Librarian Note: This is an alternate cover edition of ISBN: 9781948095006. The original cover edition is here.

No one will tell Eva and Frost the truth about the Blurred Ones. Not their hunter friend, and definitely not the parentals. Maybe it’s because Frost spent time in a psychiatric ward and Eva never ceases to think with her hormones. So, when the girls see an opportunity to meet Albert Knox, the most infamous Blurred One of all, they lie about their true plans and head out on their field trip to San Antonio.

When the sisters get to town, though, a ghost woman keeps attacking them in their hotel room, and they end up getting one of their classmates killed. Eva thinks she can use her feminine wiles to woo Knox, but he has a couple of more minions than they thought—and she ends up getting tossed through the window. If the sisters and their newfound hunter friends don’t take down Knox soon, he’ll permanently attach himself to Eva in a binding ritual.

Calling all Supernatural (TV Show) fans! You have to check out this amazing series. It took me 2 days to read this book but only because I had to sleep and work. Hush, Now Forget is such a fast paced story that incorporates high school, family drama, romance, ghosts, demons, angels, and hunters into a thrilling page turner! It blends mystery and spookiness flawlessly. And the title is freaking brilliant! You'll get it once you read it. I cannot wait to dive into Book 2!

Buckle in because this is going to be quite the ride.
Hush, Now Forget was an interesting book. It pushed against some of my usual guidelines but because it's a 'Christian' book... I'm going to let that slide. I guess I should explain that a bit, though.
So I liked the writing. Mary Gray and Cammie Larsen make a great team and I thoroughly enjoyed the story... for the most part. Their characters are real, their settings are cool, and their plot is well paced.
That said I have a few issues with this book.
First of all: the romance. So if you read the synopsis you can clearly tell that this book has a lot of romance. Because it's written by Christians I was hoping to get some good Christian romance and some talk on what relationships would be. Instead it was a lot of chasing hot guys and talking about kissing random people and how the one girl has kissed every eligible guy in her town. That's not what I wanted because that's what every secular romance is. I was hoping this would go deeper.
Second of all: The abusive relationship. I wanted to kill the dad because of the way he treated his daughters and the fact that they let him do that and said that he did it because he loved them was not okay. I understand him having rules but he acted like a five year old, constantly whining, expecting attention and love through his horrible actions, and making degrading jokes.
Third: Obviously I walked right into this but the demonic stuff in this book is a little over the top. Again... because it's coming from a Christian publisher I hoped there would be more 'God controls demons' and stuff like that but they're using pentagrams and chanting in Latin... which is usually where I would stop a series and decide not to continue. I'm going to read through this whole series, though, and hope that it does get better because I love the tone and it is a lot of fun...

Let me begin by saying how brilliant the title is. I knew I was in for a GREAT read as soon as I saw the title. Love it! And of course I was right! I fell in love with this book and the characters instantly. They are relatable and hilarious. Gray and Larsen (the authors) are great at creating imagery which makes the reader feel like they are right in the story. The story keeps you on your toes and wanting more! So hard to put it down once you’ve picked it up. I CANT WAIT until this book is made into a movie! Annnd I can’t wait for the second book! Love those Abraham sisters so much!

I'm a guy and I loved this book. The sisters are realistic, relateable, and entertaining, and they guys were pretty awesome too. Parts made me laugh out loud, and other parts were really creepy. It's very different from Supernatural, but has enough similarities to enjoy. You can tell the writers are fans of the show.
Also, I appreciated that it was clean but still exciting. Looking forward to book #2!

I can’t believe I read and finished this book. It was a painful read for me, but a friend asked me to read it and give her my honest opinion about it. Well, my honest opinion is that it was one of the most dreadful, boring, confusing, and disturbing books I have ever read. It did make me laugh, a lot, though, but not because it was funny, because it was ridiculous.

I love supernatural, I think that it is a fascinating. However, it is a genre that if not written properly becomes cheesy very quickly. This is one of the unfortunate books that falls under that unfortunate category.

