Accidental Lawyer is oodles of fun and a nice departure.
The author, Kim Hamilton, was a personal injury attorney for several years prior to penning Jessica Snow’s fictional story.
Jess has just graduated from law school when she chooses personal injury law. It suits her goals and ambitions but is often a mismatch with her morals and ethics. As her star rises, her face is all over town, and she’s filming a commercial.
Jess is experiencing all the success she covets, and she even lands a brash sidekick, Kari, who helps her in the weeds.
Everything comes to a head when Jess’ boss is falsely accused of murder. Jess finds friends and camaraderie in the most unlikely of places.
Accidental Lawyer is so much fun. There are moments where I laughed out loud, and I loved the relatable and charming characters. There’s a nice, smooth pacing and some twists I didn’t see coming.
Overall, I found Accidental Lawyer to be a witty story with a nice side of mystery. Jess reminded me a bit of Stephanie Plum!

Great book! As the book progresses the humour does too! Great characters, witty humour will have you laughing out loud. This books follows the adventures if a new lawyer working in accident and injury law but murder, mobsters a few fires and an amazing team of co workers make the job more than she ever thought. Great read with twists , turns, who done its, and a lot of laughs!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters are relatable and funny. The pace is quick. A few easy to guess pieces and a few more that sneak up on you. Just a fun read. I cannot wait to give it another read. Definitely fun to take on vacation and enjoy.

Hilarious scenes from lobsters to fire extinguisher mess. The chapter breaks are well placed. There are some marvelous metaphors and descriptions. Favorite secondary character tie is between Mrs. Bianco and Franco. An acquaintance mentioned purchasing this book as a gift for her mom and I agree it's a good choice.

Accidental Lawyer is entertaining yet full of suspense and even a bit of sexual tension (not the kind of sexual tension that makes your mama blush - totally PG). It's a fast read, and the plot twists keep you on the edge of your seat from cover to cover. The characters are easy to relate to and when you finish, you're hoping there's a sequel so you can find out where everyone goes from here. There have been some books where I've known a few chapters in how they'd end - this book is absolutely nothing like that. I won't give anything away, but I was surprised by the ending. Pleasantly surprised.
Hamilton didn't waste a lot of time letting her own fun-loving personality stand out in her writing. The conversations are believable and will have you laughing. Who doesn't love a young female lawyer trying to make it in a predominantly male office? The friendships and camaraderie will have you smiling and sometimes wrinkling your brow (not unlike real life).

Funny and witty. A very humorous who done it book. It's full of laughs and is an enjoyable read. One can guess what's coming in a lot of areas but that's ok with this book the real joy to me was the laugh out loud moments..

Great little mystery. I loved seeing inside the world of an ambulance chaser who develops some detective skills, to get her boss off the hook.

Kim's book is not only funny, it gives the layman a view into the life of an Injury Lawyer and follows rookie Jessica Snow on a slew of adventures as she tries to solve a murder mystery and exonorate a loved one. It's a quick and enjoyable read that you don't want to miss!

Many years ago I regularly read the Janet Evanovich series with Stephanie Plum, the bounty hunter (at least to book 15). Hamilton's book is the first book I've read that I would ever compare to Janet Evanovich's writing, dry sense of humor, and knack for creating quirky characters. I've missed having such an easy and humorous escape (especially this past year). Hamilton has me picking up the Plum series where I left off years ago. Perhaps Janet Evanovich should thank you for the business. Ha Ha Ha.
I also used to live in Annapolis so I'm drawn to her perspective on Baltimore since I was reluctant to spend much time there.

I know nothing about the world of personal injury law, and I have generally held a negative view of law firms that advertise on television or on billboards. "Ambulance chasers" have a bad reputation across the board, but Kim Hamilton's Accidental Lawyer puts a human face on this area of law and creates a genuinely likable cast of characters.
The main character, Jessica Snow, is a newly minted lawyer in Baltimore, MD, who is learning the ropes through her new position with DSG, a fictional law firm that focuses on personal injury claims and whose employees consume a rather disturbing amount of pastry. The other members of her firm are supportive and kindly, and there are a number of other characters in the book who both help and hinder Jessica in her overarching quest to solve a murder. Having been to Baltimore several times myself, I enjoyed reading about the city and recognizing many places in the Inner Harbor area and Fells Point.
There is plenty of witty banter to go around, and the narration from Jessica's point of view is charming. There are a few areas that I found uneven, such as some chapter endings that were along the lines of "And then we all finished our meal and went our separate ways." I also felt like the ending of the book was rushed and wrapped up a bit too neatly, incorporating a conspiracy between two characters who didn't seem to have any connections up until that point. However, the ending was satisfying enough to make me glad I took the time to read the book.
Accidental Lawyer is a fun, quick read, and author Kim Hamilton is a strong storyteller who has a bright future. I look forward to reading more from her!

Overall this book is a load of fun. I loved the characters, especially Mark, the hot sexy fireman. "Oh la la" The story is a steady paced read that will never lag in entertainment. You are sure to enjoy ever moment. So if you like a feel good silly comedy suspense, then this book is right up your alley.

