the idea is cool (mostly media that go for Sherlock-style deduction are, for me at least), but the execution is only passable and barely. I'm dropping this one i fear

That was interesting!
I really enjoyed the art and the character design and I did not see the little twist coming. A good start curious to see where it goes :)
But also the chapters where quite long which i personally don't enjoy. But like I'd keep reading it. But also I think I would like to continue this series with it's anime adaptation eventually and then maybe come back to the manga :)

If you like the idea of taking Death Note's iconic inner monologues between cat-and-mouse lead characters, Case Closed / Detective Conan's over-the-top dramatic murder cases, and throwing them into a pot with My Hero Academia's world and a really intense match of Among Us, then I cannot recommend this series enough.

In the not-so-distant future, unknown entities called "Enemies of Humanity" appear. Kids with superpowers also begin to pop up, known as the "Talented". To get these super kids ready for a showdown with the baddies, they're all shipped off to a school on a deserted island in order to train and master their various abilities, aka Talents. Nana Hiiragi, a bubbly and outgoing girl, is the newest arrival! She fits right in, and manages to zero in on befriending a seemingly Talentless boy in her class after defending him from bullies and pushing him to become Class President.

(spoiler for the end of Volume 1, but important for the premise of the series)

The pacing for this first volume (which coincides with the first episode of the anime) is deceptively calm until the bait-and-switch at the end, which sets the tone for the rest of the story. It's just a ton of fun and feels like more of a casual series until you realize halfway into the first arc just how emotionally invested you've become. There are plot twists and turns at every corner that I honestly did not see coming, and I love that so much. It takes the "superhero school" trope and the usual assumptions that come with it, and flips it upside down. The main character is effectively a serial killer that you somehow end up rooting for - who also happens to have some of the most interesting and dynamic character development I've seen from a MC in a long time.

I found out about this series when someone described it as "the Among Us anime" and immediately had to check it out. The anime adaptation is wonderful and extremely faithful to the manga (almost exactly scene-for-scene!) but unfortunately is only about 12 episodes long and was never renewed for a 2nd season. I binged the anime over 2 days, but it ends on a massive cliffhanger so of course I rushed to read the manga to find out what happened next. It's not often that I'm gripped so strongly by a new series like this, but it seriously had me in a choke hold as I read through the manga all the way to the current chapters, and now I eagerly await each new release.

Roześmiana i pełna życia nastolatka szybko zjednuje sobie sympatię nowych kolegów i koleżanek.

Alrighty, so far I like the premise!
This manga follows a psychological game of cat and mouse in a school with students who have superpowers. As of the end of volume one, only two people seem to know the game is afoot.
I don't want to divulge too much as it could quickly get into spoiler territory, especially as the first volume is pretty jam packed.
I like the deduction skills displayed, they're rather reasonable when thinking about it and it seems we're going to get something of a Light Yagami vs L set up which I can always get behind.
This is a personal grip, I do think some smarter choices could have been made on one characters part.

It's not blowing me away, but it's enjoyable enough that I'm willing to read more. I'd say if BNHA mixed with some psychological mind games sounds fun to you, go for it!

I... I did not expect that.

The twist sucked me in. Once I started down that rabbit hole I was one and a half volumes down before I came up for air. And sadly I cannot share a bit of it or else that would be a major spoiler.

The premise seems like it's a high school for superheroes vibe, but things get dark real fast. The dynamic between characters is fun to read. The art is nice, I like how the characters look like their powers in some way. For example, Seiya; His power is cryokinesis, the ability to generate and manipulate ice, like his ability, his looks are graceful and he can talk as smooth as ice, but like a frozen lake you must be careful not to venture too deep cause you don't know how deep or in his case, how shallow it is.

The story is definitely intriguing and mysterious. I can't wait to see where it goes from here. I also get the idea that the, "Enemies of Humanity," are bit closer than most think.

It's only the first volume but the plot twist is already insane. Even in my favorite manga, I have never encountered a first volume to be so solid already.

