His plans are derailed when he wakes up with a mysterious tattoo of his ancestors after a one-night stand with his opponent’s ex-girlfriend, Meg Riley. Sharing the mark with her joins them as mates for eternity. Can Caleb deal with Meg for the rest of his life? Can he keep her safe from his past as he falls deeply in love with her? And will she stay by him when she finds out he is actually a werewolf?

It was just a fling, a chance to get revenge on her cheating ex. At least that’s what Meg Riley tries to convince herself. But the indescribable pull that draws her to the dark, dangerous Caleb Hallow tells her differently. Although she is furious when she finds the strange tattoo on her back after their night together, and even though he tells her some convoluted story about him being a werewolf, she can’t stay away from him. She can’t stop herself from falling for him. When her ex threatens Caleb’s life, how far will Meg go to save him? Will she be willing to sacrifice her life for his?

Audio Review:
Welterweight (Hallow Brothers, Book 1) blends together mma sports, werewolves, and internal mates. A revenge fling, a mysterious tatoo and a complicated secret. I wanted to enjoy this listen more than I did but I couldn't get into the story too much as the male narrator was not enjoyable to listen.

Narators Craig A. Hart and Amanda Stribling dual narration was overshadowed by Craig's monotone voice. I didnt enjoy his performance. Amanda Stribling's performance was smooth and easy listening. She brought out Meg's fiesty personality.

First things first…Yes, yes, yes! Shifter MMA fighters? Hello?! You don’t even have to read anymore of the review! Just read Welterweight for yourself! But if you must continue…Basically we have our two main characters, Caleb and Meg. Caleb is all about the one night stands. Ain’t got time for relationships and all that mess. Meg is “committed” to her on and off again boyfriend, Austin. He treats her like crap but she keeps going back because she is soooo in love with him. One night Meg breaks it off with Austin and ends up looking for a one night stand, you know, the one that is gonna make Austin mad. What she wasn’t prepared for was tall, dark, and yummy who she basically climbs in the club. It’s even better because Caleb and Austin are set to fight each other too. Caleb and Meg just cannot get enough of each other. This insatiable pull is so intense! After a crazy night Caleb tries to do the wam bam thank you ma’am and leaves but Meg wakes up with a tattoo and goes on a crazy hunt for Caleb. From here on out we find that they are mated but neither of them want this. They hate each other, right? But this pull of the mating just won’t let it happen. They are basically carbon copies of each other. Both are so independent and full of themselves. The fighting and bickering…then the “special time” *wags eyebrows* will keep you wanting to know more about them. As they are coming to terms with the mating, things go awry. I can’t give you any other spoilers but if I can give you any indication of how good this story is, I read this in one sitting. I just had to know what was going on, who was behind it all, and if they were going to come out together. All the characters introduced are going to make great characters for other books and I am hoping to see more of the craziness that is Caleb and Meg. Bring it on Tricia Andersen! Lovin it!!!

I purchased this book.

So my BFF a/k/a partner in crime has been after me to read this series. So I decided to take her advice and jumped in. What a great start to a series.

Meg has an on again off again jerk of a boyfriend that she sees cheating on her once again so her plan is to find a guy hook up for one night and boom!! they are even. Because that is always the right plan and works like a charm. LOL. When Caleb is in front of her she decides who better to make the boyfriend jealous by having a one night stand with her boyfriends rival Caleb.

Caleb is the middle brother out of 7 boys. He is an ass and does not open his heart to anyone. He is all for the one night stands no strings no attachments. Which is what he planned with Meg. However, the fates play a part in this. You see after the one night stand Meg wakes up with a large tattoo that sends her through the roof and on a mission to find the only one that could have put it there Caleb.

I absolutely love Meg,s personality she is feisty and does not back down even when she finds out Caleb's secret and that she is Caleb's MATE what ever that means. I have to say Caleb somehow found a way into my heart. He is full on alpha and an ass but he has his sweet moments. Meg and Caleb do not like each other and try so hard to fight the matting pull. Is it wrong that I enjoyed seeing there arguments and fights. I have to say those never got old. These two are truly two peas in a pod they were truly made for each other.

