The best portion of the book Conversation between the Hero and the heroine at the end of the book
"How's my mother?"
"She's a trip. She tried out baby names on me today."
"Did you two come up with anything?"
"Baby names?" She couldn't believe she'd brought this up with him - and all because she was so intent on changing the subject.
"Well?" he said, sounding totally serious. "Babies have to have names."
"We're not having a baby," she said.
"I could make a liar out of you by morning."
That left her absolutely speechless.
"Hey." He took her by the chin and tilted her face up to his. "I've been patient, A.J. Give me that, at least. And tell me one thing. Why are you so scared of having this conversation with me?"
"About babies?"
"About us."
"We weren't talking about us, Jack, we were talking about what your mother wants to name the grandchildren she wants you to give her."
"Okay." He turned serious. "Let's talk about babies. Make my mother a happy woman, A.J. Be the mother of my children. Come and live with me. Love me. Grow old with me. We'll sit on the porch in our rockers together and laugh about the good old days, and I'll love you as much then as I do now."
Was like watching an episode of Criminal minds or one of those lawyer shows and romance thrown into it, truth was I felt awful for the h and couldn't separate the romance from the tragedy and her constant denial although realistic, became annoying for the genre.. I read Michael Connelly, John Grisham etc and I'm prepared for the heaviness with those not with harlequinn.
And the last chapter just made me not like her more... she was acting selfish to me
The whole plot series is very well written and there are no glaring plot holes that irk you and distract you. The characters of H and h, their love and the way they come together is written very well. Even when the character of Kitty his friends with benefits reminds H and us readers of the life H had before he met h, but then she makes an abrupt disappearance. Since she didn't contribute to the exciting plot line and the H doesn't have any feelings for her, the author didn't drag down the pace for the readers by having some confrontational scenes etc.,