The storytelling is certainly so well-executed even at the beginning. It helped me get hooked on the characters and be a little attached to them. I thought I already guessed who the main characters were already and oh boy, I was wrong.

The plot twist is amazing! It has definitely an exquisite execution of building it up at the very first chapter. It was soooo good and I am all here for it.

I can't believe it's only in the beginning and I am only at the stage of discovering more. And that added my anticipation for the story.

When you're planning to read this series, PLEASE DON'T READ THE SYNOPSIS. Just dive in in the story completely blind and clueless because you'll enjoy it like I did.

This review is for everything up until Chapter 107 of the manga, which is well over 12 volumes into the series. Fair warning: this manga has yet to be completed and it is so good after a certain point that you'll wish you could read it all in one go.

"Talentless Nana" takes a bit to truly find its footing, but WOW... I'm glad I sat down to read this. I like to think I'm pretty good at predicting the twists and turns of most stories, but there was one particular moment that just blindsided me and made my jaw drop! I've cried a couple times!

I don't want to say a single thing to spoil anyone. Just know that this is a QUALITY and RIVETING tale full of MYSTERY and SUSPENSE. Fantastic writing and artwork.

An island, people with talents, and oh yes, a lot more than that. You are in for a ride.

I am currently watching this anime, Munou na Nana or Talentless Nana as it is also called, which pretty much tells you what Nana is from the start. So I guess no spoiler at all.

We are on an island with a class of teens. All of them have powers and are, as they believe, preparing to fight the Enemies of Humanity. Monsters, which can also assume human forms. At the start of the book two new additions are added to the class, Kyouya and Nana. And from that point life at the island isn’t going to be so peaceful. Because Nana has a mission. Which, in my eyes got quite dumb at times (and dumber given I am now at episode 4 or 5 of the anime). I so so love isolated island settings! No way out. No way to contact people. And then there are superpowers. I loved finding out what everyone had and I am curious about the rest of the people we still have left.

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD.

Nana is here to kill the Talented. They are the Enemies of Humanity, not some monster, oh no, just people with talents. Apparently years ago some Talented discovered their talents and just went haywire. How much of that is true or not, I guess we will find out as the story continues. At least I hope so. Nana’s mission is to murder the Talented before they do bad things. Yep, she gets numbers from some council that hired her which get more and more bullshit as things continue. One, you are just assuming that they are going to do bad things? Even Moguo who is powermad wouldn’t kill people, not on purpose at least. He just needs to control his emotions and not get so worked up about things. I am sure there are bad Talented, but you also have bad Talentless. But still it is an interesting thing especially given the Talented are unknowing that they are the bad guys in the world.

Nana acts like a mindreader but is just knowledgeable about little tells and other things to let her know what people think. She acts like a cute bubbly girl who doesn’t harm a fly, but then BOOM she goes full yandere on things and she is ruthless. I wonder what happened to her, or people she loves that made her go this way.

Along with Nana we have a guy named Kyouya, I am not sure how I feel about him. He is here to find his sister who went missing, but comes in another plot in which people get murdered. He is an interesting character, but there are points that I was doubting him and wondering what his true personality is.

Along the way things get a bit bloody and creepy. You definitely want to continue reading and see who will survive and if anyone will discover Nana’s mission (Kyouya seems to know) and if they discover the plot against them.

I am not sure if I will continue reading the manga though despite it being a good read, because the anime follows it pretty closely it seems. There were a few little things here and there that were a tad different, but mostly it was step by step the same. For now I will continue the anime and if that is over or if there are too many differences in the end I will go back to the manga again.

But I would definitely recommend this manga though if you like twists and turns, murder plots, an insane yandere MC, and maybe a slightly dumb plot (given the numbers).

I've read all the chapters that are currently out (~57) and i think this is one of the most underrated manga of all time. highly recommend it if you like Death Note, badass/morally gray female protagonists, and deceptively cute art.