Frost and Eva are two teenage sisters stuck in a redneck world that they do not belong in (they make it very clear they are better than all them rednecks), and their life is full of these mysterious beings, the Blurred Ones, that they know little to nothing about. The story jumps right in to a conversation between the sisters and their pseudo-aunt Maggie. Eva sits in the backseat hiding the weapons that their aunt has packed for them to take on their school field trip to San Antonio. This first seen actually seems intriguing and gets the reader saying “hmm, I wonder why the aunt is loading these young girls up with so many weapons, this could be interesting”. It really makes these girls seem bada** to be loaded with so many weapons. Well, by chapter two it is anything but interesting. I cringed at the way these two girls, especially Eva, talked. All I kept thinking was “the only people that talk like this are silly tweens who act like they are more grown up than they are”. Nothing about these characters were relatable or realistic after chapter two, and as bada** as the acted, they were really just damsels in distress. Soon the “hottie hunters” are introduced and again, there is nothing relatable or realistic about them. The first scene in which they are introduced left me saying “this would NEVER happen”. The best supernatural stories keep things as realistic as possible, this story just simply doesn’t. Not even the field trip and teacher are realistic (who takes a bunch of teenagers on a field trip with no chaperones and what kind of adults abandon kids in another state when a student goes missing?!)

On top of the strange characters, the story just didn’t seem to come together, at least not until the very end when it seemed rushed. This is a very wordy book, and yet it lacks so much detail. It is easy for me to see a scene in my head, but this story lacked so much description that not much formed. Many of these chapters could have been taken out and the reader wouldn’t be missing much. When it finally came time to figure out what the “Blurred Ones” are, the story is confusing and again, lacks detail. It left me with more questions than I had answered. Every action scene seemed to have either missing or contradicting information. One girl was here and then all of a sudden she was there and the bad guy was here and then he was doing this and his minions were doing this and then the hottie hunters appeared and this girl had somehow moved again. See, confusing.  I had to read the final fight scene twice to try and figure out what was going on, and I still don’t think I understand. It just didn’t add up. There was too much going on without enough explanation.

*Spolier alert*

What really disturbed me the most was the scene in which the sisters kill their father. After cutting off his arms and taking an axe to his back, they say they love him even though he wasn’t that great of a guy, and this was so hard on them. Then they just pick up his body parts and bury him like its nothing! NO, NO, NO! The only teenage girls, the only people, that could do this are seriously mentally disturbed, and these girls aren’t. These girls are supposed to be sweet and innocent, and yet they can just chop of their fathers arms and kill him and then pick up his pieces like it is nothing? No crazy hysterical cries, no shock, just “oh let’s bury him and have our aunt lie about how he died to the cops because they are used to her experiencing weird things and covering them up”. The dad was strict, and he had a rough part to him, but the girls seemed to love him and they experienced some good times with him, so it just does not make sense why they would act like its nothing to kill and bury him.

I did not want to finish this book, I had pretty much given up by chapter four, but had promised I would give my friend an honest review. So after over a month (the longest it has ever taken me to read a book) of cringing every time I opened the book, I was happy to just be finished with it. I would never recommend this book to someone, not even tweens who would likely relate the most to this story. It was dry, confusing, disturbing, unrealistic, and boring. It had so much potential, but it was just not executed well at all. I will not be reading the sequel.

A brilliant, thrilling, suspenseful mystery. The teen sisters, Frost and Eva, are ready for adventure, but possibly willing to risk too much. We are privy to their thoughts and conversations, and are pulled into the story because they are so likeable, playful, and loyal. When the handsome guys show up, the story becomes all the more intense and exciting, and the chemistry with the sisters is electric. Trying to figure out how to solve the mystery, keeps the reader captivated from beginning to end. Who are the true heroes and at what cost? Also, as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, it is my view that this book could be therapeutic to those with a personality disordered parent.

Fun YA twist to the Supernatural world. I loved the story of the Blurred Ones. Hush, Now Forget might not make sense now, but it will, I really enjoyed the AH HAH moment. The relationship these sisters have is strong, yet you can tell they are still young. Being young added to the laugh factor. I can't wait to read more.

Eva and Frost Abrams were sisters, partners in crime, magnets for the supernatural. They knew about ghosts, ghouls, paranormals, but weren't exactly expert with hunting nor were they fully informed about The Blurred Ones. Their parents were tight-lipped about this matter, but they got their support from their pseudo-aunt hunter friend, Maggie. A school trip to the Alamo in San Antonio got them really excited, hoping to catch a glimpse of the ghost of the infamous Albert Knox, but got more than what they'd bargained for. A ghost of a woman with chopped body parts led them to a tandem of male hunters, Raylan and Leo, only for Frost to discover that her imaginary friend had come alive.

Fans of Sam and Dean Winchester will definitely get a kick out of this book, Hush, Now Forget by Mary Gray and Cammie Larsen. I was most definitely thrilled when I started reading this story as my interest with supernaturals and phantom spirits heightened during Halloween week. Now, I could hush and blush and shush, but would never forget how beautiful, exciting and thrilling this book had been.

