Alone. Everything changed for Meghan Summer that fateful February night. All she had, all she saw in her future, was stripped away in the blink of an eye. Even though she finds herself surrounded by her growing family, at the end of the day, there’s nothing but a gaping hole where her heart once beat. Or so she thinks…
Her. Nick Adams shouldn’t want her. First off, she’s his employee and friend, but more importantly, she’s grieving the loss of her fiancé. Even now, more than two years later, which is why it’s important he be there for Meghan as her confidante, without checking out her stellar ass. However, his heart is pulling him toward her…
Together. How do you move past the hurt and pain to forge a new normal? Can Nick and Meghan make a go of their connection? What happens when their newfound love is put to the ultimate test as another is brought in the mix: a ghost.
*Though part of a series, this book can be read as a standalone. It is intended for those 18 and over due to graphic language, descriptive sex, and the world’s most inappropriate grandparents.
Avid reader, writer, mother, and wife! I love to read contemporary romance. Add in a little "spice" or hot guys in uniform pants, and I'm a happy woman. There's just something about diving into a book and engrossing in the magic of your hero and heroine getting their happily ever after.
The biggest failure of this series, IMO, when they killed Josh - h's fiance. He was such a great man, one of the bests! Why? To be able to write this book?... 🙄 They'd rather kill Levi the manwhore!
New H, Nick, may be ok, but till the moment I read he was such a cliche - with evil ex 🙄, yeah, let's add a bad ex-gf to the mix! 🙄 He broke up with her only 9 months previous. Josh was gone for 2 years. What epic love could be there???
I want Josh back! No one could ever compare to him. So cruel they killed him -> will never forgive this author.

Totally ripped my heart out and slowly put it back together again....Meghan Summer is the last of the Summer sisters to find her HEA, well that's not correct now is it?!?! Meghan had been engaged and her fiance was killed in an accident two years ago. I will assume this took place in one of the earlier books because I have only read the last few and she was already devastatingly alone in them. Anyway, it's time for Meghan to start living again as she is so gently told by some family members and friends. Two years seems like a long time yet it doesn't does it, I mean time flies but I guess if you are just going through life the way Meghan was it kinda drags.
I had a feeling that something would be brewing between the good dentist, Nick, and Meghan. Meghan works for Nick but they have more than just a boss/employee relationship, they are truly friends as well. Nick was absolutely the perfect man for her, he knew Josh before he was killed and knew the love that the two of them shared so he was mindful of all of it when he finally started to peruse Meghan.
Listen to me KEEP TISSUES HANDY YOU WILL NEED THEM! I didn't know the love Josh and Meghan had but that didn't matter this book still gutted me. There are plenty of light moments because honestly if you read any of the previous books in the series you know there has to be with this family. But believe me when I tell you, you will be crying big ugly tears throughout the book.
While My Kinda Forever is the final book in the Summer Sisters Series we will be getting a novella soon to wrap everything up and I cannot wait for it! If you haven't read this series yes I recommend you start at the beginning, as I mentioned before, I started at book four but I do plan on going back and reading the others because once you meet these crazy sisters you'll want to know all about them as well. That being said, each of these book can be read as a standalone. Happy Reading!!
4.5 Stars. The PERFECT ending to this AMAZING series! I feel like I’ve been waiting for Meghan’s HEA for soooo long but I got and I loved it and you need it!
This is the last book in the Summer Sisters series. It has been an amazing ride watching each and every sister fight their way to love. From the trials to tribulations, Lacey Black took us on quite a journey through each book. Not only with each sisters book but the continuation of each couple as well. I can honestly say, that I have closely watched Meghan's journey from the very first Sister Series book. And I have patiently ( okay not so patiently ) waited for her very own book. My Kinda Forever is the one book that I wanted more than the others, simply because watching the things that she went through, through the previous books, left my heart shredded, torn in teeny tiny pieces. So I really needed to watch Meghan fight this journey we call life, and to come out on top.
Meghan had support, that pushed her when she needed it. Her family and her friends, but the one person that could see through the fake smiles, and fake laughs is not only her friend, but her boss Nick. He knew when he needed to step up. To take the reins, but was careful in doing so. Nick was just the best. He was so supportive. He didn't push for her more than she needed. He was understanding, and so so kind. He is the ultimate friend, even though he had feelings for her. He never one time thought about himself first. He didn't push, he was patient, even if they remained just friends for the rest of their days. When I think of Nick the one thing that comes to my mind is, selfless.
