TerraMates #16

Marauder: A Science Fiction Alien Mail-Order Bride Romance

Rate this book
He bought me for his king.
Now he's claimed me for himself.

I didn't believe the rumors about TerraMates. People say the company has started taking women off the streets and selling them as sex toys for aliens.
I should have listened.
I'm a prisoner, and my captor is supposed to deliver me to his leader.
But after tasting my body and mastering my soul, he has decided he wants me for himself. He doesn't care what the king wants.
Do I want to go back to Earth, or keep begging for more?

Stealing His Bride👰

More Terramates! This is a fun, highly readable book. Definitely for Adults Only. Enjoy!

Human Earthling, Emma💃💋 is desperate to get away from her worthless boyfriend, Jason. So desperate, she signs up for Terramates👰 and is immediately matched to an anonymous alien male.
Terramates👰 picks her up in record time, and she is whisked away to their headquarters on another planet for study and physical exams before her marriage.

Orien🐺🍆🌋🔪🔫 is a tall, buff, alien stud from Baroma, and he knows it. He and his best buddy, Mor, are renegades and marauders, doing shady deals on backwater planets. They even live on a small, fast, stolen ship.

In actuality, Orien🐺🍆🌋🔪🔫 is a Prince👑, but his father is sending bounty hunters after him. The 👑Emperor Krouuk perceives his highly trained Baromenian warrior son, Orien🐺🍆🌋🔪🔫, to be a threat to his crown.

Another 👑King, Ursen, an enemy of Krouuk, sends a man from Omicron to pay him a huge sun of money to transport a bride👰 from Terramates to him. It comes in handy, since Orien🐺🍆🌋🔪🔫 has gambled and drank away all his credits.

The woman they pick up is Emma👰. Mor brings her to the ship, since Orien🐺🍆🌋🔪🔫 is a fugitive. He puts her in a cell, like she's a prisoner! I think she's gonna be mad!

ARC Received.

Loved this book📑! It's got a lot of story and a lot of action going on throughout! Well written and thought out.

Spur of the moment choice

Okay this book was a little strange in my opinion. the main characters don't always think through their choices after hurt or anger and that leads them to different points in their life that let them connect in space.

I found the lead character Emily just a bit whiny I don't want to call her needy but she's just have no faith in herself or believe that she's worth more than being someone's convenience and caregiver.

Now Orien he has been gifted with looks, charisma, Birthright to a kingdom and he asks like a petulant child. He's inconsiderate to his bodyguard / friend Mor and take advantage of said friend. I gave the book of four because it is well written and you get an happy ending.

For me the book felt like it was missing something at the end.

I have read and reviewed this book without obligation to the author.

Emily is a character I just don't understand. She is unhappy with her quasi boyfriend Josh and she is unhappy will her life in general. She acts submissive outwardly towards Josh but inwardly she is a volcano ready to erupt. A while back she applied at TerraMates and was accepted into the program. At that time she did not make a move to go through with it. Now that she was angry at Josh and had a crappy job she decided better late than never. She replied. A few hours later she was picked up. While on board she along with many others were on their way to their prospective spouses. Everyone else seemed happy. They had pictures of their intended. Even received gifts. Emily did not even now who she was betrothed to. She was never given a name, picture or even what planet he was from. Emily started to become belligerent. She wanted answers and was not getting any. She was told either agree to proceed or go back to earth. She was very skeptical but agreed to continue as she had nothing to go back to. Emily had to be transferred to another ship. She was full hostility fueled by fear. No one told her what was going on or why. On this new transport it was run by two men: Mor and Orien. Orien was an self exiled prince. He wanted no part of his father's cruel regime and Mor was his companion and bodyguard. I wanted to shake Emily for acting like a child instead of just going with the flow and accepting what she signed up for. She was acting out even thought Mor and Orien told her that they were taking her to the King her betrothed and would never hurt her. They wanted to get paid for the transport job. But Emily persisted in her poor behavior until she realized she was attracted to Orien. Orien seemed to be attracted to Emily as well. But he knew she was off limits. She was a job with a payday. Emily even tried to seduce Orien so he would be more amendable to return her to earth. It did not work. Then their ship was under attack and suffered severe damage. They had to crash land on an unknown planet. They went through the perils of danger. At one point or another Mor, Orien and Emily all were injured and sometimes close to death. However they all recovered. When they finally found civilization on the planet, the people were frightened of Orien. But really they were frightened of his father. the Emperor. When they were all treated for any injuries, they were given food and shelter. The next day they were aroused by guards coming to take them away. It seems that Emily's betrothed, King Ursen came to collect her. Emily knew she did not want to be parted from Orien, but she was taken away and Orien did nothing to stop it. Emily could tell she was going to be unhappy. The King came to her and asserted his dominance over her and when she did not comply he struck her. Before the King had his way with her Orien came to rescue her. Mor and Orien came to take her back to earth. However Orien was in love with Emily and Emily was in love with Orien. Neither of them would admit it. Just before they reached earth Orien broke down in tears and confessed his sorrow for what had happened to her and confessed his love. Emily upon hearing this forgave him. Now Emily had to choose weather or not to leave Orien. Orien's life was that of a pirate, a gypsy. But his father the Emperor was dying if that was the case, Orien was next in line for the kingdom. Would he return to see his cruel father before he died? Does Orien even want that responsibility of being Emperor? What is he willing to do to keep Emily? What will Emily do? Will she go back to earth or continue roaming the galaxies with Mor and Orien? This book needed an epilogue. The story's conclusion did not feel complete. This is a solid three and half stars. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I hated Emily. She signed up for Terramates and left earth. Her boyfriend, Josh, doesn't care about her. Emily turns out to be a person who blames everything on everybody and plays victim. I can't understand why Orien would fall in love with her.

