Wicca Demystified: A Guide for Practitioners, Family, and Friends

Rate this book
Wicca Demystified is a clear guide through one of the most talked-about and fastest-growing religious movements in the world. With Wicca’s rapid rise has come a torrent of misconceptions, misunderstandings, and untruths about Wiccan beliefs and practices. Longtime Wiccan high priest Bryan Lankford explains the history, beliefs, and practices of Wicca in a context everyone can understand. Among the topics he covers are why Wiccans worship a goddess as well as a god; how Wiccans celebrate holidays; the Wiccan view of death, birth, and the nature of deity; right and wrong from a Wiccan perspective; witch stereotypes and nasty rumors about Wiccans; the Wiccan sacred text; and much more. Wicca Demystified goes beyond the simple mechanics of Wiccan worship to provide a glimpse into the heart and soul of the religion.

Excellent book for the beginner spiritualist or pagan who has many questions. One of the first lessons delivered by Lankford are definitions on the many types of Pagans. It is a history lesson and a practical guide to pursuing the new spirituality path. Pagan seems to describe all religions that are not... mainstream. So then, the family of Pagans is quite large and would include Witches, Kahunas, Witch Doctors, Shamans, and different types of Pagans. Wicca Demystified is a great beginning for the newbie and is easy to read.

This was a great short intro to Wicca. It really made clear the difference between pagan, Wiccan, witch and warlock - I learned these are not interchangeable labels. Also, I like the fact that the book addresses (in short) all the questions that people usually have about Wiccan practices. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has any confusion on the topic. It's a great place to start.

This book was well written and clearly explains all that Wicca is REALLY about - no myths, no lies, no garbage about devil worship - just the honest truth.

This is the third time I have read this book overs the past few years and I learn more each time.

This wasn't too bad. It was for sure for people who are not Pagan. It was very informative. If you are Pagan and are looking for something to help you answer questions.