I knew going into it, that once I started, that I would not stop, and that is exactly what I did. I sat in the same spot for three and a half hours with my eyes glued to my kindle until it said " The End." I cried so many tears, so many. My heart physically hurt watching Meghan struggle through her emotions. This story is not just about romance, it is also most importantly about learning to live through the inevitable, picking yourself up when life has kicked you to the ground, and learning to live a new life instead of the one you had planned. It was so beautiful and so raw. It was a slow crawl to the top for Meghan, that took years, but it was amazing and gut wrenching to watch her go through the motions to get where she was ultimately supposed to be.
To date, this is my favorite that Lacey Black has ever written. My Kinda Forever was so relate-able and it felt so real. There is so many things that make this book, but I couldn't just pick one to give you, because they are all so...... meaningful. This book is everything you could want.
If I could give this book a million stars I would, and for that reason I recommend this book to every person. This is one you do not want to miss!
I am simply, completely, UTTERLY BLOWN AWAY by this authors' talent and I will hold this family (but ESPECIALLY this book) in my heart forever!!! Lacey Black is THE BEST small-town, family-based contemporary romance novel author out there!
I have ADORED every single one of the previous 5 books in this hilariously funny, INSANELY angsty and emotional series! I have laughed-out-loud, cried, UGLY cried, blushed at the antics of THE most inappropriate grandparents in the history of grandparents, needed COUNTLESS cool showers from the sexy times, SWOONED with the romance that runs through each and every one of the 5 sisters' love stories! BUT, THIS ONE...Meghan's HEA is the one that I both DREADED and, at the same time, NEEDED more than I needed air to breath!!! And I was NOT disappointed!!! If anything, it was BEYOND anything I ever expected it to be....and THEN some!
Even though these books are all about each individual sister and THEIR HEA, I would VERY STRONGLY recommend that you start at the beginning of this EPICALLY INCREDIBLE series and LIVE each and every one of them as they unfold in order to understand just how AWESOME this series really IS! It's in my TOP 2 series EVER...and THIS book is in my TOP 5 READS of 2018!!! Thank you Lacey....for EVERYTHING you ARE!!!
I absolutely love getting lost in a series of romances set in small towns. Something about those quaint little towns where everybody knows everybody, and the sweet romances that blossom in them just makes me happy, especially when that series centers around a big, in-your-business, close-knit family. Lacey Black is my go-to author when I want to escape to a small town and fall in love. Black was born to write these types of romances, and her unique way of telling these stories is endearing and authentic, and I can’t get enough of them.
My Kinda Forever is the sixth book in the Summer Sisters series. This series is set in the beach town of Jupiter Bay and is based on the six Summer sisters as they find their happily-ever-afters. Earlier in the series, Meghan lost her fiancé, Josh, in a tragic car accident, and the series has been building to this book. It was a devastating blow to the once vibrant and blissfully happy Meghan, who, in the wake of that loss, became consumed by her grief. She put on a good show for her family, trying to move on by busying herself with activities, commitments and projects, all of which she used to put off the painful process of healing from this loss and letting go of Josh. Lacey took readers right into Meghan’s pain with her, and this was unquestionably the most heart-breaking story she has written to date. I simply ached for Meghan, and I felt the depth of the pain that she lived with. Black’s portrayal of her grief was so gripping and emotional, I had tears streaming down my face for a good portion of the book.
Meghan’s boss and good friend, Nick, sees through the façade to Meghan’s pain, and he wants nothing but to bring some genuine happiness back into her life. He’s there for her as she begins the difficult process of healing, and along the way, this thoughtful, kind, patient—and sexy—man falls hard for Meghan. He’s got his own baggage, too, though, having been badly burned in a previous relationship. But the promise of Meghan is enough for him to open his heart, and the gentle way he handled Meghan was beautiful. I was rooting so hard for this couple. I was so affected by Meghan’s story, and I wanted her to allow herself to feel Nick’s love so badly. Black did an amazing job moving Meghan through the stages of grief and dealing with her emotions. She absolutely put me through the wringer here, but she tempered that heavy emotion with some very welcome levity courtesy of Meghan’s wildly inappropriate, over-sexed grandparents.