There is something about all seven of these guys that has peaked my interest. I have to say I liked Caleb but there are six more so who knows who will be my favorite. I enjoyed most all of the characters even the two aunts. I'm so ready to start the next one.

There's a lot happening in this book- it's the first in the series so that makes sense. I assume that there will be other books following Caleb's brothers. I waffled a bit on this book. I didn't really like the characters too much and Meg and Caleb's relationship didn't seem to unfold in a realistic way (well as realistic for a paranormal romance). I also don't like that Meg basically cheated on her boyfriend and yes, he was a cheater but then she was willing to go back to him after cheating (but then couldn't because of the fated mates thing). So, from the beginning, I didn't like Meg. Caleb was ok and I liked the other characters. The paranormal aspect was interesting and intertwining it with MMA was quite original, in my opinion. There was a definite bad guy, a bit of craziness and a lot of steam.

While I rate the book a 3.0 stars, I have to say that the audiobook was well done and increased by rating to 3.5. The narration was done by Amanda Stribling and Craig Hart and both had great voices that were very consistent with the characters. I really liked the emotion that the narrators imparted, especially Amanda Stribling. Overall, a good listen.

Holy hot werewolf shifter love making. Meg was dating the champion of the welterweight title Austin Graves and all Austin cared about was getting whatever he wanted and stopping at no cost to do so, even if it meant losing his girlfriend to his enemy and the man he hated the most Caleb Hallow. Meg caught Austin getting a blow job right in front of her by some groupie she was done with him for good. While sitting at the bar Meg felt a weird pulling sensation and when she turned around there was Caleb Hallow what better way to get back at her ex then getting under the one person he hates the most. Caleb was after the title he worked hard for years to get it and he wanted it but he had one secret he and his family had to be careful of on the full moon well they became werewolf’s and its a secret he kept to himself. After Meg and Caleb hooked up and had the best time either of them have had do they make it a normal thing or is it a hit it and quit it type hookup just to piss Austin off. Holy crap this book had me hook from the very beginning it will probably get you all hot and bothered and will definitely leave you wanting more. You will not be disappointed with this book at all.

Wow! I loved this book and I’m not typically into the fighter/MMA books. I do feel that the fighting was secondary to what was happening between Caleb and Meg.

Caleb is a werewolf. It’s the typical story of changing during full moons only he can choose to control it. It’s hurts but he can make it happen. Having a mate is not in the cards for him until he meets his opponents girlfriend/ex-girlfriend.

Meg had no idea that the challenger to her cheating ex would be so hot and alluring. It was instant chemistry like nothing she has felt before. So what’s the harm in taking him home for the night to get back at her cheating boyfriend? Meg got a whole lot more of that one encounter than she could ever imagine.

Obviously Meg comes off as nothing but a party girl or one of those ring girls that is out to bag a fighter. We learn there is a reason why she became a party girl and there is much more to her than meets the eye.

Caleb’s brothers love Meg because she goes toe to toe with not only Caleb but them. She fits in perfectly and the brothers take her under their wing.

I definitely got sucked into this book and I’m looking forward to reading what’s next in the series.

5/5

Welterweight is the first book I've read by Tricia Anderson. It was fun and steamy story. What starts out as a night of revenge by sleeping with her cheating boyfriend's rival turns into a lifetime mating - despite Meg not wanting Caleb and Caleb not wanting a mate. The sparks fly and things get even crazier when Meg's ex finds out that Caleb is a shifter. I liked the myriad of aspects to this story from paranormal to suspense to action and many other ways that Tricia Anderson keeps you on the edge of your seat and guessing. And the side effect of mates was hilariously gross. I loved the bits of humor to break up what could have been some dark elements to this story. Overall, Welterweight was a lot of fun and a great introduction to the Hallow Brothers.

I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Obsession. This is my honest and voluntary review.

I really wanted to love this book. Shifter and MMA? Should be a great combination.

