A pocketbook of the most fundamental thing - the purpose of our existence and our role as the servant of Allah. It makes me realise that 'Laa Ilaaha Illallah' is not just a statement but an agreement we make but often take for granted. If we know and understand what it means, we will always try our best to be a better Muslim/Muslimah.
This book discusses nine conditions to 'Laa Illaha Illallah', and I love that it includes dalil from the Quran and hadith for every premise. There's a bonus chapter in the end that explain things that nullify one's faith.
With only 51 pages, I finished this book in less than an hour but left with a heaviness in my heart. It feels like an audit for me, for things I haven't aligned well with my submission as a Muslim. A sweet but punchy book every Muslim should read for better appreciation and a reminder of our shahadah.
Every Muslim knows that the key to Paradise is the statement, “There is none worthy of worship except Allah.” Yet too many Muslims simply rely upon this statement and believe that as long as they have made this statement, nothing will harm them. They think will be granted Paradise because of this mere verbal statement of the Shahaadah.
As many scholars state, though, this statement or testimony is the key to Paradise. The famous Taabi'i 1 Wahb ibn Munabbih was once asked, “Isn't the statement of laa ilaaha ill-Allah the key to Paradise?” He answered, “Yes, but every key has ridges. If you come with the key that has the right ridges, the door will open for you. Yet if you do not have the right ridges the door will not open for you.”
A pocket book but rich with insights. There are nine conditions stated here. With verses from Quran and hadith and the explanation is easy to grasp and understand.
Every muslim are aware that the key to paradise is the statement “There is none worthy of worship except Allah and i bear witness that Muhammad is His servant & messenger” . But the question is,
Is the mere saying shahaadah enough to guarantee us the key to Paradise?
Famous Taabi’i Wahb ibn Munabbah was once asked and he answered “Yes, but every key has ridges and if you come with the key with right ridges the door will open for you. Yet if you do not have the right ridges the door will not open for you”
That is to say, there are certain conditions shall be met as one make the statement of shahaadah for it considered to be valid & true.
This book discusses 9 conditions of Shahaadah that perhaps we’ve overlooked.
