I loved Ishmael with all that I had in me then I realized that our love just wasn't enough. Arquez was there for me; he’d somehow became the shoulder I cried on when Ishmael let me down. See the problem was that Arquez was his best friend. More like his brother. I guess the best way to describe Arquez was that he was somewhere between a sweetheart and an asshole. Yet, I couldn’t stop myself from falling for him. So what’s a girl to do when she’s fallen for the last man she should ever be with? Do I give in to these feelings or do I stay with a man that I don’t even have all of? I’m Palmer and this is my story.
WOW!!! Taken from a famous DJ "here's another one... DJKhaleed"!!!
O.M.G.... This right here, this story right here deserved more than a simple 5 stars. This should start at 100% and go up from there. What a story: Palmer and Arquez, WOW! Man, let me start off by saying or rather asked "where can I go and me a Quez???? Please if anyone knows, let me know.... This man was so not perfect, but for Palmer he tried to be. He was the epitome, bad ass alpha black man and boss man; yet was so very sweet, and understandable, and respectful, and sexy, handsome and very endowed. Yep, I want me an Arquez... He had his faults, but when he made up his mind, which he had over some years ago, he waited patiently for his turn to walk up and take Palmer's hand. So sweet... Palmer, well, I don't know why MS. Thomas make these women to be so beautiful, and supposedly intelligent yet very gullible and dumb and destitute and down right un attractive... Palmer was that and as always, very petty, selfish and childish and was getting on my nerve throughout the whole book. I felt at one point, that I wanted to go inside of the book and wring her neck, let me tell you chile... I don't know how Kerry didn't smack her behind her head a couple of times. But with all that, Palmer came thru at the end and shut everything and everyone down... She did her boss thing flawless, but she still deserved a wooping; doing what she was doing before Arquez and then with Arquez and then had the nerve to try to look innocent after that...man, yep a good whooping would have been good... Why did Channel had to go out like that??? Too cold... Then his pops, man also cold... Ismael should have gone done with Rae and Karisma...why leave them available? Kerry was the bomb, and Demi was a'right. Tarik and Brody, hummm, it's hot in there... And please tell me that India is pregnant that's why she is gone.... But let me stop there because I don't want to give out too much because you guys need to grab a BOTTLE, not a glass, of you favorite liquor, go to your spot, buy the book and get ready to read this in one seating whether you have places to be after or not; and prepare your schedule accordingly because you are going to need it... Be warn... This book is that good...
I wasn't sure how things would end for Palmer and the way she handled her situation. She believed so many of Ishmael's lies and allowed his wrongdoings to be overlooked. I loved the realness of Arquez because if though he was a bit jokey and only stated facts. Rae was mad at the wrong person and it was so crazy how those she would've never dealt with quickly became her friends because of their dislike of Palmer. I really wished Chanel would've taken heed to the many warnings before it got too late. India was the true definition of a friend and I hope there's a book out about her. Although Arquez had a lot going on here still found a way to always be there for Palmer. Their situation started out rocky but blossomed into so much more. I didn't feel an ounce of sympathy for Ishmael because of the things he allowed to happen because of his pride. Arquez and Palmer both deserved happiness and I was glad they finally got it.
Dominique wrote a book about true happenings in the real world. Although we don’t like to read or talk about it, love triangles and abuse of partners occur evert day. Palmer, being young, fell in love with a man that she later found out to married. Ishmael brought his friend, Arquez into the picture to fill in for him when he wasn’t able to be with her because he had to do things with his family. Wrong move for him! I absolutely loved the relationship that Palmer and Arquez has. Even though it started out wrong, it finally allowed Palmer to realize her worth. As for as Josh is concerned, he was a miserable, spineless person who thought that threatening or beating on women was okay. He got just what he deserved.
