Blaine Zuckerman:

My plan was simple.

Retreat to Hope Falls for the summer, seclude myself in one of the many picturesque mountain homes and study for the test that had kept me from advancing my career.

No distractions. No interruptions.

I should’ve known fate would have its own agenda.

All it took was a few sarcastic comments from my temporary roommate and one coy peek over her shoulder to make me feel again.

And now all my carefully laid out plans had been shot to hell.

Kimi Flores

Kimi lives in Southern California with her husband (who happened to be her prom date back in 19), their two sons, a rambunctious fur child, and three bearded dragons.

When she's not reading, writing, or hanging out with family and friends, Kimi spends her time at the beach, trail hiking, or in the kitchen, trying to create plant-based meals that don't taste like, well, tofu.

Kimi's writing includes heartfelt contemporary (fade-to-black/closed-door) romance novels. She is currently working on several laugh-out-loud, sweet romantic comedies.

Volunteering is extremely important to her, and she and her family work closely with several local non-profit organizations, including Saving Innocence and Young Life. A portion of her sales will always go to charity.

Cute and fun

Cute, fun, easy read. Characters are relatable. First book I've read where one character has Fibromyalgia. Haven't seen that until now and I know how horrible it is.

Beautiful

This is a wonderful continuation of the area of Hope Falls with characters from the other and new one. And a lot of happily ever after.

I liked the characters. I think it was a great story. I did find it easy to put down and never emotionally connected with the book.

Copy received for an honest and unbiased review

I have been on the Kimi Flores book journey since It All Started With A Lima Bean, and I impatiently await every new release.

Unexpected Promises is a great little novella, full of sweet, adorable characters who I couldn't help but fall in love with.

The wit, the banter, the snark (especially from Andie) left me with a big ol' smile on my dial. They are both such strong characters, but full of vulnerabilities that make them feel more real.

Find yourself a nice cool (or warm if you are up north) spot, grab a cuppa and settle in for a couple of hours of pure enjoyment.

What a great introduction to Kimi Flores' books. I have become addicted to Hope Falls. And it just got even better with Unexpected Promises. This a cute sweet little romance but it definitely has a few hiccups along the way before reaching the HEA we all want in the end.

I just loved Andie and Blaine. Blaine gave up getting his physicians license to take care of his alcoholic sister and his nephew. His sister has passed away and he has now come to Hope Falls to study for his medical licensing test. The bed and breakfast he was going to stay at is overbooked so they put him up at Andit's house next door.
Andie has a medical condition that makes moving around difficult sometimes. Kimi Flores did an outstanding job writing about this condition. I have the condition and all of the symptoms Andie experienced so have I and many more. The condition is secondary to Andie's character. She is a jeweler who works from home and also sells at craft fairs.
Blaine and Andie have undeniable chemistry. This is a very sweet romance. I couldn't put the book down, I was just so involved in the two characters.

I loved Andie and Blaine's story! It was beautifully written and heartfelt! Blaine's back story was so sad, and Kimi wrote it beautifully!!! I loved how kind and genuine Blaine was with Andie especially when he discovered a medical condition she suffered from. This has to be on of my favorite books Kimi has written!!!! LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am such a fan of Kimi Flores, I love the realistic feeling she brings to her contemporary romance story lines and characters. She did not let me down with Unexpected Promises and to be honest, I wanted more and did not want this story to end.

In Unexpected Promises ( A Hope Falls Novella) we have Blaine Zuckerman who finds himself in a roommate situation. The last thing he needed was a distraction to keep him from studying but how could his mind not wander to the beautiful sarcastic woman that has allowed him to take up space in her home. Falling in love with Blaine is not hard and losing yourself to Andie Sommerville is even easier. These characters are strong but have a past that had my heart feeling heavy at times. I laughed, teared up and fell in love with this beautifully written story. 5 from the bottom of my heart stars.

I loved Andie & Blaine's relationship!!

Blaine just needed a quiet place to stay to study for the MCAT, but what he got instead was a sarcastic roommate named Andie!

A great story of friendship that turns into a great relationship. I highly recommend to anyone who loves stories where friends who turn into so much more!

This is my fifth book that I have read by Kimi Flores and she never disappoints!!

Love this book

Blaine and Andi are so cute together. Blaine comes to Hope Falls to get away. Andi comes home and Blaine is staying at her place. They click. Both are at different places in life but enjoy each other's company. When he leaves, the emotions kick in. Love the road of love for them. They are so cute. Love this town also.

I always LOVE LOVE LOVE a feel good romance. Kimi Flores didn't disappoint with Unexpected Promises. Reading this novella has definitely makes me want to read more of the books in this series. And it was nice to read a book with a character fighting a disease I fight with every day of my life.

So good!

I loved this fast-paced novella! Blaine is adorable in his pursuit of Andie. Andie is the perfect amount of sassy and kindness-- I want to be her friend! Great to visit with other Hope Falls friends too!

DNF. The MCAT is a test you take to get into med school. Someone who has completed med school and their residency would be trying to become licensed or board certified, maybe, but NOT studying for the MCAT.