I just didn’t like the main characters all that much. Meg is a self centered party girl who will have revenge sex against her crappy boyfriend. Caleb is self centered as well.

I’m all for insta-lust. What didn’t do it for me is that Meg and Caleb only actually became decent people due to the mating bond that drove them to, gasp, care about something other than themselves.

The subplot with Meg’s ex was a little OTT.

This was my first Tricia Andersen's book, and won't be my last. This is the first book in the Hallow Brothers Series, a Paranormal MMA Sports Romance. Caleb and Meg's story is original, and entertaining. Caleb is a MMA Fighter, and werewolf. Meg is lovely, strong, and sassy. They share an instant attraction and a sizzling chemistry. The storyline has action, and humor. Craig A. Hart and Amanda Stribling did a great job with the narration. I like their voices together. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series. #AudiobookObsession

These werewolves are not nice and cuddly. During the full moon you better not be around, and Caleb may be the most dangerous one. These two have sparks flying and starting fires from the beginning. They fight hard and love hard, and it's a good thing because Meg's ex is out for revenge. Meg's ex is a hot mess and dangerous. These two go through hell to be together. There is lots of explicit content, and there is violence. There is a little bit that may be a slight trigger for some.

I received this audiobook free for an honest review as a member of Pink Flamingo Productions Review Team. This was a great book. Loved the story. Meg is a tough cookie and Caleb is a hot MMA fighter. The author wrote a quality, in-depth creative paranormal story. Loved the characters as well as the overall story. The narrators were excellent as well. They brought the personalities of each character to life and made the story even better.

MMA fighter that's a shifter? Heck yea! I loved this book. I read it in one sitting.
I love Caleb. He's cocky, kinda a jackass but you still have to love him. Meg was awesome. I loved that she wouldn't put up with his bull. They really played off each other well and the chemistry was off the charts. A great story and I'm super excited to read the rest of the series.

I purchased this book. I was given this audio for an honest review.

I loved both narrator's voices and thought they brought lots of emotion and life to the characters.

MMA Hotties? Yes Please

Shifters? OMGawd YES!!!

I mean like you need to ask me if I am interested in a shifter book…do you people not know me at all!!  LOL

I loved the alpha, Caleb, in this book.  He is such an arrogant jackass, which of course is why we love him right ladies??  But then when we see his soft side, he made me get all gushy annnnd then he was back to being a jackass.

Meg is looking for a one-night stand and this hottie at the bar will do nicely especially since he is the next guy who is going to be fighting her on-again, but currently off again, boyfriend Austin.  Jealousy will make him stop being a jerk, right?

When the couple hook up they get a lot more then they bargained for when they both wake up to the mating tattoos on their bodies.  Meg is livid her one-night stand drugged and tattooed her…I mean how else did it get there?  Caleb is pissed because he doesn’t want a mate.  He is a bad guy and an island, ya know the guys who don’t need anyone??? Why momma didn’t smack him upside the head a time or two I will never know!!

I loved loved loved the fighting these two had.  It was great but then we would see a glimpse of what they COULD be if they both stopped fighting this bond.  I loved the world that Tricia built.  The characters were fabulous and I am so excited to read Micah next.

The series did a great job filling you in and introducing you to the characters that we will be seeing for at least 7 books???  7 brothers means 7 books right????  I am really looking forward to Josiah.  Dunno but he really made me wiggle my eyes a bit but I have a feeling each brother will be my favorites by the books end.

A Champion Love!

Wow! What a start to a series. Don't worry, this is a complete HEA and stand alone-- but I can't wait for the stories of the other Hallow brothers.

Caleb and Meg each have their own reasons for wanting a night of sex without strings, neither expected more than a wild erotic night together until the next morning when they discovered they are mated! Poor Meg doesn't even know he's a werewolf! Both have pasts that will threaten their relationship. The love/hate of their emotional struggle entertains throughout the story and adds to the strength of the story.

"Princess sounds far dirtier, No one wants to f@ck the queen. They want the princess."

"You are my life. You are my breath. You are my soul. You are my mate."