This was a really book..And being a stand alone was a plus. Palmer was caught up in a real live triangle with two best friends. Even though she was with Ishmael first, I'm glad that she ended with Arquez. He loved her and actually took out time for her. And then Ishmael was a married man with a family. He basically wanted the best of both worlds. I hated the way it ended for Ishmael but he couldn't leave well alone. I'm so happy that Palmer got her happily ever after. No she wasn't perfect and made a lot of mistakes. But she deserved a happy ending..Awesome book
So many emotions and thoughts about this one! I was so pissed off at Palmer for most of the story for her going back and forth with Ishmael. And add on top of that his bitter and condescending wife, the whole situation was annoying. Yes Palmer was in the wrong once she stayed after finding out he was married but Rae has more issues with her than the one she exchanged vows with. Now I was heartbroken over Chanel. Even though I could see that coming, it was still sad. And I guess there is no loyalty anywhere because GiGi and Maurice were slimy and they got what they deserved. I’m glad Palmer and Arquez found happiness.
This book was off the chain! all I got to say is I went through so many emotions reading his book.. I laughed, I cried, and got angry. I absolutely love Quez thats bae right there for real. I'm glad Palmer Quez in her life. Omg and I hope there is a book coming to tell India's story because I really feel she is pregnant, and that's why she up and disappeared, but other than that awesome awesome read!
This book was great. I believe this is the first book I've by this author but I guarantee you it won't be my last. It was great from the very beginning. There were some happy moments and some sad ones. I wish there was another part. I will recommend everyone read this great standalone...Great job Dominique...
This was an amazing love story. Ishmael and Palmer had history and for 2 years she was complacent with the relationship. Arquez was saw such more in her and he actually came without the excess baggage. He truly had her back and was able to give her the love she deserved.
I enjoyed this book and the love triangle that was going on. I love it when the triangle is two men who love the heroine vs two women fighting over one man like most books. Can’t wait to hear the story of India, Tarik, and Brody. That’s going to be another good book of men fighting over their lady.
What can I say?? I love me some Arquez. Arquez and Palmer started out all bad but they finally got it together. The love that Arquez showed Palmer was priceless. I enjoyed all the characters and they will be missed. As always Dominique Thomas never disappoints!!!!!
Marquez and Palmer went through a lot to be together. I don't know if I could've put up with all that drama. Ishmael was really crazy. He wanted to have his cake and eat it too. I am a just sad that Arquez's dad had to die innocently because of this love for Palmer. This was a very good story.
This was a very well written story. While I normally avoid love triangles, something about the synopsis pulled me I’m. Im so glad I took a chance on this. Arquez and Palmer were truly meant to be. I’m glad Arquez took the chance and shot his shot. Ishmael was insane and I’m glad he got his karma.
Ishmael was wrong for going after Arquez family like that. Arquez was wrong for going after Palmer. Also Ishmael was wrong also knowing when they both seen Palmer Arquez wanted her first. Why couldn't Chanel leave Josh alone.
Palmer, Palmer, Palmer! This was an excellent crazy love story. Love will make you do some crazy things! Wonderful character development. Captivating storyline with lots of drama. Looking forward to reading more from this author. 5 star read!
Reading his book was really funk it's great to wonder and dream whether or not real life can be as it is in this story.not really a love story but I felt like it. Thanks for the good reads
This book was truly something. Although it was wrong how Quez and Palmer got together it was bound to happen. What type of man sends another man on a romantic getaway with his side piece 👀👀 I really wanted to see what happened with India.
This is my first read by this author and I must say this book was really a page turner. I was so happy when Palmer left Ishmael alone. Her and Arquez were wrong but I love their relationship. Great book Dope author.
I don’t know who gave this book so many good reviews. Maybe the authors family and friend wrote those for Amazon. This book is barely tolerable. Palmer has no depth and Arnez/Ishmael seem to be just cliche urban characters. I’m glad this book was on kindle unlimited
Ishmael was worth a thing he wanted to have his cake a eat it too. But it has been said a thousand times a man would do what you allow. Rae was the dummy but she wanted to fault Palmer. The storyline was filled with life lessons. Great read.
ARQUEZ AND PALMER: A DETROIT LOVE SAGA - Dominque Thomas
STUNNER!
Ms. Thomas has done what she does over and over again. She has managed to give her reader's yet another blockbuster read! Her talent is blazing through the literary universe and leaving a blistering trail of romantic abundance which will be hard to be duplicated! This author/writer has carved out a niche in romantic erotica suspense which will lend itself to be self evident that Dominique Thomas is here to stay, and her original story telling abilities cannot and will not be compartmentalized. This author has spread her blockbuster writing wings and is set to soar for years to come!