My Kinda Forever was a story I’d been anticipating for a while now. With each release in the series, my expectations grew, and Lacey did not let me down. She told an engrossing, poignant love story about loss and healing and starting over here, and she brought all the feels as she did it, giving me a memorable story that will stay with me for a long time to come. I’ve read all of Lacey’s work, and hands down, this is her finest work to date, and that’s really saying something because all of it has been wonderful. But what did here in this book by executing this difficult-to-tell story so fantastically, resulted in a truly rich experience and a breathtakingly beautiful love story for her readers. Five smooches from me for My Kinda Forever by Lacey Black. ~ Danielle Palumbo
[2 stars] hmm~ this book just a tad too emotional for me, makes me kind of sad. i mean logically its ok to be sad since the heroine lost her fiance but its too sad throughout the book. and also the book have not much surprise, heroine ended up with her boss. so kind of boring in a way.
I've been dreading when the day would come for me to start reading this book. I knew it was going to be an emotional read and I was right. This book was the perfect ending to an amazing series and my heart is full to see that all the sisters have found their HEAs.
Now back to the story: I loved Nick and his understand of the grief Meghan was caring around. I loved his patience and that he loved her so much that we was willing to settle to being no.2 in her heart even when it hurt him to do that. Meghan has a special place in my heart – I couldn't believe Lacey Black had done that to her but I had faith that she would make everything right and right she did! It was so beautiful and magical to see when Meghan began to let go bit by bit of her love for Josh and started developing feeling for Nick.
The only problem I have with this book is that Lacey Black should worn a girl before she gets to cemetery scene where Nick was »talking« to Josh. Good God how much Nick loves Meghan. You need to prepare tissues -take my word for it.

Gah! Meghan's book is finally here. This book has been a long time coming and Lacey absolutely did NOT disappoint!! We have watched Meghan go through the highs of love and the low low lows of grief. This is Meghan's story. This is Meghan's chance to prove to herself, her family, and her town that she is not going to be some crazy cat lady locked up tight with her dead fiance's clothes still thrown about their house. I LOVED every minute of this book!! Must read!!
Again I’m in tears. This series is easily my favorite. The ups and downs. The fun grandparents. All of them finding their sole mates. Amazing I don’t want it to end.
My Kinda Forever is the sixth book in the sexy, funny, and emotional Summer Sisters series by the wonderful, Lacey Black. I have a special place in my heart for these six sisters and their family. Their bond is beautiful. Their humor is inappropriate at the best times. Their love is everything. I have been waiting for Meghan’s story since her heart was broken and her life forever changed. And let me tell you, it was so fucking worth the wait!
Nick witnessed the love that Meghan and Josh shared for years. It was magical. Her smile was bright. It was real. Not like the fake smile she has had over the last two years since her fiancé was killed. He has been her friend and boss for the last six years and he wants that smile back. The real one. He wants to see her live again. She deserves it. He has always had a soft spot for his dental hygienist but lately he has noticed her in a different light. And it’s anything but innocent but he knows she isn’t ready to date. That was until he saw her on one...
Meghan wants to be ready. She really does. She knows Josh wouldn’t want her to sit back and watch her life go by her but how do you move forward after losing the man she was supposed to have a future with. They talked about their dreams. Dreams that are forever gone. She has watched her five sisters fall in love and she is happy for them but it still hurts. She wants that. To feel alive. To love and be loved. Again. She didn’t know if she was completely ready but something has been feeling different between her and Nick. She has caught him watching her. And she finds that she likes it. It’s not uncomfortable. It’s exhilarating. Could he be the one to help her move on?
I love Nick and Meghan! They have been friends for years so the trust is there. He has been there for her over the years. He has never pushed her and he never would. He just wants to see her happy again even if it’s not with him. He misses her smiles. And if he is the man to make her smile then he will do whatever it takes to make her do it over and over again. But, first she needs to be ready. He understands that it could take time. He doesn’t want to replace Josh, he just wants a piece of her heart if that’s what fate has in store for them.