Frost Abrams is the long-lost sister I never had, this woman would do everything and anything to make sure her sister Eva wouldn't fall into the hands of the evil one. Even to the point where she had to kill someone she really had loved; ouch man, that was really heartbreaking. I couldn't say the same thing about Eva, though. The wild free-spirited sometimes annoying sister who always threw herself to the boy she liked. I know, I know, I was being judgmental and all that, but in the end, Eva finally crawled her way to my heart. She's so lucky to have Frost by her side. And Maggie, too!

The boys, Rayland and Leo, were definitely a big surprise. Leo really got me hooked, his bond with Frost was something that had me hanging on till the end. The future looks a little dark and bleak and mysterious for this Latin-speaking hunter, but I am definitely watching out for him on the next books.

Hush, Now Forget is an unforgettable terrific story about hunters, lovers, family, friends, ghosts and blurred ones. A perfect read for thrill-seekers and mystery solvers. Mary Gray and Cammie Larsen got a gem on their hands and I can't wait to read more of their books!

"Hush, Now Forget" by Mary Gray and Cammie Larsen

Forget Batman and Robin! This dynamic duo will blow your mind! Mary Gray and Cammie Larsen teamed up to write this chilling novel. The story is about two sisters living in Bloodcreek. Their curiosity about the Blurred Ones distracts them throughout their field trip to San Antonio with their Spanish class. Fortunately for Frost and Eva, two extremely attractive hunters are there to catch the worst Blurred One of them all: Albert Knox. Curiosity turns to terror when Knox becomes smitten with Eva. The four young adults quickly find they chose the wrong Blurred One to target for extinction. The phrase Curiosity killed the cat becomes all too real for them.

This story was eerily captivating. The authors have great skill for creating a haunting mood that seeps into your bones. I felt like I was actually there, experiencing the anxiety and fear along with the sisters.

Frost and Eva were extremely likable, as were Raylan and Leo. They made a great team, although they were in way over their heads. The love between the sisters was touching. They were willing to sacrifice themselves for each other. Unfortunately, Knox used this love for his advantage. All he had to do was threaten one girl to get the other to comply. He made the perfect villain.

This dark tale will have you jumping at shadows. I don't recommend it as a bedtime story! But I do highly recommend you read it!

Let me just start by saying, I typically get hooked on a book by the cover (I know, you are not supposed to do that). But this book hooked me from the very start because it was so well constructed.
This book is a must read for all fans of the supernatural/paranormal world. Not only are the authors super talented, but they created a story that will suck you in as if you are right there beside the main character and that is so hard to do! Once you start reading this book you will not want to put it down even for a minute, so begin reading this book only when you have a cleared schedule. It is that good! I cannot wait to share the news of this book with my teen book club, because I know that they will be so excited to have a new book by Mary Gray! Here is to anticipating book #2!

“For a moment, I have crickets for thoughts. How can he play so cool with everything going on? Fine. I’m cool as a cucumber, too. Cool girl. This ain’t no thing.”

“Frost talks like her soul is ripping slowly—under the hands of a torturer with a carving knife, taking his time, letting each tiny space of flesh feel its very own pain.”

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Hush, Now Forget is the perfect blend of mystery and spook. I loved the sisterly banter and conversational writing. With ghostly legends, mystery, heartbreak, murder, and possession—this book will keep you flipping the pages desperate to find out what happens next. And I LOVED the story behind the title in Chapter 33! 🖤 Mary and Cammie are a talented duo. Can’t wait for Book #2!

**Review originally posted on My Fangirl Chronicles**

Thank you to the authors for providing me with an e-book copy for an honest review.

As a huge Supernatural fan, I really wanted to like this, but, unfortunately, did not.

First, let's go over the parts of the book that I did enjoy. I thought the lore behind the spirits and Blurred Ones was fascinating, especially when it was explained how people are born and why these particularly evil and corrupted spirits attack humans. I enjoyed the nod to Supernatural with the concept of hunters, the weapons, and similar methods they used to eradicate/hurt ghosts and other supernatural creatures. There were also a few plot twists that I was not expecting and really piqued my interest momentarily, such as discovering the truth behind Leo and his connection to Frost. But that's as far as my enjoyment of the book went, I'm afraid.

