I enjoyed this romance except it had too much sexual content for my liking. I voluntarily chose to review this. I gave it a 4* rating. This is not for the under 18 readers. In a way this was a second chance at love romance. There was a lot of action in this story and it was evolved around cyber hacking. There were a few interesting bits but not overly so.

The Omega Team: The Lighthouse (Kindle Worlds Novella) (The SARICH BROTHERS series Book 1) by Jen Talty is a great read! This is the story of Logan Sarich, the eldest of four brothers, former Army Special Forces, now an operative for the Omega Team out of Florida, and Mia Vanderlin, Logan's high school sweetheart, now an ethical hacker who runs a computer security firm with her twin brother Markus.
Mia is a refreshing heroine in that she was a beautiful, highly intelligent woman who had been socially awkward until she and Logan started dating their senior year. Logan was a promising pitcher and had a baseball scholarship to college, and Mia had plans to pursue computer science. So, as happy as they were together, they mutually agreed to go their separate ways with no professions of love or plans for the future, as neither wanted to hold the other back from pursuing their dreams. Logan's future didn't go exactly as planned and he ended up in the Army, while Mia graduated from college and started a company with her brother.
The story opens with Logan getting a surprise protective duty assignment. The last time he saw Mia, her father caught them in a very compromising situation, so Logan is shocked to be given this assignment.
What follows is a great novella full of romance, suspense, and intrigue, as Logan and Omega's IT specialist, Mia, Markus, Logan's brothers and friends work to keep Mia safe and discover who is trying to ruin her reputation and threatening her life.
Logan is a great hero, in that he is a strong, confident, combat experienced operative but still humble enough to be intimidated by Mr. Vanderlin. I really enjoyed the often humorous interactions between the two men. And I liked the importance of family in this story, as Logan’s brothers come to back him up without question.
I also liked the parallel of restlessness in Logan’s and Mia's lives. Each has been doing what they thought they should be doing, but missing some undetermined piece to make their lives feel complete. I truly enjoyed following these two through their trials and tribulations, with some nudging from their very wise parents, as they both grew to realize what was missing in their lives while solving a mystery and dodging danger.
This was my first book by Jen Talty, but it will definitely not be my last. I really enjoyed her writing style. And now I have a new series to get started on by Desiree Holt and the many other authors writing in the Kindle World of her Omega Team. I'm also looking forward to Ms. Talty's next book in the Sarich Brother Series.
I truly enjoyed this book and highly recommend The Lighthouse. It's going on my keeper shelf. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this title.

Logan Sarich has spent his whole life serving his country and protecting people. He went to college, joined the infantry, and moved up to Special Forces. He now works for the Omega Team as an intelligence expert. He has shielded his heart from romantic entanglements and still thinks about the one that got away.
Mia Vanderlin grew up in a wealthy family with her twin brother Markus. She was shy as a teenager and didn't have many friends, preferring instead to immerse herself in her studies. During high school, she had a major crush on Logan and was so excited when he asked her out. They spent all of their time together; she cheered him on at his baseball games, they went swimming, and they visited their special place, the Jupiter Lighthouse. Logan asked Mia to the prom there and it was where they shared their first kiss. When it was time for college, they went their separate ways, but they were always in each others’ thoughts.
Mia and her brother now work as ethical hackers and were hired to do a security check for a company where they found a dangerous computer virus. Logan was hired as a bodyguard to protect Mia and Markus from the person who created the virus. The minute he shows up at her house, sparks start to fly. The old feelings are still there — or maybe they never left.
Can Logan protect Mia from the unknown hackers who are out to ruin her reputation? Will Mia allow Logan to keep her safe, or will her feelings for him get in the way?
"The Lighthouse " is suspenseful and romantic, with characters everyone can relate to. I am looking forward to Jen's next book in the series, "The Last Hope."

I loved all of the drama, suspense, action, and mystery that was wrapped up in a nice love story. Mia and Logan have known each other forever. As a matter of a fact, they 'deflowered' each other back in high school...and got caught. Logan is a part of OMEGA team, which is a group of former Special Forces people that are still helping make the world a safer place. When Mia's life is threatened, OMEGA team is called in. That means Logan is headed back not only to his hometown, but to his first love. Mia and her twin brother Marcus seem to be in the cross hairs of a group of hackers known as STEALTH. They seem to want to ruin the two Vanderlin siblings in a very public way. With Logan on the mission, though, they have their work cut out for them. He and Mia being back together has brought all of those old feelings back to the surface (because they never really went away). I love the passcode to his phone. That is adorable. All of Logan's brothers get in on this one and I can't wait to read their stories!

I love the author's style. The action and suspense are compelling while the humor adds a lightness to the story. It made all of the characters come across as even more real to me. I think it's so amusing that Logan and Mia were so wrapped up in their own little worlds that they didn't even realize how important they were to each other as teenagers. I really appreciated that they didn't try very hard to fight the attraction they still felt for one another and pretty much just went with it. This book gave us a lot of background about the brothers, their hometown, even a little about the Omega Team and did it all seamlessly within the plot. I never felt like I was being told something just because it would become important in a later book - everything felt important to this story. It reads very fast. Once I started, I was hooked and now I can't wait to read the stories of the rest of the Sarich brothers.

This novella was an okay read. I liked the plot and storyline and the characters were interesting. Almost from the first moment H and h are back together, they’re pawing at each other. There is plenty of flirty banter and physical scenes, but no real emotion or feelings written into the story. No real heat.