Ok, I can write a novella just about this story so I will wrap it up. If you have been following this family then you know how much pain Meghan has gone through. She is a strong woman with the best emotional support with her family but she still feels something is missing. I loved this book because of the journey she goes through to find peace. In her heart. In her mind. And in her soul.
Overall...It’s a beautiful, sexy, hilarious, and emotional read. It was so fun catching up with her family, as always. Her grandparents get more and more inappropriate as the series goes and I for one fucking love it. I am going to miss this family but I am sure we will see them again.
Quotes:
“Karate chopping shit? Haven’t I taught you anything?” “This is so hot. I wish I had popcorn. Lexi is going to be so upset she missed it.”
“Of course it’s okay. Do you want my help?” “No, I think I can handle it.” Again, he smirks. “I’m sure you will, but be careful. You’ve been friend-zoned so long, you’ll probably have to forward all of your mail there.”
“I think you’re incredibly beautiful. And smart. And funny. And when you smile, I think the sun shines even brighter.”
Where do I even begin? From the onset of book two and the tragedy that occurred, I’ve been rooting for Meghan’s HEA.
It was a long process, as loss and grief isn’t overcome instantly. Every appearance of Meghan in the subsequent books brought a tear to the corner of my eye. I honestly didn’t think I’d ever get over the loss of Josh. But as time went on, it became less painful. We equally witnessed Meghan’s healing bit by bit, book by book.
What I enjoyed most about the delivery of Meghan’s story was that Josh was not forgotten. He did not become ‘he who shall not be named’ nor was mention of him avoided. He was a part of Meghan. He shaped her into the most loving and caring woman, and the fact that Nick acknowledged this, made him that much more swoon-worthy.
This book had everything I could have wanted for Meghan and was so much more than I ever could have expected. Ms. Black did her justice. True to the series, there was laughter and there were tears. But the author intricately designed the story so that each emotion was heartfelt, and placed appropriately.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed everything that Lacey Black releases, but this book is by far her best… until the next one.
Every author has a book, THE book.... you know the one I’m talking about? The one that goes above and beyond anything and everything they’ve ever written and proves how amazing they are! Well ladies and gentleman, Ms. Lacey Black has just done that!! As I knew she would with Meghan’s story. I knew it would be special and I knew it would be emotional, in both good and bad ways. But I didn’t know how much more amazing it was going to be!
I remember finishing AJ and Sawyer’s story and messaging Ms. Black saying I couldn’t wait for Meghan’s story. And that Nick, he was going to end up being a pretty special guy. And boy did she deliver! If ever there was a guy for our Meghan it is most definitely Nicholas Adams DDS (you’ll get it when you read the book!) I could sit here and gush and gush and gush for hours. But the only thing I really need to tell you because I know you’re going to love this book is this. Meghan stole my heart and I’m sure yours right along with me. She deserves her happily ever after. You will laugh, you will cry, but most importantly you will be able to cheer Meghan on as she begins a different journey to her happily ever after. And you get to experience Nick. There are no words to describe Nick, other then perfect. To see the way he loves and cherishes Meghan is everything. The little things he does for her and let’s her keep Josh in her life. Just guys you’re going to swoon so so hard! Ok that was a lot more then I wanted to say but I mean come on. It’s the book we’ve been waiting for!!
That being said, you also get to dive back in to the amazing family. We get to see Payton, Dean, and Brielle’s happily ever after; Jaime and Ryan’s, AJ and Sawyer, Abby and Levi, and Lexi and Linckin. And of course our favorite grandparents! Emma and Orval, omg!! There’s even a little in store for Brian too. My heart loves this family and I was pleasantly surprised when o got to the end of this book. This family has became my family and I’m so glad I’ve been able to know them and love them! My heart is full and smiling and I won’t be letting go of this story for a long time coming! <3
My heart. I have been reading Lacey's books since before she wrote My Kinda Kisses and I have loved every book of hers. For some reason this book stuck with me the most and I loved the most. Warning: If you have not read the previous books in this series stop reading this review as there are spoilers from My Kinda Night.
When Josh died in MKN I was devastated someone who was perfect for Meghan taken away, I'll be honest I didn't think that Lacey could undo the damage and loss that we all felt - but she did. Megan got her happy ending. But just like life, happy endings don't come without struggles. I felt for Megan, I felt what she was going through it was described so vividly I was able to feel for her and my heart crushed everytime a tear shed down her face. When I read the blurb for this book I hated Nick - I felt as if he was replacing Josh - something that no one could do. But I wasn't even 1/2 way Nick's chapter and I instantly loved him.
