Boring 😦
This book just dragged on and on and on and on. A whiney heroine and a crying hero...saying constantly "I didn't do it!" Ok...so where was the romance? There was no steamy connection between the leads...just awful. I couldn't finish this one. Glad it was an unlimited and I could return it.

Action, suspense, drama, steamy scenes, emotions all over the place – this book has it all. It starts off with Emery being stood up by a blind date at a bar. As she is leaving she literally runs into a tall, dark and gorgeous man. They flirt, drink, dance, and end up in the bathroom all over each other. But their hot and sexy encounter ends up being one that Emery quickly wishes never happens as she is taken hostage for being in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong person.
Porter has a past which had him make wrong and terrible decisions that caused the life of a family member. He feels the guilt every day and is determined to get revenge. Deciding to do this has made him a man with no feelings and a blackened heart, because he knows he doesn’t deserve any kind of happiness. But a chance encounter with Emery makes him believe that he can try to be a better man, one worthy to have her by his side. Porter had to be cold and mean to Emery to cover up the fact that he feels something for her and wants to protect her. Emery at first is terrified of Porter, but his actions show that he is not a monster to be feared. Soon they are giving in to what they feel for each other. But it isn’t long before the bad guys catch up to them and now Porter must save his girl.
I felt bad for Porter and the bad decisions he made when he was younger as he was craving for acceptance that he didn’t have at home. Emery was caught in the crossfire but knows that there was something underneath the harsh, cold demeanor Porter portrayed himself to be. It was hot and steamy when they finally got together! A great read and I’m looking forward to her next book!

Her Hitman
I really enjoyed this great read by Leah Holt who never disappoints her readers. Dark mafia romance is one of my favourite genres. So for me it was perfect. Well written, just a little short it could have been a lot more with more of the mafia part of the story to it, but nevertheless a great storyline and well written with believable characters. There was enough depth to the main characters too. A gripping read with fast paced action, betrayal, revenge, justice and best of all love and romance!
Emery was embroiled in a mob altercation in a bar, supposedly on a blind date her best friend Della had set up, Simon the blind date never turned up. She was so caught up with a mystery stranger that neither of them expected a hitman would try to kill them! Porter Blaise the mystery guy and an ex Assassin and ex soldier for the mafia is a man with a dark past with only revenge and justice on his mind, he needs to right a wrong. He had no choice but keep her alive as she was now a witness. She just wants to stay alive and he just wants to protect her. Her monster is cold and emotionless but can she trust him? The Angel of Death will find them, will Porter keep his promise to protect her and save her from the fate of the mafia? Will his demons be his downfall?

Emery is sitting at a bar waiting for her blind date to show up. He's already over an hour late and she is jealous of the people around her that are having fun and living life. She decides she's not waiting anymore she's going home. As she's heading out she runs into a very handsome stranger. He talks her into letting him buy her a drink and they end up dancing and then he's taking her down the back hall to the men's room and things start getting hot and heavy. Someone walks in and Emery hears a gun cocking and then sees a flash. When she looks again her handsome stranger is still standing and the other guy is dead. Emery just wants to go home but soon learns that Porter, her handsome stranger is not letting her go. He says he must keep her with him to protect her, of course she's not convinced that that's the truth. Porter knows taking Emery is a bad idea but with Marcos out to kill him he must keep her safe. This is an emotional story, has wonderful characters, it's steamy and is definitely a page turner. Absolutely recommend this book as a must read mafia romance.

I enjoyed reading this because it had a bit of everything. It has the bad boy, hitmen, child neglect, and more all woven together to make an interesting story. I couldn't put it down once I started it.

Don’t miss this amazing story! This is not your typical mafia romance. The story begins with certain expectations of the type of man Porter is, but as it progresses you learn that he is so much more. There is more depth to his character than one might first expect. It is the strength of Emery’s character that draws out the man Porter truly is. This is an amazing roller coaster ride with its ups and downs and twists and turns. You need to strap in and hold on as you take this journey with Porter and Emery.
This is an intense and compelling romance which will easily keep you enthralled until the end. The characters are well-developed, the narrative is engaging and the passion is HOT. This is a story that will grab your attention from the beginning and not let you go until the end. I strongly recommend you read this book!

