanting to have the promised date... Ginny plans on getting it over with and then move on. She thinks she needs to be kinda nice because he is a co worker.

Barrett is a busy guy. He runs his very successful construction company which has grown over the years. In fact, it has gotten so big, he hardly ever works hands on anymore. He did decide to go out to Ginny's house, though, because it hit his soft spot for restoration for beautiful older homes and structures. He loves all of the woods and moldings builders used years ago. As he pulls up to Ginny's house, he can see how amazing it would be with all of the work it needs done.

Then he meets Ginny and he is really appreciative of the amazing figure she has... and the sweet smiling face. He becomes a bit tongue-tied. Ginny thinks this guy looks like Thor and cannot believe her twin Gabi didn't warn her so she would be prepared for the vision she sees in front of her. Throats are cleared and both pull it together. Ginny starts to show Barrett all of the house and discusses the necessary changes which need to be done due to financial limits. Ginny knows exactly what she has to do to make the house livable and all of the extra touches will have to wait.

Barrett is impressed with all of the ideas Ginny has shared. He sees all of the changes she mentioned and how it would make this house a home for the family she would have...and somewhere the idea of him being part of this family comes into his head.

Ahhhhh true virginal love....All I will share is these two are so sweet/dirty together...it is a match made in AR Heaven. Barrett is a professional guy and sweet during the day and then he is the naughty, dirty dirty, caveman when he is with his woman, hahahahahaha...Ginny tries to be professional with Barrett, especially after a couple of embarrassing moments to live down...Yet, urges and interest cannot be denied.

This couple had a combination of the sweet and caring mixed with the caveman/mine/baby breeding.

As I mentioned earlier, this story had a full plot with secondary characters which layered it nicely. Relationships with both Barrett's and Ginny's sisters were shown to be meaningful and strong. The suspense/stalker part worked well to pull everything together.

All in all the Fantasy Fairy-Tale worked and was a huge win for AR and her readers.
The only thing I would question was the cover. Overall the man works perfectly, duh...But the woman does not represent at all the figure of our gal. For me, it threw me off for a hot minute.

-Double V card
-Contractor puns
-Adorable twin sister and husband
-Loads of spunky breeding
-Pregnancy bonanza
-Some stalker and shitty OM drama
-HEA
I enjoyed this one, and even though I wanted more dirty talk, my hoe brain was satisfied with this.

I really enjoyed this story. It was hot, sweet and everything in between. I loved Barrett with his crazy and possessive ways. I liked how sweet but at the same time strong Genevieve was. And they were so beautiful and perfect together.
PS There were family members, that I wish will have a chance to tell theirs story.

Tldr: hero is a creep...don't waste your time. Dnf before the end of the second chapter.

This is my second go at this review since my first one mysteriously disappeared from the app. I really liked the premise of this book and I have been quitting so many lately that I really wanted to give this one a fair shot. But from the very beginning of the first chapter from the hero's POV he creeped me out. He immediately embarks on this long explicit sexualization of this total stranger who called him there to do a job, in a way that made me very uncomfortable. Before he's exchanged three words with her he's decided that she must be insecure about her body type but he seems like one of those guys who thinks he deserves some kind of award for being attracted to someone who doesn't perfectly fit society's idea of beauty. Perhaps it's supposed to be endearing that he wants to "worship" her "fat back end," but he seems like the type to try and make someone "feel better" about insecurities they don't even have or say things like "she's pretty/sexy/etc considering." What if I told you (and bear with me here) that you be attracted to someone for who they are as a person rather than just what they look like or that they could be attractive without the need for any qualifiers?! Shocker I know. Then theres a paragraph that goes something like this: I can't take this job if she's married because I would try to sleep with her. I'll ruin her relationship if it's just a boyfriend, but not a husband. "I like to think I'm a nice guy."
News flash...you are are a terrible person, not even a little nice. Let's break this down. First, you are not noble for saying you won't take the job to avoid breaking up a marriage when a) you could just not try to sleep with her at all and b) the very next sentence is you saying you're totally willing to ruin any other relationship she may be in as long as it isn't a marriage. YOU ARE NOT NOBLE IF YOU ARE WILLING TO FUCK SOMEONE'S LIFE UP BECAUSE THEY MADE YOUR DICK HARD. Next, you're saying that you literally could not resist trying to sleep with this person who is trying to hire you to do a job regardless of her relationship status. Like you physically do not have enough self control to stop that from happening. Am I supposed to believe that someone who thinks like that will respect a woman who says she isn't interested in him? Now I'm not saying that it's always creepy for a contractor to be attracted to the person who hires him, I actually liked the premise of the book. But a contractor is a huge position of trust. All I could imagine was a woman not returning his interest then being stuck uncomfortable, probably fending off advances, in her own home having to be alone/semi alone with him on a somewhat regular basis. This is too much like the dudes I deal with every day doing online dating or even just walking down the street. I read to escape from real life not to be reminded that I've been single for over two years because the entire dating pool seems to be guys exactly like this.