Lacey tells her stories in 2 perspectives, both sides of the relationship. I loved them both. I loved that she gave Nick the depth to care enough about Meg to not push her, I loved that she gave Meg the time to heal and the necessary steps of processing a very real death. This made the story come full circle and left you hanging with a promise of 1 more story! YAYAYYYAY!
Lacey continues time and time again to share the characters and stories she has created and this time has proven to take us on quite the emotional journey.
If you are a fan of romance, crazy emotions, finding yourself, and just a phenomenal read read this book. If you haven't read the first 5 go back and start at the beginning. I promise it is worth it.
My Kinda Forever is THE ONE! The Summer Sisters Series is one for the books. They each bring something different to the table, but at the end, they are always there for one another. My Kinda Forever is the 6th book in the Summer Sisters , and is the BEST ONE! Meghan lost the love of her life 2 years ago. She's been grieving and not living. She's been existing in life. As she goes through the motions, everyone around her is living. Her sisters are engaged, having babies, or getting ready to walk down that aisle. Meghan just wants to move forward. Easier said than done.
Meghan's story is one of the best. For me it was an emotional roller coaster, that brought all your feelings to the surface. MKF made you smile, laugh, root for the two, and pray good things came to them. With every heartache, there is a reason and a purpose. After a much needed talk to the one person she hasn't seen in two years, Meghan realizes what she wants and needs is right in front of her. It's time to let go, and start a new chapter in her life, but can she do it? Is she strong enough to let go of the past and what Josh holds dear to her heart for Nick, a boss, a friend, and a support system that would do anything and everything for her. Even possibly love her and her crazy family.
Only time will tell as you take a step in the heartache, the love, and the life of Meghan Summer. This is one story you won't want to miss.
This book was incredible.I already loved Meg but I fell in love with Nick fast! I was looking forward to this book but I was also sad because I knew it was going to be the hardest to read and was the last book in the series. This book was full of every emotion and I thought I was going to make it through without crying but NO she got me and I was a mess. Luckily, Lacey always has a way of adding humor and it balances out. This was a beautiful love story about starting over and learning to love again. I can't even steal Nick because he was perfect for Meg and he had me swooning and smiling! I loved the build up to their relationship and the chemistry was amazing! This is definitely one of my favorite series's ever and one I could read over and over again because most of the time I am laughing my butt off while swooning over these couples!
I have been in love with this series since the first book. Every sister's story was filled with emotion, and so much more. But I really wanted to read Meghan's story, especially after what happened to her. And I wasn't disappointed, I loved every minute of this book. I loved that this story started out with Meghan and Nick being friends, and that when Meghan lost her fiancé Nick was a friend to her and never pushed her towards anything. All he did was just be her friend, until she was ready for more. Meghan went through heartbreak when her fiancé died in a car accident about 3 years ago and she is struggling. Struggling to move on with her life, until she went to a self-defence class where her boss was the instructor and she sort of lost it. But after that it seemed like she was finally ready to let go of Josh and move on with her life. And it wasn't anything to do with the fact that her boss and friend has been making her feel things that she didn't want to feel right then. Everything about this story and series was sweet, loving, family, romance, lust, chemistry and most of all laughter and coming together as a family. Meghan and Nick was so good together and they I loved the chemistry between them. I loved the grandparents they make me LOL every single time. This series I will recommend every time to anyone who loves Romance with a little bit of heartbreak into it.
A beautifully sweet & emotional read! I both loved & hated this story. I am never ready for a series, especially one as fantastic as this! The Summer sisters are funny, crazy, sassy, & all around spirited. The emotional roller coaster this whole series has taken us on was nothing compared to this book. Meghan is so broken, yet envious of what her sisters have found. The heartache she has suffered makes it hard to fully live. Lacey does a great job writing Meghan’s pain & her fight to move on. I loved Josh & was so hurt with his death, but Nick made me fall in love with him just the same. I highly recommend this book & the complete series!! I also recommend having tissues & be prepared to laugh as much or more than u cry!!!