I was so confused in the beginning and didn't understand what the whole point was behind Frost and Eva's plan to find Knox, the "most infamous Blurred One of all". If they wanted answers and wanted to learn more about the Blurred Ones (I don't really like referring to them as that name, to be completely honest because it sounds silly), why did they need to go as far as putting themselves at risk by provoking one? What was wrong with poking around their hunter friend Maggie's books until they found answers? If not her then somehow find another scholarly way to search for answers, like the school library - which actually proves to be more than useful later - because tracking down Knox just seemed like a stupid and suicidal mission from the start. There wasn't enough at stake for them to go through such drastic measures right off the bat. What did they think Knox was going to do, sit them down and lecture them on the Blurred Ones 101? Ridiculous.

There was also a lot of awkward writing. At first I thought that maybe it was just because of the characters' way of speaking, but nope, it was the writing. There were several instances where I felt that the character reacted to something in a very unusual way, and that caused me to backtrack and ruined my immersion in the story. It also could have used more editing and polishing because I found several minor typos in the second half of the book.

I also really couldn't relate to any of the characters, and didn't find any of them particularly endearing or amusing in the least. It's worth mentioning that I really disliked the father, specifically, because he was abusive and it was frustrating that his wife and daughters allowed him to get away with being that way. They just excused or ignored his behavior and that drove me crazy! I think one of the major reasons why I didn't connect with anyone in this book is also due to our vast cultural differences - all these characters have a strong conservative rural Southern background whilst I, on the other hand, am probably the complete opposite, being a city girl raised in California.

Overall, the few things that I enjoyed about Hush, Now Forget wasn't enough to help me enjoy the rest of the book. Halfway through it started to feel like a chore reading and I struggled to finish it. At the end I didn't feel satisfied that I just read a good book and instead felt relieved that it was finally over. This book just wasn't for me and so, unfortunately, I don't recommend it at all.

Review

A book that had my entire attention focused on it that I literally just let my 7 currently reading other books to lie and finished this in a day! And only moms know how much of a HUGE achievement that is with an active toddler.

Anyway...

Our MC's are Frosty and Eva who are sisters and are two totally different persons, one loves playing the piano and the other loves heavy metal, one is serene and the other can't take a silent moment. I loved their dynamic and their love and curiosity for the unknown. They want to know more about the Blurred Ones and the scariest of em all is Knox and they're on the hunt until they become the hunted! Leonardo and Raylan come to their rescue but seems like Frosty's hiding something and so is Leo, Eva is in love and Raylan is just a ball of frustrating emotions, will they unite to take down Knox or will Knox take them down now that he know their weakness because of the Disparity? Read to find out!!

Woah what a ride I'm reading book 3 as I write the review for this amazing book because I finished book 2 immediately after finishing book 1 and I'm reading book 3 because I NEED ANSWERS!!!
This book was a whole new level of amazingness that other books don't have because it had the horror, the gore, the bloodshed, the mystery, the fantasy, the romance, the possession, the murder and heart breaks. The plot was brilliantly set, the pace is steady but fast where it's necessary, the characters are well written, the dual POV fills the gaps nicely, the word building is amazing, the cover is pure perfection, the title makes sense as the pages turns and the relevance is mind blowing!!! Overall a book that I'd definitely re read again, and again... And again!

🌺My Review🌺
Can I just say.. Woah!
Eva and her sister Frost want more adventure, they want to find answers. What are the Blurred Ones?
Two hottie hunters are met along the way and they bring drama with them.
~
I absolutely loved Eva's and Frost's relationship. Their bonds are strong and genuine. They care for each other greatly and can tell what the other is feeling no matter what. Eva is more outgoing while Frost is more preserved. In that way, I can relate to Frost😂
~
I also loved the twists in this book, although you were expecting something to happen... what actually happens leaves you shocked.
The adventure is thrilling and exasperating. You are brought along on a rollercoaster of mystery and intruige, all the while wondering how can this happen? How on earth did the authors come up with such a plot!?
~
The ending had me in tears and I cannot wait to tear into Sleep, Don't Fret!! I am looking forward to more Eva and Frost and the drama and adventure they bring!
Trust me when I say READ THIS!! 🤩

I received a copy of this book directly from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I almost gave Hush, Now Forget by Mary Gray 3 stars. Almost. Here's the problem, I think the book tried a little too hard, and as a consequence, shot itself in the foot.

The book felt like it started mid-story, which was a bit disorienting. The reader isn't brought into the heavy world-building gradually, but all at once. As a consequence, I felt like I'd missed something, and it took a while to orient myself to what was going on.