I don't know if you can call the man Emily is supporting on Earth her boyfriend as he is a total d-bag who is quite obviously doing nothing but using her so I was quite impressed when she decided to just say enough & I'm outta here, although she may have been a little hasty in not getting more details up front. Orien is one of my all time favourite Lisa Lace characters, he is hilarious and his friendship and banter with Mor made me laugh more than once. Orien is a bit of a reprobate but so lovable with it that you can't hold it against him. He escaped the clutches of his father because he could not abide his father's tyrannical ways and turned to a life of smuggling and conning people but at heart both he & Mor have a code of ethics and morality that they hold true to. When Orien & Mor are paid a vast sum of money to smuggle the King's new bride, Emily, to him they think it'll be a piece of cake never expecting the electric attraction that will flare between Orien and Emily. The two of them also made me laugh out loud, at times they were like spoiled children playing tit for tat and at others they were so caring and genuine with each other but Orien does his best to put her off because he knows the consequences if he should fail in his undertaking to deliver her to her groom to be but sometimes emotions that strong just cannot be quashed. Danger abounds for them, not only because of the bounty on Orien's head but a crash landing, a long and peril filled trek through the jungle and a whole bunch more keeps them from achieving their goal and gives Orien & Emily more time to do the wrong thing - or is it? Is there a way for the two of them to be together despite the odds stacked against them? Can Orien face his responsibilities to his people and take up his father's mantle? Can Emily abandon her desire to return to Earth for Orien & live a life of a smuggler and nomad should he decide not to take the role of Emperor? You'll have to read it to find out.

Emily was in a relationship with a selfish dirtbag named Josh. Josh had been living with her and having her pay the rent. He didn’t want to commit to even being her boyfriend! He just continued to use her until she finally realized she had another option! TerraMates had previously approved her application when she and some friends signed up on a dare. The acceptance was still valid. When she woke Josh to ask if he wanted to be her boyfriend, he rolled over and said they would talk in the morning – which meant no. She goes outside for fresh evening air and a glowing sphere identifies itself as her shuttle and transports her away!

Orien Elvdon and Mor are hanging out on a dismal planet they think of as home. Orien is a runaway prince and Mor is his friend and bodyguard. Someone follows them and shoots an arrow, dripping with either poison or a sedative, as Mor pulls Orien behind him. The arrows continue and a drunk Orien runs down the alley. When Mor shoots the archer, they find a letter in his clothing indicating he is a bounty hunter sent by Orien’s father, the Emperor-King of the Centaurus System.

TerraMates begins processing Emily, having matched her to a king. She has no information and the robots don’t answer her questions. To deliver her discreetly, the Omicronian King Ursen hires Orien and Mor to do the job! But when Orien sees her, he wants her for himself. Their ship is attacked and crashes on a planet. Will they survive? Will they continue to take her to the king? Or will Orien keep her for himself?

I enjoyed the light humor throughout the book. The characters were well developed, and the contrast between Orien and Mor’s personalilties gave the reader lots of laughs at their banter. The story line was good, mysterious, and moved at a good pace. I would definitely recommend this book! It was very enjoyable!

Scruffy, smuggling Prince in self-posed exile seeks TerraMate to deliver!
Marauder: A Science Fiction Alien Mail-Order Bride Romance (TerraMates Book 16)
Aug 9, 2018
by Lisa Lace

The Author graciously gave me an eARC and I am leaving an honest review.

Imagine that Han Solo was not only a scoundrel and a smuggler but a out of favor prince trying to keep himself and his best friend/first mate alive and in credits!