Okay my heart teared up when we lost Josh in the previous book and Meghan so in pain. That is how good Lacey Black is to make a character so memorable they follow you in the beyond. They were high school sweethearts and seeing Meghan so brokenhearted crushed me. Then we have Nick who in a way is exactly what Meghan needs to feel alive again. Lacey created such a kind, beautiful and sweet woman like Meghan it is easy to love her. Now Nick, good Lord is he is one patient man for Meghan. Together these two are great and the love he has for him is more than what she ever felt before. Loved it.
"I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own."
My Kinda Forever is book #6 in the Summer Sisters Series. I've loved all the books, but I think this one is my favorite of the series. Meghan is the focus of this book, and Lacey did such an amazing job hitting all the emotions. Your heart broke for Meghan, and everything she's been through. She has all the love and support from her family, including those wacky inappropriate grandparents that make everyone blush and laugh out loud!! Meghan works for dentist Nicholas Adams as a dental hygenist, and they are also friends, but could they be more?? It was really nice seeing the family dynamic again, and getting some surprises from some of the other sisters, even dad Brian has more of a roll in this book, and a surprise of his own!! Lacey has so much talent, and I have loved every book I've read from her, so of course I am recommending not only this book, but the whole series!! Thank you Lacey for giving us these awesome characters and stories, I look forward to whatever comes next
I cryed from book one I laughed so hard I cryed from book one. You ripped me open. You made me fall in love over and over again. I feel like i was apart of this Crazy family. You said youd make it better and you did oh how you did but you make me cry again too. This story is bitter sweet theres no word for how your going to feel. You will deffenely need wine, chocolate and tissues thats for sure. This was such an amazingly well written story you don't wanna skip this one I promise youll love it.
Amazing story! 5+++++ stars for Lacey!! Follow the story of Meghan as she navigates trying to get over her lost love and move on! Enter in her boss Dr Nick DDS, he's been her go to friend for everything since Josh passed away. Can she move on from her first love and let a new love in, or will she continue to live in her safe sheltered life where love can't find her. Make sure you have tissues for this one, its a ugly cry story, but also be prepared for Emma & Orval and their shenanigans through out this book! Grab this and enjoy!
WOW! What an emotional roller coaster! AMAZING BOOK!!!
I laughed, I felt, I cried all throughout this book. What a journey these 6 sisters have been on to find love and happiness.
Meghan has been through one of the most traumatic things a person can ever go through in life. Losing her love, Josh, was something Meghan did not think she would ever be able to move on from.
Nick saw their love, he saw the broken girl after Josh died, he just wanted to be there for Meghan and help anyway he could. He became a friend and soon enough he was someone she leaned on and got strength from to help her.
It was a rocky road from time to time, but their love persevered and they came out on top. The love they found in one another was meant for forever.
I LOVED THIS SERIES!!! Lacey Black knew how to grasp a readers attention right from the beginning to keep them enthralled in the story. Let's not forget Emma and Orval - the world's most inappropriate, but hilarious grandparents. Even when you had tears, Lacey managed to put some laughter into the mix with these two!
So excited there is a novella after this, I can't wait!!! :)
Lacey Black is one of my favorite people. She took a chance and sent me arcs for most of this series and for that and many, many other reasons I will be forever grateful for her. I love her, her books, her series’, her characters and her worlds. She has filled my heart!
This was a perfect conclusion to the Summer Sisters series and what a way to end it. Meghan got her happily ever “forever” and it was perfect! Nick was amazing and couldn’t of been more perfect for Meghan. You did her well, Lacey!
If you have not picked up this series, you need to go right now and buy them all. Yes, they are so beyond worth it. And when you are done with those, buy her other books because they are just as good! You won’t be sorry!
From laughter to tears, this book covers it all. We've followed Meghan throughout the other books in this series and have patiently waited for her story. Lacey saved the best for last... After Meghan tragically lost her fiance in a previous book, I was unsure as to how Lacey would redeem herself from that gut wrenching plot twist, but she did it (by leaps and bounds I might add)!! Meghan and Nick's story was sweet and heart wrenching at the same time as you watch Nick fight the trials and tribulations of loving a person who is grieving and trying to find a way to move on and live and love. You also see what's still going on with the rest of the sisters as well as their dad and their ornery up to no good grandparents. This story wrapped up the series nicely. I'm still holding out hope that there will be an Emma and Orvil book in the works :)
Oh man, what I can I say. I absolutely loved this book. Lacey truly hit us in the feels with this one. My heart truly hurt for Megan. She wasn't living after Adam's death she was just going through the motions. Nick had become her person she could talk to. What starts out as friendship develops into more than that. Nick is such a great guy. Megan and Nick truly are so perfect for each other. But when Nick tells Megan how he feels Megan has difficulty with it.