Aside from this, the worldbuilding, while interesting, and a bit familiar in the way of Supernatural, was a bit overdone. It slid so far from "normal" with the egregious amount of small-town-hick references, that it didn't feel real anymore. Part of this can be attributed to the author's major problem: they have a penchant for latching onto a point, and then driving that point into the ground with repetition.

I could have pushed further into the book, it wasn't awful, but honestly, I didn't want to - not if the rest of the book followed this pattern. At about 5 % in, I got bored. There will be people out there that enjoy this book a lot more than I did, and I encourage you to give it a try because I do think it has an interesting plot- it just wasn't for me personally.

Eva and Frost give us a dual view of the horrors of their world, beginning at Bloodcreek but expanding to include the world of the previously unseen. This story is filled with the excitement of spirit hunting and first love. It takes us through a heart-rending family life and into an underground society that keeps the blood pumping and the mind whirling. The first-person accounts of the adventures of these two teens is thrilling, frightening, and full of adventure whether they want to participate or not. With their friends Leo and Raylan, they may just survive.

I thought it moved a little slow in places from the beginning, but once it got into the meat of the story, it was non-stop action and terrifying adventure. It held my attention and had me on the edge of my seat. With some biblical references and a swirl of the paranormal, it was definitely unique and left me wondering what happens next as these young women mature.

*I was given a copy of this book to be honestly reviewed*

I got off to a rocky start with this book. The writing is good, and the plot is good, but holy stereotyping rednecks, Batman! That rubbed me the wrong way lol. It lightened up on that further in, though, I was able to get more into it.

I really loved the way this author told her story of ghosts and demons, and the mythology she created behind it all. The bond between the sisters felt genuine and just seemed natural to me, and it really helped the flow of the story feel natural, as well. I loved the characters, Frost especially, and I felt heartbroken right along with her. I really hope we see Leo again soon, as I fully intend to read the next installation.

If you're into paranormal books, ghosts and demons, I would definitely recommend this.

This was an interesting story. I really, really wanted to love the story but the over descriptions and just how long it took for anything to happen really took the joy out of it for me. At one point it took SIX pages to walk into another room. I adored the storyline, it is unique, interesting, and a fabulous take/twist on the supernatural genre, but just the sheer wordiness took a lot of steam out of the story. It is also VERY similar to the show Supernatural, almost seems a mishmash of several episodes. So, thank you for the opportunity to review this work, but alas this one isn't for me.

TW : Gore, violence, abuse

💭 : A great choice for all the paranormal and supernatural fans.
Well paced and well written. The authors have managed to bring some depth to each of the characters and the plot. A real nice blend of family drama, high school drama, romance, mystery, spookiness, demons, ghosts and hunters.
This just might be the change you have been looking for. I know it was for me.
Just make sure you to check the trigger warnings. Some things can be a little too dark for your taste.
I really enjoyed this one.

Alternating from two viewpoints of two sisters, this book was better than I expected. It's very suspense and story driven. I liked the humor. It was slow in places but not to the point that it messed up the story. I could read another book in this series.

My copy came from Net Galley. My review is my own, left of my own free will.

If you like Supernatural, sister books, and fresh takes on mythology, this is your series! I co-wrote it with my sister AND it’s about sisters, each writing from her own POV. We pulled a ton from our real lives to flesh out these stories and sprinkled in our fair share of monsters and boys.

I loved this book and the storyline, but there were some things that kept me from giving five stars. First, there were some small typos, and the sentence structure could be awkward or repetitive. Also, I admittedly found the beginning to be somewhat slow. There just wasn't a lot of new information being presented quickly enough, I guess. But when things started to pick up and we start learning more and more, and as the action starts to speed up, I became very invested in the story and didn't want to put the book down. I've seen other reviews that say it's very similar to the show "Supernatural," so if you like the show I'd likely recommend it, but I haven't ever watched it so I can't speak to that similarity. Overall, I found the characters, plot, and lore very interesting, and I think it's a book worth reading.

I LOOOVE sibling stories (me and my sibs are super close), so the premise of Hush, Now Forget immediately intrigued me, and it didn't disappoint! I really enjoyed Frost and Eva's relationship and how each of them maintained a unique, fun, engaging voice throughout the whole book. They're so funny and natural! I also really loved Maggie.

I'm a girl who loves her scary scenes, and BOY, were there some good ones in here! Especially the ghost girl in the hotel. 😁

For someone who doesn't read a ton of YA, this book was fantastic! Definitely for fans of sister stories, scary awesome ghosts, and the Bad Girls Don't Die trilogy.