Plenty of errors throughout the story, mostly spelling errors. It was way short on the proofreading. Markus decided to change his name to Marcus near the end, but thought better of it after a few uses and went back to Markus.

I adored Logan, up until the point where Mia was saying what she thought about something and he cut her off mid-sentence and ‘barked’ at her , “Well stop thinking.” Neither she nor her father standing there took any issue with how he spoke to her. If I had been Mia… well, there likely wouldn’t have been an HEA.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Logan is called in to provide security and almost doesn't take the case when he finds out who he would be protecting until he's told he was requested. Logan has been scared of Mia's dad since he was caught with his pants down in her bedroom. While on the job, he finds out Mia's dad likes him. The attraction between Mia and Logan is as strong as ever and they soon discover what each has been missing. They love each other. The bad guy is a punk who attempted to attack Mia at fourteen and has been trying to destroy her rep since then. I like how all the Sarich brothers and Mia and Marcus take down the creep and his organization. The book is very good and I look forward to the next one.

A Second Chance with the Hacker

Mia is a hacker who works in security. Logan is ex-military and works in the protection business. Mia's family hires Logan to protect Mia because someone seems to be determined to destroy her. Mia and Logan did not realize they loved each other. They took different paths after high school, but here they are, coming back to where they started. This was my first book by this author, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this romantic suspense.

Family

Mia and Logan. A spin off of the Aegis series with a new set of siblings. High school sweethearts get another chance when Mia is in danger. The story is quick and easy to follow with a consolidated cast of mainly Logan and his family and then Mia and hers. There are a few others such as the villain and their network, but the focus is the two families. Overall a good read with chemistry, danger, romance and love. Can’t wait for the other brothers stories and more of their mom!

Logan is hired to protect Mia and solve the mystery of who is trying to destroy her reputation. Logan & Mia were a couple fourteen years ago but after graduation, they followed different career paths. Their walk down memory lane adds the heat and passion to a mesmerizing mystery involving talented hackers and cyber attacks. Excellent storyline, great likable characters and well written action scenes. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Five stars.

This was a good quick HEA read with some action and suspense to keep the story line intriguing and make me want to read more of this series. Despite being a quick read there was quiet a good depth to the characters and I thought how Mia and Logan are given a second chance after her Farther calls Logan's work was great. I can't wait to read about the rest of the Omega Team.

Good start to the series

I really like this author and previously read her other series (NYS Troopers), so I was anxious to read this one. It didn’t disappoint. A decent amount of romance and suspense plus a little action at the end. The characters and family dynamics were well written and I enjoyed their interaction and development. Will definitely continue with the next book in this series!

This little novella ended up being such an enjoyable read! I was looking for something quick, but there was still a lot of story here and it never felt too short at all. I love a good second chance romance, and I just adored these characters. The plot kept my interest from page 1! I can't wait to read more about the Sarich brothers!

Logan is tasked to protect the girl he loved as a teenager.. The more she is threatened the more Logan vows he will do everything he can to not let anything happen to her. Mia is in danger and she knows the best person to protect her is Logan but as they grow closer is she really in more danger?

Loved this book and was looking for more.. 2nd chance romance and danger all rolled in one

The Lighthouse

Should be 4 stars but down one for editing. It annoys me having to read things twice to get the gist.
I did enjoy this story and the characters and I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
This is a very quick read.

Logan and Mia were high school sweethearts until life got in the way. When Logan is hired as Mia’s bodyguard, neither of them knew what to expect. This is a second chance story you don’t want to miss!!!

Love? No. Maybe?

What an introduction to the Aegis Network and the Sarich brothers especially.
Logan always assumed he still couldn't get Mia out of his mind 12 years later because she was the forbidden lust of his teenage years, but was it forbidden lust or maybe, possibly, could it have been love?
Logan is man enough to admit when he is wrong but before he can act on his feelings he has to keep Mia safe, find and eliminate the threat. And there is nobody he trusts more to back him up than his brothers, especially when it appears the threat is closer to home than any of them thought.
Mia thought this threat was recent, but the deeper they dig the further back in her history they have to go.
Can they fight the threat both online and in person at the same time or is there always going to be an innocent casualty.
I got a free copy of this from Bookfunnel, but the whole series of 5 Sarich Family books are also available on Kindle Unlimited. I will be eagerly working my way through the series before checking out the rest of The Aegis Network.

Entertaining, quick read with humor, suspense and action. Logan and Mia were an endearing couple and their families fun and quirky. I loved the different interactions between Logan and Mia’s father. The story has a relatable, plausible plot and strong characters. The easy conversations, story building and character relations and interactions combined made it a great read. There is plenty of charm, lighthearted humor, tense situations and intrigue to keep you engaged until the very end.

Logan and Mia were high school sweethearts who agreed to go their separate ways after school and fulfill the dreams. Neither expected to be reunited by a threat to Mia and her twin brother, Markus’s, lives as well as her reputation and career or the resurfacing feelings they share for one another that never seemed to have died. Seeing each other again, even with danger closing in, has reawaked feeling they long thought gone and hoping for a future. Mia’s nemesis has given them a short time line and after a botched capture attempt, the stakes could not be higher. Can Logan keep Mia and her family safe, restore her reputation and catch the bad guy before it is too late?

Logan has just finished an assignment. Was hoping for some time off when he is handed a new one. Protecting his ex girlfriend and her brother.
Mia and her brother are hackers but someone hacked her. Her father is calling in protection because she has been threatened. She can't believe it will be Logan.
Seems like there hasn't been any time between now and the last time they were together.
Now to stop the threat so they can be together.