HOT DAMN! I loved this so damn much you guys.
Where can I find a Barrett? Asking for a friend….

Barrett and Ginny had some great chemistry! I couldn’t get enough of these two. You know Alexa Riley writes some cavemen and Barrett was no different! I need a fan after reading some of these scenes!

Another great read by Alexa Riley!

Genevieve has a lot of love to give, to the house she just bought and it needs every ounce of it and then some. Determined to make her dreams come true, she knows she needs help and hires a contractor. When she first meets him, she's surprised she can even breathe.

Barrett is all about business. There's no time for anything else. And he's fine with that, well, he was until he met Ginny. When he gets the chance to restore an older home for a potential client, he eagerly accepts as it's something he loves to do but doesn't get the chance to a lot. Seeing Ginny though, he's more interested in what she has to offer than the house.

As Barrett and Ginny are both equally and instantly smitten, it isn't long before they're talking forever, but someone is trying to make sure they don't get it. That person, determined to ruin their happiness, has no idea the hurt a man as possessive, protective, and in love as Barrett can rain down on them.

Who is after them and why? Is Ginny the target or is Barrett? How far will this person go?

One-click now and follow along as two people fall in love and must deal with any and obstacles that threaten their HEA.

Another safe, easy read when my brain needs a break.

Really sweet. Very insta-love, even for AR. At least they wait over 24 hours after meeting to start the mating process.

The plot's pretty slow, but at least it's low on angst.

Mild heat and sex scenes are pretty tame for AR, IMO.

The heroine drove me nuts for the first part of this book. Luckily these are always short so if you hate something (like Ginny) it's over quick. It was also more angsty than usual which wasn't my favorite. I like AR because if the lack of angst so this was an all around flop for me.

Omg!!! This story was H-O-T, HOT!! I’m talking melt in your mouth good!! Barrett, sexy contractor and built like a brick house goes to give an estimate on a house that was referred to him by a previous client and when he gets there, the house is not the only thing he is looking at!! There are enough sparks between Barrett and Ginny to burn the house down! With obstacles in their way that want to tear them apart, you are sure to love this book!!

Why am I so excruciatingly happy with the result of this book?

It’s because it feels like Alexa Riley has listened to all my prayers and constructive criticism of her previous books.

I’ve always mentioned how her heroines seemed to be particularly young, always “barely” passing the legal mark. It became frustrating and slightly imo paedophilic in description at times. And no that’s not to do with body type description but the constant mentioning of teenager, and legality, and how they have just turned baby bearing i.e. recently gotten their period and how they are so naive and clueless. It’s off putting, how they are descriptively women but think like children. Here, we have a heroine who is clearly in her twenties.