Then imagine that he agrees to deliver the most perfect woman he has ever met to a less than good Emperor (can we all agree that Emperors tend to be bad things) Emily has signed on to TerraMates, believing that the company has a 99.5% success rate. But as things move forward, she begins to believe she may, indeed, be that 5%. Especially when she is drawn to Orien and she has no idea what her future husband is. She continually has cold feet for the Emperor, and hot pants for Orien, the smuggler prince.

The action reminded me of a far more futuristic version of an Erroll Flynn Pirate movie. The romance is there and more importantly the action and the rest of the story aren't just stitched in to move from one sex scene to another. Not to say the sex scenes are thrilling! Your heart will race and you won't be able to put it down!

The twist at the end is fantastic. I would love to stick with these characters somehow in future books from Lace.

Lisa Lace has shown her talent is never ending and her imagination is ever expanding!

5 Quasars out of 5!

This is book 16 in this series and the story lines are still original and fresh. I love that! This story is about Emily, who I found it easy to relate to, and Orien. Emily reminds me a lot of myself in the way that she hides her feelings until she explodes. She isn't really aggressive with her boyfriend, Josh, until he pushes her beyond the point; she applies for the TerraMates program and then doesn't follow through with it; things like that. When she does finally show her anger she comes across as a little bit of a brat, which I also can relate too. There were moments when I found myself totally understanding, and agreeing, with how she acted, and other times when I wanted to shake her. Like the rest of this fantastic series, this one is full of danger, excitement, emotional ups and downs, laughter, and incredible passion. There were many times when I didn't think there would be a way for these two to reach their HEA, but I am happy to say that it does happen. I love this story! I love this series! I can't wait for the next book!

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

This is not your typical TerraMates story! Emily signs up to be TerraMate and her journey to her intended is not easy and complicated. Orien is hired to bring her to Omicron but it is a very dangerous trip.

Emily is likeable but Orien was a contradiction and sometimes you liked him and some times you hate him! The love/hate type romance is not my favorite but this was well done.

The only thing that I didn't really understand was why TerraMates would contract a mate with such an evil King and a human when they are supposed to have such a high rate of success with their matches and what was with all the secrecy of not telling Emily about her match?? If they did not tell her because they knew he was evil then that doesn't say much for TerraMates! Just wish there was more explanation of what was going on from their side. Also, loved that they had a HEA but an epilogue with where they ended up would have been great!

Marauder Terramates Novel 16 By Lisa Lace

That I honestly wish it had a part two. Even though I would of hated to see a cliffhanger in this book. But who cares haha. I loved it from start to finish. Orien had me scared for almost a chapter, but he can stand on his own.
A Earth woman named Emily is looking for a forever kinda love. Only the guy she has staying with her is a butthead and doesn't do anything to help her out in means of food, rent or even a good time in bed. Tired of the life she has, she final decides to put it all in the past. Only can she go through it all and not regret any of it?
Orien is running from his past and kinda his future too. He may have been important in his home life. But he hated it and how his father ruled the world he lived in. Then he meets his match in the worst way possible. She's basically a package he needs to deliver whole and alive to someone he despises more than life it self. Can he do it or will he truly lose all.

Don't know what you've got til it's gone....

One question asked...one question not answered. That's all it takes to completely change Emily's life. Agreeing to be a mail-order bride for TerraMates is supposed to be the answer to all her problems. It doesn't take long for Emily to realize it may be a bigger problem. Home on Earth never sounded so good. Orien is an intergalactic fugitive and a renegade prince. When he is hired to deliver a bride to King Ursen of Omicron, Orien thinks it should be just another job. He didn't count on Emily. She drives him insane but that's the way he likes it. Will he realize what he has before it's too late? I loved this one. The banter between Emily and Orien was nothing but "foreplay" for these two.

Marauder (TerraMates Book #16) by Lisa Lace
Emily is out walking the streets because she is pissed at her maybe boyfriend. He lives with her, has sex with her but doesn’t give her the things she wants, rent money and satisfying sex. She knows it over and as she walks to her door she finds she has no keys to get in. As she stands there deep in thought she is wisped away to TerraMates. She had signed up a long time ago and thought they didn’t want her, but they found her a king, but no one will tell her anything about him. She is being taken by Orien and Mor two aliens. The first time Orien see her he falls for her but he wants to keep his word to take her to the king. Lisa Lace has done it again. I could not put this book down till I finished it. I just loved this story and I hope Lisa lace keeps them coming. I received an ARC and have voluntarily left a review.