I loved the grandparents in this one. They are so dang hysterical. I am sad to see this series end but this was the perfect ending.
I was not ready to say goodbye to these sisters before I started, but as I finished this last book I could not have imagined a better ending. After so much heartbreak and loss, Meghan finally got her story and found her love again. Lacey did and amazing job of healing not only Meghan but the hearts of readers who have been along the journey with this family. But we're not quite done with this family quite yet....can't wait for the upcoming novella.
Lacey has given us another AMAZING series with characters we fell in love with! The Summer Sisters Series finished with Megan's AWESOME story filled with a journey to accept the love that she deserves!
Meghan Summer’s future was stripped away from her the night she lost her fiance Josh. While she puts on a smile for everyone around her and is surrounded by her family and friends, there is a huge hole where Josh and her future should be. She’s become a real pro at faking it, but one man seems to be able to see through the walls she has built up.
Nick Adam’s shouldn’t want Meghan the way that he does. He’s her boss and friend. He’s the one she calls when she needs to escape her family because she can no longer put on a brave face. He understands just how important his friendship is to Meg, but he can’t help but to want more . . . unfortunately, even though two years have gone by, Nick isn’t sure if Meghan will ever be able to move on.
As their friendship starts being something more, can Nick take things slow enough to give Meghan the time she needs, and can Meghan trust that not everyone she loves will leave her? Can you really love again when you’ve already lost the love of your life or is more heartbreak in the cards for both Nick and Meghan?
While I’ve truly enjoyed all of the Summer sisters’ romances, I’ve been waiting for Meghan to finally get her happy ever after. Lacey Black led me on a roller coaster of emotions as Meg’s story was completely heartbreaking as well as beautiful and full of hope and second chances.
Meghan has been put through the emotional wringer, having lost her mother at a young age and her fiance in a car accident. She really doesn’t know how to move on, but is a people pleaser and really fakes it to keep everyone happy. She stays busy with activities and friends so she doesn’t have to be alone in her home with nothing but her memories. And, when things get too tough, she leans on Nick.
Nick is everything and more in this book. He is an amazing friend to Meghan and is her emotional rock. But he can’t help his attraction to her and definitely can’t help but to fall in love with the woman who is beautiful inside and out. My heart breaks for both of them at times in this book, because Nick really is competing with a ghost . . .one he is more than willing to share Meg’s heart with if she can only find a way to open it again.
This story is gorgeous in so many ways. I also loved catching up with all of the sisters as well as Orville and Emma, who are still the world’s most inappropriate grandparents adding a never ending comedic element that will leave you laughing out loud. I also loved the bonus storyline of Brian, dad to all of these crazy sisters as he finds his second chance at romance as well.
This book had me gasping for air laughing, grabbing tissues as I cried and smiling as Meg finally opens herself to a second chance at living and loving life. 5 stars!
If you haven’t read the whole series this contains spoilers ..... I suggest you go start it now !!! You won’t be sorry. I never want this series to come to an end. I love this family. My heart has broke for Meghan since My Kinda Night, it’s never easy to read about death, especially someone as amazing as Josh was. I knew Lacey would heal my heart tho. I knew she would give Meghan the ending she deserved. Meghan is special you can’t help but love her. Nick was just who she needed to help her heal. To help her come to terms with what she was dealt. He is one in a million. The patience, the strength, the love, the understanding, even tho it broke his heart at times he was there being her rock, being everything she needed. Sometimes we’re blessed with two loves of our lives. One who is only meant to be there for awhile, then the one who is meant to be there forever. It’s not an easy journey, in fact I was a mess most of this book but Lacey healed all my broken pieces. If you loose someone in death, that doesn’t mean you stop living, that doesn’t mean you have to be alone for the rest of your life. There is healing and there is hope ....