You probably recognize Jessica Snow's face, though you may not realize how. Due to her job as a personal injury lawyer her boss has had her face plastered on buses around the city to attract more business. Jessica knows she was hired more for her looks than her experience, as she's fresh out of school, but she wants to prove herself to her co-workers, clients, and mother. Soon enough Jessica has her hands full with trying to clear her boss' name of murder, injuries, the mob, drug dealers, and exploding toilets! With the help of office assistant Kari, Jessica will tackle it all and maybe even find a date.
If you like the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich than you'll love Jessica Snow! There are many comparisons to be made, but Ms. Hamilton keeps her story funny and entertaining without being a copy. All the crazy side characters kept me entertained, but Jessica kept my interest. She's easily likeable, and will find yourself rooting for her to succeed from the first chapter. I also enjoyed that her boss was basically a good guy, not just an "ambulance chaser" and that he recognized Jessica's hard work. I read this book because it is a. set in Baltimore and b. about lawyers. As my dogged determination to get through the Tess Monaghan series demonstrates, I will read anything set in Baltimore. I can't in good faith recommend this book to anyone who has a less rabid love for Baltimore since I don't think there is much to differentiate it from others in this category beyond that. As a former claims adjuster, I also found it amusing from that angle. The book started slow, was unbelievable at times (like someone interviewing the narrator just to laugh at her for being a personal injury lawyer) and the ending was a bit muddled. But, the middle of the book was good and it was enough to keep me interested.

A handful of laughs out loud and a sassy female protagonist who is also whip-smart - what's not to like? The story moves quickly and is not particularly predictable; there are many unforeseen complications and only one moment when the protagonist is saved from imminent death by what looks like the intervention of divine powers - otherwise, thins are kept well within the limits of plausibility, while still generating edge-of-the-seat interest. There's an almost lush, unlawyer-like style that the author has got going here which is also attractive to the overall picture. It's easy to become caught up in the characters' world and to care what happens to them, making this novel a likable success.

Jessica Snow, personal injury attorney, is more than just the pretty face people see plastered on buses. Under the deft hand of author Kim Hamilton, Jessica is smart, feisty, adventurous, and caring, with a dry wit and subtle humor that'll make you laugh and cheer her on. I loved the variety of characters in the story from her trusty, eager assistant - who's always at the ready - to the people that make her want to tear out her hair. Accidental Lawyer is a great read for fun, action, and a heroine who never says never.

Just okay
First of all, never believe when the title has to include a description after the title. It's never true. This was a partially enjoyable read. Not that fun. Not that thrilling. Not much of a mystery either. Hate these types of stories where the lead character is always jumping from one suspect to another with no real reasoning behind it. Then the car went from being a civic to an accord somehow. Little continuity things like that on top of a rather dull story makes it just okay at best.

Impressed
I honestly thought this would be a ho hum, read inbetween the "good" books I have been reading.I was very wrong! My apologies to Ms. Hamilton. Not only were the characters likable and relatable but the story was well thought out and I liked the fact that I didn't see the ending coming! I hope there are more in the works. I think there would be a lot of places Jess could go!

Fun, quick summer read
I enjoyed this fun book with a nice twist of an ending. Some descriptive bits are repetitive (swiping mascara) and try a bit too hard to be pulp fiction quirky but overall really enjoyed her writing style. Fun cast of characters with fun personalities,quirks and some some dialogue that brought regular giggles. Find myself a bit sad to leave them all at the end of the story. Will definitely check out some of her other books.

Kim Hamilton's Dazzling debut novel is funny and enthralling. Full of unexpected twists and turns, laugh out loud moments, and charming characters, I call Accidental Lawyer a must read. I couldn't put it down. If you are a fan of Janet Evanovich, I think you'll be a fan of Kim Hamilton. Watch her, I have a felling she's gonna be going places.

The accidental lawyer is a great, funny ready. I really enjoyed the story and all of the fantastic characters. I'd highly recommend it and I hope that this is the start of a series as I'd been keen to read more about Jessica and her friends.

If you're looking for a good read, I recommend, "Accidental Lawyer" by Kim Hamilton. Set in Baltimore it provides a humorous look into the personal injury law profession. It is fast paced, stocked with quirky characters, rings with witty dialogue, and is interwoven with a thread of mystery.

Laughed out loud, light hearted mystery

You a fun, legal thriller
I enjoyed the characters and premise of the story. A young lawyer, out of school, working in personal injury law, to pay the bills. I hoping this will be a full series. Her friends and family are great support and add some good twist to the story.

Loved it
This book has everything. I don't like romance books per second but this one has some of everything. Danger, gun toting elders and the mob. Just a smidgen of romance. Perfect

Enjoyed reading this book. Interesting and believable characters and a believable yet unbelievable storyline. I could easily picture the characters and their conversations as real. Great escape!

Despite a few places where her spell-checker chose the wrong word, this is an engaging, funny story with an unexpected ending. Nice setup for several sequels as well.
