Cheating boyfriend. Check Broken up band. Check Devon Montgomery ruined my life.
Allison Watts felt like her whole world had fallen apart, until up and coming band Dragon Zion needed a drummer and their manager thought she was the perfect person for the job.
Now it’s just her, and three sinfully sexy band mates as they head off on a UK tour. Keeping their no fraternisation rule shouldn’t be that hard, should it?
I loved this story so hard! The whole thing was totally unexpected how it all went down and it was in the best possible way. Karma comes into play in an awesome fashion and it this story comes complete with an HEA! I want... no I NEED more of this whole crew 😅
I was looking forward to this story - I am a fan of RH (reverse harem) stories and this one featured a female drummer which is an anomaly of it's own. I liked the way the story started out, with Ally being confident in her ability. However I felt this story fell in regards to the plot and storyline. Once Ally slept with one of the guys it seemed to be all about one on one steamy moments. Also, I was not a fan of the way the "dirty talk" was written, and it tended to pull me out of the scene.
Not my type of thing, but some people might enjoy it if you are into insta-love.
I love reverse harem (RH) and am always happy to find a contemporary one to read. I liked that this one features a heroine who joins a band as their kick-ass drummer as you hardly ever see female drummers. I would have liked to have more of the book focus on their music or band because of that, but really that part of the story took a backseat to romantic interactions and drama with her nasty ex. The relationship building with the harem members didn't work for me - there was an immediate attraction with physical arousals upon meeting, followed by sentences describing a time jump where they got to know each other better/grew closer off-page and unfortunately when this happens in books it doesn't translate to the reader so I didn't feel their connection/know them any better. I don't feel like I know all that much about the heroes but there was enough difference in personalities described for me to differentiate between them. There are sex scenes of good length/heat that are good on their own but since I didn't feel the tension between the characters leading up to them they had less impact. I did like the second half of the book better than the first half, but despite really loving RH in general, I actually prefer this author's MFM novella, More Than Desire, overall. 2.5 Stars on GR scale
Such a great read! Really loved the main character Ally, and her strength and talent to move forward and take a chance with new music and new loves! Her ex was quite the piece of work, and her turmoil over the band leant angst and friction to the music she made with the band. I also loved that this was a complete story with the band, that the the author didn't feel the need to throw in extra folks to make their story complete! It's hard to find good contemporary RH sometimes, but Avery proves that it can be done, and done well! P.S. I wouldn't mind a little novella followup with the band to see how their happily ever after is rolling along! ; )
I really enjoyed this book. Ally is great. She is s drummer that was devastated by her cheating boyfriend and band mate. She joins another band and finds herself welcomed and loved.
This is a great contemporary RH with a HEA and so much heart. All the guys are great with such distinct personalities.
I definitely recommend this book and can’t wait to read more from this author!!
There wasn't much originality to the story, nor was there anything outstanding. It was very much a paint by number sort of story, nothing to really connect the reader to the characters, no real character building or conflict. If I happen to run across another book by this author, I might read it because the author won't be memorable enough for me not to, in either a positive or negative way.
I always love a good reverse harem rock star book and this one didn't disappoint. It was a quick love for the 3 guys, when at first 3 of them weren't interested, but I didn't!mind that too much. I did like the sub plot with Ally's ex, even though it was a tough subject. This is the first novel from this author that I have read and will be reading more by her. Would recommend.
This is a good read. When Ally's boyfriend of 9 years and her bandmate cheats on her everything falls apart. When she is asked to audition for another band she finds herself attracted to all of the new band. The guys are attracted to her but want to keep it professional. There are some ups and downs along the way and keeps you interested. Loved the HEA.
Avery Duncan is fast becoming my go-to author for books that are hot, and that put a stunning twist on the average romance story. The guys in this book are all insanely sexy - who doesn't love a rock star?!
This was a great stand alone, HEA, one day read. I read so many books and series that I sometimes need something just like this book inbetween the longer series! I enjoyed the pace and story line. I also enjoyed that it wasn't all about the bedroom.
OMG where to start! I loved the characters, loved the story and seriously loved the element of sordid pasts that try to come nocking but they stand together in the end. What a great read!
I really believe there's an art to rockstar romances and this book hit the nail on the head for me. Loved the story, getting to know the characters and the steamy sex scenes!
Oh my goodness I have been a bit down and saw this cover and something just pulled me to it...this book was exactly everything I didn't know I needed. I freaking loved this book!
I loved the dynamic between the characters and how they got to know each other. The author makes you REALLY hate the bad guy. I love when an author can influence me that much, when I can get angry in real life even though I'm reading fiction.
This is the first book I have read from this author and omg I loved it. I really liked it wasn’t an insta-love and was a build up to their relationship. The story of Ally and her ex was a very good one and I appreciated that it wasn’t the typical bf cheating. There was so much more to the story and Ally’s reaction and feelings were so well described it made you feel closer to her. The men were amazing and so different. The love and respect they showed her made their characters very like able. This was an amazing book and I could not recommend it enough. This book is one to definitely buy.