So we start out with Emery sitting alone in a bar waiting for a so-called blind date that never shows. Enter Porter who seems taken with her. That night changes both of their lives. Will Emery trust Porter or fall for lies by others? Well, you will have to check it out. This book kept me on edge the whole time. I could not put it down and finished without setting it down. Now I have not read any other books by Leah Holt but I guess the problem I had with this one was there was no "falling" in love. To me, it felt like she was head over heels in love in just a few days. Their relationship went from not liking each other to wham.. in love! The ending leaves you completely on edge and dying to want more.

OMG Best freakin book!!!
I don't know what I was expecting when starting this book but I can tell you I never expected it to be this awesome. I should have known that it would be because Leah Holt never dissapoints.
I instantly loved Porter. Dangerous, sexy and protective. Emery was such a caring person. Both were perfect for one another and were likeable characters.
I have never hated a book character as much as I did one background character in this book and with good reason to (not gonna ruin it by naming names). I wanted to reach inside the story and strangle him.
I love mafia books and especially the ones with a lot of background story, emotions, and danger and this book brought all of that. Definitely gets five stars from me!

Emery's friend has set her up for a blind date but he never show up. Instead a handsome stranger bumps in to her instead and before she knows it they are in the toilet together. But before anything happens an unknown man shows up with a gun. Her handsome stranger Porter ends up killing the man and now he is forcing her with him. Is he the bad guy or is he saving her life ? Wow this one was so exciting all trough the book. Who is Porter the good guy or the bad one ? I really enjoyed it

Another great story Leah about Emery and Porter. This has everything form suspense, action, anger, fear most of all mystery of who is the Bad Guy. Its is steamy sexy and is definitely a page turner that will keep say just one more page to see what happens next. How a blind date Emery was set up changes they way her hole night ends. This is a very enjoyable, edge of your seat romance. With an exciting plot, fun characters, and lots of heat and steam, the book snares your attention and keeps it well. Emory and Porter's story is filled with drama, intensity, action, suspense and danger. The chemistry sizzles and the scenes scorch as these two fight to survive and an instant attraction evolves into something so much deeper. This is my honest, voluntary review.

Holy sweet baby Jesus was this book amazing from page 1 it kept me flipping pages and at one point I think I was even holding my breath with what all was happening Leah has outdone herself again. I think I say that with every book I read by her. This book is no exception Holy moly was it hard to put down. No spoilers but you need to get this book and let the words draw you in as if your running for your life. Highly highly recommend this book.

This is my second read by the author.
My first read was Beautiful Lies so I had really high expectations.
I did enjoy parts of this book but it felt too unrealistic.
I enjoyed the characters and their development together. They had chemistry!
The story line had me wanting to read this but as it progressed it didn’t capture my attention like other mafia story lines.
The book did have passion, chemistry and I thought the epilogue was great!

Redeemable Hitman
This was actually a quick read which I enjoyed
There are several typos but we can ignore them as they don't taken away from the story.
I fell in from the first page but I feel it got a bit slow in the middle then, thankfully, picked up again.
I enjoyed the book - especially how it ended!
I'm happy this mafia hitman was able to redeem himself and save the woman he loves

What a great story between Emery and Porter. Emery was in the wrong place at the wrong time , or was she? Porter was in the bar on sort of business. These two have fantastic chemistry from the moment they lay eyes on eachother. When a threat becomes more of a reality, Porter needs to act quick to save his future.

You hit the ground running from page one. The depth into each of these characters is amazing. Leah Holt's writing allows you to feel every inch of the angst, turmoil, love and hate so vividly. Porter's story captivated me, and I was rooting for him and Emery from the start. I truly enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more from Leah Holt.

Though I did enjoy this book i would have to say that the first 40% of it was confusing and to Much back and forth! When things picked up I finally started to enjoy porter and emery! Though their love was insta I found it believable because when life is on the line you notice things faster!

Wow! Fantastic book!
This book was a complete page turner filled with so much desire, need, angst, passion and steamy sexy hot. I loved the characters throughout the book and their journey.

I'm barely into this book and already going wtf. I can't explain it but the book is already dragging and just feels all over the place. None of it really makes sense.

Yes!!!!
Emery was a fun character. She was bold in her own way. She was not under Potter's hands and together they were on fire. I loved how Emery saw the heart in Porter even when he didn't. Great story.

I'm really enjoying the books fro Leah Holt, read 2 of them back 2 back. The romance was there the intrigue was there and I throroughly enjoyed the different aspects of this book. Definitely a good reax