I’ve always mentioned how her heroines seem to lack ambition and become homemakers and baby ovens when that clearly isn’t necessary. They always quit their jobs/education after meeting the hero becoming enclosed. We are capable of having a career and a home life, and the heroine kept her job which she loves.

I’ve mentioned how insta-love doesn’t mean instant sex. Within minutes of meeting, in most of AR’s books we have banging which can leave it on the contrary emotionless. They didn’t proclaim love declarations after an hour. I liked how they forged a connection, how we get that sweet element which made the intimate scene so much better to read. I liked that they wait 2 months to get hitched. Fast track but not unbelievable. It’s okay to wait it out a little and still feel that depth of love.

They are both virgins. As we all know, the proclivity in most of AR’s books is for the woman to be a virgin, and she skirts around a hero’s past sexual experiences and always instead mentions how he has been celibate for a while. I don’t particularly care, but I prefer my protags to either both be virgins, or neither to be one. Considering their age bank, the latter probably would have been best, but it was sweet that they were virgins.

One of the elements I really liked is how happily married her twin sister is. And how much her twins hubby is also so in love, and can’t keep off her sister.

There was this development there. Like we actually got to know their characters and personalities as opposed to spank bank material from the hit. And I’m so surprised and really enjoyed it! So well done to AR for showing us a little versatility. A pleasant surprise.

By now most of you know I am a huge Alexa Riley fan. I love getting lost in their possessive, domineering and absolutely caring alpha men and the beautiful, innocent women who fall for them, because, come on, we all read to get away! In Built For Her we get Genevieve and Barrett in this insta-love romance with all the feels.

One look at Genevieve and Barrett Cooper is owned by her. One look at Barrett and Genevieve believes she has no chance with him but is immediately drawn to him. Their chemistry was undeniable and immediate. Though they dance around each other for bit, but in true Alexa Riley, we do not wait long. Genevieve was sweet and innocent but loved strongly and fiercely. Barrett was strong, determined and just a total alpha.

This is an insta-love romance with a bit of suspense and all the feels! Another great read by this amazing writing duo.

4.5 loved it!

Happy reading!

Passable plot and holy sweetness.

I try to have pretty low expectations for Alexa Riley because, let's face it, we don't read it for the plot or literary ingenuity. But I still would've liked a heroine with a little more confidence at the beginning. I also wasn't a fan of how she kept overthinking everything and doubting the hero's intentions. Doesn't she know she's in an Alexa Riley book?

I really enjoyed this story. I devoured this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I liked Barrett, I liked that he wanted Ginny (Genevieve) but he held off for a little while at first. I liked that the story started off slowly and then built up. The writing style is easy to follow, the characters loveable and the storyline enjoyable.
The chemistry between Barrett and Ginny was clear to see and I loved them as a couple. I liked that Barrett set about turning Ginny’s house into her dream home. The danger in this story had me on the edge of my seat throughout the story.
I liked Gabi and Neal they were cute together and I loved how obsessed Gabi was with Ginny getting pregnant at the same time as her.
Hated Mark, I am glad that he got what he deserved. I was glad that Steph had some closure and she was able to come home.
The epilogue for this book is cute and was perfect ending of this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyably sweet read.

Oooh yes, this was one of the good Alexa Riley books. It’s a bit longer than usual so I was able to connect with the characters a bit more and get more into the story. There was also some extra drama with Mark added in there but it was a nice addition to the story. He was sure a creepy dude and I’m glad he got what was coming to him.

Genevieve and Barrett made such a cute couple. He was so into Ginny it was making me swoon. Her twin sister, Gabi, and her husband Neal could’ve had a book written about them, I swear. Maybe they do? I couldn’t find it though. If not, they definitely should have one for their story. I liked their characters too.

And I’ll leave you all with a nice quote that stood out to me in this book:

I’m a strong, independent woman who doesn’t need a man, but when he looks at me like that, I’m a damsel stuck in a tower and the only escape is on his dick.

😂😂😂 the best.