This book has it all. Your emotions are given free reign to soar right along with this uniquely talented writer. In this, her latest project, she has proven once again that she is the truth. I stand in awe of her phenomenal power of the pen. The extreme anticipation she generates with each turn of the page gives her reading audience true reasons to rejoice while literally becoming a part of the storyline rather than a non participatory sideline hugger. I, as a reader, was allowed through Ms. Thomas' superb minstrel like writing to experience love, joy, lust, terror, undecidedness and rapid heart beating emotions that her characters were going through. When a writer can make you experience that then you know she is some kind of special. Special is the word I gladly attribute to this wonderful book.
We are also treated to something else which is in of itself remarkable, concerning this read - SHE WROTE A STANDALONE!! HALLELUJAH!! A book with a beginning, middle and ending all in one package! I'm luvin it!!! But get this! Even though we are treated to a complete read with no cliff hangers, there is plenty of room for a satisfying sequel! Pure gosh darned genius! I am waiting - and not patiently - for a new beginning where this ending left off.
Congratulations, Ms. Thomas on a job well done. So glad to be a viewer of your shooting star!
This story was very interesting. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. Ishmeal made me sick. He was so wrong for pursuing Palmer when he knew his situation and also someone else wanted to pursue her. Palmer was crazy to continuously fall for his lies. Anyone could see that although he had love for her it wasn't really enough for him to commit to her and only her at the moment. I loved Arquez. Yes he got around at one point, but that all ended when he had the chance to go for who he always wanted. Rae was pitiful! She made me sick with he games. She was quick to blame the woman and act like her husband was so innocent when he was far from it! Poor Chanel didn't deserve what happend to her. It was beyond crazy. I was so shocked when she went off for her sister trying to help. Although that happened their bond was still there. At the end of the day they were sisters. So much drama happened within this book that was crazy. Some also went too far and caused more hurt. The ending turned out to be a good one though.
I really enjoyed Arquez and Palmer's story. It was really good from beginning to end. I loved how Arquez really loved on Palmer and how he had no issue with cussing her out if she started being a brat or disrespected him. Palmer was annoying and even dumb at times, but I was so happy when she finally decided that she wanted more for herself. The love between Arquez and Palmer was intense and it could be felt. The connection that they had was undeniable. I loved Palmer's parents...lol. They were hilarious, especially Miss Kerry talking about cooking for her man and putting her man to sleep....lol. I did get emotional a few times while reading this book though. I am glad that there was no cliffhanger. Anyway, excellent job Dominque Thomas. I hope that India will have a story.
A must read a great storyline no doubt. Palmer is happy with Ishmael but she wishes she was all his since he's a married man an she's is mistress. Ishmael pacify palmer with materialistic gifts and 2 years later she's still with him. Arquez is Ishmael best friend who he sends with palmer whenever he can't make it. Arquez and palmer joke all the time especially since she's frail in his eyes and he likes his women with meat on them, but when he always steps in feelings start to develop. Arquez and palmer break the code by being together but they were made for each other. Ishmael not happy with arquez taking his women wants blood so the crew has to choose sides. In the end throughout all the drama, heartache, and betrayal they've never been happier. Hopefully a spinoff in the works.
I love how this story came togher. Palmer put herself in a sticky love triangle but it's really Ishmael fault. I loved the love in the story. Arquez is the man a 100 grand. The word 'No' doesn't sit to well with him and he loves unconditionally. His words, the authority in his character and the emotions just speaks volumes. You can feel all the emotins with them. Everybody is going through something and have had a few bad relationships. Through it all there is a message which Kerry relays. How he was there through that painful death, and how he commanded order with Karisma stankin tail. With everything going I just loved the way Arquez showed his love. Not once and I mean not once did he run, he demanded respect and Palmer sooned realized it. Great Job!!!
Dominique has dropped another banger that leaves you speechless with her dope pen game! They say you should never cross the line and date your friend's mate, but what happens if their soul mates ?This story may have some in their feelings but it definitely gives you something to think about, nothing is impossible when it comes to real love! Definitely worth 20 stars!