This series of books just seem to get better with each one.
The only thing they really have in common is TerraMates .
If you have read any of the other books in this series you
are going to be completely surprised by this one. right from the
start of the story it's hooks you. There's plenty of action and quite
a few funny parts in it as well.
This one is Emma and Orien story. Emmea is in a just friend relationship
with benefits and the joker she is with can not satisfied her in any department.
So she answered a message from Terramate. This is where the story really takes off.
Orien was hired by the person who is go to be her husband. Things don't go to plan
When Orien set eyes on Emma. If you want to know what happens you are going to have
to read it yourself because I don't want to reck the story for you.
Great plot and characters.

Emily is in a dead end relationship when she decided to become a Terramates bride never realizing the adventure she was going to have. When King Ursen hired Orien to smuggle is Terramate bride to Omicron he really didn't have a choice, but he didn't expect to fall in love with her. Baromaian Prince Orien was a man who had left the royal life for that of a criminal and flt that he had nothing to give Emily, besides he really needed the money for her delivery so he felt he had no choice but to fight his feelings. Emily wasn't happy being a Terramate Bride and wanted to o home, but also was confused by hr feeling for Orien. It only took an attack from space, a crash landing, alien wildlife attacking and a mad brutal king claiming Emily before they both excepted their future was meant to be together.
I have read and reviewed this as a voluntary ARC.

This story is a different type of TerraMates story in my book and in a good way. I am so use to the "we make sure our matches are matched perfectly" motto that I didn't comprehend how things are so much different in this story. The one "acquiring" her as his wife doesn't even care about her specifically just that he has a wife and has the money to pay for her. To me there were too many unanswered questions that could have been addressed. I honestly waiting for it to come out that Emily's intended really was Orien but was shocked to find out that the cruel King really was her intended mate.

To me Emily and Orien's story just doesn't fit as a TerraMate match story. This is a solid 3 1/2 stars for me. Maybe there could be a second book to address the many questions left after finishing this story.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this Terramates! The banter between Emily and Orien was hilarious and had me laughing out loud. Although Emily couldn't keep her mind made up about what she wanted to do or where she wanted to be. She complained about pretty everything, there was times she was a very strong character.
Orien definitely had the devil may care attitude. He was reckless, cocky, and live life in the moment. He felt an attraction to the bride to be he is being paid to deliver but he knew he would have to deliver her no matter what.
The only thing I didn't understand was if Terramates made a mistake with this match or was this deliberate since so much was paid for by the male who wanted her???

This was a great addition to the series. I loved Emily and Orien and even Mor. Emily signs up for TerraMates but things don't really work out the way she hoped. She is being taken to her very secretive fiance by Orien and Mor. Orien is charming, infuriating, and very protective. His partner in crime, Mor is there to protect him and take care of his drunken butt.

Emily and Orien hit it off and their chemistry is off the charts. I really loved their story and all the action in this book. I think I would have liked an Epilogue about after.....the fact. And I really want Mor and his literal and dry sense of humor to have a story.

This is another great TerraMates book. I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again, but I don't know how Lisa Lace is able to come up with so many different stories all based around the same mail order bride concept. And they really all are different...I've read them all and I never feel like I'm reading the same story just with different names. I tend to really like the love/hate relationships. There is just so much passion involved I think. And this story definitely has that. This book had me laughing and even crying at some points. It is definitely a keeper. I really liked it and I'm sure you will too!

I loved this story!! Excellent romance, loved what through them together, the banter, the teasing and in the end he saves her! Funny how she was contracted to someone else, a cruel, sadist king(uh Terra Mates where's your integrity now, I thought you investigated these people?? Really blew it on this one!!)and to end up with a rogue prince who thinks he has no redeeming qualities but nothing could be further from the truth! Great continuation of the story and great how the author can keep it fresh and new after so many books! Great job Lisa!!

I received an ARC from the author and freely give my review.

This was exciting, frustrating, and downright passionate! There was travel and adventure, strange planets, strange people, fighting, loving, Drinking. I enjoyed all of it. Although I do admit to being a bit frustrated with both the main characters for fighting themselves over how they really felt about one another. I also admit that I found that how Emily left Earth entirely hilarious and wonder when terramates went interdimensional!

Every book by Lisa Lace entertains me with laugh out moments and pure delight and Marauder leads the pack!! Ms. Lace writes her characters brash, daring and with extraordinary flair. Orien is totally an engaging character, combative and belligerent but with scorching magnetism! Emily is a strong woman but desperate to escape and combine this with kidnapping her for a King and you have a explosive relationship! Love this story and can't wait for more!

This series is one of my favourites, the books are always varied. This is another great addition, once you start reading, you just cannot put it down. I also love how Terramates are not invincible and don’t always get the matches (they only have a 99.65% match rate, and they didn’t match Orien & Emily, he’s just supposed deliver her to her husband).
